‘’That’s sad. I’m sorry.’’
‘’It’s nice to finally understand why our mother wasn’t around much. Each time she looked at me and William, she must have seen dad in us and all the heartache he served her on a daily basis. Yet, she was always there whenever William had a competition or attended a science fair or whatever it was that he was doing. And she was always there on the sideline to every single one of my football games. She was always there when we reached out to her. She was the one I called when I had been in the car accident in college. You can say a lot about my mom, but at least she always picked up the phone when we called, unlike dad.’’
‘’What about Molina? After you guys finally told your mom about her parentage, do you think your mother will ever be able to accept her as part of the family?’’
‘’I don’t know. I hope so. She’s still mad at us for having kept it a secret for years. I don’t think mom hates Molina. I actually think they get along well for the most part, but then Mom gets stuck in the past, and all she sees when she looks at Molina is expensive diamonds, cars, bags, and spa treatments. Whether we like it or not, Molina is the product of dad’s cheating, and I can’t imagine how hard it must be for Mom to have to face that every day. Molina isn’t just a thought or someone existing out there somewhere; she’s real and right in front of her. I understand Mom’s pain, and I think Molina does too, but I’m strangely positive that they’ll come to regard each other as family one day.’’
‘’Me too,’’ Ava responded with reassurance.
‘’Really?’’
‘’Yes, really. They’ve made huge progress already. Besides, it’s basically humanly impossible not to like Molina. She’s annoyingly kind and perfect...and mean and fierce when she has to be. She’s a Montgomery through and through.’’
‘’I think you’re right...as always.’’
Ava hummed in agreement, letting the silence of the room take over as they cuddled together. The silence didn’t feel empty and lonely with Ava by his side. It felt peaceful. It was pure tranquility.
Grayson rubbed Ava on the stomach, stilling his hand when his son kicked. He still couldn’t believe how he had gotten this lucky in life. Whatever he had done in his life up until now, he wouldn’t change a thing because it meant he had Ava.
Another kick from his unborn son made him laugh with happiness, his sadness momentarily forgotten. He remembered the first time he became a dad; it was the most precious and surreal experience. He and Ava had both been scared out of their minds and had doubted themselves about becoming parents, but they had never doubted each other. They were in this parenting gig together. Every step of the way. And not to brag, but so far, they had been damn good at it.
Ava’s plump lips nibbling on his earlobe had Grayson grunting and snarling with want. It had been days since the last time he had his wife in his arms.
‘’Did you say that the children are gone? That we are all alone?’’
‘’Yeah,’’ Grayson growled, his hand traveling with hunger down between Ava’s legs.
‘’I want to play a game,’’ she moaned, riding his hand, her pussy soaking wet with need.
‘’What game?’’
‘’A grown-up game,’’ she responded cheekily.
His eyes darkened with lust as she ripped his shirt apart and buttons went flying everywhere. Grayson groaned at the sensation. His little church mouse was filled with hormones, making her even more demanding in bed, and he fucking loved it.
‘’Do you want to play a grown-up game with me, Mr. Montgomery?’’
Grayson snarled, standing up with Ava in his arms, her hands automatically banding around his neck. He carried her effortlessly to their bed. He sat down on the mattress with his wife placed in his lap.
Ava grinded against his hard cock, making Grayson delirious with desire. It wouldn’t take much for him to come, so he gripped her hips in a firm hold, stopping her movements. Time stood still as he gazed into his wife’s beautiful, chocolate-colored eyes, watching as they wordlessly screamed out the love she had for him.
‘’I love you, Grayson. You’re stuck with me,’’ she mumbled before kissing him deeply, her lips exterminating all of his worries and bad thoughts. He squeezed her ass, digging his fingers into her flesh, wanting to leave his marks everywhere on her skin.
He let Ava push him down on his back. He went freely because it gave him the perfect view of his wife sitting in his lap, grinding down on his hard cock. He smugly reveled in their love for each other and the life they shared. He swore he would never take her or their life together for granted.
‘’I love you, Ava,’’ Grayson spoke, his voice heavy with emotion. ‘’I’ve loved you for 3254 days, and I won’t ever stop.’’
Grayson cupped Ava’s jaw and joined them together in a fierce kiss.
