Having spent the last hour and a half annihilating aliens from another planet and succeeding, Luc packed up ready to turn in for the night.
“I’m off to bed Rachel! G’night.”
Rachel was sitting at the kitchen table busying herself with something on her iPad when she looked up to see him walking towards her lifting his hand in a departing gesture.
“D’you want some tea or something before you go?” she asked him with a tilt of her head and a little smile. He really was so very pretty to look at; a little tired maybe but it did nothing to dim the mega watt smile he threw her.
Sensing an opportunity, Luc didn’t hesitate to accept her offer and the result was the two of them chatting long into the night about his degree; Rachel’s previous career; the twins; and other inane subjects. They were enjoying themselves and Rachel was laughing at one of Luc’s hilarious stories of the antics he got up to with her daughters, when Jess and Lucy returned from their night out.
“Hey Mama; Hey Luc” greeted Lucy. “Hmm tea! Jess make us a cuppa.” Lucy sat herself down on Luc’s lap kissing him hard on the cheek wrapping her arms around his neck playfully.
“Urgh, get off me, you stink of booze” complained Luc but that just made Lucy cling on harder and smother his face with little wet licks. “God, you’re gross” he laughed as she finally stopped attacking him and started giggling.
Jess brought over 2 steaming mugs of hot tea and the 4 of them continued to chat away for another hour until Rachel’s eyelids drooped. Yawning, she made her apologies and bade them goodnight but not before Luc dazzled her again with one of his killer dimpled grins.
“Sleep tight Rachel – thanks for the tea.” He winked at her and Rachel felt it all the way from her toes to the top of her head. Her face flooded with heat as she turned and left them gossiping at the table, and she wondered if perhaps Luc was flirting a little bit with her. To her surprise, Rachel discovered that she didn’t mind at all.

Soon it would be their first Easter without Nate, and traditionally Bank Holidays had always been a time for them to get together and do family stuff. This year, Rachel thought it would be a good idea to go out for lunch rather than suffer through painful memories of past family celebrations in the house. Dinner at home would be traumatic for her and the girls and whilst she really didn’t feel guilty for having her fun thoughts about Luc, she wasn’t ready to have him replace Nate at the head of the family dinner table.
So after much deliberation, Rachel booked the Riverside Restaurant at The Savoy. The luxurious hotel was somewhere she had always wanted to go with Nate, especially the famous American Bar, but they had never got to go. In a way she surmised, this would be a good thing as there would be no reminders of him there and for all of them it would be a wholly new experience. Luc would come with of course – his parents were still happily cruising their way around the world and she wouldn’t hear of him staying home alone.
When she had told the kids earlier in the week they were thrilled with the plan. Jess and Lucy immediately started discussing what to wear and had been raiding Rachel’s wardrobe all week for ‘dressing up’ clothes. Luc meanwhile announced he would have to go shopping, as he had brought nothing but jeans, t-shirts and sweats with him.
“Why are you all looking at me like I’m lunch?” he asked the three ladies he’d stopped dead in their tracks at his shopping suggestion. Jess looked at Lucy who in turn looked at Rachel who nodded her head.
Jess laughed at Luc, “Good luck mate, I can feel a trip to Selfridges coming on and you just became the reason…..”
Luc groaned and tried to get away from his friends who were literally jumping up and down with glee.
“Where do you think you are going?” Rachel grabbed a fistful of the back of Luc’s t-shirt as he turned away. Flipping his head around over to face her, Rachel nearly lost it as his blue eyes bore into hers twinkling with mischief. Smiling he looked down at her and then at the twins, “K, you got me for one afternoon otherwise I’m going in my jeans!”

CHAPTER 4
Sitting in an armchair outside the fitting room of the Men’s department at Selfridges, Rachel was checking her emails on her phone waiting for Luc to come out and show her what she had picked for him to try on.
Lately, her lawyer had been trying to get in touch with her but she wasn’t ready to take the next step and deal with the legal and financial ramifications of Nate’s death. She had plenty of money – the rest could wait. In fact right now the twins were down in the basement probably putting quite a dent in said money having got bored of the Men’s department within 10 minutes of getting there!
Rachel had convinced Luc that a suit would be a good idea as he was going to need one for work soon anyway, so it wouldn’t go to waste. Reluctantly, he agreed – he wasn’t so keen on formalwear and had only ever possessed one suit in his whole life that his dad had got him from M&S. It was nothing compared with the suits Rachel had encouraged him to try on. An enthusiastic young salesman had insisted on helping them and Luc had stood idly by while Rachel had discussed the merits of one designer over another and what cut would suit him best. She was definitely in full cougar mode right now whether she wanted to admit it or not, but he was having fun and he would do pretty much anything to please her; besides her age did not bother him; she was still sizzling hot. Luc was a bit uncomfortable with Rachel paying but she absolutely insisted it was her treat.
