Queens Of The Fae

My body hums with pleasure as my mates all devour my body. I sigh in content as does my beasts. It’s odd having so many voices in my head, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. They are me, and I am them. The only one that is quiet is my eagle beast. She doesn’t often say much, and I still find it hard to shift into her. It would have come in handy in that arena because my others lay dormant, but no, she didn’t want to come out. Clarissa said it looked like I was taking a shit, I laughed and threw a bottle at her head.
“You’re thinking again.” Ash mumbles into my ear. I shiver as his breath tickles my neck. I shiver again when he drops a kiss behind my ear. “Tell me what you’re thinking.”
I feel River lift his head from where he was laying on my feet, and Storm lifts onto his elbow to look at me from where he is on my right. When I gaze at them, I realise just how lucky I am. Their muscular bodies glisten with sweat, their naked bodies entwined with mine. But most of all, I see their love for me. That love shines through their eyes, and it makes me wonder if my air mate would have looked at me the same.
“I am thinking about my air mate and why I am finding it so hard to release my eagle.” I look down at River who grumbles low in his throat. My bear has always found this situation difficult, but he loves his brothers and me fiercely. “Stop grumbling.” I tease my bear mate with my toe, and I giggle when he nibbles my foot. “I can’t help but think that I am incomplete. That’s why she won’t reveal herself to me. I feel like something is missing.” I lay back on the pillow, resting my arm over my face. “Plus, Axel has been on my mind. He just vanished, and I fear he isn’t done.”
“You know what? I actually forgot about that dick. Where the fuck did he go anyway?” Storm says from my side. “The dude is out there and probably planning something.”
“What if he is working with Lucifer? I mean the dude was working with Zegareus, why not Lucifer too.” I move my arm away, looking into Ash’s eyes. “We have all been thinking about how Lucifer gained his powers back so quickly and how he was able to come up top. What if he had help? What if Axel helped him? What if Axel used his gifts somehow to manipulate the gods to give him his powers back. He could have even tricked mother earth into allowing Lucifer back here. After all, mother earth gave us our gifts, and only she has the power to take them away, right?”
“She does, but you have to remember that you are also a higher being. You and your sisters have the power to stop him.” Ash replies. “But we also have to be aware that someone else could be helping him.”
“Maisy.” I look at River as he sits up. “What if she helped him? She was livid when she was exiled. She apparently vanished and hasn’t been seen since we have been gone. She may be helping him too, especially to get into the compounds and academy.” He strokes my leg. “As for you feeling like something is missing, it is. Your mate was torn from you, and I’m afraid that empty feeling won’t completely vanish Vi, but we are here to help you, and we will never leave you.”
I sit up and crawl over to him. He lifts me into his lap, and I snuggle into his broad chest. “I love you.”
“I love you too, we all do.” He replies.

I feel them before I see them. I feel their energy like a storm cloud, their essence washes over me in a warm hug. I race to the window to see the best sight ever. The rest of my men are travelling on a rock propelled forward by a gust of wind. I see the concentration on Cole and Trey’s face as they keep moving in my direction. I also see Marcus laying still on the rock and two people looking worried by his side.
I race to the door with Kyle hot on my tail. We race through the halls, Kyle shouting as we go. I see his parents running with us. As we exit the door, the large part of the earth sinks back into the ground with a groan. My eyes fall to Marcus, who looks so ashen and still that my heart stops.
I run to him, dropping on the floor by his side. I cradle his head in my lap, stroking his cheek. My mates circle me, talking to me but I don’t want to let him go. When my tears fall, they land on him. It is then that I see the dark mark on his chest, the dark tendrils drifting from it.
I feel my sister near, and when I look up, I look into Clarissa’s face that is etched with worry. She bites her lower lip, looking at the mark lingering there like a smear of infestation.
“I can heal him, but I don’t know what the lasting effects will be on him and me.” She says to me.
“What do you mean? The darkness that is inside you?”
“Yes. You know that it is building in me and I am worried this might tip me over the edge, but I won’t let him suffer, I won’t let him die.” Her eyes shine with tears that match my own.
“That is the good in you Clarry.” She smiles at her nickname. “I love you, and I refuse to lose either of you. You are stronger than you think, you are my sister.” I look at Violet. “Our sister.”
“That’s all I need.” She smiles as she places her hands on his chest. I half expect black magic to light up her hands, but it is as blue as her eyes and as bright as ever. A bigger smile tugs at her lips as the black smudge begins to lift from his chest. I don’t hear anyone speak. I don’t hear a single sound apart from the breathing of Marcus. His face becomes pinker. His eyes flutter open, and he frowns slightly as the last tug is released and a gasp falls from him as his back bows towards the sky.
