Romance in Moonspell

She watched as he shifted back to his human form and she handed him a blanket, thinking he’d wrap it around himself. Instead, he spread it on the ground and held his hand out to her. She went to him without question. Seeing him in an aroused state made her blood heat and she wondered what he’d feel like if she wrapped her hands around his hard cock.
With his gaze on hers, he slowly began undressing her. Her shirt fluttered to the ground and he popped the clasp on her bra, drawing the garment down her arms. Her nipples pebbled in the cool air. Draco reached for the button on her jeans and he unfastened them easily, pushing the worn denim material down her slender legs. Standing before him in nothing but her panties, she should have felt exposed, but she didn’t. She craved his touch, almost as much as she wanted to touch him.
Draco slid her panties down her legs and she kicked them away. Wrapping her arms around his waist, she pressed herself against him, needing to feel her flesh against his. Despite the cool temperature, he was surprisingly warm. He lowered his head and kissed her, his mouth stroking hers. It was a sensual dance of lips and tongues and she never wanted it to end.
When he pulled away, she found herself following him, leaning closer. He lifted her into his arms and carried her over to the blanket he’d spread on the ground. After gently lowering her, he grabbed the other blanket and covered them to ward off the chill, not that they were going to feel the cold for long. Already her skin was warming from his touch and his kiss.
Draco trailed kisses down her neck to her breasts. They felt heavy and full from arousal, something she’d never really experienced before. As his lips skimmed over her nipples, she gasped. They were so sensitive the sensation went straight to her pussy. Threading her fingers in his hair, she held him to her as he licked, sucked and nipped her. His other hand cupped her other breast, gently squeezing and massaging it, teasing the nipple into a hard point. She’d been wet before, but now she was dripping.
“Draco, please. I need…”
He lifted his gaze to hers. “What do you need?”
“More. I need more.”
“Let’s see what I can do about that.” With a grin, he slid down her body and settled between her legs.
Her breath caught in her throat as he parted the lips of her pussy and his mouth latched onto her hot, tender flesh. He lapped at her wet folds, his tongue dragging across her sensitive skin. She shivered and felt her nipples harden further, almost to the point of being painful. The blanket had been kicked aside and the cool air caressed her skin as his mouth created the most delicious sensations. Lacey was warming from the inside out. Her skin felt electrified. He slowly, gently sucked on her clit, taking her to dizzying heights. Waves of pleasure rolled over her. It was the most exquisite torture she’d ever experienced. She never wanted it to end, and at the same time, her body was reaching for that ultimate high, that feeling of completion.
His tongue flicked against her hardened nub, up and down, as his hands gripped her thighs and pulled her closer. Her hands fisted the blanket and her head tossed side to side, as he pushed her ever closer to that elusive feeling of euphoria. His hot, wet mouth sucked on her, drawing long and hard on her clit until she cried out in ecstasy, her orgasm consuming her, as a dull roar filled her ears and a kaleidoscope of lights flickered behind her eyelids. She’d never experienced anything like it before, and thought surely nothing would ever be so perfect ever again.
Having brought her pleasure unlike anything she’d ever known, Draco kissed his way up her body and settled over her, his cock brushing against her wet folds. He smoothed her damp hair back from her face with a gentle hand and smiled down at her. She traced his lips with her thumb and he turned into her hand, kissing her palm.
“It’s going to hurt the first time, love. I’d do anything to keep from hurting you, but it can’t be helped.”
“I know. I don’t care about the pain, Draco. It’s nothing compared to the wonder of being with you.”
He kissed her with infinite tenderness and slowly eased into her, his cock filling, giving her body time to adjust. When he was fully seated, he kissed her jaw and looked down into her eyes.
“Are you okay?”
She nodded. “It didn’t even hurt, not really.”
Claiming her lips once more, he pulled back his hips before sliding into her again. After several slow strokes, he began moving faster, his hips pumping against hers in a steady rhythm. Lacey wrapped her legs around him, taking him in deeper. Her hands gripped his shoulders, feeling the power of his muscular body as he drove into her repeatedly. Every slide and retreat of his cock sent shockwaves of pleasure through her, until her nails were biting into his skin and she was panting for breath.
Making love with Draco was better than any dream she’d ever had. She’d never realized it would be so incredible. As she looked into his eyes, she felt herself falling more deeply under his spell. Lacey had never known love, wasn’t sure if that was what she was feeling now, but her heart was nearly bursting from the emotions filling her.
Draco plunged into her deeper and harder, driving both of them closer and closer to the brink. Lacey wasn’t sure she could stand much more pleasure. She was on sensory overload and thought she might expire from pure bliss, if such a thing were possible. As he thrust into her one last time, spilling himself inside of her, she came, calling his name.
He rolled to his side and gathered her close. The wind danced over their sweat-slickened skin, cooling the heat of their ardor. Lacey felt his heart pounding and realized hers was keeping pace. Already they were coordinated. After just one amazing moment with him, she felt like they’d been together forever. It was unrealistic, and she knew that, but it was how she felt. She felt more connected to him than she had to anyone else in her entire life.
