Undesired Lust

“Kitten, either you take it off, or I’ll take it off for you.”

She swallowed to cover a whimper. She’d never been able to deny Mason Lynch, not his crazy song ideas or the dares he challenged her with on their down time. She’d always been a slave to his commands, no matter how innocent. Tonight wasn’t any different.

With tingling hands, she grabbed the hem of Sean’s shirt and raised it over her head, letting the material fall to the floor. Mason’s nostrils flared as he continued to stare into her eyes. His jaw ticked, his lips thinned, and with each passing second, the dampness between her thighs increased.

She wanted this. Him. Her. Together, at last. But no matter what path she strived to look down, nothing between them seemed achievable. Not in the short-term with the threat to their safety looming above them. And not the long-term with their careers drifting apart.

“Mason, I don’t want to fall in love with you again.” Truth was, she never stopped. For her heart’s sake, she needed to distance herself. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to walk away.

He leaned in, brushing the stubble of his cheek against her jaw, his lips hovering close to her ear. “And I can’t let you leave until you’re as weak for me as I am for you.” His teeth grazed a trail down her neck, sending flutters of ecstasy to her tightening nipples. “Catch-22, kitten.”

She shook her head as he nipped a path to her shoulder, her resolve disintegrating by the second. His hand swept across her hips, then higher, along her waist, over her ribs to cup her breasts. She arched into him, closing her eyes, unable to walk away and save herself while he was tweaking her aching nipples.

“I’ve found myself again,” he murmured. “I found myself in you. I can’t let that go. I’m sorry, I can’t.”

This time her whimper escaped, parting her lips and giving him the invitation to seek her mouth with his own. He kissed her, soft, gentle, slow. The sweep of his tongue dancing delicately with hers. She was defenseless, entirely at his mercy, and she couldn’t find the will to care. Her heart was throbbing, burning her from the inside out.

“I still need to leave,” she whispered into his mouth. “Sex doesn’t change anything.”

  “What about making love?”

She opened her eyes, immediately seeking his chocolate irises. He stroked a heavy hand through her loose hair, giving her time for the words to sink in.

“I’ve never made love to a woman before.”

Her heart cracked, fractured, split entirely in two. “Mason…” She swallowed down her emotions, shaking her head to deny the sincerity in his eyes.

“You make me crazy.” The side of his lips curled, his arrogant grin hitting her head on. “You make me mindless.” He lifted her, an arm under her legs and another behind her back as he placed her down on the mattress. “I want to return the favor.”

She leaned up on her elbows, her focus raking the contours of his body. “You already have.” He was gorgeous. His frame smaller than Sean’s, but no less enticing. The muscles of his arms flexed, the lines of sinew making her salivate as he tugged the towel at his waist and let it fall to his feet. Oh, shit. His balls were drawn tight, his cock rock hard and jerking against his abdomen.

“Part your thighs.” He climbed onto the bed, running his calloused palm along the inside of her leg before he settled between them. “Fuck, you smell good.” His face hovered above her pussy, his breath tickling her sensitive skin.

He lowered his mouth to her panties, rubbing his lower lip against the material covering her clit. “I want to taste you.”

“Not as much as I want you inside me,” she panted. “Please, for the love of god, don’t tease me.”

He chuckled against her pussy, blowing a rush of hot air against her entrance. A finger slid underneath the elastic at the crotch of her panties, pulling them to the side, and she held her breath, waiting for the delicious moment when his tongue parted her folds.

“Oh, Christ.” She slapped a hand over her mouth as his tongue delved deep, circling, lapping, driving her to the brink before retreating. “Please, Mason, I need you.” She wanted his cock inside her, to be face to face with the man she adored.

He sucked her clit, making it throb incessantly while two fingers slid inside her, working in a rhythm that had her gyrating into his face.

  “Mason, please. I want you.”

