Buying A Bride Page 16

He pulled away and looked up at me. “Then tell me what you want, baby girl.”

  “You.”

  Aaron smirked.

Before I knew what was happening, he had me on the floor. Once again, he pinned my arms above my hand, taking full control of the situation. He pressed himself against my body. Even with his pants, I could feel his massive erection getting bigger and harder by the minute.

God, I wanted it so bad, my pussy gushing with anticipation.

He held me even tighter, grinding with a rough lust.

“How bad do you want it?” Aaron whispered before biting my ear lobe.

“So bad,” I moaned and squirmed underneath him.

He let go of my arms and sat up so he could unbutton his pants.

I watched him with hunger in my eyes. No matter how many times we made love, I still grew excited every time he took off his clothes. I knew what to expect by now, but it nonetheless brought a shiver to my spine. I bit my bottom lip in anticipation.

The clothes seemed to melt right off his body. Once he was shirtless, his smirk deepened. “Like what you see?”

All I could do was nod, already trapped in his seductive gaze by that bronzed, god-like body.

“Good.” Finally, his briefs flew across the room. His hand started off at the base of his cock before moving up and down at a steady pace. It throbbed.

  Mmm.

I wanted it. My mouth watered.

Gently, he pressed the tip against my hole. While looking into my eyes, he pushed it inside of me. Inch by inch, his cock became lost within my tight, little pussy.

“Aaron,” I moaned his name while arching my back. This was only the beginning but the pleasure already coursed through every inch of my body. Somehow, being with Aaron just got better and better every time.

“Shh, baby girl, just enjoy it. I’m going to make you feel good.” He spoke these words while fondling my right breast. Abruptly, he took my nipple between his fingers and tweaked it roughly.

I cried out, body becoming tense.

He took the opportunity to ram into me.

  I screamed even louder.

He didn’t stop. He fucked me hard and faster, rocking my entire world. I could hear his labored breath in my ear. Even that felt electrifyingly good.

“Harder,” I begged in a ragged voice. I ran my nails down his back, leaving marks.

He did exactly that. Aaron was now ramming me like a mad man and my pussy swallowed his dick wholesale, loving the heavy pounding.

“Oh god!” I tilted my head back, eyes rolling into my skull. “I’m going to come!”

“Come for me, baby,” he ordered in his husky whisper.

It was too much for me to handle. The pleasure exploded inside of me. I came hard.

“Aaron!” was my scream. “God, yes!”

A few seconds later, he spilled his seed onto my chest and grinned down at me. Without a word, he took me into his arms and carried me into the bedroom. There he set me down with the utmost care before grabbing a wet wipe and cleaning the cum off my body. With a smile, he crawled into bed with me, holding me tight against his chest.

He must love me, right? Otherwise, how could this incredible connection be explained?

  Chapter Eighteen

  Melanie

When I woke up the next morning, Grace, one of the maids, was packing up all my new clothes into suitcases. I rubbed my eyes and sat up before I realized that the bed was empty.

“Where’s Aaron?” I asked. My brain was still muddled by sleep. All that mattered was that Aaron was gone.

“He’s gone out,” Grace answered. Without looking me in the eye, she continued to pack up my things. She worked meticulously yet quickly, folding each article of clothing as neatly as possible.

“Do you know where?” I asked, stretching slightly. I was sore in the best possible places from Aaron’s frenetic lovemaking. He’d stretched me and used me in ways I’d previously thought impossible.

But Grace avoided looking me in the eye.

  “Grace?”

It wasn’t like her to be this quiet. After spending three months at Aaron’s estate, I had come to know most of the staff, Grace best of all. She was always helping me with my makeup or with a dress zipper, and was friendly and chipper every day.

  “Grace?”

“I don’t know where he is, Miss.”

  “Did he not tell you?”

“No, he simply left this morning. He didn’t say anything.” Her words sounded oddly flat and tuneless.

