The Crush Revisited
Page 7
“Okay. Ready?” Brandon smiled down at him.
“Ha-ha. Not funny.”
Brandon lowered himself once more onto just the head of Tim’s cock. This time the man was having none of it, and holding Brandon tightly, he thrust in past the ring of muscles and balls-deep.
He wanted to protest, to tell Tim he was setting the pace, but the cock lodged in his ass felt far too good to make any complaint feasible.
“Yeah, yeah, fuck me now,” he said instead.
He pushed down as Tim angled up, both of them setting a frantic, animalistic rhythm that had his four-poster bed banging against the wall. Brandon stroked his own dick with one hand while he clung to Tim with the other for fear the man would buck him right off. It was a little like riding one of those mechanical bulls, if it was drilling your ass at the same time.
Brandon clenched his ass muscles tightly, which gained him a hoarse moan from Tim as he thrust in faster, harder, deeper still. He tilted his head back and shoved himself down roughly to meet every powerful thrust. It was crazy; it was incredible. He couldn’t get enough.
“Yes, yes, yes. Harder. Fuck me harder.”
And Tim did, gripping his hip bones so intensely Brandon knew he would pay for it with bruises. But he didn’t care. All he cared about was the cock pounding his ass, brushing his prostate again and again until he could barely breathe with the intensity. The base of his spine tingled, nerve endings firing up his spine all the way to his neck as his release burst unexpectedly too soon; he’d wanted more, and cum covered his stroking hand and splattered onto Tim’s stomach. Tim shouted something hoarsely. Brandon was too overwhelmed to know what, as he too found his release. He pulled off the softening cock inside him and collapsed onto Tim as the man’s arms came around him.

Tim took a bite of one of the warm chocolate croissants Brandon had fetched for them Sunday morning from a bakery just down the street. Apparently, he had managed to sneak out of bed, get dressed, and leave without Tim ever waking up. Impressive because Tim had been sure he was a light sleeper.
“This is truly sinful,” he told Brandon around another large bite. He reached for his coffee mug.
“Told you.” Brandon smiled. The man managed to look fucking hot with bed hair and wearing holey sweatpants and a threadbare, lemon-yellow T-shirt. Not fair, Tim thought.
“You were definitely right.”
They were sitting on the patio of Brandon’s backyard. It was a perfect sunny Sunday morning. Besides the croissants and coffee, Brandon had brought out a pitcher of freshly squeezed orange juice. Tim could so get used to this. Had to be way better than a stuffy reunion brunch.
Last night had been great. The reunion ball had been fun. He’d seen some people he hadn’t seen in years and probably wouldn’t see again unless he went to his twentieth reunion. Joked around with Lance and Ashtyn, once the man had reappeared. But his favorite part had been dancing with Brandon and then going home with him.
He glanced out over the backyard and noticed at least a dozen rosebushes and other flowers, some of which he didn’t think he knew the names for. To the side was a garden growing tomatoes, lettuce, and other vegetables.
“This is really nice. You did all this?”
Brandon nodded. “With my mom. The backyard was her favorite part of this house. We did a lot of gardening together when I was growing up. When she died…” He stopped and looked away, but not before Tim saw a hint of moisture at the corners of his eyes.
“You really miss her. I’m sorry. I don’t mean to bring up painful memories.”
“It’s okay. I thought for a while I’d let it all go or hire someone to do it for me, but I just can’t. It’s like when I’m out there working in the garden, she’s there with me. I don’t want to lose that.”
“So you never thought of moving out of Lincoln Hill?” Tim took a sip of his coffee. “I bet with your degree and experience you can work in some amazing hotels. Not that the resort isn’t nice. But you’d probably make more money in a big city like New York or Los Angeles.”
Brandon shook his head. “I don’t care about that. I love it here. I like my job. I love my house. I grew up here.”
“I did, too, but I couldn’t wait to leave.” He’d felt at the time that there had to be bigger and better things than Lincoln Hill. For the most part he’d been right, and he hadn’t regretted leaving here.