He shook his head, continuing to suck the bundle of nerves, edging her toward the point of no return. She grabbed onto the side of the headboard with one hand and clenched her fist against her lips with the other. She didn’t want to make a noise, but the urge to scream built in her lungs. His mouth felt so good, his tongue now flicking her clit, his fingers penetrating faster.

“Mason. Mason. Mason,” she chanted his name in a whisper, then held her breath with the sudden force of her climax. She squeezed her eyes shut, biting her lip as pulse after pulse of undiluted pleasure skittered through her limbs.

As the rush faded, she sucked in a air, opening her eyes to Mason staring back at her.

“Beautiful,” he murmured, climbing up her body. He rested into her, pelvis to pelvis, and continued to peer into her eyes.

He didn’t make a move, didn’t continue with his seductive onslaught. It was as if he’d called a time out on the fun.

  “Is that it?”

He laughed, his belly jostling against hers. “Is that it? Damn, kitten, you’re killing my ego.”

She dug a finger into his ribs. “Why have you stopped? I thought you promised to make love to me.”

He shook his head, his joviality lessening to a half-hearted smile. “Not tonight, kitten.”

“What?” She frowned at him. “Did I do something wrong?”

He broke their gaze, leaning his forehead against her shoulder. “God, no. Believe me, I want nothing more than your hot little body right now.”

  “Then why did you stop?”

He huffed out a breath, the warm air fanning her collarbone. “I don’t have any protection.”

Sidney closed her eyes and groaned. “When did you figure that out?”

His lips brushed kisses against the curve of her neck, his erection still insistent near the apex of her thighs. “When I dropped the towel.”

“What?” She pushed at his chest, making him meet her gaze. He’d given her pleasure, winding them both up to the point of insanity when he knew he wouldn’t receive fulfillment in return. “When did you quit being a selfish asshole?”

He smirked, stealing her lips with a quick kiss. “When you came back into my life.”

He moved off of her, beginning to climb from the bed. She argued with herself for less than a second, knowing full well she’d regret her weakness later. But she couldn’t go home tomorrow without experiencing this moment. Heartbreak be damned.

“I don’t want you to stop.” She grabbed his hand and tugged him onto the mattress. “I need you to make love to me.”

  ***

MASON HAD NO doubt Sidney would regret another bout of unprotected sex. He couldn’t make the same mistake twice in less than twelve hours…Or could he?

She was laid out like a gift to his senses. He’d already had to push his muse to the back of his mind. It didn’t seem fair, after so long begging to find inspiration, now he had to suppress the creativity flooding his brain.

“You don’t want to do this, kitten.” He sat on the edge of the bed, watching as she slid the delicate scrap of her underwear down her thighs and the threw them across the bed.

“Don’t I?” She wrapped her legs around his waist, her bare pussy right at his side.

“Fuck,” he bit out. He couldn’t look at her, not even a sideways glance. Once those hazel eyes caught his, he’d be lost. “Sid, seriously, think about this. You regretted it earlier, you’ll regret it now.”

“I can deal with regret as long as it’s over something I did do, instead of something I didn’t.”

She had a fucking answer for everything. Yet, he still didn’t want h
er to regret sleeping with him. She’d already spent years doing that.

“It’ll be even better if we wait until tomorrow.” Said no sane man. Ever.

She sat up, slinging one arm around his shoulder while the other left his wrist to encircle his cock.

“Fuck. Me.” Oh, shit. All he could do was curse under the exquisite feel of her soft palm around his dick. In his mind, he was already there, between her thighs, on top of her perfect body. He could imagine the curve of her breast in his hand, that first groan-worthy slide into her pussy.

“I’ll be gone tomorrow,” she murmured into his ear.

“No.” The declaration had him shaking his head and squeezing his eyes shut. “You won’t.”

Her tongue grazed his earlobe, while her hand began to work his shaft. “Yes, Mason. I will. This is your only chance to make love to me.”

He groaned, his hips involuntarily rocking him further into her grasp. “You’re killing me.”

  “You’re rejecting me.”