Draco caressed her stomach, his finger tracing a blue dragon that had appeared around her navel. She placed her hand over his.
“What does it mean? The dragon.”
“It means, my delectable mate, that you’re carrying a baby dragon.”
Her eyes widened. “Already? After just one time?”
Draco grinned. “Apparently that’s all it takes. Are you unhappy about it? I know we’re moving fast. Perhaps too fast.”
She kissed his throat, his jaw and then his lips. “No, I’m not unhappy. Scared about the future, but not unhappy.”
“Everything will work out, I promise.”
Chapter Six
She’d dressed while Draco shifted and they’d returned home the previous night with Lacey still feeling the euphoria of their lovemaking. At the house, instead of returning to her room, she followed Draco to his and slept in his arms. She knew she’d had a silly smile on her face all day, but she hadn’t been able to help it. Her customers had commented on it once or twice, but she’d ducked her head shyly and tried to hide the blush that rose to her cheeks. Mavis, however, was no fool and knew exactly what had happened.
“I guess this means you’re sticking around,” the witch said with a smile.
“Yes, but I’m not sure how long I’ll be working at the diner. With Draco’s schedule, I want to be able to spend time with him on his days off and with the days changing every week you wouldn’t be able to put me on the schedule here.”
Mavis nodded. “That’s understandable. True to dragon form, that boy has built a rather substantial fortune. There’s no need for you to work at all.”
“Oh, but I want to! I just have to figure out if there’s something I can do from home. I’m afraid I don’t have very many skills, and most places will want a high school diploma.”
“You know, I didn’t pry when you told me you never graduated, but one day I’d like to hear your story.”
“I imagine the whole town will know it soon enough.”
Mavis gave her a thoughtful look. “Just how much trouble are you in?”
“A lot.”
“Have you spoken to Chief Hale?” Mavis asked. “He may be from a small town, but the man kno
ws what he’s doing. I’m sure he could help.”
Lacey shook her head. “I really don’t think that’s a good idea.”
“So what are you going to do?”
“I don’t know. I think Draco had some ideas.”
“I’m sure the dragon means well, but can you trust him to stand by your side? He’s never had a girlfriend that I know of.”
Lacey smiled. “I’m more than that. I’m his mate.”
“I’ll admit that I know next to nothing about dragons, but shouldn’t you bear some kind of mark? Or is it just hidden?”
“I don’t know about a mark. Draco didn’t mention one.” She wasn’t about to mention the one on her stomach. The pregnancy was between her and Draco, at least for now.
Mavis shook her head. “Well, if he wants to keep the bachelors away from you, he’d better find a way to mark you. Something tells me he won’t take it well if someone hits on you.”
“Probably not.”
“Just tell me this much. Do I need to worry about the chief coming in here to arrest you? Is that why you’re so jumpy every time he comes in?”
Lacey bit her lip. “I’m afraid it’s a possibility.”
Mavis nodded. “Is anyone after you? A private investigator, FBI or something?”
She hesitated. Should she tell Mavis about the guard?
“Your silence says enough. We’ll keep an eye out for strangers.”
Lacey gave the witch a hug. “Thank you, Mavis. You’ve been kind to me ever since I showed up on your doorstep. I’d hate to repay that kindness by bringing trouble to your door.”
“Think nothing of it, sweet pea. We take care of our own around here.”
Tears gathered in Lacey’s eyes. Hearing that she belonged, that she was wanted, was enough to make her throw her arms around Mavis again. It was one thing for Draco to tell her she belonged, but it was quite another to be so readily accepted by the townspeople. She only hoped her newfound happiness wasn’t snatched out of her hands.
Perhaps she should’ve wished a little harder. A few hours later, a familiar man took a seat in her section, his gaze tracking her every move. She wondered what he was up to. Why didn’t he just go to the chief and have her arrested?
She approached the guard, her hands shaking. “What can I get for you?”
“You have a pretty nice set-up here, don’t you, Lacey? It would be a shame for it all to come crumbling down around you, now wouldn’t it?”
She set the coffee pot down before she dropped it.
The guard smiled. “I followed you after you left the Laundromat. That’s a pretty sweet house you’re shacked up in. I would imagine pretty boy would be willing to do almost anything to keep you out of trouble. He does know, doesn’t he?” His smile turned downright chilly. “I know you went to the police, but I also know you wouldn’t be stupid enough to turn me in. If they come after me, they’ll be after you soon enough.”
“Yes, Draco knows,” she said through stiff lips. “What is it you want?”
“I’d be willing to give you information, something that could help clear your name, for a price.”
Should she trust him? Who was to say he wouldn’t take the money and turn her in anyway? Or that he was lying about being able to clear her name? But… the thought of having a fresh start, of being able to have a life with Draco without having to look over her shoulder all the time was almost too good to pass up. Maybe she should talk to Draco, get his opinion on the matter. He’d know what to do.
“Think about it,” the guard said. “I know where to find you. I’ll give you two nights, and then I’ll stop by the house for your answer. If you decide to take me up on my offer, I’ll need twenty-five thousand, in cash.”