Suddenly, I sat up, a sense of dread weighing heavily in my heart. Oh no, this was my last day – the day I where I would be expected to leave. But what about last night? Things had felt so amazing – so right. So how could he possibly ask me to leave after all that?

Grace glanced up at me again, an awkward expression on her face. Of course, this must be difficult for her. Nonetheless, she continued to follow orders, folding dress after dress into the suitcases.

“Mr. Black left instructions that you should be escorted out of the house by noon,” she said quietly, barely able to find her voice.

I blinked. Noon? How soon was that? Did I still have time to see him again or would I get kicked out of the house without so much as a goodbye?

“I’m very sorry about this,” the maid said in a voice so quiet it was almost a whisper.

I shook my head. It wasn’t Grace’s fault. It was her job to get me out of the house. I couldn’t possibly hold that against her, especially since she had been nothing but a tremendous help these past three months. She was the one person I could turn to when things were going wrong.

“Grace, I don’t understand. Is he really kicking me out?”

She hesitated before nodding ever so slightly. “Unfortunately, it would seem that way.” Gently, she rested her hand on my shoulder. “I wouldn’t take it personally. These rich men, they think they can buy companionship, but they don’t understand the impact it has on the girls. So please try to understand.”

“Understand?” I asked, absolutely flummoxed. “How am I supposed to understand anything right now?”

“Do you want some tea? It’ll calm your nerves,” she offered.

  “No.” I shook my head.

I still couldn’t believe this. Our time together had ended, and Aaron hadn’t even bothered with a goodbye. Did I mean that little to him? Was he already looking for his next live-in girlfriend to replace me? Maybe I was jumping to conclusions, but I just couldn’t help it. My heart felt like it was breaking. I could hardly breathe.

  “Miss?”

I ignored Grace as I numbly rolled out of bed and shuffled into the bathroom. There I turned on the shower just to hide the fact that I was crying.

The sobs ripped through my body. I hugged myself feeling like I would fall apart at the seams if I didn’t. This couldn’t be happening. Last night, I had been so sure that he’d ask me to stay and now he’d ordered someone to pack up all my stuff and kick me out.

How could he be so cold? All I wanted was a goodbye.

I leaned against the wall. My legs felt like jelly. Unable to keep myself up, I fell to the ground. I hugged my knees and buried my face, wishing it all away.

For a long time, I sat there, hoping this was all just a nightmare, but, of course, it wasn’t.

Eventually, I got up and stepped into the shower. The warm water did nothing to fend off the chill that had settled into my bones. I simply went through the motions, lathering my hair with shampoo, rubbing in some conditioner, and then rubbing my body with a soapy sponge.

All this was supposed to make me feel better but it didn’t. When I stepped out of the shower, I was just as miserable as before.

Taking a deep breath, I tried to steady myself. I knew this was coming. I had anticipated this moment and yet, it still hurt like fucking hell. What was I supposed to do? I had fallen in love with this man and now he expected me to leave. I didn’t want to.

  But what choice did I
have? I couldn’t stay where I wasn’t wanted. I didn’t want to become a parasite in his life.

Slowly, I got dressed and walked right past the mirror. There was no point looking at my reflection. I no longer needed to impress anyone.

With shaking fingers, I turned the knob and stepped back into the bedroom. I saw that my things had already been removed. The room was utterly empty, pristine and still like no one lived there.

My footsteps echoed against the walls as I headed for the door.

Downstairs I smelled breakfast but I didn’t have an appetite. My stomach kept churning into a tighter and tighter knot. Just the thought of food was enough to make me feel queasy.

I stepped outside. At least the cool morning breeze against my cheeks helped me feel a little better. The pain lingered inside my chest, but the fresh air made it easier to breathe.

As I stood on porch, I looked out at the estate. For three months, I had called this place my home and now it was going to be nothing but a memory. My shoulders sagged.