Standing in the cubicle, looking in the mirror he was greeted with a lascivious grin reflecting the dirty thoughts he was having about sneaking Rachel into the fitting room having her on her knees with that pretty mouth round his cock. He’d wrap fistfuls of her brown silky hair in his hands keeping her head in place while he watched as he thrust his length as far down her throat as she could take. He wanted to hear her moan around him and shivered in anticipation of when that time would come. His cock twitched in the designer suit pants and he reigned in his fantasy before he was unable to hide how much Rachel affected him.
Surveying himself in the full-length mirror, Luc appreciated subjectively that the designer cut of the cloth looked good on him. He was not oblivious to the fact that he was an attractive man – he had been told so often enough and it had always worked to his advantage. Modesty was not one of Luc’s redeeming qualities and he was pretty certain Rachel fancied him after all her peeping tom activity of late, even if she didn’t admit it to herself yet. He felt they’d really made a connection the other night chatting in the kitchen and he didn’t think he could walk around with a permanent hard on for her much longer – it was time to ramp things up a notch and turn on the Vincent charm. Brushing a hand through his hair to keep his fringe off his face, Luc did up the button of his suit jacket and in his usual lazy swagger, strolled in the direction of the shop floor.
“Rachel’ called Luc softly as he stood in the doorway to the fitting room, “how do I look?”
Judging by the expression on her face, Luc knew he’d created the desired effect. Rachel’s eyes were wide as saucers as she looked him up and down. His facial features were devastating without the fringe that usually partially hid them. Luc had cheekbones to die for and sexy stubble that outlined his square chin and full mouth.
Rachel had chosen a navy blue suit. The jacket was a one button slim fit cut that hugged his torso perfectly without stretching the fabric out of place. As he moved towards her Rachel could see his muscles moving under the jacket tantalisingly. He’d kept on his white T but Rachel had already picked out a shirt for him to wear to the actual lunch. The suit trousers were narrow and flat fronted right now displaying the very reason he was making her mouth water. Rachel’s eyes drank in the way the material caressed his long legs tightening around his thighs and the outline of his groin.
“Holy shit, the boy has a hard on!” Rachel’s thoughts were wild and she mentally high fived herself on having made an excellent choice. She was rewarded with the breath taki
ng vision of the boy man god looking like he belonged on the cover of GQ magazine. Heat pooled in her panties as he sauntered to a stop a little too close to be decent bringing his delectable looking crotch in line Rachel’s face. Her hands flew up instinctively to her face shielding her heated cheeks but doing nothing to calm the storm between her legs.
“D’you think it fits alright?” Luc asked innocently undoing the jacket and stepping back putting himself on full display.
Lowering her hands and clearing her throat, Rachel nodded her assent and waved him back into the fitting room.
“Yes, yes, that will do…” she confirmed in a shaky voice.
“Fuck me!” she cursed quietly as his back view stole all remaining coherent thought. He’d put his hands in the pockets of the trousers causing the back of the jacket to splay open revealing the most perfect arse she’d ever seen in a suit. Long powerful legs took her away from him as he strode back into the dark recesses of the cubicle to change back into his clothes and she just had time to catch the stretch of the fabric over his wide shoulders as he disappeared.
Rachel actually whimpered as she shifted in her chair to try and ease the persistent throb at the apex of her thighs. This boy was certainly making his presence felt; wheedling his way into her family and making her needy in all the wrong ways. Rachel felt like she was on the road to recovery but worried her feelings about Luc were foolish and selfish and ultimately unfaithful to the memory of her dead husband.
Perhaps she could rationalise it by believing it was a purely physical response to Luc’s blatant masculine gorgeousness – he was so handsome and easy on the eye and Rachel wasn’t blind after all. Part of her wondered if he was aware of how he made her feel and judging by his fairly obvious excitement just now; she suspected he’d been harbouring a secret attraction to her. But it was a moot point nevertheless; a reckless affair with her daughters’ best friend was laughable. That sort of thing didn’t really happen and the thought that she was even entertaining the idea was laughable.
Rachel pondered on this as she paid the bill for his new suit, matching shirt, cufflinks, shoes and tie. Already recognising Luc’s unique scent, her body was on full alert as she felt him come up close behind her. Her nipples sprang to life beneath the soft cotton of her bra and chills ran down her spine. So much for being objective then.
“I don’t know how to thank you Rachel.” Luc smiled at her as he took the bags full of his new stuff, and then just as the twins skipped over to meet them so Rachel had no chance to react, he bent down to whisper in her ear, “but I promise to try and find a way.”
Turning to greet his friends, he lifted up his arms towards them showing off the bags.
“Hey guys look at what your mum picked out for me. I’m going to look like Ryan Gosling!”
“In your bloody dreams!” Lucy mocked smacking him on the arm.
“In our dreams you mean!” joked Jess and the three of them took off down the escalator to the car park laughing and fooling around.
