Stanley (Red Wolf Book 2) Page 12

by Dawn, Crystal

“It’s been our pleasure to serve you. Have a nice day.” The teller said as I left.

I got in my car and met the guys at the car lot. It wasn’t just a car lot. The man had everything with a motor or wheels. Boats, trailers, scooters, even a golf cart. His bad reputation wasn’t helping him sell cars. The guys were waiting in Stan’s truck. Stan got out and met me and we went in the small office together.

“I wasn’t sure you would be back.” McSmiley said. I’d figured out who he was now. His eyes followed my hands greedily as I counted the money out. His greasy smile came out and he said, “I’m ready if you guys will help me set up. I’ll have to hook up to the trailer, it’s already on wheels. The signs will have to go on all the vehicles and turn on your hazard lights on both as well.”

“We won’t get stopped by the law will we?” I asked. I was suddenly worried.

“No, my cousin is sheriff. He’s retiring at the end of the year. That will really mess with me unless I know the new guy.” He whined.

“Well we need to hurry. We can’t do this after dark.”

“That’s true.” He said and handed me and Stan each a magnetic sign to pin on our cars.

We went out ahead of him and put them on my car and his truck. Hadley was driving. ”Turn on the hazard lights and follow the truck pulling the trailer but don’t follow too close.” I told him. He nodded but I still worried.

I got in Stan’s truck and he prepared to lead the way but ended up getting back out to help McSmiley. The older man was having trouble and Stan ended up doing everything. Once he got back in the truck, we were finally ready to go.

“Now tell me the plan again?” He asked.

“We move everyone out of the guest room into the trailer and fix up the guest room for guests.”

“Makes sense. What about when the guests leave?”

“We can let pack members stay in there as long as it’s kept in good shape. You know now that we’ve bought this trailer, I’ve been thinking about the auctions where you can buy this kind of thing. The biggest problem is getting the stuff home.”

“That’s a pretty big problem.” Stan agreed. We were quiet for a while both of us lost in our thoughts before he pulled into the pack lands. We pulled up near the house and Stan hurried to decide where to put the trailer.

Pack members came outside and stared trying to figure out what was going on. Stan directed McSmiley so he wouldn’t hit anything but he went wide and hit a tent anyway. Luckily it was an empty one and no one was hurt. They unhooked the trailer from McSmiley’s truck and the old boy came up to me.

“I didn’t know you were one of these people.” He said.

  “What people are those?”

“Oh, I didn’t mean anything by it. The people that live here are just very secretive and everyone thought they might be a cult. It looks pretty normal except for all the tents.”

“Let me show you in one of the tents. The big one here.”

We went in and Garth was working hard. “Well I never expected this. What about the others?”

  “The kids play in them.”

“Well that’s disappointing. I was hoping for a cult or aliens.” He laughed like it was a hell of a joke. He’d get the word out that things were pretty normal here. We needed that acceptance from the Greyville community for our businesses and those people who wanted to work there. A good thing McSmiley had no idea of who we really were.

The old car salesman hopped back in his truck and took off without a backward look. Now all the pack members were milling around the trailer looking at it like it was a two headed snake. All of the ladies who stayed in the guest room were in the crowd as I approached them.

“This will be your new home until we come up with something better. Two bedrooms and two baths will make things easier for you.”

“Who will get the room in the house?” Sandy asked.

“We need to use it as a guest room part of the time. We have guests coming the day after tomorrow so in the morning, ladies, I need you to pack up and move in here. Do you want one double or two singles?”

  “Singles.” They all agreed.

“I’ll see about getting the beds in the morning.” Tomorrow would be a busy day.

It was supper time and I felt the need to accomplish more before bedtime. The whole pack was excited about having visitors even though they had no idea who they were. If they’d known, they would have been even more excited. None of them had ever met a white wolf and to them it would be like seeing a unicorn.

I found Stan and dragged him to supper because I was really hungry. Thank the goddess Del was cooking and it smelled like someone was grilling too. I would kill for a medium rare steak. My wolf growled in agreement. The kids had hot dogs and macaroni and cheese. The adults had beef or pork steak with salad and twice baked potatoes. Two of the males worked the grill while Del was inside. We grabbed two steaks each, a potato, and went inside to get our salad.

Del was cooking like a champ, but not for tonight. She was cooking ahead for our guest’s arrival. The smell of baking chicken and fish filled the air. I saw she had a roster for her helpers to cook all night long. The female was a great organizer. Once we got better facilities, she would feed the pack well. I was excited about everything we had planned, but I needed some fun time too and we hadn’t had anything like that as far as our pack went.

Wolves were social and they needed contact with their pack, but they needed fun both as individuals and with their group. We had no place to setup parties or pack gatherings of any kind. Once we had the restaurant Stan wanted built, we could use it for watching movies and playing games. It was sad that the good stuff had to wait because I saw the need when I looked into the eyes of my pack.

We ate without talking much because we were both hungry and our wolves enjoyed the barely cooked meat. Once we were done, we both helped with dishes and packing away leftovers. Once that was done, our eyes met making us smile. It was our private time now.

