She laughs. “Oh, please, do I need to give you a math lesson? You are not sixteen inches in length. I know you’d like to think you are, but you’re not.”
“Yeah, well, this is no replacement for the real thing, so don’t you forget it. When you’re pleasuring yourself, I want to be the one doing it, and since I can’t be there, then I had better at least be on the phone with you, hearing you scream my name.”
Placing both of her hands on my face, Lex stands on her tip toes and kisses me before saying, “You got it, big boy. I love you.”
The doorbell rings just a few moments later. Lex hasn’t even left yet, but the overwhelming urge to hold on and not let go is taking over. Opening the front door, I find Braedyn, Rylee, and Roe.
“She ready?” Braedyn asks.
“Yeah, she’s ready. Not sure I am, though.”
“It’ll be OK, Gauge. You’re doing the right thing, and she’ll be with family. I know you only briefly met Jaxson and Rosie at the wedding, but they're good people. They’ll take care of Lexie. She won’t be alone, and she’ll have support.”
“I know. Still doesn’t make it any easier.”
“Hey, based on what you’ve told me, I don’t think she’ll be there that long. It doesn’t sound like her mom is in the best shape. I know Lex’s hoping for a miracle, but I don’t have a good feeling about it. Have the two of you discussed what to do if that happens?”
“Nope, she doesn’t want to think that way. She wants to stay positive and only send positive vibes her mom's way. She’ll be devastated, and I won’t be able to be there for her.”
“We’ll be there for a week with her. I’ll see what information I can get about her mom’s condition and let you know.”
“Let’s get this show on the road,” Braedyn calls to everyone as he turns to walk away.
“Braedyn.”
He stops and turns. “Yeah.”
“That’s my world you have with you. Take care of her, and don’t let anything happen to her, you hear me?”
“Yeah, I hear you.”
Ashes To Ashes
AS I FEARED, Lex’s mom’s condition is worse than originally thought. The cancer is spreading fast even with the radiation and chemo they are putting her through.
When Braedyn returned two months ago, he said things didn’t look so good. I never heard those words from Lex; she is still in denial that her mom isn’t going to get any better.
I talk with Lex on the phone every day and sometimes several times a day. She is not in a good place emotionally, and neither am I. I miss her terribly, and the inability to take away her pain is killing me. I can give her brief moments of solace with phone sex, but even those moments become few and far between. My woman is losing interest in anything that gives her pleasure, and I can’t do anything to help her.
In the past, I turned to drugs to cope with the emotions I was feeling. There are many times I am tempted to do so now, but then I think about what I will be losing if I slip down that rabbit hole again, which is just enough to keep me on the straight and narrow. That doesn’t mean I don’t find the bottom of a bottle several nights a week.
When I absolutely can’t take her being gone anymore, I make a special visit to my parole officer to plead my case. Because I have no relationship with Lex’s mom, I am denied.
Two weeks later, I find myself once again begging for travel approval from my PO. Lex’s mom passed, and she broke down. I don’t even hear it from her; Rosie is the one to call and tell me. My PO gives me seven days to get there, take care of business, and get back home.
I catch the first flight out that same day and have Rosie pick me up at the airport. When I walk through the front door, I find Lex in her room, curled into the fetal position and fast asleep. I stand there in the doorway for a moment, taking in the sight of my woman. She is thin; it looks as if she lost ten pounds while she’s been gone. I try to be quiet and not wake her, but something causes her to open her eyes, and when she does, she breaks down into tears.
The pain in her eyes brings me to my knees in front of her, holding out my arms as she lunges herself into them, grabbing hold of me and not letting go.
“Shh, Lex, I’m here, baby.”
“How are you here? I didn’t think you could leave.”
“Lex, there was no way I was going to leave you alone right now. If they hadn't given me the approval to leave the state, I would have done it anyway.”
