The Inventive Bride: Country Brides & Cowboy Boots

Logan placed two calming hands on her shoulders. “Kathy’s got it taken care of. Best possible job for a grandmother—letting her take over the primping and prepping of our junior bridesmaid.”
“Maid of honor,” Frankie corrected.
“Whatever you want to call her, Harper and Kathy are in their element. I had to leave the house because I couldn’t take any more of Harper’s exuberant chatter.” Frankie knew he didn’t really mean that. Having Harper all in for their wedding made it that much easier for them to take that next step. “Now I need to make sure the best man has the rings, and all that.”
Frankie’s eyes flicked to the shared wall between his office and her shop. “Darren’s next door at Frank & Signs, waiting to walk me over.” She fidgeted with her engagement ring. “What else are we forgetting?”
Logan took her hands in his, lifting them and placing a tender kiss on the back of one. “Nothing, my love.” He paused, and she tried to let that settle her worries. “Everything is in place except the bride and groom.” He dropped her hands and caught her about the waist. He took a long moment looking at her. “And I thought Harper looked beautiful.” He kissed her tenderly. “You are absolutely stunning.”
“Thank you.” She sighed in pleasure. She really was a lucky woman. To have a man she truly loved and who truly loved her. A man who lifted her up in every way. A man who made her excited about their future.
He leaned forward, about to kiss her again, but she lifted a finger to his lips, stopping him halfway to her. “I love you, Logan Wells, and I’ll let you do that again in about an hour. In front of all our family and friends.”
She turned around and fished out the brass pocket watch she’d been going to leave with the letter. She placed it in his hand, nervous for him to understand the significance of the project she’d worked hard on over the past couple of weeks. “Thank you for finding me.”
“Thank you for seeing me.” He hit the spring button with his thumb, and the cover popped open to reveal a compass face with working clock arms to tell time. Frankie had made the special gift, melding her love of timepieces and his fascination with geocaching. He carefully closed the lid before looking longingly into her eyes with a smile. “I will treasure this.” Closing his fingers around it, he rested his fist on his chest for a moment. “I’m so ready for this next adventure, as long as it’s with you.” He slipped the watch into his pocket and then held out his hand. “How about you? Are you ready?”
“Completely.” Together they walked out of Logan’s office and toward their future.

Through a series of innocent misconceptions and a few blatant lies, Brynn doesn’t realize that the handsome single guy on the construction crew is her new partner, and he doesn’t want to set her straight until he can gain her favor.