I see Clarissa starting to sweat, I see her struggling with this last part that is stuck on like a tick. Marcus begins to buck then, and all my mates hurry to keep him in place. I lay my hands over Clarissa, and Violet does the same. When we do that, I can feel the energy flowing around my sister. I can see the bright energy fighting with the dark one. So, I close my eyes and pull the dark away from my mate. My energy shines a bright blue, and a violet colour joins the white flowing from Clarissa. We latch onto that darkness that seems to mock us. But we are stronger than any evil that comes our way, and with a deep breath, we tug it loose. It hovers around us before I open the ground and a ball of green latches onto the blackness and drags it into the ground. I feel a rumble, and then all is still.
When we open our eyes, all eyes are on us. Everyone, including Marcus, is staring at us in awe and wonder. Most of all, they are looking at Clarissa. I turn my eyes and gasp. Her wings that were once black like a raven are now white like snow. They are so pure, so unique that tear spring to my eyes. All thoughts of her ever turning dark are washed away when I see the amazement in her eyes.
I turn to Marcus, seeing he too has tears in his eyes. He nods that he is okay, and I throw my arms around my sister, hugging and laughing with her. Then everyone else joins in, and we are just one buddle of happiness and joy.
Then a boom litters the air and shakes the ground so hard we all fall away from each other. Then we hear a laugh, a dark laugh that stills my heart as Lucifer appears through the barrier with Axel and Maisy at his side.
Chapter fifteen
Morgan
My arms throw out instantly, blocking their path with my magic. It creates a dome around us, and even I blink in surprise.
“How did you do that?” Violet asks.
“No fucking clue, but we don’t have time to talk.” I race to the castle and head to my room to grab my blade. It shimmers in the sun as I hold it up. I feel the same hum that it belongs to me. I roll my shoulder and feel that caress as my wings enfold from my back. I don’t know how they do it, but they just appear when I need them. We didn’t even have time to marvel the wonder of Clarissa’s new wings. We didn’t have time to have a moment of happiness before he comes along to ruin it.
Daphnae rushes into my room, Heracles hot on her heels. “He has hundreds of demons outside the dome you have created, which by the way was badass.”
“Thanks. What did you say about the demons?”
“Yeah, I have never seen anything like it before. They are different, stronger and eviller than I have ever witnessed. I don’t know how he did it, but the other two that are with him a
re oozing pure darkness.” She looks worried and for a god that is worrying. “I thought they were light fae from the essence I first sensed.”
“They are. Both are shifters, and the guy is Violet’s older brother. He tried to kill us in the dragon entrance cave. The girl, she wanted revenge on Violet for taking her man and becoming alpha of their pack. She let in our first enemy that killed Vi’s mum and the alpha.” They both stare at me, open-mouthed. “Yep, sucks to be us.”
“And your story? Is it the same?” Heracles asks.
“No, but just as bad. Zegareus kidnapped my mum and killed her when leeched enough of her power and energy to make himself more powerful. He highjacked my human dad’s body and beat and tortured me. I never knew I had magic until my mates came along. I wondered why these hot as fuck guys paid attention to me when I am usually ignored, and my best friends were also from this world and were sent here to protect me by my mother.” I shrug my shoulders, knowing all of that is behind me. But the person who started it all now resides outside. “I will end this today. I will end Lucifer today. I will stop this war that has gone on far too long.”
“And who will rule the underworld? Someone has to take his place.”
“That person will be me.” Clarissa walks through the door, looking as fierce as ever in her armour and new wings spread out. She faces Heracles with a smile. “I will take over my lands. I will bring peace to the demons that only follow orders. No one will leave those lands without my say so. No one will wreak havoc on these lands or any others.” Now I know why she was born to rule. She is amazing. “We need to go. The winter lands army are ready for battle, they are waiting for us to gather all the information they need.”
“You’re right. Let me change, and I will be out in a moment.” She nods and turns to leave, but I call her back. “Clarissa, your mates are out there. I can feel them.”
“I know. I will free them so they can join the fight.” She walks away with more determination than she has ever shown before.
“You know. My father was so wrong about you three. You just want peace. I can see that now.”
“Took your sweet ass time Herc.” Daphnae nudges him playfully.
“Yeah, yeah.” He nods towards me and swiftly walks away.
“Help me get changed.” I turn to my amour, the silver with a hint of blue waiting for me on my bed. These were made especially for us. They fit us like a glove, and at first, I thought they would be so uncomfortable, but they aren’t. Daphnae helps me into my armour, my blade sheathed at my side. I have a bow on my back, something I was taught at the God Academy. I’m shit at it, but you never know when it’ll come in handy. Once I am ready, I look in the mirror.
“You look fierce Morgan.” I smile at Daphnae.
“I feel different from when all this began. I felt like the whole world was on my shoulders, and now, I feel that I can conquer the world.” I nod at my reflection. No matter what happens today, I know that I have come so far, and I have done so much that I am rather proud of myself. Seeing how bright my eyes are, the flawless skin and blue hair, the shade of midnight flowing down my back in a silky waterfall makes me smile. I no longer see the terrified girl. I see a warrior. “Let’s go.” I turn on my heel, heading to the battle cries that are filtering through the window. Today, Lucifer will face not one, but three warriors and I genuinely feel sorry for him.
