  “Man, that’s good stuff.”

  “Don’t I get a drink?” Emma asked.

Jack raised an eyebrow before taking the bottle from Toby. “Ever had brandy?”

“No, but a little won’t hurt, will it?” she said.

“All right. But only a sip,” Jack said, handing her the bottle, wondering if she realized that by her tone and wide, innocent eyes, she was flirting. He figured any man in his right mind couldn’t refuse her, and he definitely had all his faculties.

She placed her lips against the rim of the bottle. When she wrinkled her nose and jerked her head back at the smell, Jack bit back a grin. She threw back her shoulders, placed the bottom edge of the rim against her lips, and took a sip. She coughed, slapped a hand to her chest, and wiped the back of her hand over her mouth. Jack took the bottle back.

“Good stuff,” she choked out, smiling at them.

Jack slammed the cork back into the bottle and placed it on the shelf. “I think we should save these for special occasions.”

  “Like what?” Steve asked.

“I don’t know. We’ll come up with something as we go along.”

“I think we should celebrate tonight,” Toby suggested.

Emma put the rest of the bottles, cigars, and weapons on the shelves. “I think we should wait until this place is fixed up the way we want so we’re not caught hung-over when there’s work to do.”

Jack ignored the mutinous glares on Toby and Steve’s faces and tugged Emma’s hair. “What would a young thing like you know about being hung-over?”

“I’ve never been hung-over myself, but the aftermath of a society dinner or a political fundraiser makes one wonder how any work ever gets done during an election year.” She took in the mess around them. “Why don’t you guys go out and get some water, or hunt, or make a shower or something while I clean up.”

Recognizing the universal sound of a woman ordering her men around and nothing would get done until they obeyed, they left the plane.

Emma looked over her shoulder as the men walked away. Even though she hadn’t seen much of her husband’s body, what she had touched seemed soft and mushy, like she had pressed her finger into bread dough. If she were to touch either of these three, she knew it would feel more like she came in contact with wooden planks. Jean Paul’s rear end hadn’t looked as tight in pants as theirs did.

She caught her breath. If she didn’t stop the comparisons, she was going to be in deep trouble. They’d better get rescued soon before she did something with the men that went against her marital vows.

  Chapter Seven

A short time later, Toby and Jack finished pulling hoses from the engine and were cleaning them out while Steve figured out how to make a nozzle. They decided Emma’s flippant remark about a shower held merit. Walking to the lake every evening to bathe was too much work after their busy days, and they didn’t want to ruin the fresh water with soap.

Emma stepped out of the plane and shook out a blanket.

“What the hell is she wearing now?” Toby demanded.

Jack squinted his eyes toward the plane. “She found some shorts and tank tops in one of the suitcases.”

“Well, hell. I liked the other ones better.”

“So did I, but you weren’t with her before, watching her bend over, her ass half sticking out.” Jack poured hot water into a hose. “For our sanities and her virtue, I suggested she find something else to wear. Unfortunately, we burned her damn bra so now we get to watch her tits wiggle around.”

“I’m not complaining,” Steve said, trying to punch holes in the oil cap with an awl from Jack’s jackknife.

Hot water poured over Jack’s hand. “Dammit,” he yelled, blowing on the burns. “If we keep ourselves busy, we won’t think about her. So quit watching and get to work.”

Toby smacked his finger with a hammer trying to pry two pipes apart. “Son of a bitch,” he yelled, sucking on the injured appendage. “We need to do something about our sleeping arrangements, because I can’t sleep with her so close to me.”

  “My thoughts exactly,” Jack agreed.

“It’s been only two weeks since the crash and we all have the hots for her,” Steve added. “What are we going to do as time goes on? I haven’t been this close to a woman in months. When you can’t touch your students and women think you’re a geek, possibilities are limited.”

“Try working fifteen-hour days for weeks on end in an emergency room,” Toby said. “Except for maybe a quickie with a nurse to relieve tension, there hasn’t been anyone in almost a year.”

“What about you, Jack?” Steve asked.

Jack chuckled. “You know the saying about sailors having a girl in every port? Puddle jumpers have one, too. Supposedly we have a woman waiting for us on every island.”

  “Is it true?” Toby asked.

“Are you kidding? Some of these islands are tiny with very tightly-knit families. They guard their women’s virtues like gold in Fort Knox.” He tossed down the hose and picked up another. “Some islands are larger with more women, but I wouldn’t touch any of them with a ten-foot pole. I usually land, unload, and take off again.”

  “Where’s home base?” Steve asked.

“A small island off Australia. Allows me to get in and out for supplies and passengers, yet allows me privacy.” He shook his head. “I’m in no better shape with women than you guys.”

“And we get stuck with a straight-laced newlywed, whose parents and husband would more than likely rip off our balls if we so much as looked at their little girl,” Toby said.

Jack shook his head. “Yeah, isn’t that the pits? We need to remember she isn’t much more than a girl.”

