  Attach color A to last stitch of row 7. Repeat rows 1 through 7; Repeat row 1 and fasten off.

  The blanket will begin and end with color A. There will be 3 stripes of color B and 4 stripes of color A.

  BORDER

  Round 1: Change to size N hook and attach color B with right side facing, single crochet around the body, increasing at the corners; join to first single crochet with a slip stitch. Turn.

  Round 2: Chain 3 (counts as double crochet), skip first single crochet, double crochet in each single crochet around increasing at corners; join with a slip stitch to the top of the chain 3. Do not turn.

  Round 3: Chain 1, single crochet in each stitch around, increasing at corners; join to chain 1 with a slip stitch and fasten off. Finish off by weaving in yarn tails.

  California Noodle Pudding

  SERVES 12

  16 ounces wide egg noodles,

  cooked and drained

  4 ounces of butter, cut in

  small pieces

  1 pint sour cream

  1 pound cottage cheese

  6 eggs, lightly beaten

  1 teaspoon vanilla

  2 tablespoons sugar

  6 ounces of dried apricots,

  cut in small pieces

  ¼ cup slivered almonds

  Pour cooked noodles in a bowl and mix in butter pieces. In a separate bowl mix the sour cream and cottage cheese. Add the beaten eggs and mix until blended. Mix in vanilla and sugar. Mix in the apricot pieces. Combine mixture with the noodles. Pour into a greased 9-by-13-inch pan.

  Bake at 400° for 15 minutes. Lower oven temperature to 350° and bake 1 hour.

  Can be eaten hot or cold.
