I Don't Want to be Married

Still, she fretted. “Make sure our new boarders are taken care of. The training camps can be scheduled four to six weeks out. Check with the contractors.”
“Rosalind, everything will be fine. Don’t worry about us. It’s time to concentrate on you and the baby,” Max stressed.
“You’re right,” she gulped and breathed. “I can’t help it. This is my dream come true.”
The third trailer halted as Allan exited his new black Suburban and strolled casually over to the porch. “Honey, what do you think of my new truck?”
Rosalind rubbed her tummy in a circular motion, willing the contraction not to be a strong one. “It looks . . . like a city boy pretending to be a redneck.”
“That hurt.” Allan paused at the stairs and glanced back at the truck. “You mean I’m not getting the hang of being a cowboy?”
Walt and Max waited to the side with their hands on their hips. She stepped down. He kissed her and put his hand on her bulging belly.
“Does it have a full tank of gas?” she asked.
He shifted his gaze to her. “Sure, why?”
“We need to leave for the hospital. We can call the doctor to let him know we’re on our way.”
Allan looked to Walt and Max, and then back to Rosalind. “It’s time?”
“Yes, our little girl is ready to make her entrance.”
“Can you walk? Should I carry you?” Allan took a couple of steps in one direction, and then turned. “What am I supposed to do?”
Rosalind laughed along with Max and Walt. She silently thanked Grandpa Rodney and Sam for their insight.
Her new life would never be dull with her City Boy Cowboy in the picture.
