Still In Love With Her
Page 5
“There you are, sexy,” someone behind me says in my ear.
The man’s hands grip my torso and massage me. I turn my head to see Dash, and he nibbles on my neck. I’m supposed to have sex with him tonight. After the way Vince left things, it wouldn’t be so bad to get banged by a newbie just to get back at him. But that’s only spite talking, not my desire.
“Do you know where Monroe is?” I ask.
“She’ll join in later.”
The moment of truth has arrived. I take a deep sigh. “I’m not going with you, but thanks.”
He chuckles. “I heard you required my services.”
“Services? Are you a hooker?”
“No. I’m just good at fucking.” He massages my muffin. I must’ve moaned or something because he asks, “You want more?”
I gulp. “No…”
He doesn’t stop. “Come on. Let me fuck you sideways.” He gently bites my shoulder and does exactly what Robert did in the elevator, except his dick strokes my ass with more vigor. He sinks his tongue in my ear. His hand slides up my thigh. “I could bend you over right here.”
“That’s okay,” I say in a rush and shrug away from him. I run down the stairs and all the way to my room.
That was close. That was very close.
Three guys are in my room. One of them looks at me as if he’s considering adding me to the madness. It’s Delta Foster. The other two are engrossed in getting Delta off.
“Excuse me, but you’re on my bed,” I say, trying to keep my voice steady.
“You want to join us?” Delta’s still getting his knob scrubbed and nipples sucked. “I like pussy too.”
I squeeze my eyes shut and open them. I’m really seeing what I’m seeing. “No, I’m not feeling well. So could you take the orgy somewhere else?”
Delta chuckles. “You’re hot, you know?”
“If you say so.”
“I’ll send these guys away, and it’ll just be me and you.” He closes his eyes and grunts.
I squint squeamishly. I mean, what the hell! “I just need to get some sleep.”
“Fuck,” he mutters and jerks as he shoots his load. The guy comes up for a kiss, but Delta pushes his mouth away. “Is that your phone?” he asks, breathing heavily.
What the hell? My eyes follow his gaze. “Yes.”
“It’s been ringing.”
“Oh…”
“Whoever it is, you should call them back. Let’s go. Maggie needs her beauty rest,” Delta says.
The two guys obey on command.
I clear my throat nervously. He knows my name. “Thank you.”
“I’ll see you soon,” he says on his way out.
I close the door and lock it. I can still hear the music, the rumbling of voices, and people splashing and frolicking in the pool. I’m from New York though, which means I can sleep through a hundred jackhammers pounding concrete. Hopefully when I wake up, my encounter with Robert in the elevator, Vince’s insistence that I get on my knees, me quitting my job in a fit of jealous rage, the left turn I took onto the border of lesbianism, which culminated with my weird yet intriguing sex with Vince, and getting hit on by Dash—none of it will have ever happened.
CHAPTER FOUR
A New Line of Business
It’s morning. I’m clearly aware that last night did happen as my pussy flexes with memories of Vince being inside me. I also remember Delta saying something about my phone ringing a lot. I check the messages. The first is from Jack. He wants me to look in on Daisy, and he heard that I’m leaving A&Rt, so he wants to talk about that. The others are from shocked colleagues and poachers who want to take me to lunch to talk about opportunities I might find interesting.
I’m still wearing the dress from last night. As soon as I sigh with dread at the thought of having to go to my car to get my suitcase, I see it tucked in the corner. I wonder if it was there last night. I fling the suitcase onto the bed, open it, and put on my white V-neck T-shirt, stretchy miniskirt, and flip-flops. I want to make it easy to take off my clothes later and jump in the pool. I return Jack’s call before I head out to see how Monroe is doing.
“Mags,” he says.
“Did you call me last night?” I ask.
“What’s this I hear about you leaving A&Rt?”
“Did you hear the whole story?”
“I probably did. I can make Emily go away if you want.”
I smile. “I love you, Jack. It’s always a comfort to know that I have you in my corner, but I don’t know. I quit out of anger, but that made me really consider this new venture with Monroe.”
“What venture is that?” There’s a note of caution in his tone.
“Monroe thinks we should go into business together. I would be an image consultant.” I wait for Jack to process that.
“What’s Monroe’s role in all of this?”
“I imagine she’ll land the clients and help keep them in line.”
“Are your clients famous?” he asks.
“Yes.”
“I don’t know about this, Mags. Shit can get hairy quickly.”
I sigh, remembering Delta Foster and his fondness for dick—and not his own. He has a reputation as a ladies’ man. I’m not one to keep up with celebrity gossip, but the fact that Monroe feels Delta needs an image consultant must mean that the smokescreen is fading and fans are wondering what team he plays on. “You’re telling me.”
“Whatever you decide, I’m in your corner. I didn’t like you working around Vince and Robert anyway,” he says.
Once, Robert referred to Jack as my bruiser, which made me question whether or not Jack had warned him against flirting with me. He once caught Robert discreetly squeezing my ass, and Robert often looks at me as if we’re stranded on a deserted island and I just turned into a hot dog or something. I’m used to it. I’ve learned to ignore him. Yesterday was the first time he’d ever masturbated against my ass. I felt his dick twitching and everything. I think he had groomed me for that moment. I wasn’t surprised and was slightly aroused.