I didn’t mind going to bed early with the promise of his lips on mine. Stan picked me up and carried me to our bedroom, kicked the door shut, and laid me on the bed. He flipped me over to my stomach and lifted me to all fours. His arm slid under me to hold me up. I suspected this was his favorite style for lovemaking. My thighs were dripping with anticipation and he didn’t make me wait.

Maybe he could smell my need, he lined up his cockhead to my aching channel and drove into me until he could go no further. A cry of pleasure was wrung from me as I pushed back against him making sure I had all there was for him to give. I did and I’d never felt so full before.

Stan made low growling noises that made my stomach clench with desire and it spiraled downward. I wanted him to go crazy like I was so he would pound into me until we both exploded. I didn’t know this rougher, wilder side of me. It was new because my wolf had broken free and wanted to run things. No matter, I would give her full rein, for now.

I met his thrusts as he pounded into me and I heard his grunt of approval. This wasn’t the gentle joinings we usually had. Our beasts had taken over and claimed this time for themselves. They wanted to enjoy this time without the human side meddling.

We came together so hard it hurt, but pleasure washed over me as well. I wanted more of the same. His hand moved over my clit and I moaned as he stroked it. He continued circling my little bundle until my body exploded and then I began thrashing out my release. I jerked and he worked hard to stay inside me while my body bucked and squeezed until he too exploded violently. I could feel the hot splash as his seed filled me.

Stan rolled us over on the bed and I covered him like a blanket. I was carried away with pleasure and trying to catch my breath and slow my heart, I didn’t notice he was looking at me.

“Are you ready for more?” he asked.

“I am if you are.” I teased. This was turning out to be a wonderful night, but I needed to remember I had a lot to do tomorrow.

“Are you thinking about the morn
ing?” He asked and I nodded. “That will take care of itself.” He said as he moved me into position and claimed me over and over again.

When I woke in the morning, Stan was already gone. I stretched out gingerly and I felt a little sore. Not bad, considering we had fucked late into the night. Being a wolf was great, because had I still been human I wouldn’t have been able to get out of bed. Even a magic potion wouldn’t have been enough to make it possible.

I got up, took a hot shower that helped ease my discomfort, dried and dressed for work. My computer would be the first tool I used so I turned it on and took it to the kitchen so I could work while I ate breakfast and had my first cup of mud. Why call it mud? Because the males made it strong and heavy. I left plenty of room so I could put cream and honey in it.

Now it tasted like heaven. I sipped as I surfed the internet looking for places to buy used beds. I found a set of detachable bunk beds advertised on an online sales page. I called and they still had it so I skipped breakfast and was happy Stan had left me one of the trucks. I grabbed two teenage males and we headed to the address the beds were at.

I knocked on the door and a lady answered. “I called about the bunk beds.”

  “Oh, come on in.”

“Guys, just wait outside. I’ll call if I need you.” The woman looked relieved.

“We’re moving and I need to get rid of everything. Are you looking for anything else?”

“Let’s check the beds out first.”

They were typical kid’s beds and while they weren’t what I wanted, I could still use them. “I might be interested in them if we can agree on the price. Show me what else you have.”

We went to the living room. “Anything in here is for sale.”

“Either of these convert into beds?”

“No, but my kids prefer them to the bunk beds. Let’s go to the guest room.” I followed her. There was a bedroom set, one twin bed and two dressers.

I followed her to the next room. “This is our set. I know you wanted bunk beds but two kids could sleep in this. The dressers match and there are twin night stands.”

“What else do you have?” She had a dining room set, refrigerator, freezer, washer and dryer, and a nice stove with a larger oven than we had. How much for all of it?”

  “You want it all?”

  “If the price is affordable.”

“It will take us a thousand dollars to get to Nevada and pay our first month’s rent.”

“I’ll give you $750 and I’ll go to the bank right now and get cash. We’ll get it all today and be out of your hair.”

“Damn! It would really be good to get it all gone. Okay, deal.”

I felt pretty good. This time I called Stan and told him what I’d done. I sent him the address and the boys and I went to the bank. We went straight back to the house and I paid her cash. She had already dumped everything in the dressers out onto sheets and tied them up so she could carry them out.

I supervised the boys as they loaded the truck and she had an old TV she gave them. She had a van she was loading with the clothes and smaller appliances. The boys helped her while we waited. Stan showed up first and they helped him load his truck and Grover showed up after Stan and the boys took both trucks to unload. Stan came back for the last load and I went home with him.

“I think you’re addicted to shopping.” He teased.

“If I am, it’s a good thing for you.” We got back and unloaded by eleven so we ate lunch together. Once we were done, we both had to get to work. I gave my mate a sexy kiss so he would know what was waiting for him tonight.

I went outside to see Stan off to work and then I turned my attention back to my search for furniture. I moved to the second page and was amazed that this site had thousands of pages of furniture in the surrounding area. I found a split king mattress for a reasonable price. One of the older guys was around and I sent him after it with the two teenagers that had helped me earlier.

