“Hmm, no, you’re definitely a teddy bear.”

“Oh yeah, and what are Wolfe and Caleb then? A princess and a fairy? Actually, yeah, I can see that.”

“No, Papa,” she said as he ran a hand up and down her back. She yawned, exhausted after all that sugar. At least her tummy was no longer making all those noises. “Wolfie is obviously a wolf.”

  Duh.

  “Course he is. Bastard.”

“And Caleb, well, he always reminds me of an eagle. Loyal and protective.”

Aleki started muttering under his breath.

“But you, you’re my teddy bear. My best friend. You give the best cuddles. You make me laugh.”

“I don’t hear anything about being the most handsome and the best lover.”

She giggled. “That goes without saying.”

He puffed out his chest. “Damn straight.”

“I was lost without you,” she murmured.

“Me too, baby girl. Me too.”

“Wakey, wakey, baby girl,” Aleki sang. “It’s morning time.”

She cracked an eye open. It wasn’t morning. It was still dark. And why’d he have to sound so cheerful?

“Go away. Sleeping.” Like he should be doing.

Yesterday, she’d spent the morning in the playroom, creating more images to torture Caleb with. Poor Caleb. He’d never get the right answer since there was never a right answer.

Then she’d spent the afternoon with Caleb. They had a swimming lesson and then he’d placed her on the edge of the pool, spread her legs, and ate her out as a reward.

After dinner, Aleki had made her one of his special hot chocolates. It was basically chocolate melted with milk and poured into a glass. Then covered with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles.

But the very special part was the two Tim-Tams he’d given her from his secret stash. Wolfe had complained about all that sugar, but she knew he was jealous as he’d watched her do the Tim-Tam slam. Aleki had taught her this years ago. You grabbed a Tim-Tam and took a small nibble at two diagonal corners. You had to eat enough of the cookie to see the chocolate center.

Then you put one end of the cookie in your hot drink, your mouth went around the other end and you sucked the drink up through the cookie.

  Chocolatey goodness.

By that time, she’d barely been able to keep her eyes open. Aleki had carried her to bed. She’d been so tired that she’d fallen asleep as soon as he laid her down.

“Come back to bed,” she mumbled.

“Oh yeah? What will you give me if I come back to bed?” he teased.

“Two more hours of sleep and a blow job.”

He let out a shocked gasp. “A blow job as bribery? I’m shocked, young lady.”

She snorted. Yep, she’d won. She rolled onto her tummy, expecting him to climb back in when the covers were suddenly ripped off her.

“Bad girl, trying to bribe me.” A hand was placed on the small of her back and he peppered her ass with light smacks.

  “Aleki! No! Stop! Damn it!”

She managed to wriggle her way free, sitting up and brushing her hair off her face as she frowned at him. “What are you doing?”

“Waking you up.” He grinned. “Time to get ready, we’ve got to go.”

“I’m not going anywhere with you . . . you monkey butt!”

He raised his eyebrows. “Do you need another spanking?”

“No!” She put her hand up. As though that would stop him. “Just . . . where are we going?”

“To the market, of course. And we need to get moving. So go pee. Slather on some sunscreen so Wolfe doesn’t lose his shit at me and then get dressed. In a skirt. I’ll go grab you one of those protein drinks you love so much.” Whistling, he left the room.

Urgh, he was insufferable! He was just lucky he had a damn fine ass.

And why did she have to wear a skirt?

  * * *

She groaned as Aleki ran his tongue along her lower lips then flicked at her clit.

So she’d found out why she needed a skirt. Access.

After she’d gotten dressed and downed a protein drink, he’d led her outside to where a black car had waited. Their driver had silently opened the door for her. The inside was white leather and luxurious as hell. The partition was already up so she couldn’t see or hear the driver.

Once they were out of the palace gates, Aleki had undone his belt then knelt on the floor in front of her. Placing her legs over his shoulders, he’d pushed her panties to one side before eating her out.

  Fuck.

He was so good at that.

