Party of Two

Alex relaxed feeling the warm gentle hand on her. They both had their eyes closed. After some time passed, Alex spoke. “Should I turn now?” Blair hesitated knowing that facing Alex in bed would be dangerous. Still, she wanted to provide the promised therapy.
“Yes.” Alex then turned and Blair found her hand on Alex’s bare abdomen.
“Your hand feels good.”
The pang that Blair felt in her stomach the minute her hand came in contact with Alex’s abdomen was a clear sign that the front rub would not be as lengthy as the back rub. She needed to end the treatment soon. Alex’s comment had not helped either.
“Are you feeling better now?” Blair asked.
“Yeah, much better. I guess the treatment does work. Thanks. You give good rubs.” Alex didn’t want her to stop, but she was very aware of the hand rubbing her and that she was beginning to like it too much. So, when Blair ended the massage, she thought it was best.
“Okay, let’s get some sleep now.” Blair said as she was getting up, but Alex held her in place.
“Stay.”
“Alex—.”
“Please.” Alex pleaded.
“Okay, but only for a little while, and as long as you stay on your side of the bed, okay?”
“Okay.”
They each took to one side of the full-size bed. A while later Blair woke up feeling warm. She then realized that Alex was nestled in the crook of her arm and had an arm draped over her stomach. I knew this would happen. As concerned as she was about her predicament, she couldn't help smiling. Alex looked adorable. The warmth of her body was better than any blanket, or comforter in the whole world. Alex’s scent and softness were delicious. She wondered what life would be like holding Alex like that every night and waking up to those gorgeous green eyes every morning. It would be like having a personal sunrise! Amidst her thoughts, she also wondered how she would be able to extricate herself from Alex’s arms.
She must have fallen asleep because in the early hours of the morning when she again woke up, Alex was still in her arms, still with one arm draped over her abdomen and now, to make matters more difficult, Alex’s leg was over hers. As she was trying to figure out how to disentangle herself, she felt Alex further accommodating and nestling into her more. Blair smiled. It was so cute how Alex was holding onto her. Everything seemed perfect in Alex’s embrace.
Waking up with Alex in her arms was mind blowing. Sleeping a whole night with someone was new and different. It was wonderful, and something she could easily do. As comfortable and wonderful as it felt, she had to get up to go to work, and even if she didn’t have to go to work, she couldn’t remain in bed with Alex an instant longer for fear of her own desires going wild. She maneuvered herself out of the bed, and not wanting to wake her, lightly kissed Alex on her forehead. Although the kiss was light, Alex must have felt the movement of the bed and mumbled, “Don’t leave. You are warm, and I’m comfy.” She pulled Blair down.
Blair smiled loving her precarious situation. “I have to go to work.” She wondered if Alex realized what she was doing and saying, since she appeared to be in a slumber. To her great astonishment, Alex pulled her down further and placed her arm around her neck and kissed her on the lips. The kiss was a full open mouth kiss that brought Blair to her knees.
Involuntarily, she lost herself to the glorious kiss. She had never been kissed with so much desire and she couldn’t seem to get enough of it. There was force, passion, want and at the same time there was surrender of self. She didn’t want it to end and having to pull away from it was painful. She had to exercise enormous will power, but it had to end because she could almost feel the onset of an orgasm. When she pulled back, she realized that Alex was asleep. Blair gasped. You are so amazing and beautiful! I could love you forever.
Blair laid Alex’s head back on the pillow as she disentangled herself from her arms. Alex’s grunt, in protest, made Blair smile. The smile turned into anxiety when she looked down and saw that Alex’s tank top had slid to the side and one of her nipples was exposed, while the other prominently showed through the fabric of the garment. Dear God! Blair rushed and immediately covered her with the comforter, more out of panic than anything else. She didn’t need to see more of the gorgeous woman on her bed. What lay in front of her was unparalleled. She had never felt such love and desire for anyone ever in her life.
