  “I'm fine. Scratch,” he said, looking at blood soaked arm and shoulder. He could feel the adrenaline ebb, and the scratch started to throb a bit. He winced.

  “I think it's more than a scratch,” the girl said suspiciously. “We need to get you cleaned up.”

  “I'll be fine.”

  “No you won't. I wasn't asking anyway. Cuts, even paper cuts, can get infected,” she warned. “Someone get the first aid kit.”

  He made a sour face, looking at the wounds. “Thanks, you would point that out.”

  “Just doing my part to help,” she said, pulling at the shirt to look underneath.