“I can see why. This doesn’t seem the place for you. Or any of your friends.”
He frowned. Not really sure he liked the finality of that. But he decided he enjoyed being with Brandon too much to press it. He didn’t want to spoil the day with an argument.
“When do you have to be at the resort?”
“One. I have a long day after that, so I may not see you later.”
He tried not to pout or even protest. He was aware he was already pushy, and likewise he was aware Brandon was prickly.
So Tim made himself nod. “All right. Want to take a shower together?”
Brandon smiled for a first time in a few minutes. “Thought you’d never ask.”

Brandon wrapped his arms around Tim’s neck as Tim pushed inside him. He slammed into Brandon again and again, the water from the shower spray sluicing over them as he pinned him against the tile. Brandon’s legs were hiked up high as Tim drove into him deep and thoroughly. He grabbed hunks of Brandon’s wet hair and smashed their mouths together almost brutally.
He reached between their bodies to jerk Brandon’s cock. The sex was rough, frantic, and they couldn’t seem to slow it down if they wanted to. Tim didn’t. Not really. He wanted it to last; that much he did want, because he couldn’t seem to get enough of Brandon, but he just couldn’t make himself go slow. He was becoming addicted. It had never been like this. He should be scared. Was in a way.
Tim pushed aside those thoughts and concentrated on fucking Brandon against the shower’s slippery tile. Tim rode him harder still, pounding into him. Brandon’s cock jumped in his hand, and then the man was yelling, biting Tim’s shoulder as cum shot from his dick.
As though his own cock had only been waiting for the signal from Brandon, Tim came hard enough to make his knees buckle. They both detangled their limbs and dropped to the bottom of the large glass shower, panting heavily.
His knees bent to his chest, Tim rested his head on his crossed arms. “You all right?”
“Sore. Damn.”
Tim knew he was blushing, so he was glad his face was hidden. Not that he was sorry or anything. Exactly. But he supposed he could have been a little less…enthusiastic. Nah. “Sorry. I guess two times is probably your limit that close together.”
“Two times like that? That’s anybody’s limit.”
Tim raised his head and stared at Brandon, who was leaning his head against the tile, his eyes closed. “You didn’t enjoy?”
“I definitely did. Still sore.”
“If I were a Viking, I’d be proud of that or something.”
Brandon opened an eye and glared at him. “You’re not. You’re a lawyer.”
He nodded. “Yeah. So I’m really sorry instead. I’m hoping that doesn’t mean you won’t see me again?”
Brandon snorted. “Enough with the puppy dog eyes. I’ll see you again. Though not tonight.” He winced. “What do you have planned today? Can’t be to stalk me.”
“Hey, I may be close to a stalker but I’m not quite there,” he protested. “I think we’re doing horseback riding at noon and then the pool party at two.”
“You? Horseback riding?”
“What is wrong with that?”
“I don’t know.” Brandon shrugged. “You seem too citified for that.”
“Admittedly I’m not going to put on a hat, boots, and spurs, but I went a time or two when I was a kid.” He reached over to wipe a droplet of water that clung to Brandon’s nose. Brandon smirked. “Okay. Good. You should spend time with your friends enjoying the resort. They aren’t
staying as long as you, are they?”
He shook his head. “No, they both leave tomorrow. I’ll be here until Wednesday.”
“Good,” Brandon said again. “Now if I can just move, I can get ready for work.”
“Maybe we should wash off before we get dressed.”
“Yeah, but I’m finishing my shower without you,” Brandon said. “You can’t keep your hands to yourself.”
“Guilty as charged, your honor.”
Chapter 12
After dropping Tim off at the resort at eleven, Brandon went to meet Veronica for coffee, since he still had a couple of hours until he had to work. Plus he figured he owed her some time.
So he met her at the coffee shop a couple of blocks from the resort. She was already seated at a little table in the corner with two blended coffee drinks in front of her. He took his seat across from her and grabbed the one he knew she had picked up for him.
“Save it,” she said when he pushed money at her. “You get it next time.”