Violet
I see my brother smirking at me through the barrier and Maisy who looks terrified to be here, but she is here all the same. I watch as demon’s try and fail to break the barrier that my sister erected with ease. I feel that something has shifted with us. Something powerful and mighty that I can’t quite put my finger on. The moment Morgan created this barrier, I felt it then, I felt that shift, and now I hear my eagle loud and clear waiting to be in the fold of this fight.
I smile as I feel her. She is a mighty beast, just like my bear, my lioness and my wolf.
Lucifer looks bored, picking at his nails as if this whole situation is beneath him. That irritates me. The cocky asshole thinks he has us beat, but little does he know what we have up our sleeve. Little does he know who is coming to join this battle of his. I smile at him. He frowns and then I wink. At that wink, the ground rumbles. My smile widens when I see the look on Lucifers face as the rest of our army comes into view over the valley.
My pack stands proud. As do the bear pack and the feline pack. The mighty beasts look out at the demon’s snarling and snapping their teeth. The demons shift uneasily, and that makes my smile widen.
Lucifer shows no fear, in fact, he looks amused. That makes me frown. I see his eyes flicker over my shoulder, I follow his gaze to see the ground part. My badass sisters walk side by side. They look so omg fucking badass, there is no other word for it. I would squeal, but that isn’t the image we are going for.
When they are stood by my side, Clarissa turns to me with a smile. “You so want to girly squeal right now, don’t you?” Morgan chuckles.
“Your damn straight, I do.” I look her up and down. “That black armour makes those wings pop.” I make a popping noise on the end and she giggles. “Before then, we have to kick this old man’s ass.”
“Oh right, I almost forgot about daddy dearest.” Clarissa turns to Lucifer, a look of determination on her face. “Where are my mates?” she says it so calmly that I shiver.
He cocks his head, assessing us. “You know, I thought you would be my champion and rule by my side Clarissa. I see now that I was wrong, you're just as weak as your mother was.” He gives her a look of disgust. “But I do need you three for something better. You three will have children that will one day rule the worlds. Today you will not die, but your mates will.” He whistles. Demon’s drag Damon, Loki and Lucas into view. Clarissa swears, moving forward but we stop her.
“If you go through, he has what he wants.” I whisper to her.”
“She’s right, walking out there, you walk right into his hands.” Morgan moves away from us to stand at the front. “You think bringing them here will weaken her? all that has done is fuel her anger towards you and made her connection with them strong again.” As to prove her point, I watch as the guys rise. Loki ripples and burst into his hellhound that now have flecks of white going through his body. Damon’s eyes glow a white and Lucas raises his hands and creates a blast that throws the demon’s away from them.
That is when the fight begins.
My eyes flick to where Lucifer was stood to find him missing. The fucking coward, leaving his minions to do his dirty work. No matter let the fun begin.
Clarissa
I see the snake disappear through the trees and I do the only thing I can think of, and that’s run after him. I know my mates aren’t far behind me. I feel them like a sweet caress, I feel whole again.
We come to a clearing; demons suddenly surround us. “Shit, there’s more of these things.” I unsheathe my sword and stare down the biggest one.
He snarls. At least I think it is a he? Drool drips from his fangs. His tongue snakes out, licking at the sharp teeth. I swear the thing smiles at me. The scaley body twitches, his huge feet look ready to pounce. My eyes lock on with his red ones that gleam with hatred and hunger.
“Don’t let that scratch you. Its claws have a poison in them that renders you immobile so it can devour you easier.” Lucas stands by my side, his hands glowing a blinding white.
“Why are you glowing white? Your magic was red right?”
“Yep, it’s a new thing, just like those pretty wings of yours.” He smiles down at me. He runs a finger down the white feathers. I shudder, and he smiles wider. “Wish we didn’t have to fight right now, but that thing is about to pounce.” He shoves me out the way as the beast charges towards us.
Theon comes racing into the clearing, his sword coated in black ooze. “Fuck, what the hell is that thing?”
“It’s an Adlet, but it has been transfigured in some grotesque thing.” Lucas moves to the side as the beast charges at him
.
I shift to the left as Lucas goes right, just as it dives at him, I twist swinging my sword, hitting the beast on its hind legs. It howls before crashing into the ground. I run over to it, just as it lets out another howl and stab it in the chest.
“That was easy.” Loki says cockily. I see his mouth covered in the same black slime that I am guessing is demon blood.
“Yeah, far too easy.” Damon walks through the trees, wiping his mouth. He raises a brow. “Nice wings.”
“Nice eyes.” I look at all of them. “You all feel different, but a good different.”
“We felt different the moment you changed your destiny.” Damon walks over to me, taking me in his arms. “I have missed you.” His kiss leaves me breathless, but then I am in Lucas’s arms, and I don’t have time to catch my breath before he takes control of my lips.