“She’s twenty-two, and even though we know from the letter that she’s not married, she’s obviously not aware of it.” Steve said. “At least we wouldn’t be doing anything illegal.”

Jack stood and stretched. “Even so, I suggest we get these thoughts out of our heads and go back to work. I don’t think she’d appreciate knowing what we’re talking about.”

“Do you think—” Steve’s thoughts were stopped by a screech from the plane. All three men sprinted to the plane and ran up the stairs, guns drawn.

“Emma, what happened?” Jack yelled, barging through the door, Toby and Steve on his heels. It took a moment for their eyes to adjust to the dim interior.

Emma stood over a box, hand to her mouth, eyes wide. “I was emptying some of these boxes and found…found…”

Toby stepped forward. “Found what? A snake? A rat?”

Emma shuddered and shoved a box at him with her foot. “No. These things.”

Toby peered in the box, took out a smaller one and passed it to Jack.

After a moment, Jack burst out laughing. Condoms. Condoms for the missionaries. He slid to the floor holding his sides, wiping at the tears running down his face.

“This isn’t funny, Jack,” Emma said, her face red. “How could you have those disgusting things?”

Jack passed the box to Steve and raised his hands to ward her off. “Hey, they aren’t mine. I only load the supplies and deliver them. I don’t check to see what’s in the boxes.”

“Guess those missionaries are doing more than saving souls,” Toby said, setting the box on the shelf. “How many are there?” he asked.

Toby’s straight face set Jack off again. “Damn, can’t you see the humor in this?” he asked Toby and Steve. He swiped at the tears on his face, glad to hear his friends’ laughter. “How many are there, Emma-girl?”

“Lots,” Emma said stomping toward the door. “You guys are horrible,” she threw over her shoulder as she left the plane.

Jack peered into the large box containing at least a hundred smaller boxes. “Think this is a sign?”

Toby opened one of the boxes and pulled out a packaged condom. “I certainly hope so.”

  Chapter Eight

By the end of the third week their lives had taken on
a routine. They spent mornings cleaning up their home, eating breakfast, and making any necessary repairs. Emma made up a calendar to keep track of their days on the island and to set up a schedule of sorts.

They did laundry, hauling water from the lake and heating it on their stove. Using bars of soap, they slapped the clothing against rocks to get them clean. The wet clothes were spread on bushes and hung from tree branches. Work continued on the bamboo pipeline from the lake to their campsite. Even though they deemed the water usable, they boiled and used the sanitizing tablets for several days’ worth of drinking water.

Other days, after eating breakfast and packing something to eat, they searched their side of the island for any signs of life. One day they hiked to the top of the mountains surrounding the lake. All they saw were more trees and dense, humid jungle. The island was larger than they thought, and until they knew they could survive on their side, it was decided to wait to search the rest of the island.

They split into pairs and hunted or fished. If they were successful, fish would be their supper. It took several tries, but eventually Jack rigged up an oven, and any extra fish were smoked for later use. Toby caught a small pig, nearly losing his life when the mother charged at him. Emma hid in the plane, her hands over her ears as the men killed, gutted, and cooked the meat. She would eat the pork but swore not to take part in the process of butchering it.

The other days were spent either cleaning, making tools, hunting or fishing, searching for a way off the island, or lounging. Every night after supper they hiked up to the lake to swim and wash. Each night, Emma went back to the plane first, got ready for bed, and settled into her little nook surrounded by blankets for privacy, not knowing nor caring what the men did after she left.

And every day Emma’s presence made the men more aware of her sexuality.

Having decided they wouldn’t do anything to harm Emma, and knowing they couldn’t sleep outside because of wild pigs, they decided to take their increasing horniness into their own hands before returning to the confines of the plane and Emma.

One day during their hike around the lake, Toby and Steve found an indentation in the rock formation about the size of a four person hot tub. Water trickled down the side of the mountain into the hole. They discovered the water was warm, almost hot to the touch. The sun’s heat beat on the tub during the day. Each night, after Emma was settled, they soaked in the water, talked, smoked their cigars, and occasionally indulged in the fine brandy.

“Did you bring the letter, Jack?” Toby asked one night.

Jack reached around, opened his backpack and pulled out a sheet of paper. “I think it’s time we show it to her. It may make a difference in how she feels about us.”

“But what if she’s in love with her husband? Finding out she’s not actually married to him could tear her apart.” Steve said. “How would we deal with that?

Toby took the letter from Jack and looked it over. “I can’t see her being so pissed off at him that she’d jump into our arms.”

“One thing’s for sure, I don’t know much more I can take of seeing Emma in those tank tops, prancing around without a bra.” Steve slid down until the water reached his neck.

“She doesn’t prance,” Jack said, setting his cigar on a rock next to the pool before stepping into the water. “Hell, I believe she doesn’t even realize what she’s doing. Besides, it’s our fault she doesn’t have a bra to wear.”