Rooted to the spot as her stomach continued to somersault anxiously, Rachel was left in no doubt that the seemingly innocent words of thanks that had just left Luc’s lips so close to her face so that only she could hear, was completely the opposite. Was Luc seriously flirting with her or was it his easy charm that he used on all women – after all he clearly loved being around the opposite sex. Rachel’s heart fluttered nervously at the possibilities that lay behind his parting promise.
**********
After the day of the shopping trip Luc didn’t go out for the rest of the week. Rachel often heard the twins encouraging him to go clubbing with them but he politely and gently refused. Part of her was secretly pleased to have him around; the house felt so empty when she was on her own.
Saturday night, however, Rachel was home alone as the kids had made plans to go to the pub and then out for dinner. They had spent the whole of the previous day; Good Friday studying as usual and wanted to have a bit of fun this holiday weekend. What Rachel should have done is worked on replying to some emails and letters that she had so far ignored – some were to do with her personal financial matters, but mostly concerning Nate’s business..
Nate Renton had been CEO of a well-respected firm of corporate lawyers based in the city called Gyles Bishop. Their comfortable lifestyle was the benefit of all Nate’s hard work, however, the firm’s success was due to their irrefutable reputation for honesty and integrity. Consequently, they weren’t always as ruthless as they could be just to win but Nate said his conscience was at peace even if his bank balance didn’t run to the millions it could have. Although Rachel and the girls were more than appreciative of the comfortable lifestyle Nate had provided – Rachel actually thought they had more than they needed as it was.
The project Nate was trying to get off the ground was the introduction of a pro bono division to Gyles Bishop to deal with small businesses and organisations suffering in the current financial crisis. Nate was keen to involve Rachel due to her relevant experience in that field; however, due to his passing the project had met with some resistance from the other partners and was temporarily on hold. Apparently, Rachel had an obligation to maintain an interest in Nate’s existing projects in the event of his death. As such, she was vaguely aware that she was supposed to approve a decision to discard the project as no one else was prepared to take it over at this time. Rachel had no idea why Nate had instigated that particular protocol. She was keenly aware that this project was a subject close to both her and Nate’s hearts and its termination weighed heavily on her. Rachel wasn’t really required to do anything about it until the new CEO, Joe Mason took over; and decided she’d think about it more then.
Joe had been hired by the senior partners from his family firm in New York, and he had been filling up her in box and voice mail leaving increasingly irritable messages for her to get in touch with him. Rachel had yet to meet him but he sounded very intimidating on the phone and she had no desire to confront him just yet especially as she was empathetic to the sentiment behind Nate’s project. It reminded her a little bit of her own work with charities. Perhaps if she put off making a decision for a bit longer, someone would actually just go ahead and move forward with it and she would never have to meet the man who was about to take up residence in her dead husband’s office.
Tonight, however, Rachel decided to forget about big bad Joe Mason and proceeded to curl up with her kindle on the sofa in the den and indulge her guilty pleasure with the latest best seller all about an improbable relationship based on kinky sex and a happy ever after ending. Thoroughly engrossed and mildly turned on Rachel was so engrossed in the story that she didn’t hear the front door open. Subsequently, when she heard strange noises coming from the kitchen, she got scared there was an intruder in the house and acting on impulse Instead of doing the sensible thing and dialing 999, Rachel decided to go and investigate.
She grabbed Nate’s old cricket bat propped up behind the den door and crept into the kitchen. As her eyes adjusted to a dark silhouette shuffling about by the fridge door Rachel screamed and leapt toward the figure swinging the bat wildly.
“What the fuck!” roared a hoarse voice as Rachel belatedly realised it was Luc.
The horrible consequence of her actions culminated in Luc crashing into the kitchen table in surprise whilst grabbing Rachel and at the same time deflecting the cricket bat with his arms. The result was his 6-foot plus frame cascading to the floor where he landed on his back eliciting a chorus of expletives until Rachel landed on top of him effectively winding him into silence.
“Ohmigod” spluttered Rachel. “Luc are you ok?”
Luc just groaned. Apart from an ache on his arm where she’d whacked him with the cricket bat, he wasn’t at all bad considering the object of his infatuation was now lying fully on top of him, but he wasn’t about to tell her that. The feel of her tits squashed into his chest was bloody fantastic.
“What the fuck happened?” he croaked breathlessly.
/>
Rachel started fumbling about grabbing fistfuls of his leather jacket and trying to get herself up off the floor and more specifically the man she was lying on top of. How she ever thought of him as a boy after experiencing the feel of him beneath her was laughable. Instead of berating herself for creating such an appalling situation she found she was incredibly hot and bothered.
“Luc, let go of me.” she croaked as his hands had somehow found their way to her waist effectively keeping her plastered to his body. She noticed he had gone very still; the effect she was having on him indecently evident as she felt his impressive cock harden against her stomach. Rachel’s heart was hammering so hard in her chest she was sure Luc would be able to feel it too, and her stomach was flipping with desire as his all too familiar musky scent filled her nostrils.
“No, no, no….” she protested pushing against his chest, “this is so not happening. What the hell are you doing home – you were supposed to be in the pub with the twins and your friends.”