“She’s gone, Gauge, and I don’t know what to do.” She cries so hard snot runs from her nose, and her eyes are almost swollen shut. Barely able to catch a breath, she goes on. “It was different the last four years. I knew I could reach out to her if I had to, but now, I’ll never get to hear her voice again. I’ll never feel her arms around me to give me comfort, and all I’ll ever remember is how she looked when she took her last breath.”
“Oh, Lex, I wish I could have been there for you, but I’m here now, and I’ll take care of everything.”
“I want her home with me, Gauge. I want her buried in Arizona, but that’s not possible. The family will wonder why she would be buried there. They’d know.”
“You let me worry about that. I promise you I’ll take care of everything.”
We crawl into bed, where I hold her for hours while she cries herself to sleep. My brain quickly devises a plan on how to make things right for my woman. I know I am going to need the help, and the last person I want to ask for help from is the only person who can give it: Uncle Jacob.
Jacob is already here in Houston. He was called immediately when things started turning for the worse. Using Lex’s phone, I make the call, and he agrees to meet me in an hour at a bar just down the road from where we are located.
When I return back to Lex, we have a plan. Lex’s mom will be cremated, and her ashes will leave with us back to Arizona, where Lex is free to do whatever she wants with them. Jacob will inform the family that he had the body cremated and will return with an urn filled with sand that can be placed in the vault next to Lex’s dad. Jacob wasn't happy with this idea at first, but after I explained how torn up Lex is, he agreed. It’s the least he could do considering everything she gave up for her freedom.
“I can’t believe you did all that for me, Gauge.”
“For you, Red, I’d do anything, haven’t you learned that by now? Now, come over here and let me hold you for awhile. I’ve missed you too much.”
Lex lies in my arms, and I let her sleep. For the first time since I arrived, I see peace in her face.
I wake to the feel of a warm hand around my cock, stroking me gently. When I look down, I see the sheepish grin on my woman's face, which means she knows exactly what she is doing.
“You trying to wake the beast, Red?”
“Wake it and tame it all at once, Gauge.”
“Woman, you are playing with fire. Are you ready for what you’re going to get? It’s been months, and there is no way I’m going to be able to be gentle with you.”
Flipping us both over, I nestle my cock between her legs, rubbing against her core so she can feel just how hard she has made me. Without any hesitation, I slide my briefs off and then grab hold of her thong with one hand and yank, ripping it from her body and tossing it to the floor.
“Oh God,” she cries.
My mouth engulfs her left areola, and my teeth bite at her nipple, causing her to cry out further as I squeeze her breast. Her back arches off the bed, wanting more, and I give it to her. My teeth leave marks of my love for her on both of her breasts. Marks that only make me harder when I look at them.
I am a ravaged man, needing to dominate and control, and I do it the only way I know how. “Lex, get on your hands and knees. Now, babe.”
“Yes, sir.”
It has been too long since I heard those words, and I almost explode just from the sound of them. With my left hand, I grab her hair tightly and pull back, causing her to cry out in pain.
“You want my cock, Red?”
“Yes, I want all of it.”
“You woke the beast, now you’re gonna pay the price,” I growl as I plunge into her with one hard thrust, burying every inch of my length inside her. The entry of my cock into her soaked pussy nearly makes me come, and each stroke keeps me hovering on the brink. I don’t expect her to come from my punishing strokes, but she does, soaking my cock with her juices. Throwing back my head, I groan as my own orgasm explodes.
“Wow, that was fast,” she chuckles.
Slapping her ass hard enough to turn it a beautiful shade of red, I tell her, “Too fast. I think round two is in order.” My cock is growing hard again as I speak the words.
Several hours later, after we have both showered and dressed, I promise Lex I’ll take her out for a nice dinner. When we exit the bedroom, Rosie is sitting on the couch with Penney.
“Ya’ll release all those bad toxins you’ve been storing up?”
“Oh my God, I’m so embarassed,” Lex says as her face turns a bright shade of red.