It would have been so easy to crawl back on that bed, kiss the exposed nipple, take it into her mouth and make love to her until she had lost her last breath. Temptation was an awful thing. Alex was on her bed and apparently, at least in her sleep, wanting her. Blair left breathing erratically. She was happy though, things appeared to be looking up. Thinking of that beautiful nipple made her smile all the way to the hospital.

When Alex woke up around ten, she had some sort of recollection of the kiss. She then heard the TV on and ran out of the bedroom. It was Saturday and Pete was already up. He was watching cartoons downstairs. She popped her head in Megan’s room.
“Good morning, are you feeling ok?”
“Yeah, Pete is up. I sent him downstairs to watch cartoons, could you please check on him? I think Blair left early because I haven’t heard her.”
“Okay. I’ll be right back. Yes, she left early.”
Megan wondered how Alex knew since she was just getting up. Megan smiled. Those two are closer than they know!
A few minutes later, Alex was back in Megan’s room with Pete in tow.
“Tell Mommy what we are going to do.”
“Mickey Mouze Pancakes!” A very happy Pete exclaimed.
“Want some?” Alex offered.
“Sure. I’ll come down in a bit.”
“Take your time.”

That evening, when Blair came back from work everyone was in the kitchen. This was an early out day for her and she rushed home knowing they were expecting her for dinner. When Pete saw her, he yelled “Auntie Blail!” He loved his aunt.
Blair bent down to plant a huge long kiss on his cheek, and he put his little hands around her neck and hung on to her. She picked him up and kissed him some more.
“Little man, you are getting to be a big boy. Umm, you are so handsome!” He planted a huge kiss on her cheek and smiled.
The minute she had walked in, the green eyes lit up adoring the way Blair greeted her nephew and how happy he was to see her. The appreciating look and smile did not go unnoticed by Megan and she decided to have some fun, since someone was apparently in a very good mood. “Is Pete the only one getting kisses around here tonight?”
Blair looked at her surprised. “Since when do you want me kissing you, sis?”
“Since I thought it would give you an excuse to kiss all present company, including someone with green eyes who seems to be happy to see you.”
Even Pete had something to say. “I think Awex wants a kiss, Aunt Blail.”
Both Blair and Alex smiled. Blair came closer to Alex and looked at her. “Should I Pete? Are you sure Alex wants me to kiss her?”
Pete looked at Alex. “Awex, do you want Aunt Blail to kiss you?” Megan was having a great time watching the situation develop.
“Yes, Pete, I’d like Aunt Blair to kiss me very much.”
“Very much?” Blair asked smiling.
When Alex smiled there was no need for further words. Blair leaned in to kiss her, still remembering their morning kiss. She hesitated on whether to go for her cheek, or her mouth. Against her better judgment and victim of her desire, she went for her lips. Alex’s smiled faded to an anxious desire as she waited for Blair to get closer, the anticipation was inviting. At first, it was a tender brushing, but as she felt welcomed, Blair’s confidence increased and she deepened the kiss, savoring every second of the soft, sweet and wet lips she dreamed with. When she felt Blair’s lips on hers, Alex remembered the morning kiss vividly and her heart began to race.
Pete and Megan’s presence didn’t allow the kiss to take the
course of the morning kiss, but it was not for lack of want. Thank God that Pete immediately interjected his thoughts. “Eeuuh! She kissed her on the mouth, Mommy!”
Although smiling, Alex blushed. Megan had yet more rounds of ammunition to deliver. “Yes, Pete, that’s how adults kiss when they love each other.”
Alex was turning a more intense shade of red, as Blair’s eyes devoured her.
“Aunt Blail you wove Awex?”
“Yes, Pete, very much.”
“Awex, you—.”
Blair covered Pete’s mouth and picked him up from the floor tickling him. Pete laughed. “Come on, little boy, let’s play with Aunt Blair.”
