“Rest assured, you will pay overdue monies owed. If you don’t, your bank accounts can be seized, your driver’s license and passport suspended, and credit reporting agencies will be informed that you owe back child support. All that can be arranged.”
“Just tell Mina to call me when she and Josi get back,” he grumbles.
“I’ll convey the message,” I say, then hang up.
“That was brilliant, Den!” Mina looks at me with awed respect as she hooks her arm with mine. “I’ll bet Derrick is wiping his brow right now, thankful he doesn’t have any of that financial burden.”
“And you didn’t even drop the bomb that he’ll be dealing with you running circles around him from now on as Mina’s future husband,” Talia says, laughing. “I kind of feel sorry for the guy when he finds out.”
“London for several weeks?” Sebastian cuts in, frowning.
Walking over to her husband, Talia wraps an arm around his waist. “At least while Mina and Josi are with Den in London, you won’t have to worry about Simone trying to contact her.”
“The fact Simone keeps changing her looks makes it damn hard to pin her down.” Sebastian pulls Talia close, the lines around his mouth deepening. “I hate that she’s still out there, especially with our best guard traipsing around England.”
“Did you say best?” A cocky grin splits Den’s lips. “I never thought you’d admit it, Sebastian.”
Sebastian clears his throat and straightens. “What I meant to say was: You will be back here in two weeks, three max. Got it?”
“Try not to give Hugh too hard a time,” I say, nodding. Wrapping my arm around Mina’s shoulders, I kiss her temple, “Ready to go, Little Willow?”
“So ready.” Squeezing me, she turns her bright smile Sebastian and Talia’s way. “And we’re off to see the Queen!”
