  Something had happened to her body and she wasn’t sure what it was or if it was supposed to.   Chapter 16

  Tamar sat in her car with Depends on watching every move Edward and Felicia made. Her latest stunt almost got her caught. She left a dead rat with a knife through its chest at their front door. Security was extra tight around here lately but Tamar was extremely patient. She knew the security would eventually need to go to the bathroom and when they did she moved like a damn ninja. The police had already been to her house but her mother and sisters vouched for her whereabouts, thank God!

  She had been doing everything in her power to break them up. “That damn women just won’t leave him alone!” Tamar said to herself. She couldn’t wait for them to get home to see what she had done next. That damn woman needs to go on about her business and leave Edward to her. She can’t do him like I can anyway.

  Eddie and Felicia were happy to get home so they could start packing. Edward went down the basement to get some boxes out of the storage room. Felicia kicked her shoes off and started to relax on the couch then decided against it.

  “Come on girl, get to work before you get sleepy.” Felicia said out loud to herself.

  Felicia went into the baby’s room and got some plastic totes out. There was a strange smell in the room and Felicia went to open up the window to get some fresh air in the room. Something caught her eye and lying in the bassinet were four dead newborn kittens with their heads cut off. Blood covered the inside of the bassinet. Felicia screamed and ran out of the apartment and ran straight into Eddie.

  “Whoa! Where’s the fire?” Eddie joked.

  Felicia was hyperventilating by now. Then she took off running for the sink and threw up in the kitchen sink.

  Eddie was standing there wondering what the hell was going on.

  “Baby, what is wrong?”

  “Go look in the bassinet.” Felicia was finally able to get out.

  Eddie waked back into the baby’s room and when he saw what was inside of the bassinet she bust out the room.

  “Come on, get out of here.”

  They stood in the hallway and Eddie called the police.

  It seemed like they waited forever but in reality it was only like twenty minutes. The police once again said that there was no proof that Tamar Harlot was behind any of this. Edem showed up when Eddie called him and they stood outside talking. Eddie leaned against the window staring out the window lost in thought when he saw what he thought was Tamar’s car parked in front of the their building. Being so far up he couldn’t be true but he had a feeling and he took off running.

  “Eddie!” Felicia screamed after him. Edem took off running behind him.

  Eddie use to run track so he was going down on the elevator by the time Edem reached him. Edem jumped on the second elevator. Eddie ran out the front and he was right he spotted Tamar sitting in her car. She was so busy looking down trying to open up some chips for her stakeout that she didn’t see Eddie approaching her car. Eddie damn near ripped the door off of the hinges and he grabbed Tamar and pulled her out the car.

  “Stay the fuck away from me and my wife you crazy bitch!” he didn’t hit her but he shook the shit out of her before Edem got to him and pulled him off of her.

  “Fuck you AND your wife! You can’t prove shit! I’ll do what the hell I want to do and there ain’t a damn thing you can do about it. So fuck you! That’ll teach you not to fuck with a bitch like me! You can’t stop me! Next time it won’t be some damn kittens it’s gonna be that thing she’s carrying!” Tamar screamed.

  “Leave us alone!”
Eddie screamed at her over Edem’s shoulder.

  One of the officers who had just pulled up ran over to them and hemmed Eddie up against the car. He called for backup.

  “Your backup is up there.” Edem pointed towards the penthouse and tried to explain to no avail.

  “How you gonna arrest me and this crazy bitch has been stalking me and my wife?”

  “Be quiet nigger if you know what’s good for you.” The racist officer said.

  “Nigger? Sir call Officer Hudson, he can fill you on everything.” Edem tried to tell him but the officer threw him up against the car and handcuffed him too.

  “Ma’am, are you alright?” The officer directed his attention to Tamar who was now crying crocodile tears and putting on a show.

  “You saved my life I think he was about to kill me.” Tamar lied.

  “Sir, you are making a mistake.” Edem attempted to remain calm.