Alex smiled shyly and Megan laughed out loud. “That boy can surely put people on the spot!”
“He inherits that from his mother who has mastered the art!” Blair exclaimed as she exited the kitchen, but not before stopping to look back at Alex. She was going to ask if she was okay, but there was no need when she saw Alex’s smile. She smiled back and left the room with Pete over her shoulder, his head hanging upside down.
“I’m sorry, Alex. I didn’t mean to embarrass you. I just wanted to ‘yank her chain’ a little. She holds back a lot and doesn’t act on her feelings because she is very conscious of how you might feel.”
Alex smiled shyly, again. “I know, Megan. I’m getting to know her quite well.”
Megan felt happy that things were looking positive. She wasn’t sure what to make of it all, but at least she saw a glimmer of hope. After dinner, Alex announced that she was going to gather her stuff upstairs to leave. Blair didn’t object. It was early and she knew that another night like the last and God only knew what would happen. The situation was getting very hot and it was better to stay away from temptation. “I’ll walk you to your car.”
“Hey, since Megan is better now and you are off next weekend why don’t we go see my moms, I'd like you to meet them. I also want you to see why Pete loves it there.” Pete had not stopped talking about the ‘horsies’ ever since he had visited the moms with Alex.
“Are you sure?” Blair was caught between exhilaration and panic. She knew that meeting Alex’s parents was a big step, but she feared the fact that they might not like her. They were too important in Alex’s life, and who was she after all?
Alex smiled. “It’s cute that you are worried, but don’t be. They already like you.”
Chapter 9
As Megan began to feel better, Alex’s help was not needed so much anymore and, through Karen’s connections, she was able to schedule a job interview. The interview was successful and she was hired immediately. She had excellent credentials, references and the freedom to travel at a moment’s notice. She was a dream candidate to any law firm. The pay was exorbitant and she accepted it as a way to get back into work, but not because she liked the type of work. She had followed Karen's steps going into corporate finance law. Although she liked the pay, unfortunately, she had not found the satisfaction she hoped for in that area of the law.
“Mom, I’m going to take it because it’s a job and it pays very well, but I don’t know that I’m too thrilled with corporate finance. I wish I could find a job that involved dealing with people. I think helping people would be much more rewarding.”
“In terms of personal satisfaction, probably. But financially, you’d be shooting yourself in the foot. Those people jobs don’t pay, honey. The money is in corporate finance.”
“Yes, mom. I know.” There was no point talking to her mom about this topic, Karen loved her field of work and thought that it was the greatest thing on earth. Alex, instead, preferred the interaction with people and the thrill of the human drama. Unfortunately, Karen was right about those jobs, they didn’t pay much, and it took years to build a decent practice.
The new job required her to travel internationally, at least twice a month to different parts of Europe. She used to like to travel but now was beginning to resent it. Traveling took time away from her family and there was less time to share with Blair. They both had crazy schedules and it was hard to find quality time together.

On the home front everything was working out well. The bar was doing very well. Some of the money recovered, and the loan obtained through Alex went into capital improvements. Unknown to all, was that the holding company who provided the loan for the bar was none other than Alex’s creation with the money her moms provided.
The improvements had modernized the bar and the clientele grew in numbers and quality. The bar filled to capacity every night and business was booming. So, as predicted by Alex, the bar was making a huge profit and paying for all the bills. As arranged, when Megan fully recovered, she began to keep the bar books from home supervised by Martin, the accountant Alex had recommended. Because she was home, she had no child care expenses and all together was in a better financial position. Martin’s visits became more frequent than necessary for the bookkeeping, and it soon became evident that there were fireworks sparking between the two.

Because life was regaining some normality, Alex called home and told the moms that Blair was coming to visit. The women were happy to finally have the opportunity to meet the very famous Blair.
When they spoke on the phone, Alex made certain things clear. “M’Addy, please don’t make more of this than what it is. And, please, separate rooms.”
“Really? Still?” Addy replied.
