“Why does she need the rebate?”
“Insurance and registration.”
“Will you get me more business from those people?”
“I plan to.”
“Bring her in here and we’ll get it done, but she can’t take the car until I get the money. No commission until then either.”
“Okay.”
I brought Maisy in and she was excited. This would be the first thing she owned that was truly hers. The paperwork was filled out and I called the contact person for Maisy and explained her situation. For a single parent they were willing to speed things up and get the money sent in the morning.
The next day everything worked out well, even though the insurance was higher than expected. Half my commission went on that. That was alright because I wanted to help Maisy and see that she was able to take care of herself and her child. Maisy passed her written driver’s test the next day. She was well on her way to getting her life together.
Liza’s store was doing great. She was doing mostly custom work like wedding and formal dresses while her assistant was now sewing the everyday clothing. Kristen had all the business she could handle and was working long hours. She was ready for the girls at the beauty college to graduate and come to help her.
All three online stores were doing well. Garth was training helpers and keeping them all busy. Furniture sales was good and kept increasing. With all the income we were generating, Stan hoped to start adding buildings soon.
Stan had put in the paperwork to collect the bounty on Abs. A hundred thousand dollars could do a lot of good for this pack.
My cousin Nancy invited me to visit, but I knew Stan would never let me go. I invited her here never thinking she would agree. Imagine my surprise when she said she would be here in two weeks? Time to get some more emergency housing. I could only hope this visit went smoothly…