  Eddie was having a fit cursing the officer and Tamar out.

  “Eddie, would you shut up!” Edem told him.

  Felicia made it down to car with Officer Winslow in tow.

  “Why is my husband and brother in law handcuffed? This is the woman you should be handcuffing. Tell them what you did Tamar. We know it was you!” Felicia lunged towards Tamar.

  “Ma’am you need to calm down before I have to restrain you.” The racist officer said.

  “Let me talk to you over here.” Officer Winslow said to the racist offer. They went and stood by the officer’s patrol car and were talking for a long time then they came back to Tamar’s car.

  “Today is your lucky day, Pastor.” The racist officer said to the Blanks brothers with a sarcastic tone as he handcuffed them..

  Then Officer Winslow questioned Tamar. He spotted the bag of Depends and all the empty snack bags and fast food bags in the car. To him it looked suspicious, a woman her age shouldn’t be wearing Depends adult diapers.

  Edem was still trying to calm Eddie down as he threatened to sue the officer and got his badge number. This young kid came up to them and said I saw the entire thing I recorded it.

  “Let me look at it,” Edem asked. The young guy played the video for Edem. He caught everything on tape. “Can you send this to my phone young man?”

  “No problem.” Edem gave him his cell number and within seconds Edem had the proof they needed to catch Tamar.

  He walked over to Officer Winslow and the racist officer and showed him the video. Officer Winslow went back to Tamar’s car and questioned her about what was said on the tape and she denied it.

  “Ma’am, you’re under arrest for stalking and breaking and entering.” Officer Winslow told her.

  Tamar went into a maniacal laugh and everyone just stared at her. He put her in the back of Officer racist’s car and went insane. She started kicking and screaming trying to kick the windows out.

  “I can take her down right now.”

  “No, we’ll wait, I would feel more comfortable with a woman especially since you have issues with NIGGERS I wouldn’t dare leave one alone with you.” Officer Winslow snapped.

  Officer racist huffed as he sat in his car waiting on someone to transport the suspect.

  “The best thing that I can tell you is take a restraining order out on the young lady. She’ll probably make bail tonight.”

  “Are you serious?” Felicia threw her hands up in the air. “This is ridiculous! So she can just come into our home and terrorize us?”

  “Felicia, calm down, look y’all can stay with me until your house is ready.” Edem put his arm around her to calm her down.

  “Eddie, I’m not going back into that apartment. I swear I’m not.”

  “Don’t worry about it, like Edem said we can stay with him.”

  Officer Winslow walked over to the Blanks. “We’re going to need you all to come down to the station to file a report.”

  “That’s fine, let me go get my wife’s purse and shoes.”

  Felicia looked down at her feet and realized she didn’t have on shoe the first.

  Chapter 17

  Bernice Watkins was a nosey old bird. She was like a dog with a bone when she was trying to figure out something and the Harlot sisters were on here brain. Delilah had left her brother in financial ruin, having gone through all of his savings. So Bernice did what she did best. She got on the horn and started digging for information.

  Bernice dug for days before she hit pay dirt by accident. She was speaking with her cousin from Charlotte and was telling her all of Dennard’s business when her cousin Lullabee said hold up. I know that Harlot family. Lullabee gave Bernice the entire run down on the family. Now everything made sense. The way they popped up out of nowhere and how they integrated themselves into First Assembly.

  Bernice couldn’t wait to tell her dear friend Eloise exactly what they were dealing with. She was heated and when she had something stuck in her craw it wasn’t good. Bernice went upstairs to take her house dress off and throw on a jogging suit. She grabbed her purse and headed to the car. First stop was at the church because Eloise wasn’t answering her phone but she wasn’t there. Then she tried her at home and she wasn’t there either. She left another message on her cell.

  “Eloise, I got all the dirt on the Harlot family. We have got to get these devils out of our church. I’m on my way to confront them now. Call me as soon as you get this!”

  So she took it upon herself to go confront Lilith Harlot. She pulled up front and walked to the door bible in hand. When Lilith opened the door Bernice Watkins went in on her.

