The Psychology of Winningby Denis Waitley

Experience Denis Waitley’s best-selling program “The Psychology Of Winning.” Build self-esteem, motivation, and self-discipline while developing the 10 qualities of a total winner. You will also discover the 2 vital qualities every successful person must develop. These same qualities have helped athletes shatter world records. Denis Waitley reveals the same “10 Steps to Winning” taken by Olympic champions and Fortune 500 executives. Capitalize on the principles of great achievers, learn how winners continue to improve, and find out why nobody can push you as far as you push yourself.

Winning isn’t just luck. You need a programmed mind set to become a champion.

  You’ll learn Winners’ Ways to:

Focus your dominant thoughts on leading you inevitably to victories in all your challenges

Create a new, optimistic way of life

Harmonize the "Three Zones of Growth" to keep yourself in the winner’s circle

Program your inner "robot" for unlimited self-discipline

In The Psychology of Winning, Denis explains that no race, no game is important unless you are also a winner in life. For it’s only the winners in life who really enjoy the spoils of victory.

Greetings! I’m at my wit’s end. I have nowhere else to turn but to your New Age auction. Ever since the “Smokey Tree Incident” my life has taken a turn for the worst. A revolving door of failed remedies has followed. I lay in front of the TV 17 hours a day eating Hot Cheetos and watching reruns of Family Ties. Scientology was of no help as they stole my Paxil and dumped it down the drain. I contacted a fortune teller for $50 who said I needed a face lift and to eat 10 pieces of cheese toast from Sizzler. No help indeed! Even my mom’s chicken noodle soup cannot help my mental anguish. I’m willing to try anything to motivate my life! I’ve read that self-motivation guru Denis Watiley says that he can unlock my “inner robot for unlimited discipline.” I can’t wait! I didn’t even know I had an inner robot! What a discovery! What a man! Have you personally listened to these tapes? Could they motivate a lonely, former pet store owner like myself? Thank you.

  Art

Yes I have listened to them. They have motivated me to finish my college education and to also become a successful eBayer and now I am starting a photography studio. It all comes from within—you do have an inner robot and he will listen to what you tell him, good or bad. These tapes will help you put the good stuff inside.

  Acknowledgments

Letters to eBay would never have come to life if it weren’t for the following people:

My agent, Rick Broadhead, who saw from 3,000 miles away (literally) that the potential for some crazy e-mails written to eBay vendors could be turned into a book. Thank you for your support and enthusiasm that never wavered.

My editor from Warner Books, Ben Greenberg. We’ve sure been through a lot together—climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with little more than a tube of toothpaste and some Dennison’s Chili; trekked through the swamplands of Bangladesh hunting water buffaloes; and saved those beached whales off the coast of Sri Lanka. Okay, we didn’t do those things together, but you did do a fantastic job on my book.

My brothers from another mother—Dave Childers and Mike Falls, the unofficial Letters to eBay editors who were there from the genesis of my project. Not only that but they were there from the very beginning. Thousands of teaching hours were devoted to critiquing my letters and the world is a better place for it.

My friends and family who inspired me more than the movie The Karate Kid ever could have. I’m now the “Best! Around! Nothing’s gonna ever keep me down.” My brother-in-law Marc Welty who started it all by posting an exquisite, religious artifact on eBay. Craig and Marilyn Meadors for giving me a head start in life by sending me to preschool. Scotty Ferguson, Ray and Lynne Myers, Jeff Sands and the good people from Sands Photography, Scott Jett, Ronnie and Kelli Samuelian, Jim Moshier, The Five Scops, Gary Winter, Donny Klassen, Jeff Berger, James Berger, Craig Bowden, Chris Schultz, Team Gilmore, The Awkward Boys, Jay Pope, The Brothers Crantz, Andy and Megan Meadors, Jay and Kelly Myers, Julie Welty, Milowry, Chon Chon, Teacher Steve and the entire faculty from Traver Tech. And the ones who came before me—Lazlo Toth, Ted L. Nancy, The Wade Brothers, Sterling Huck, Paul Davidson, and Paul Rosa. Perhaps Art Farkas can be accepted into the “Brotherhood.”

And how could I ever forget the little people: Billy Barty, the guy who played Willow, and Mini-Me.

The wonderful eBay sellers who responded with heartfelt sincerity in answering the borderline absurd questions I asked about their products. Well, except for the one lady who accused me of being a stalker.

Oh, and signing those release forms helped a bit too!

And of course, my amazing, sensational, perfect little family— wife Lori and three girls, Georgie, Alex, and Ruthie. Obviously all proceeds from this book go directly into the account labeled “Future Wedding Fund.”

And finally to you, the reader of this book for helping it become The Da Vinci Code of the humor book world. Look for Letters to eBay: The Musical, starring Tim Conway, Kirstie Alley, and Donald Sutherland, coming soon to a theater near you!