“Yeah.” I sigh. “I think it’s run its course.”
“If you need me for anything, let me know.”
“I will.”
“And, um…”
“And what?”
“Since you’re in L.A., could you check on Daisy for me?” Jack asks.
“My pleasure, but I wish you two would just get back together already.”
He’s silent.
“Jack?”
“I’m here.”
“Apparently you miss her, since you want me to check on her.”
He’s silent.
“Jack?” I ask again.
“Tell me how she’s doing as soon as you find out.”
I roll my eyes. “You guys could work through your issues better and faster if you lived together.”
“If the fix was quick, then I would have fixed it already,” he snaps.
“Then make me understand what she did so wrong? Tell me you’re not mad at her because of Joella.”
“Of course not,” he hisses.
“Then what?”
“Daisy’s…”
“She’s what?”
“Too fluid.”
I’m taken aback. “She likes chicks?”
“Is that what they’re calling fluid these days?”
“That’s what I call it. What do you mean by Daisy being too fluid?”
“She doesn’t give a fuck about much unless you’re her dead brother.”
His words hit me like a two-ton steel beam. “But the operative word is ‘dead.’ You’re still alive, and she married you.”
“She hasn’t called me.”
“Have you called her? You’re the one who left.”
Silence.
“Jack?”
“I’m here,” he snaps. “You know I’ll never hang up on you.”
“I know…” I sit on the bed and wait patiently through the rest of his silent spell.
“You
ll check on her for me?” His tone indicates that he’s wrapping up this conversation.
“Yes.”
“Thanks. Call me as soon as you know something.”
“I will. Love you, Jack.”
“Love you too, Mags.” He hangs up.
I think it’s stupid they’re apart. It makes no sense no matter how you slice it. I do believe that Jack has created the whole mess though.
I head out to find Monroe. She has a lot of house for one person. I poke my head into her bedroom. “Roe?”
Her sheets are messy, but she’s not on top of them. I look in the bathroom, and she’s not in there either. I figure she’s probably starving just as much as I am, so I head to the kitchen. The house is immaculate, as if the salacious night never happened. When I reach the kitchen, I see Delta at the oven, flipping pancakes.
He turns to look at me. “So you weren’t a figment of my imagination?”
He’s wearing a pair of sheer purple boxers. It’s a cliché, but he does look better in person. Delta sports a crew cut, and he has light-brown eyes and a heart-shaped face. He reminds me of a female version of Jennifer Love Hewitt. That’s how pretty he is, which is probably why he’s used to getting plenty of whatever he wants.
“Where’s Monroe?” I ask.
“Around. Are you a two-pancake woman, or one?” He gazes at my body. “Did I eat your pussy at any point during the night?”
“Um, no.” I plop down on a stool at the island.
“Humph, maybe I wanted to eat your pussy. I was getting my dick waxed like a motherfucker.” He shifts his hips. “It’s sore as fuck.”
I try to keep a straight face. “Right.”
“The first time I saw you, I was like whoa. I tossed my head back and looked up, and there you were in that blue dress. You were wearing a blue dress, right?”
I narrow one eye. “Uh-hum.”
“I was in your bedroom?”
“Fucking two men,” I say.
He chuckles. “Don’t let looks deceive you. I like pussy too.”
“Yeah, you said that too.”
“I meant it. I eat pussy. I don’t fuck it. I don’t fuck anything. I’m all about the oral.”
“Yep,” I say dismissively. The guy has issues, and I’m not a shrink.
“I don’t know how it’s going to work, you being my image consultant and me so turned on by you.”
“Well, maybe we can find you a new image consultant.” I’m ready to pass on this psycho.
He laughs and sets three pancakes in front of me. “You need to eat. I consider myself a bodiologist—”
“A bodiologist?”
“You’re curvy slim. Your pussy’s not snug, but it’s tighter than average.”
“I thought you didn’t dip your dick in pussies.”
“You would be the exception.”
“How many exceptions have you made so far?”
He smirks. “I’m not done. Have you seen your ass?”
“It’s behind me, so no.”
“It’s remarkable. And your breasts are too, but you’re fifteen pounds skinnier than you should be. Did you just lose that weight?”
I frown. “Huh?”
“You look like you’ve dropped a lot of weight fast.”
I glance uncomfortably over my shoulder. How the hell could he tell? I have lost weight. I’ve been too damn busy to eat.
“Well, I’m going to give you a little advice,” Delta says. “Add fifteen pounds, and your pussy will be a fraction more snug as a bug in a rug.”
“Monroe!” I shout at the top of my lungs.
“Maggie!” she replies from somewhere far away.
“Get the fuck in here!”
Delta sets a fork on my plate. “Not fucking yet!” he calls and squeezes syrup on the pancakes. “You said you saw me fucking two guys?”
I throw up my hands. “Don’t care.”
“Yeah, but you mention that to the wrong person and…” He makes the sound of an explosion and uses his hands to demonstrate. “My career in smoke. Chicks don’t want to think that their leading man likes dick.”