So much money? Did Draco have access to that kind of cash? He’d said he wasn’t poor, and his house spoke of wealth, but that was still a lot to ask for. She had no doubt he’d give it to her if he had it. And how could she be sure the guard knew anything? How would he have information on Patrick’s death? It didn’t seem possible, but was she willing to take the risk? If he could clear her name, it would be worth the price he asked.
He lifted the empty coffee cup. “I’ll take that coffee now, and a turkey sandwich with fries.”
She nodded and filled his cup. Scribbling his order on her pad, she returned to the kitchen, where she took a much-needed deep breath. And then another. She had an hour until her shift ended, but it wouldn’t come soon enough. The guard had left her rattled. Lacey didn’t know why he’d changed his mind. He’d seemed intent on taking her in the other night, and now he wanted money to give her information that would set her free. What was the catch? It seemed too good to be true.
She watched uneasily as the guard ate and finally left. She gathered his money, cashing out his ticket and pocketing the change. Surprisingly, he’d left her a halfway decent tip.
Mavis had noticed her trembling. “You okay?”
“I’ll be fine.” Lacey turned away to wait on her other customers.
Lacey finally finished her shift and met Draco outside when he pulled up at the curb. The first thing he’d done that morning was call the fire chief and ask for a few days off. He explained about his newly mated status and that he wanted some time with Lacey. He’d been granted leave and she now had six more days with him. Hopefully that would be enough time to wrap up her little issue. Okay, her big issue. She just had to discuss this latest development with him.
She slid into the car and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
“How was your day?” he asked.
“Busy.”
“I think we need to talk, figure out a plan.”
“I thought we were going to see Dr. Collins?”
He reached over and squeezed her hand. “It seems there’s something we overlooked. When I claimed you as my mate, it altered more than your lifespan. Dr. Collins said that any mental illness you may have had as a regular human would go away once you were mated to a shapeshifter. I’d never really thought about it before, but I’ve never met a shapeshifter with a mental illness before.”
Startled, she looked at him with wide eyes. “You’re saying I’m normal now? No more medication?”
He smiled. “No, no more medication. You can lead a completely normal life from this point forward.”
“Well, that’s good news.” She smiled. “I may have more good news, but I’m not sure.”
“What’s that?”
“I’d rather discuss it at home, if that’s okay? Maybe after a hot shower.”
“If that’s what you want.”
Draco pulled out of the parking space and headed home. She could tell he wanted to know more about her news, but he refrained from asking questions. She wasn’t really sure how much she could tell him. Yes, Draco had said they were mated, but what did that really mean? Would he offer to pay the guard, or would he decide it was too much trouble? If only she knew what information the guard had that would clear her name, maybe then she’d feel more confident thinking about his offer.
When they reached the house, Lacey went straight to the master bedroom and stripped off her clothes. She started the shower and waited for the water to warm. When steam billowed out, she stepped into the watery paradise. It didn’t take long for Draco to find her. He leaned back against the bathroom counter, his hands braced against the counter on either side of his hips.
She pressed her hand against the glass separating them. Her heart fluttered in her chest. She couldn’t wait to feel his hands on her again. “Did you want to join me?”
His lips tipped up on one side. “I was rather enjoying the show.”
Bashfully, she turned away.
“Not so fast, sweetheart. Turn back around.”
She glanced over her shoulder and saw that he was still watching her. It was one thing to want him, but did she have it in her to give him the show he so obviously wanted? What should she do first?
Lacey turned back toward Draco.
“I don’t kn
ow what to do,” she admitted.
“Wash yourself. Move your hands slowly over that delectable body of yours.”
She gathered some shower gel in her hands and smoothed it over her breasts, paying special attention to her nipples. With her gaze on his, her hands glided down her belly and slipped between her legs. She could see the muscles in his arms tense, as if he was fighting the urge to reach for her. She didn’t want him to fight it.
“Spread your legs,” he said in a somewhat hoarse voice.
She parted them on command and watched as he swallowed hard. Good, she was getting to him. Maybe what he needed was a little show. She’d never been so daring in her life, but for Draco she’d reached down deep and find her inner vixen. Reaching up to cup her breast with her free hand, she pinched her nipple.
“That’s it, baby. Make yourself feel good,” Draco said in a near purr.
Parting her folds, she circled her clit, sending shockwaves of pleasure through her body. Her nipples hardened further as she stroked herself. Through half-lidded eyes, she watched Draco as he watched her show. Tension lined his features and his muscles strained against his clothes. She saw he had a white-knuckled grip on the counter and wondered just how far she could push him, how far was too far?
Her fingers teased and tormented her clit, rubbing faster and harder, using tighter and tighter circles. She moaned as her body tingled, needing release, craving it, and yet it remained just out of reach. She closed her eyes, imagining it was Draco’s hands bringing her pleasure, imagining his lips trailing kisses along her throat, picturing his hard, long cock aching to be inside of her.
“Don’t shut me out, kitten. Keep your eyes on me,” he commanded softly. His gaze burned into hers when she snapped her eyes open.
“Draco, I need…”
“What? What is it you need, Lacey?”
“You. I need you.”