“We were that loud, were we?” I ask.
“Well, let’s just say, I thought I was gonna have to dial 911 if I heard one more scream,” Rosie says. “I had to send Penney outside to play.”
“Yeah, you shouldn’t yell at Aunt Lexie, Uncle Gauge, it's not nice.” Penney scowls and shakes her finger at me.
Home Sweet Home
IT TAKES LEX and me a good month to get our lives back in order once we return. I asked Lex if she wanted to keep the ashes at our apartment, but she said no. She wanted her mom to have her own space, plus she said it would creep her out. We found a cemetery to house Lex’s mom's ashes, so whenever Lex needs, she can visit.
I am kicking back on the couch watching Sports Central when a pounding at the door keeps me from hearing what is being said. “What the fuck do you want?” I yell as I open the door, expecting to find anyone but Braedyn there.
“You motherfucker,” he exclaims.
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me. I told Rylee we shouldn’t open our home to you. I told her bad shit follows you, but she convinced me otherwise, and now not only have you risked the safety of my wife and kid, but that of my brother-in-law and his family.”
“What the fuck are you talking about? I’ve done no such thing.”
“Why didn’t you tell me Lexie’s family was hooked up? I’d have never agreed to your Texas idea if I’d known.”
“You think I would put your family at risk if I thought there was any risk at all? Besides, how did you find out who her family is?”
“Mr. Stevens. He called Dad and wanted to know when he got connections to the mob. Imagine Dad’s surprise to find out who Lexie’s mom was.”
“Christ, Lex hasn’t been close to her family for over four years. As far as anyone knows, she’s dead.”
“What the fuck did you just say?” Braedyn questions in disbelief.
“Four years ago, her mom and dad buried her. They wanted her to have a normal life outside of the family, so they severed all ties with her and let her walk away. The only people who knew she is still alive were her brother and mom, and both of them are dead, and her Uncle Jacob, but he isn’t saying anything.”
“He isn’t saying anything for now, but what happens when it becomes his best interest for everyone to know she isn’t really dead? Did you ever think of that and what type of risk that puts on our family? Jesus, I knew you couldn’t be trusted. You’ve always found a way to get into trouble; first as a kid and then as an adult. Having you around is hazardous, so stay away from my family.”
“You don’t know shit,” I yell at him. “You have no idea what trash you are spewing. I’ll give you that, I got into trouble as a kid, even as a teenager, but I didn’t go looking for trouble as an adult. You think you know everything about me, but you have no idea.”
“You tell me what I don’t know, because what I see is a brother who couldn’t handle the stress of his job protecting the innocent and found it more profitable to run drugs and be a part of a gang. That’s why you went to prison, and that’s why you’ll always be trash.”
“I’m going to forget you said that, Braedyn, because I know you are talking out of your ass, and even though you don’t deserve an answer, I’m going to give you one. I never left the force. Not once did I slack on my oath to protect and to serve. I was undercover, you dumb fuck. I couldn’t risk anything happening to you or Mom or Dad, so I cut ties with all of you. Don’t think that was easy, either, because it wasn’t, and when I really needed my family, I couldn’t reach out to them for help. I didn’t go to prison because I was on the wrong side of the law; I went because I was an idiot with a drug problem. I didn’t know how to feed my addiction, so I’d take a little here and there from the evidence of my busts. I was still a cop, you idiot, when I went to prison. Do you think that was easy on me? No, you don’t know shit about anything, but you seem to know everything. Now, get out of my house before I lay you out for being an inconsiderate asshole.”
Slamming the door in his face, I go back to the couch to finish watching TV, still fuming mad when Lex gets home several hours later. The minute she sees me, she knows something is wrong.
“Gauge, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing, Lex, just let it go. Braedyn and I aren’t seeing eye-to-eye, and that’s all you need to know.”