Brandon eyed her. She looked…well, haggard. Her dyed blonde hair had been piled haphazardly on top of her head, she wore no makeup—unusual for Veronica these days—and she had dark circles under her eyes. “If I didn’t know better, I’d say it was ten years ago back in high school. Rough night?”
Veronica had had a drug-addicted mother who went through one drunken boyfriend after another. Best time of your life? Would he go back to high school? Not in a million years.
She groaned. “I have a hangover, if you must know. I’m too old for this drinking and partying stuff.”
“I did notice you and Jimmy knocking back a few at the ball.” He took a sip of his iced coffee. “You did take a cab home, right?”
“Yes, of course. I didn’t expect to have so much fun dancing with my man in front of the bitches.”
“Bitches?”
“The cheerleaders mostly. And all the other chicks who treated me like shit. Us. You remember.”
Brandon did, yeah, but he didn’t dwell on it too much. He already had enough issues to dwell on. “I’m glad you had fun. Did Jimmy?”
“He did. He was downright giggly and frisky when he got home.” She waggled her eyebrows.
He laughed.
“Speaking of, I saw Tim ogling you last night.”
“Yeah.”
“Did you spend the night together?”
“You’re awful nosy.”
Veronica snorted. “Like you didn’t already know that. Did you?”
“Uh-huh. I dropped him off at the resort before coming here.”
“You’re getting stuck on him again, aren’t you?”
He raised an eyebrow. “Stuck on him? We aren’t in high school anymore.”
“I know that, and you know what I mean, so stop deflecting. You know he’s just here for the reunion, Brandon.”
“Yes, and I am fine. I’m not falling for him,” he told her, and to himself he sounded pretty convincing. He was proud of that.
“Are you sure? You aren’t generally the casual-sex type.”
Brandon scowled. “I can do casual sex.”
“I know you can, but you don’t.”
“I have.”
“Who?”
Brandon huffed and thought about it. “That guy Nelson in San Francisco. I went there for business three years ago, and we had sex that weekend.”
Veronica nodded. “Okay, I do remember him. Bicurious, wasn’t he?”
“Yeah. And there were a few others. I’ve even had one-night stands,” Brandon insisted. “Trust me. I can do this casual thing with Tim.”
“If you say so.”
“I do.” He did. Sure, he liked Tim. A lot. Who wouldn’t? The guy was good-looking and great at sex. But that was all it was. No matter how intense and soft his gaze got when he looked at Brandon. It didn’t really mean anything. Brandon had to keep reminding himself of that. Or he might actually do what Veronica accused him of and fall for Tim.
“Anyway,” Veronica said. “I’m sorry I haven’t been much help with keeping him away from you. I was supposed to do better as your BFF.”
“It’s all right. It turned out I didn’t really want to be kept away from him. But honestly I can’t wait for tomorrow morning when the bulk of them leave.”
“But not Tim. You aren’t anxious for him to leave, are you?” She gave him a knowing look over her iced coffee.
“No. I’m not.”
* * * *
The horseback riding had been more fun than Tim had expected, mostly because Ashtyn and Lance had him in stitches with their stories and banter.
But the truth was he would have liked it more if Brandon had been with them. He knew that hadn’t been possible. Brandon was an employee at the resort, not there for the reunion and certainly not there to entertain Tim.
When they returned, they all changed into their bathing suits and headed for the pool. The reunion committee would be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs as well as serving beer and margaritas. The three of them grabbed lounge chairs next to each other and plopped down to survey the other arriving partyers.
Tim wondered if Brandon would be at this event or if he would be busy with other things. He hadn’t really said when Brandon dropped him off earlier. He knew Brandon had been pretty insistent they wouldn’t spend Sunday night together, but Tim still hoped if he caught Brandon somewhere at the resort, he could try to change Brandon’s mind.
Ashtyn eyed the little outdoor bar. “I’m going to grab a margarita. What do you guys want?”
“Same.”
“Me, too,” Lance said. “Can you carry three?”
“I’m a man of many talents,” Ashtyn assured them and sauntered off toward the bar.
