I paused in my work when I heard a soft cry from the deck, but Ryder got up immediately to check on the little guy.

I had been lucky with an easy delivery, and Ryder Daniel Harris Jr. had been born in December, a healthy and screaming eight pounds, three ounces.

I had decided to take a few months off to stay at home and care for him, I was so grateful for this time and remembered the terror I’d felt when faced with hard choices as a single mother in the city. I was planning on taking over the books and management of the ranch completely the moment I felt I was ready. Ryder and I would eventually own the whole thing, and with my help the family wouldn’t have to start selling off land and downsizing. For now, I helped out as much as I could, but I balanced it with time to be a mom.

It was exciting, to run such a huge operation and know that any transactions that brought us income would be going right back into the family, not lining the pockets of some jerk CEO like my last job. I looked forward to the challenge of making the ranch successful.

Lee had brought over bags and bags of clothes and baby items, and had given me many tutorials on what the heck to do with half of them. Sometimes it seemed operating a baby swing was more complicated than handling multi-million dollar financial transactions.

I heard another cry, louder this time, and looked up to see Ryder looking frantic as he tried to calm the baby. My body responded immediately and I felt the familiar tingling in my breasts that told me it was time for the baby to eat.

I brushed off my hands and walked over, smiling at Ryder the entire time as my heart filled with love. In spite of being an amazing father, he still seemed lost occasionally and right now he had that look on his face that he needed me, they both did.

I took the baby, sat down in a big comfy deck chair and set him to my breast. I leaned back and felt the warmth from the sun on my face and heard birdsong, a gentle breeze in the trees and the soft sound of my little guy nursing.

My life really was complete, I’d come full circle and gotten some of the travel bug out of my system before I’d found Ryder again. This was pure bliss for me, love, family and the man of my dreams.

And if it really was just a dream, I never wanted to wake up. I wanted to stay here in this moment forever, feeling the love wash over me, through me and all around me

I watched Alex feeding our son, her face glowing in the golden splendor of the day, her eyes closed with a small smile on her face.

Sometimes I still wished I could get inside her head, she was a deeply thoughtful woman with secret thoughts and ideas. I wasn’t frightened by this any longer, but I was endlessly fascinated by how her mind worked.

She used to seem so flighty to me, but like many new mothers, she had settled down as soon as she saw the face of our sweet baby.

I was planning on surprising her with a trip though, when the baby was a little older. I sensed that she still wanted to see the world and I wanted to give it to her, her adventurous spirit excited me and I was just happy to be along for the ride.

I heard her sigh and shift, and realized the baby had fallen asleep. I gently took our son from Alex, and walked him to the nursery. I carefully lowered him into the crib and marveled at the soft little face, the tuft of dark hair, his mother’s lips, the perfect blend of the two of us.

Alex had lunch on the table by the time I got down to the kitchen. We sat and ate in comfortable silence, something precious to us as new parents with a loud and busy life now.

Alex watched me carefully as I chewed my sandwich, a hungry look in her eye that sparked my desire. I felt my cock twitch at the open invitation on her face.

“What are you thinking about?” I asked, reaching for her hand. “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”

“That depends,” she said, licking breadcrumbs from her lips and giving me a sassy wink.

“Depends on what?” I asked, my cock fully hard and ready to plunge into her the minute she wanted it.

“It depends on whether or not you were thinking about fucking me,” she grinned and stood up, tugging my hand and pulling me with her.

“Well it turns out we were thinking the same thing.” I chuckled and eagerly followed her up the stairs to our room.

She laughed, wiggled her ass at me as she walked up and said, “Let’s take advantage of this nap, I have something new I want to try.”

As always, I trailed eagerly behind, breathing in her heady scent and unzipping my jeans as we went.