“M’Addy! You are awful, you know? I really don’t know sometimes how I didn’t turn out wrong.”
“That’s what your mom always says, but don’t worry, there’s time, you’re still young.”
Alex chuckled. “Bye, M’Addy, and tell Mom that I will not allow any interrogation or cross examinations on her part!”
Addy chuckled. “Don’t worry. I will make your demands clear.”
“Love you, M’Addy.”
“I love you too, baby.”
***
The weekend of the visit, Blair arrived at Alex’s flat early on Saturday morning.
“Since I know the way there, I’ll drive so that you can enjoy the views of the countryside.”
“Alright, I’m all yours!” In more ways than you know!
On the way to Altee, Alex could sense Blair’s apprehension. She put her hand on Blair’s thigh and Blair put her hand on top and intertwined their fingers. “Relax, you’ll love them, and they are going to love you too. However, there’s one thing you must not talk about.”
“What?” Blair immediately worried. “About how I feel about you?”
“No, they already know that much.”
“Oh God! I can face open heart surgery, but I don’t know how well I can handle today.” Blair kept looking out the window.
Alex laughed. “It will be okay, trust me. The thing you cannot mention is your Harley.”
Blair couldn’t help laughing. It was laughter of relief. She had been expecting something a lot worse. “I’m near a nervous breakdown over here and you are worried about me mentioning my bike?”
“I’m serious. A nervous breakdown is nothing compared to what would happen if you mention the Harley. If you do, you will never hear the end of it.”
Blair laughed. “Okay, I won’t. It’s not like I’m that fond of it myself.”
“You can laugh all you want to now, but if you mention it, we are doomed.”
“I won’t, don’t worry.”
“Specially M’Addy. If she finds out, all hell will break loose.”
“Thanks for the heads up. I want to make a good impression. I don’t want to ruin anything. I’m nervous enough as things are.” She looked out the window. “I want them to like me.”
Alex took her hand and smiled. “Don’t worry, they adore you already.”
“How much have you told them about me? And about you and me?”
“I tell them everything. Do you think that I wouldn’t tell them that I’ve kissed a woman?”
“Oh, shit, Alex! You’ve told the
m that?”
“Of course, they are not just my moms. They are my guides and inspiration. Wait ‘till you meet them. They’ll have you pouring your guts out to them within the first two seconds.”
“Should I apologize, or something?”
“For what?”
“For taking liberties with their daughter.” Blair’s reply surprised Alex.
“What?” Alex pulled to the side of the road.
“What’s wrong?”
“Let’s get something clear, right now. One, you don’t need to apologize for anything, and two, you haven’t taken any liberties that haven’t been given. Are we clear on that?”
Blair sort of smiled wondering what was going on. “Yes. Did I say something wrong? Something that ticked you off?”
Alex relaxed in her seat. “No, I just don’t want you to feel that things are happening on your account only. Just because I’m not all that clear with regards to certain things, that doesn’t mean that I’m not enjoying what’s happening, or that I’m not receptive.” She looked straight up the road. “I’m just feeling my way as I go. I don’t act on my feelings sometimes because I’m not sure of what they are, but it’s not that I don’t feel anything, I do. I’m just unsure, and I don’t want to act on insecure feelings mainly because I’m trying to be mindful about your feelings. I think that when we kiss—.” She looked down and then abruptly up and straight into Blair’s face as if trying to find what to say.
Blair interrupted her. “Alex, that time when you stayed at my house, and kissed me that morning when I was leaving for work, I don’t know if you were totally awake, but that kiss was the best kiss of my life. What I felt was amazing. I know what you are capable of feeling.” Blair smiled lightly, her breathing was fast and she seemed anxious.
“I don’t know what you felt because you didn’t say anything, but I remember being awake and feeling every bit of it.” Realizing that she volunteered too much, she quickly turned the matter to Blair. “And didn’t we agree that we were going to tell each other what we feel?”