“Better come soon, baby girl. Think we’re nearly there.”

Oh God. He drove his tongue deep inside her before returning it to her swollen clit. She was slick with her own juices. Suddenly, her orgasm slammed into her, making her gasp as her hips rose up. It rocked her, stole her voice, she was flying.

When she found the ground once more, she was barely aware of Aleki moving. He sat up next to her and reached into a compartment on the door, pulling out a packet of wet wipes. He proceeded to clean her up, while she sat there knowing she doing a great impression of a beetroot. When he was finished, he tucked the wipes away in his pocket.

At least he wasn’t leaving them for the driver to pick up she guessed.

Leaning over, he kissed her cheek gently. “Does that make up for an early wake-up call?”

Oh yeah. He could wake her up early anytime.

The market was huge. There had to be hundreds of outdoor stalls, all under huge umbrellas, set out in an enormous courtyard. They were selling all sorts of things from fruit to baked goods to clothing. She was almost in overload from trying to take everything in.

There was so much noise and color, it was dazzling.

Aleki was holding her hand as he led her past different stalls.

“Come on, let’s look around at a few stalls before we get the food,” he suggested. “There’s a stand over this way that sells jewelry you might like.”

She nodded with a smile. She’d like to look, but she didn’t really need anything. Lots of people called out things to her cheerfully, trying to pull her over to their stalls. Most spoke English, although she heard a lot of people speaking a foreign language she didn’t recognize. She felt bad that she couldn’t stop and buy something from them all.

But Aleki led her to a stall. She stared at the different stones and metals in awe. It was all so beautiful. As Aleki chatted with the stallholder, she looked over the stunning pieces. She picked up a bracelet made with soft, black leather that had a golden cuff that sat around one side of your wrist.

“Do you like it?” Aleki murmured, moving up beside her.

  “It’s gorgeous.”

“Please, try it on,” the stallholder said before turning to talk to another customer. Aleki placed the bracelet on her.

“Fits perfectly. I’m going to get it for you.”

She placed her hand over his. “Thank you, but you don’t have to.”

  “I want to.”

Leaning in, he kissed her then moved to talk to the stallholder. She wandered over to the next stall, making sure she could still see Aleki.

“Miss! Miss! Come see my sister!”

Her hand was tugged and she glanced down at the little boy, standing there. He was gorgeous with big eyes and scruffy brown hair.

“Miss, my sister needs help! Please!” He tugged urgently at her hand.

“Help? What’s wrong? Just let me get my boyfriend.” She turned back to catch Aleki’s eye.

  “Please, miss! Help!”

She tried to find someone else to help, but they were all busy. And Aleki was haggling with the owner of the jewelry stall.

“Where is she? Does she need help?” she asked, torn over what to do.

“She’s just over here. Please, miss!” He burst into tears and her heart melted.

“Okay, show me.” She couldn’t let
a child suffer.

She’d check on the little girl. Get her some help if needed and get back to Aleki. Surely, he couldn’t be too mad? It was a child.

The small boy was surprisingly strong. He led her to an alleyway behind the stall. Unease filled her. Okay, this wasn’t right.

“I can’t go in there.” She drew her hand back. “I need to get my friend. I’ll bring him back for your sister.”

“No . . . no, you have to come . . .” The young boy practically threw himself around her. “Please!”

God, the distress in his voice was killing her. She took a step closer to look in the alleyway. A woman dressed in a long white robe stood there. The woman’s hair and face were hidden under a wide-brimmed hat.

Horror filled her as she saw the small girl being held against the woman, a knife held to her tiny neck, a hand over her mouth. The little girl had tears racing down her cheeks.

What the hell was going on?

“Hey! Let her go!” she cried out, stepping forward to grab the girl. “What are you doing?”

“Shut up! Come with me quietly and I’ll let her go.”

Her heart skipped a beat. Fuck. She knew that voice. It was Marilyn. What did she think she was doing?