I’m not normally short with her, but I don’t want to talk about it. I just need a little time to calm down. I hope that three days will be enough; otherwise, I am going to kill someone at Sunday dinner.
Braedyn and I say maybe ten words to each other at Sunday dinner, which is fine with me. He needs to apologize; I’m not going to let him slide on this one. Luckily, the main topic of discussion is Roe’s baptism.
In good old fashioned, motherly style, our mom makes it perfectly clear that Roe needs to be baptized. We’re Catholic, and Catholic children don’t go through life not being baptized, so Brae and Rylee better get working on that right away. She is pretty much laying the gauntlet down and telling them how to raise their kid.
Rylee agrees with Mom; it is officially now the family priority, and the planning has already begun. Because Rylee is Rylee and Braedyn will give her anything she wants, Jaxson is officially decided upon as the godfather and Lex as the godmother. To say I am shocked that they want Lex as the godmother considering everything that went down with Braedyn is an understatement.
Lex is excited and honored, and the prospect of seeing Rosie and Penney again is an added bonus. She became very close to them during the several months she spent in their home. Rosie became a source of support when she needed it and I wasn’t there to provide it. Yes, that is still a bit of a sore subject for me.
As the women plan dates and times, my father asks me to join him and Braedyn in his study.
“Gauge, I know your brother didn’t handle this well, and to say I’m extremely disappointed in him is an understatement.”
“Ah, come on, Dad, that’s not fair.”
“Braedyn, you were wrong, son. You could have handled the news better. What you did and said to your brother was inappropriate and not how you were raised. Now, that being said, Gauge, is there anything we need to be concerned about in regards to Lexie's family?”
“No, sir, as I tried to tell Braedyn, Lex has been estranged from her family for over four years. Yes, her family has ties to organized crime, but four years ago, her dad turned it around and with the help of the Feds and to protect Lex, they faked her death. As far as anyone in the family or in business with her dad knows, his daughter died over four years ago. The only one who knows she is alive is her Uncle Jacob, and I don’t feel there is anything to be concerned about there. That’s why I devised the Texas idea. It was the only way she could be with her mom and no one would be the wiser.”
“So, you’re saying we don’t have anything at all to be worried about. You hear that, Braedyn? You have nothing to be worried about.”
Braedyn doesn’t seem to be as confid
ent about it as I am. I can tell he is still a bit uneasy about the whole thing, but then he always was a good kid, sheltered from everything that is bad.
“Braedyn, I think you owe your brother an apology, don’t you, son?”
“Dad, don’t worry about it. Braedyn doesn’t need you to make him apologize. He’ll do it if he feels he needs to. I don’t want anything that isn’t sincere.”
“Dad’s right, Gauge, I owe you an apology. I’m not so sure I believe we have nothing to worry about, but I’m going to go against everything I feel and believe, and trust you wouldn’t put us all in danger.”
“Apology accepted, and if we are done here, I’m going to grab my woman and take her home.”
“Night, son, be safe.”
You Want What?
FOR RYLEE BEING a wedding planner, her skills at planning a baptism stink. You would think a party is a party, right? But apparently, when it involves your family, it is not the same. Supposedly, she had the same issues when planning her own wedding. I would have never guessed, because from what I witnessed, it was pretty darn good.
Like their wedding, everything is planned around Jaxson’s riding schedule, so the soonest date that will work for everyone is August. Lex is taking her godmother duties very seriously, which means that we’ve become occasional babysitters.
Lex is great with baby Roe; motherly instincts seem to be instilled in her. Kind of like a kitten knowing how to use the litter box without any formal training. She’ll kill me if she hears me refer to it that way, but that’s the simplest way I can explain it.
What does please me more than anything is that Lex quit working at the club and went back to school to finish her business major. When she isn’t studying, she is helping Rylee with her wedding planning business. Rylee is teaching her the ropes, and Lex enjoys learning. The added plus is that she gets to spend extra time with Baby Roe.