His eyes snapped open and he turned to meet her gaze. “I’m not fucking reje—”

Her lips smashed against his, the hand around his neck moving to his cheek to keep him in check. She unraveled him, one stroke of his cock and one flick of her tongue at a time. He no longer had the will to resist. He was stupid to think he could’ve in the first place.

“I can taste myself on your tongue,” she purred into his mouth.

“It won’t be the last time you do.”

She leaned back, the smile on her lips slightly coy as her fingers drifted from his cock. “Don’t get ahead of yourself, rock star.” She gripped his shoulders and straddled his waist, her knees falling to either side of his hips.

He wasn’t getting ahead of himself. He was making promises and setting plans. There was going to be a lot of Sidney Higgins in his future, no doubt about it. A day wouldn’t pass without him wanting to be right where he was now—claiming heaven, feeling free. It was a heady sense of achievement to finally have her back in his arms. He wasn’t going to let go easily.

Her hands grazed a trail from his shoulders to his cheeks, holding them face to face. He could see the emotion in her eyes, could feel it too, pulsing from her in waves. Her mind may be unconvinced about them being together, but, her body painted a completely different picture. She wanted this. Just as much as he did.

This time, when she brought their lips together, it was gentle. Slow. Delicate sweeps of tongue, as her body pressed into his. Her pubic bone rubbed against his cock at the same time she kissed the life from him, driving him crazy until he was moaning into her mouth.

“Shh.” She pecked the side of his mouth, his jaw, his shoulder, each gentle brush making need pulse heavier through his veins. “Please don’t be loud.”

Because of Sean. He ignored the stab of guilt slicing through his sternum and raked his hands through her hair. He couldn’t begrudge his friend for wanting her. Sean was more deserving of the beautiful woman in his arms. But there was nothing Mason could do about it. He was lost to her, unable to share or even contemplate anyone else claiming her.

He pushed to his feet, turned, and swung them both back down to the mattress with him on top. They lay stretched horizontal across the middle of the bed, her legs wrapping around his, her lips kiss darkened and too damn tempting.

“Wildcat,” he murmured, relishing the spark of playfulness in her eyes.

The head of his shaft nudged her entrance, sliding through her slick arousal. He teased her. Himself too. Dragging his dick back and forth along her slit. She was so damn wet, and beyond ready for him. The more he teased, the harder her nails dug into his skin, until finally he couldn’t take it anymore. He tilted his hips, sinking home without assistance as she bit her lip, stifling a moan. He paused at the hilt, overcome with appreciation, pleasure, and also regret.

He loved her. There was no other explanation.

Nobody had ever broken and strengthened him at the same time before. She was his muse, his passion, his obsession. Together they were unstoppable.

“Stay with me,” he uttered against her cheek.

Her legs tightened around his thighs, her hips gliding up to meet his movements. “I’m with you. Oh, god, I’m almost there again.”

She misinterpreted his words, and that was fine. He didn’t want to look like a dick anyway.

“You’re so damn tight.” Without protection, the feel of her pussy around him was electric. Every thrust pushed his limits, every buck of her pelvis made him clench his stomach to fight his oncoming climax.

He stared into her eyes, seeing his future reflected back at him. No other woman would ever compare. She was the full package—brains, beauty, and inspiration. He was done. Lost. Completely sucker punched by the potency of his need for her.

She wrapped an arm around his neck, pulling him down to place her mouth by his ear. “I’m trying so damn hard not to make any noise, when all I want to do is scream your name.” She groaned, gyrating her hips to meet his thrust.

He’d kill to hear her cry his name in pleasure. Even better was the breathy way she whispered it against his cheek.

  “Mason…Mason…Oh, god…”

He nuzzled her cheek, scraping his teeth against her jaw line, palming her breast in his hand. He rocked harder, deeper, drawing out a bliss-filled whimper every time.

  “Mason.”

His name was a warning now, ramping his adrenaline, making his shaft throb.