“I’m coming. I’m coming. Don’t hurt her!” What choice did she have? It was a child at risk. She walked slowly forward. Marilyn shoved the child down and the small girl immediately started wailing.

Marilyn snatched at Vivi, drawing her into the alleyway. Her nails dug into her arm and Vivi winced.

“Ouch! Ease up, you bitch!” Vivi snapped at her, trying to drag her way free.

“Shut up! Shut the fuck up! This is all your fault!”

Vivi looked back to where the children were, but they’d disappeared. Good. At least they were safe.

“What’s my fault?” she asked as calmly as she could. She wasn’t sure that she could get away from Marilyn, not with that knife she held. But she had a far better chance than that child.

Marilyn shoved her and her back hit the wall behind her. Bitch was strong. She waved her hands around. It was cooler here, darker. But Vivi was still able to watch the knife swinging through the air. Somehow, she needed to get that away from her. She could try to run but her ankle still wasn’t that strong. And she didn’t want to let Marilyn go free, either. Not if she was going to go around threatening children.

“This was supposed to be my ticket. Do you think I really wanted to work as a flight attendant? Of course not! What I wanted to do was meet some rich fucking harem and not have to work a day again in my life. It’s what I fucking deserve! Then along you come and mess up everything. And now I’ve lost my job, and those assholes from the palace are chasing me down. I’ve got nowhere to go. And. It’s. Your. Fault.”

Okay. So she was completely delusional.

“My fault? You put a laxative in my porridge!” Vivi snapped at her.

“So? It wasn’t going to harm you. Just make you unattractive to Caleb and Aleki.”

  Not Wolfe?

And she thought Marilyn wanted a rich harem? Not that her guys seemed short on money. But she didn’t think they were ultra-wealthy either.

  “You wanted Aleki and Caleb?”

“Just to fuck. I thought we’d have a fun plane ride home. Also figured I could then use them to get me an introduction to some of the princes’ richer friends. I’m not stupid. I wasn’t aiming for the princes. But maybe some lesser family or something. But you ruined it all!”

  Dear. Lord.

“I didn’t ruin anything. You did this all yourself.”

“Shut up! Shut up!” she screamed, coming forward with the knife held up. Oh shit! Vivi dove to the side. She landed on the ground and rolled.

  Get up! Run!

Then something ran past her, tackling Marilyn who screeched. Something clanged on the ground. The knife?

  “You fucking bitch!” Aleki yelled.

She turned, her heart racing, her entire body shaking as she watched Aleki easily subdue Marilyn. He had her on her stomach on the ground, her hands behind her back as he pinned her down. She screamed, trying to wriggle free. The knife lay a few feet away. She should probably get that, but she couldn’t seem to move.

  “Baby! Baby, are you okay?”

Slowly, she moved her gaze away from Marilyn to look up at Aleki. “What?”

On some level, she knew that she had to be in shock. But she couldn’t seem to shake the cloud surrounding her.

“You’re going to get what’s coming to you, bitch!” Marilyn screamed. “I saw to that.”

“Shut up,” Aleki snapped. “Baby girl. Look at me. Look at me,” he insisted.

“Yes?” she asked, trying to ignore Marilyn.

“I need you to do something for me. Can you do that?”

“Yes.” She could do anything for him when he used that voice. He sounded so sweet. Like he loved her.

“I do love you, baby girl.”

“Let me go!” Marilyn screeched. “Your life will be ruined, bitch! It’s already done, you just don’t know it yet!”

  Vivi flinched.

“Shut the fuck up,” Aleki snarled. “Listen to me now. I’m going to slide my phone to you. I want you to call Caleb for me. Can you do that?”

“I can do that.” She thought she could.

The phone skidded along the ground. She picked it up. Marilyn screamed, making her drop it.

“Oh no. Oh no.” She picked it up, running her hand across the front. “I think I broke the screen.”

“It will be fine,” Aleki told her. “Will you shut up before I shut you up myself!”

Her eyes widened and her breath caught in her throat before she realized he wasn’t talking to her. She’d never heard him sound so angry before.