Tim had half expected a Speedo out of Ashtyn, but he wore typical men’s swim trunks in white. “What do you think is up with him?”
Lance shrugged. “Who knows? He’s always been into his own thing.”
“How about you? Are you okay?”
His friend grimaced. “Yeah. It’s hard to believe this weekend is almost over. I fly back tomorrow. You were smart to stay a few extra days.”
“Yeah.” He was especially happy it would mean seeing Brandon for little longer. Or he hoped so anyway. “I’m not anxious to get back to the firm. I’ve got a busy workload of cases, and I barely managed to get this time off. How about your bakery? Did you leave it in good hands while you were away?”
Prior to the reunion, when he and Lance had talked about meeting up there, Lance had mentioned he’d opened a bakery in Portland, where he lived now. When they were young, Lance had always talked about going to culinary school to be a pastry chef, and Tim had been glad when his friend’s dream had come true.
“I have a few employees I can rely on,” Lance said. He frowned. “Todd had provided some of the money for me to open it, though, so I’m in the process of getting the money together to pay him back.”
“Shit, I’m sorry. I didn’t know.”
“Breaking up is hard to do.” Lance smiled self-mockingly. “I’ll get through it. Life goes on.”
Ashtyn came back from the bar, holding a tray with three strawberry margaritas on it. He handed one to Tim and then one to Lance before sipping from his own. “Ah, paradise.”
Tim snorted. “Lincoln Hill? Hardly.”
“You don’t miss the old town?” Ashtyn asked. “Either of you?”
“I sometimes do,” Lance said. “It was quieter here. Slower. Now I’m in a big city, and it’s like I never can relax.”
“What about you, Timmy?” Ashtyn raised his eyebrow.
“I don’t really think so. It wasn’t the worst place to grow up, but miss it? Nah.”
“I do. I miss the way it made me feel.” Ashtyn looked unexpectedly sad. But as though it were an illusion, he suddenly smiled. “So, tell me, darling, how goes your carousing with the charming Brandon?”
“Good.”
“Good?” Lance shook his head. “You spent the night with him
again, didn’t you?”
“Yes.”
“I’d say he’s better than good then,” Lance said, playing with the umbrella in his margarita. “You aren’t getting serious about him, are you, Tim?”
No, no, he couldn’t be. It wouldn’t work. He lived in Los Angeles, and Brandon lived here. Long-distance relationships were disasters. And who said he wanted a relationship anyway?
“No. It’s just great sex, that’s all. I’m leaving Wednesday, and that’s it.”
Ashtyn smirked. “Okay. And speaking of great sex. Did I see you in the hallway after the ball with that hot little bellhop, Lance?”
Tim stared at Lance, who had turned crimson. “A bellhop? What’s this?”
“Lance got lucky.”
“Shut up,” Lance said, but not too crossly. “Maybe I did. So what?”
Ashtyn shrugged.
“Anyway.” Lance narrowed his eyes. “What about you? What did you do last night? You seemed to be pretty interested in Zach Parker.”
“The only one interested in Zach is himself.”
Tim nodded. “Some things never change. He was always full of himself.”
“I fly directly to Miami from here,” Ashtyn told them. “We’re filming at a fashion show. What’s everyone else doing?”
* * * *
“Brandon?”
He tried to pull his attention back to what Sue, his staff member in charge of the pool party, had been saying to him. He’d just come out to the resort pool to make sure the party was running smoothly when he stopped to talk to Sue not far from where Tim and his friends had been sitting in their lounge chairs, sipping margaritas.
Brandon had even planned to stop and say hello when he was finished checking with Sue. But he’d been close enough to hear much of their conversation, though he hadn’t meant to eavesdrop.
Brandon wondered exactly what he had expected to hear out of Tim’s mouth. After catching Tim saying, “No. It’s just great sex, that’s all,” Brandon had tuned out Tim and his friends as well as Sue.
“Brandon? Are you all right?” Sue asked again.
He plastered a smile on his face. “Yeah, I’m fine. Sounds like everything is going smoothly, Sue. Thanks for all your hard work. Come see me after the party.”