  “Oh—”

He cut off the increasing volume of her voice with his mouth, kissing the breath from his lungs. His tongue mimicked the harsh thrusts of his pelvis while he came undone in pulse after pulse of orgasm. She clawed at him, digging her nails under his skin, thrusting her breasts into his chest.

He consumed each of her whimpers, the satisfied sounds making his release last a fucking eternity. As her movements slowed, so did his. They’d reached the height of awesomeness together, and sailed back down as one. He edged away from her lips and peered down at her, letting her panted breaths fan his cheek.

  Paradise.

He’d found it. And one thing was for certain—no matter what she decided about flying home, he would do right by her. He’d make up for the scandal somehow. Sidney had given him a taste of heaven, the least he could do was stop her life being a living hell.

SIDNEY FINISHED USING the facilities and scooted from the bathroom, entirely too aware she was buck-ass naked. Mason grinned, visually stalking her movements from his position on the end of the mattress.

“I don’t get the whole ‘sex bravado’ thing,” he chuckled, pushing to his feet and then making his way to the bathroom. Entirely naked. Completely unabashed. “One minute you’re brimming with confidence. The next you’re a virgin on her wedding night.”

“We can’t all be as self-assured as you,” she murmured loud enough for him to hear. “It takes me a while to get used to someone seeing me at my most vulnerable.”

The faucet turned on momentarily, and then he was back in the doorway, leaning against the frame. Still entirely naked and unabashed. He stood there, his dark gaze ensnaring every inch of her being. “How long is ‘a while?’”

Longer than they had. Justin had already emailed through the flight confirmation for tomorrow. She’d made up her mind to leave. It was the last coherent thought she’d had, and she was sticking to it. Every other brain cloud was flittering in and out of her mind like a leaf in a hurricane. Too much crazy and not enough mental capacity to cope.

She didn’t know how long she’d stay away. Or if Mason would want to wait for her to return before he continued working on the album. All she knew was that she needed a time out. Her body couldn’t handle all this sex for starters. She was aching in places that hadn’t seen action in a damn long time. And the fear of going to sleep and waking up to the reality of making a huge mistake was starting to nag at her. Her intuition about the brewing media storm was getting to her. She couldn’t ignore it forever, and tackli
ng the nastiness in the privacy of her own home, where she could sob in peace, was the best option.

  “Kitten?”

“Hmm?” She blinked away the visual of her impending breakdown and rested into the pillows.

“You OK?” He frowned, pushing from the doorframe to walk toward the bedroom door. His wavy hair was sex-ruffled, framing the most gorgeous face she’d ever laid eyes on.

  “Just exhausted.”

He narrowed his gaze before flicking off the light switch, sending the room into darkness. “Are you sure? If you’re worried about the asshole causing trouble, don’t be. You’re safe here.”

  “And what about tomorrow?”

He snuggled in behind her, spooning his chest to her back and placing a protective arm around her belly.

“I’ll call Jim when we wake up. He can hang around for a few days and keep an eye on us.”

“Jim?” Her voice rose of its own accord. “As in the bodyguard who’s already under suspicion?”

Mason’s arm tightened around her waist. “He’s not under suspicion. I was trying to prove a point that it could be anyone.”

“That’s right.” She sighed and relaxed into his embrace. “It could be anyone. And until they’re caught, the best thing to do is stay away from each other. There’s no other opti—”

“There’s always another option.” He grazed his teeth along her shoulder, sending a shiver down her spine.

“True. But in this case there is only one option that isn’t ridiculously stupid.”

He growled into her neck, spiking her arousal all over again. They were quiet for long moments, the heat of his chest seeping into her back, his arm making her yearn to spend every night like this.

“Don’t run,” he murmured. “I’m not ready to let you go.”

She bit her lip to fight from sucking in a shuddering breath. She’d dreamed about moments like this—where Mason wanted her, and nothing else in the world could come between them. Only it wasn’t a reality she could afford. Every day she struggled with the regret and was constantly on guard to stop herself from being hurt again.