“Are you ready?” The chauffeur that had picked me up on that very first day appeared before me. “Or would you like another minute?” He had an apologetic expression on his face.

“No, I’ll go,” I answered, voice dull. There was no point prolonging my departure. It would happen regardless. Might as well get it over with.

He held out his hand. “Right this way, Miss.”

I took it and followed him to the car. It was packed with all my belongings. I tried not to look at the mountain of luggage as I climbed into the passenger seat.

“Are you all right, Miss?” he asked just as soon as I closed my door. “I’m surprised that he’s sending you back, in all honesty.”

“I’m sorry, but I don’t want to talk about this.”

He frowned. “I’m only suggesting that maybe you might consider waiting until noon to leave? Surely, Mr. Black will return by then and you can have a proper conversation with him. I would hate for you to leave on such terrible terms.”

I shook my head. “If he wanted to talk to me then he should have thought about that before disappearing. It’s obvious that he wants me gone.”

“I wouldn’t jump to such conclusions,” the chauffeur insisted. “Please, consider staying for a few more minutes. I’m sure this is all one big misunderstanding.”

“It’s not,” I said through pressed lips. “It’s not a misunderstanding. It was bound to end like this from the start. I was just a fool thinking it could end up somewhere else. I was too hopeful and now, here I am, heartbroken, being kicked to the curb.”

“Miss, please understand that no one is forcing you to leave the estate at this moment.”

“But you have instructions to escort me off the estate by noon, isn’t that right?”

  “We do but – “

I held out my hand to stop him from speaking. “Please, Victor, I can’t stand this. Just take me home.”

With a sigh, he nodded his head. “Very well, Miss.”

For the entire length of the ride back to my apartment, I was silent. My mind buzzed. My body felt cold.

  I was stunned.

After all, I had been so sure of Aaron’s feelings. The way he looked at me last night – that sparkle in his eye – it had to mean something, right? In that moment by the pond at the restaurant, I felt a connection. Hadn’t he felt it, too? Or had this meant nothing to him?

The thought filled me with sadness. But it was more than that. Just thinking about Aaron brought forth a physical pain that tore through my chest like someone had plunged a red-hot knife into my heart and kept turning it and turning it and turning it.

My heart wasn’t breaking. It was being torn out of my chest and dashed to pieces.

Eventually, after what felt like an eternity, we pulled up in front of my mom’s apartment.

The chauffeur was about to get out of the car when I stopped him, placing my hand on his arm. “Don’t bother. I don’t need any of the things that he bought for me.”

“Miss?” He cocked an eyebrow in question. “But they’re yours. They’re for you.”

“No. They were never mine to begin with,” I whispered. Deep down, I just wanted to be left at the curb with nothing.

“Are you sure? Mr. Black instructed –”

“Please, I don’t want to hear about any more of Mr. Black’s instructions. I get it. He wanted me gone. He’s had this planned well in advanced.” The tears stung at the corners of my eyes.

Victor nodded miserably. “Please, keep the items.”

“I-I can’t,” I choked. Just the thought that he had bought me all of those things just to get rid of me in the end was painful to think about. Besides, I didn’t need a constant reminder of the man I used to love.

“Very well,” he answered with a nod. “I’ll bring them back to the estate as you’ve requested.”

“Thank you.” My voice was barely a whisper. I looked down, not wanting this man to see me cry.

The chauffeur, looking unsure and at a loss. “Do you need help with anything else? Perhaps I can walk you to your apartment.”

“No,” I said, my hand already on the door handle. Taking a deep breath, I climbed out of the car.

The chauffeur looked at me through his window, an apologetic look on his face. Before I could walk away, he rolled down his window and held out a piece of paper. “If you ever need something, please, don’t hesitate to call. Everyone at the estate has grown so fond of you. We’re sorry to see you go.”

