Sweetheart Bride: A Tropical Billionaire Marriage of Convenience (Brides of Paradise Book 2)
Page 16
“If you like.” She fluffed her hair coyly, lowering her gaze, and then spoiled it by giggling. “Shall I turn down Sir’s bed?”
Ryan picked up Ellie and threw her over his shoulder.
“Eek!” Her squeal echoed. She slapped a hand on her mouth and teetered, flailing, in Ryan’s arms.
He strode into the cabin and tossed her onto the bed.
Ohmygod. Ellie’s heart pounded.
Ryan ripped his shirt open, flung it away, and stood over her like the sexiest stevedore in the world.
Ohmygod. She didn’t know whether to take off her own clothes or faint. Ryan’s gaze burned over her, setting her skin on fire. He took her shoes away and grasped one foot, running his thumbs along her instep. And then he burst out laughing, himself.
“Oh.” Ryan collapsed on the bed, wheezing. “Oh, good grief.”
Ellie couldn’t resist joining in. They held each other, shaking with glee. Then they shook with quite another feeling. Desire rushed through Ellie, carrying her mouth to his. She felt their hearts connect and knew she’d never need to play games with Ryan.
Nothing was better than the roles they’d already chosen.
Husband and wife.