Things were coming together so I checked out the room the ladies had vacated. They had left it messy so I searched them out. “Ladies, you left the room a mess. I don’t want to see you anywhere else until it’s cleaned up.”

“You can’t make us.” Maria snarked.

“Are you sure about that?” I asked. The other females had already left to clean the room.

  “I don’t think you’re really a witch or a wolf.” Maria observed.

I pulled a ball of fire into my hand. “You don’t think so? Can’t you smell?” I knew my wolf was showing in my eyes.

“So you’re a witch. We need a wolf not a witch to run our pack.” Maria insisted.

I knew this had been coming, but I hated to show myself to this stubborn female. She didn’t have the guts to challenge me because of my magic, but she’d never respect me until I had my jaws around her throat.

“Let’s go for a walk, Maria. I have something to show you if you’re not too scared to see.” This might not go down in history as my finest moment, but I had to shut up the dissenters before I had a rebellion on my hands.

“You going to fight?” Garth asked as we walked by.

“Yes.” I said. “Want to guard us so no one else sees?”

  “I’d be happy to.”

He fell into step behind us. “You won’t help her will you?” Maria asked nervously.

“No, but I’ll try to make sure she doesn’t kill you by accident.” Garth said. Maria frowned at him.

We were at the old circle where Stan had beaten James. The circle usually used by the pack was behind the pack house but there were too many people there. “Wolf rules.” Garth said and even I knew what they were from the battle for alpha. “Step in the ring and change at will.”

We both stepped into the ring and Maria’s light grey wolf came out to play. I stepped into the ring and morphed in the blink of an eye. It was so fast that I jumped on her and had her by the throat before she realized I had changed form. I growled low and fierce and she tapped her paw on the dirt.

We changed at the same time. “Was some of your fur red?” She asked in awe.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about and if you want to stay with this pack, you’ll not repeat it.” I didn’t trust her to be quiet, but I’d done what I could to keep the secret safe.

  Epilogue

Mal and her mate came and got the three internet sites set up for us. I was excited about my witchy site. Liza would have a clothing site and we would be selling furniture online too, now.

The pack was excited about having guests, but Mal and Judah didn’t mix with them much. I suppose he was worried because she was a white wolf, even though none of my pack, other than Stan and I, knew it. The trip was expected to take four days, but she got it done in two. They left early to deal with an emergency back home. I really liked Mal and Judah and I was sad to see them go.

“Hey, Alpha Bitch. Guess what?” Maisy said coming home in a great mood.

  “What?”

“I found out I can get a car if I can pay ten percent down. The program will pay the rest as long as it’s used and five thousand dollars or less.”

“What are we waiting for? Let’s go, but let’s get Lester first.”

“Why do we need Lester?” Maisy asked.

  “He’s a mechanic.”

“I didn’t know that.” I wasn’t surprised. Lester had stayed away from the pack when James had started to lose his mind and even though he lived in a pack house, no one had bothered him or collected rent in ten years. He’d continued to work as a mechanic and had built his own shop on some land he’d bought close to his house. As far as I was concerned, he owed the pack and I didn’t feel bad asking him for favors.

Maisy and I ran over to Lester’s house and picked him up. His mate sent their sixteen year old with us. Either because she didn’t trust him with females or she was afraid we’d hurt him. That wasn’t my intention but he would be seeing more of pack members. Slowly we would be reclaiming our people.

  McSmil
ey was in the office so I let Maisy and Lester check out the cars while I went to get McSmiley. “Hello there. I decided to take you up on your offer to sell cars for you. I brought my first customer with me.”

“I’m glad you did.” His oily smile reminded me of why people didn’t trust used car salesmen.

“All the cars are in good shape, right? She brought a mechanic with her.”

“They all run like a top.” He bragged.

“She’s in a program and you’ll have to fill out her paperwork to get paid.”

“No problem if you help me.”

“I’ll bring her in if she decides on something.”

  “I’ll be here.”

When I got outside, they were looking at a sports car. It was double the price she could pay. I just shook my head and found a small SUV. It was six thousand but I knew he’d take a bit less. I’d talked to pack members who said he wasn’t selling anything. If he wanted to make money, he needed to give a little.

“It’s nice, but I loved the sports car.”

“I know but the insurance will be higher and he won’t go down to your price level.”

Maisy nodded. The small SUV was perfect for her and in time she would realize it. It was also only five years old and relatively low mileage. I went back in to talk to McSmiley alone. “She’s interested in the SUV for six but it’s more than she can pay.”

“I can work with her a little.”

“She’s making you an offer. First, she wants a five hundred dollar rebate to cover the down payment. Including that, she’ll give you a total of five.”

  “She won’t pay more?”

“The people that live out where you dropped the trailer, had a company they all worked for. The guy that was managing it robbed them blind. He’s gone now, but they are all broke. She’s got a little girl to raise. If it wasn’t for the program, the money wouldn’t be there at all.”

  “Are you expecting a commission?”

  “Why wouldn’t I?”

“You don’t get it on the rebate portion.”