I shook my head as the tears began flowing freely down my cheeks. I couldn’t stand this. Quickly, I rushed toward the apartment. Once I got onto the front porch, I heard the car drive off. I turned slowly and watched as the car slowly disappeared into the distance. Well, that’s that. No more Aaron Black.

  My heart tightened with pain.

For a while, I just stood there, unsure of my next move. The apartment loomed over me like an ominous giant. I really didn’t want to go inside. I didn’t want to face my mother – nor anyone else for that matter. I just wanted to be alone for a little while.

But I couldn’t just stand there forever. Taking a deep breath, I gathered my courage and energy. I would have to face her sooner or later.

Carefully, I opened the front door. As always, it was unlocked. The foyer was filthy, stacked high with boxes from our neighbors. A broken tricycle was tucked away in the corner. With shaking fingers, I reached forward and grabbed the bannister, using it to climb the stairs. They creaked with my every step as if warning me to turn back around.

But where was I supposed to go now? Aaron didn’t want me anymore.

So this was the only home that I had left.

Finally, I reached the third floor. I stood in front of the door for a moment, heart pounding. This was it.

  I opened the door.

When I walked into the living room, I found my mom sitting on the couch. Thankfully, she wasn’t drinking.

Without a word, I sat down beside her, staring into the space before me.

“I missed you,” Mom said quietly

Those three words were enough to break me out of my heart-broken numbness. Within seconds, she wrapped her arms around my body and hugged me tightly.

I needed that because without warning, I broke down into tears. I could no longer hold them back. “Oh, Mom.” I sobbed as my body began to shake.

“Oh, honey. It’s okay.” She ran her hands up and down my back, trying to calm me down. “Don’t cry.”

“I fell in love with him, Mom.” I pressed my head to her chest. “I couldn’t help it.” My words were muffled but I was sure my mom could understand me because she held me even tighter.

Gently, she ran her fingers through my hair. “Shh, shh.”

“And I was so sure he loved me too. Whenever he looked at me, there was this spark in the air. It always sent a shiver through my spine. Couldn’t he feel it too?”

“Oh, honey.” She pushed on my shoulders slightly, so I was forced
to look into her face. “I’m so sorry. I had hoped Aaron Black would be good for you.”

I laughed bitterly. “Evidently, I was nothing more than an employee this whole time,” I said sorrowfully with a shake of my head.

When the sobs finally stopped, I sat up and wiped away my tears. I was angry at myself for breaking down. If Aaron only saw me as someone he could use, then he didn’t deserve my tears. He didn’t deserve me.

Still, deep down, I continued to love him. Why? I honestly didn’t know.

Maybe it’s true what they say – love is blind. Ha.

I blinked, pushing away thoughts of him. When I opened my eyes, I glanced around the apartment. It was just as shabby as it was three months ago.

“Hey, aren’t you a millionaire? Why are you still here anyway? Shouldn’t you be at rehab?” I asked, suddenly remembering the reason why I had put up with the whole live-in companion agreement in the first place. I did all that for her and yet everything was exactly the same as it was before.

My mother shrugged mysteriously. “I lost a bet,” she said, her voice tinged with sadness. “But more on that later, sweetheart. I’m glad you’re home.”

What in the world? My mom lost a bet with Aaron? Questions hovered on the tip of my tongue, but at the same time, I didn’t want to know. The billionaire was done with me … and there was no sense in re-living the sordid details now.

  Chapter Nineteen

  Melanie

  Six months later …

“What can I get you folks?” I asked a young couple who looked at each other with lovestruck eyes. Just the sight of them made my stomach churn.

I was working a shift at Harry’s, like every Friday night. I’d been swamping myself with work lately, trying to drown out everything else in my life.

At least when I’m serving tables, I’m not thinking about him.

“Can you give us a minute?” the man spoke up.

“Of course. Just let me know when you’re ready.”

As soon as I walked away, they started to whisper with their heads close together, foreheads almost touching. I looked away. I couldn’t stand to bear witness to such a loving relationship.
