“You’d started training him before you left. Rusty and I continued to work together. He knows I don’t like to be jumped on, so when he comes to me, he just wags his tail.”

“Good boy.” Justin ruffled Rusty’s fur. He stood to hug Morgan. “I’m so proud of you. This is a great surprise, and I smell your wonderful roast. Let’s eat. I’m starved.”

Starting to speak, Ethan caught the warning look in Morgan’s eyes. She winked at him and shook her head. “I’ll have it on the table in a jiffy.”

  * * * *

She went into the kitchen and Justin followed. “What can I do to help?”

“Not a thing. You’re the honored guest. Sit.” She pushed him toward a chair. “I’ll pour you a glass of wine to enjoy while you watch me put the food on the table.”

Justin leaned back in the chair, balancing on the two back legs. He admired her sweet ass as she bent to remove the roast from the oven. “It’s good to be back,” he said to her and Ethan, who had joined them and leaned against the doorframe. “Do you have to go anywhere soon?” he asked Ethan.

“We’re still trying to find out the main guys’ names in the gun-trading business. None of the men we’ve questioned have known the top two. If anything cracks on that case, I’ll probably be heading out. But for now, Morgan has to put up with both of us.”

She glanced around at them. “Like that’s going to be difficult. I’m thrilled to have you both home for whatever time we get.”

“Maybe you should tell Justin your other surprise before he starts eating. He might choke on his food if you tell him then.”

“Another surprise. I never expected all this.” He spread his hands to encompass the meal and Rusty standing by Morgan’s feet.

“Rusty goes with her everywhere,” Ethan said. “If he doesn’t like someone and they come near her, he growls and shows his teeth. He’s become her best protector for when we can’t be here.”

“But, I do have a more important surprise,” Morgan said. She turned from the stove and came to stand in front of Justin. He lowered his chair and pulled her onto his lap. He kissed her and nibbled on her lower lip.

“I had a taste of you. I’m ready. Give it to me.”

  “We’re having a baby.”

  Justin blinked. “What?”

“A baby. You know they come about nine months after having sex with your husbands.”

He jumped up and twirled her around in his arms. “We are going to be dads? Did you hear that, Ethan?”

Ethan grinned. “I knew. After she started getting sick every morning I took her to see one of the gynecologists, Dr. Mullins. Morgan was afraid you might not be as enthused as I am. I think you put her fears to rest.”

“He did,” Morgan said. “But if he twirls me again, I may throw up on him, like I did on you the first day we met.”

“Sorry, darlin’. I didn’t hurt you and the baby, did I?” He bent to stare into her eyes.

“We’re not that fragile. Now let me get this food on the table.”

“Wow. What a homecoming.” Justin slapped Ethan on the shoulder. “We did well.”

“Before you give yourselves too much credit, remember I was there, too.”

“Ah, darlin’, we’d never forget you. Not even when I tried hard, I couldn’t erase your pretty face and sweet body from my mind.”

Ethan motioned her into a chair. “We’ll do the rest of the work and clean up. You need to rest.” He gave her a quick kiss.

“Hmm, this might not be too bad, being spoiled by two hunky cowboys.” She gave them each a once-over look.

“One more sexy smile like that, darlin’, and we won’t eat this meal till late tonight,” Justin warned.

“A perfect meal, two handsome, sexy cowboys, and chocolate cake for dessert.” She winked, then squealed with laughter when they scooped her up and headed to the bedroom.