  “I know all about you and your daughters and I will not stand around and let you do that First Assembly. That has been my church all my life and I will protect it at all cost.”

  “I don’t know what you are talking about?” Lilith said all confused.

  “You can’t play that role with me honey! I know exactly what and who you are and as soon as I leave here I going to let everyone else know.”

  Lilith looked at her strangely as if she couldn’t comprehend what she said. Bernice gave her a piece of her mind. As she turned to leave Lilith pushed her down the steps leading up to her porch.

  Bernice screamed as she tumbled down the concrete steps hitting her head numerous times. By the time she reached the bottom blood was coming out of her head and the left side of her body felt numb on one side. Bernice tried to say call 911 but Lilith came and stood over her and just watched her instead of trying to help.

  Bernice tried to make a sound but nothing audible came out. Finally, Lilith called 911 when Bernice decided to play dead. Bernice lay still as she could but she could hear Lilith laughing an evil laugh once she hung up with 911. Bernice was praying to God to help her and could hear the ambulance coming. Just when she secretly thanked God she felt blows to her head where Lilith had kicked her six times. It took everything in her to stay quiet and not move. She could feel the blood oozing from her head. Dear God please don’t let me die at the hands of this demon.

  The ambulance pulled up and Lilith went into her acting routine.

  “Please help my friend. I don’t know what happened I went into the house to get something and I came back and found her at the bottom of the stairs.”

  Sheila and Jamir had a quick ceremony at the courthouse and had gone to the Bahamas for their honeymoon. Edwin wasn’t thrilled about it but there was nothing that he could do. Sheila informed him of her plan and he went along with it to in order to keep their secret. He secretly hoped that Sheila would miss him as much as he missed her and they could get together from time to time but time will only tell. Sheila broke the news to Jamir that she was pregnant and he was cloud nine. He had wanted to start a family ASAP so this was exactly what he wanted.

  Sheila was enjoying being married to Jamir and it was all that she ever wanted. Sheila stopped at CVS to pick up her prenatal vitamins and while she waited she sat down and noticed on of the Harlot sisters sitting a few seats down.

  “Hey.” Sheil
a said to her. Sheila couldn’t tell them apart so she didn’t know which one it was.

  She looked up and waved and went back to texting on her phone.

  Well forget you too. Sheila thought to herself.

  “Jezebel Harlot?” The pharmacist called out.

  Jezebel got up and went to the counter.

  “Now these are iron pills and these are prenatal vitamins.” The pharmacist told her.

  Whoa! Sheila had no idea that Jezebel was pregnant. She knew all about the stunts she pulled with Edmund. I wonder if it’s his. Sheila tried to act like she wasn’t paying attention but she put her listening her butt off.

  Eddie and Felicia filed a restraining order against Tamar and the stress from it all sent Felicia into labor. Eddie rushed her to the hospital and as soon as they got her situated in the room Felicia’s water broke. First they gave Felicia stadol and it made Felicia feel high as a kite.

  “It feels like I smoked ten blunts.” Felicia laughed. Eddie paced the room with excitement while Felicia’s mother sat by her side.

  Most of the Blanks clan waited in the waiting room for the big arrival. After three hours the pain became unbearable and Felicia asked for an epidural. Eddie almost passed out when saw the long needle go into his wife’s back. Mama Eloise came in the room to hold Felicia’s hand. She had put her feelings aside since they had gotten married and she actually admired Felicia for standing up to Tamar. After six hours of labor Felicia was ready to push. Felicia’s mother Tina was on one side of her and Eloise was on the other while Eddie looked on from a distance looking as if he could pass out at any moment.

  The winds were howling as a thunderstorm came out of nowhere. The windows shook from the winds and the rain. Felicia screamed as she pushed her daughter out. Eddie couldn’t believe that his wife opened up that wide for a human being to come out of her. Felicia held her breath until she heard baby Faith cry.