“Baby girl. I’m not angry at you. Please stop making that noise. You’re killing me here. Damn it, baby. Fuck. Just let me get her secured. Call Caleb, baby girl. Call Daddy, for Papa.”

Call Daddy. For Papa. She could do that. She was vaguely aware of him pulling off his top. What was he doing? She didn’t have time to ponder it. She was too busy trying to remember how to work the phone.

Find Daddy’s name. Press on it. Calling.

“Aleki?” Caleb asked through the phone.

She held the phone up to her ear. “Daddy?”

“Vivi? Jelly bean, are you all right? Where’s Aleki?” Caleb asked, sounding alarmed.

“He’s sitting on Marilyn.” When things were too stressful, she seemed to find comfort in Little space.

“Sitting on Marilyn? What?” Caleb asked.

  “He’s mad.”

“Mad? What do you mean, he’s mad? Never mind, it doesn’t matter right now. Where are you?”

“In an alley. Daddy?” she said.

  “Yes, jelly bean?”

  “She’s really mean.”

“It’s okay, jelly bean,” Caleb soothed. “Aleki has her secured, right?”

“He’s tying up her hands with his shirt. I think he wants to talk to you. Daddy, I want you to come here.”

“I’m on my way, jelly bean. Just stay with Aleki, all right?”

  “All right.”

She handed the phone over to Aleki who kept hold of Marilyn. He said a few quick things before hanging up as people started rushing down the alleyway. Marilyn was fighting against him, even with her hands tied behind her body.

Aleki spoke to the new arrivals sharply in the same language she’d heard in the marketplace. Two of them came forward to help. Suddenly, Aleki was crouching in front of Vivi. He held out his hands. She reached out to him. He drew her up into his arms and she buried her face into his chest.

Everything else faded away. She was safe. In his arms, she was always safe.

“Sweet flower, what did I tell you? You don’t have to get injured to see me. Just say the magic phrase.” Obian shuffled into Vivi’s bedroom where Aleki sat on the bed with her on his lap.

  Vivi di
dn’t even react to Obian’s words and worry shot through Aleki. She was so still, so silent. The only time she gave any indication that she was paying attention to what was going on was when they tried to move her from his arms.

It was flattering as fuck that she wanted to stay with him. But they were going to have problems soon when he needed to use the bathroom.

Leaning in, he kissed the top of her head. They’d checked her over as they drove her back home. Wolfe and Caleb hadn’t taken long to make their way to them. Wolfe was off dealing with Marilyn right now, but was keeping in constant contact with them. As in every two minutes he was texting Caleb for an update. Aleki knew it wouldn’t be long until he returned.

That bitch had attacked their woman. She was going to pay. Aleki didn’t give a shit how. The justice system worked much quicker here than in the states, so he knew they wouldn’t have to wait long before she went up in front of a judge.

Fuck. He couldn’t believe she’d nearly been hurt on his watch.

“She’s been like this since she was attacked,” Caleb told Obian worriedly. “Looks like she’s in shock.”

“Okay,” Obian said in a low, soothing voice. “Let’s see what we’re dealing with. Can you lie her down on the bed?”

“I can try,” Aleki said. Although he was reluctant to let go of her. When he tried to shift her, though, she cried out and clung to him.

“Okay, let’s just leave her where she is,” Obian said. “I’m just going to examine you, sweet flower. All right?”

  She didn’t reply.

Aleki watched Obian place a pulse oximeter on her finger to measure the oxygen in her blood. He took her pulse before he slipped on a blood pressure cuff.

“Her blood pressure is low,” Obian told them.

“But she’s all right?” Caleb asked anxiously, standing at the end of the bed.

“Yes. I think she’s likely in shock.” Obian worked on cleaning up her arm and bandaging it as he spoke. “Keeping her quiet for a while would be a good idea. No more big shocks. Not too much excitement. Maybe a nice bath. Some playtime.” Obian winked down at Vivi.