“Delta, you’re irritating me. What the hell is your point? And say it fast.”
He smirks. “Once you’re A-list in this town, you’re trucking through a field of land mines. Everybody wants to take you down.”
I nod. “Well, you’re skipping through that field as though those land mines are lilies.”
“It’s time to… progress.”
“Progress into what?”
“The family man.”
“You want me to make the world believe you’re a family man?” I ask.
He smiles as if the joke will be on every sucker who buys what he wants me to sell. Delta puts his face close to mine. We stare into each other’s eyes. My mind is racing, figuring out how to make the lie reality.
“Do you have a family?” I ask.
“Could you get me one?”
I snort cynically. “Sure, I can just order one up in the family catalog.”
“Humph…” He steps back and away from me. “Maybe you’re not an image consultant.”
I feel as though he’s challenging me. I narrow my eyes to think then throw up a hand. “Wait. Do you know any lesbian thespians?”
He smiles again and nods. “I do.”
“Well, we can start there.”
“Yes, we could. But, Maggie, I’m not gay.”
“You would know.”
“I like my dick waxed by a man. The lips are stronger, jaw tighter, and they can deep throat like a motherfucker.”
Damn, TMI. I pick up the fork to dive into the pancakes. “That’s your business.”
Delta extends a hand. We shake on it, but he seizes my left hand.
“Are you engaged?” he asks.
I shrug.
“No? Yes?” he asks.
“I think so.”
“Ah, fuck, because um…” He keeps my hand as he walks around the bar.
I ruffle my eyebrows.
“Maggie, you’re going to have to let me eat you for breakfast.”
“Um, nope.” I clamp my legs together.
He nods. “Yeah, you will, because you’re not going to make me keep wondering. It’s not conducive for doing business together.”
It happens so fast. He’s on his knees, and his face is between my legs. My first inclination is to push his head away from my pussy, but his hot tongue has already slid up my slit, and my clit tingles as soon as he sucks it.
“Shit,” I mutter, looking around wildly. I can’t believe I’m letting Delta Foster eat me out.
He clamps down on my thighs so I can’t shift my butt, but I haven’t felt much after that first sensation. His tongue is all over the place, slurping and drenching me with saliva. I had higher hopes than this.
“Pancakes,” Monroe says as she strolls into the kitchen.
I point downward as soon as she looks at me.
She rolls her eyes and mouths, “Just let him finish.”
I shake my head. I could help him out a little if he stops holding me in place. If I just turn a little to the left, I could reach orgasm. He keeps slurping and licking me here and there and everywhere. Monroe and I widen our eyes at each other and laugh without making a sound.
“Ah,” Delta cries as he quakes. He came before I could fake it!
Monroe and I laugh even harder.
After the sloppy vagina-bath Delta gave me, I need a shower. I laugh through it. That was so surreal. This time, I make sure my crotch is far less accessible by wearing panties under my cutoff shorts. I leave through the bay doors and drive down to Malibu to check on Daisy. On the way to her house, I’m bombarded by calls. My colleagues are panicking. I promise to work with each of them to wrap up our projects before I leave.
“Two weeks?” Linda, who used to be my assistant before Mavis, asks.
“Robert convinced me to follow protocol. Were you watching on videoconference?”
“I saw
it,” she says squeamishly. “But in your defense, Vincent Adams was acting like a jackass.”
“I agree,” I say, happy she and I have come to the same conclusion.
“That Emily woman, I was going to tell you to watch out for her. I’ve heard things.”
“Shit!” I push on the brakes, and my tires screech. I almost ran a red light. “What have you heard?”
“Did you get into an accident?”
“No. What have you heard?” My blood is boiling.
“Janice saw them kissing.”
I roll my eyes. “Janice is a shit-starter. Did anyone besides her see anything?”
“Everyone knows that they’re always together. She’s into him, and he doesn’t seem uninterested. Everyone thought you and Vince had broken up about a month ago.”
Oh damn, my heart hurts. “We weren’t. He was just cheating on me.”
“I’m so sorry, Maggie. I should’ve said something earlier. Shit, I’m your friend, and I dropped the ball.”
“Don’t beat yourself up about it.”
“I’m going to knock myself out!”
I shake my head. “I guess I suck at relationships.”
“No way. You do relationships well enough. Remember that woman he was seeing and was going to marry last year? What was her name?”
“Mariana, Vanessa, Gabrielle…”
“That’s it Gabrielle! Well Emily and Gabrielle are the Bobbsey-Twins. He’s a nice guy but you’re too good for him.
I smile, appreciating the support, although I don’t think Vince’s complaint about me is invalid. “ Perhaps but I’m sure going to miss you.”
“I already miss you. Change your mind.”
“I don’t want to. But apply for my old position. You’re the best replacement they could find. We work together on just about everything.” I pull up onto the cement slab in front of Jack and Daisy’s house.
“You think I should?”
“Hell yes.”
“Will they hire me though?”
“If they know what’s best. Just keep me in the loop. I’ll let them make the right decision fair and square, but if Robert’s dick gets in the way and he tries to hire his next fuck, then I’ll talk to Jack.”
“Oh my God, what is that you always call him?”