“Even worse,” Toby said, sighing as he eased his body into the hot water. “If she did it on purpose we’d have an inclination she wanted us.”

Steve slid over to make room for his friend. “Yeah, if the other woman survived, we would probably be getting some every night.”

“No, we’d probably be dead,” Jack commented. “She’d have killed us to protect the contraband and money.”

Toby rested his arms on the back of the pool. “Yeah, you’re probably right. What are we going to do about Emma?”

Toby stuck his hand in his shorts to adjust his hard-on. “Well, I for one am getting sick and tired of sneaking up here to beat off so I can drop off to sleep. This was a good idea to relieve ourselves so we wouldn’t be tempted by Emma at night, but using my hand isn’t the same anymore,” he complained, holding out his right hand.

“Try using the other one for a while—for variety,” Steve joked.

“Ha, ha. Seriously, though, we need to think of something.”

“How about if I approach her with the subject?” Jack suggested.

“And say what? Three horny guys want to jump her bones?” Toby asked.

“Yeah, what woman would agree to have sex with three men?” Steve agreed.

Jack sucked on his cigar and blew out a circle of smoke. “Even though she’s married, she seems naïve about men. Makes me wonder about her husband.”

“Yeah,” Toby said. “If I had been her husband for a week, she wouldn’t have been able to walk to the plane, let alone leave the bedroom.”

Steve took a sip of his brandy. “The other day I got a real boner watching her bend over. Hell, my prick stuck out the top of my shorts. She turned around to say something to me and didn’t even notice. You’d think a married woman would notice.”

“I’m not so sure she’s as unaffected as she acts,” Toby said. “Sometimes I see her looking at us in a way that makes me wonder. When I catch her at it, she blushes and rushes off.”

Jack grinned. “Hell, what woman wouldn’t be affected by such fine manly specimens as us?”

They sat in silence for a while, puffing on their cigars, lost in their own thoughts of having sex with Emma.

“How about this,” Toby said, sitting upright, pointing his cigar at the others. “We explain to her about our needs and let her decide what to do.”

Jack threw back his head and laughed. “Oh, right, Toby. Like we’re going to say to Emma, ‘Oh gee, sweetie, we’re horny, and we would like to fuck you. So what do you think, can we? Huh? Can we?’ She’ll simply bat her long eyelashes at us and say, ‘Of course, let me lie down right here and spread my legs for you.’ In your dreams, buddy.”

“Keep talking, Jack, and I won’t need to use my hand tonight,” Steve mumbled. “I’ll come from thinking about what she said. I mean you said.”

“What if she does agree? There’s plenty of logistics to consider,” Jack continued. “I mean, who goes first? Are we all with her at the same time? Where do we do it? How does this affect sleeping arrangements? Does she get one of us each night? What if she gets pregnant?”

“Been thinking about this a little, Jack?” Steve asked, laughing when Jack raised an eyebrow. “Don’t forget all those condoms sitting in their boxes begging to be used.”

Toby grinned. “They’re not begging to be used; we’re begging to use them. There’s a big difference.”

Only the sounds of water trickling down the mountains could be heard as the men contemplated their dilemma.

Toby was the first to speak up. “Let’s say she agrees to a plan involving all of us.”

“Why don’t you say she agrees to let us fuck her?” Steve said.

“Because,” Jack said, pausing for a sip of brandy, “we all care enough about her to call this something other than fucking. In order to keep things under control and make the experience pleasurable for Emma, we need to think of it as making love to her. After all, we want to do this more than once, don’t we?”

Jack closed his eyes before continuing. “She wasn’t married long enough to be accustomed to a man, so she’s practically a virgin for crying out loud. So get the idea of fucking her out of your head.”

“You’re right. I do care about her, a lot,” Steve agreed, dropping his chin to his chest.

“So back to my idea of making love to Emma,” Toby said, looking pointedly at Steve. “Even though we have all those condoms, we need to be extra careful she doesn’t get pregnant. I saw her come out of the latrine today, hiding something in her hand, and did you notice she didn’t g
o all the way into the water tonight? It’s safe to assume she has her period. I’ll come up with a plan to make sure she’s safe.”

Steve puffed on his cigar, making the end glow. “I’m glad you’re a doctor and understand all these women things. But like Jack said before, there’s logistics to take care of.”

“Toby, Steve,” Jack said looking at both men. “You seem to forget Emma doesn’t even know what we’re thinking. Here’s an idea that you might like, and if you’re agreeable to it, I can approach Emma tomorrow. That’ll give her what, five days, to think it over before her period ends.”

“I think we need to show her the letter first,” Steve said. “After all, she believes she’s married and probably won’t want to break her vows.”

Jack ran a hand over his face. “You’re right, Steve. With her straight-laced ideas, she’d never go for this without a reason—even for three horny men.”

“Do you think what her asshole husband wrote in the letter will help her make a decision in our favor?” Toby asked, a frown marring his brow.

Steve adjusted his shorts. “As long as she agrees because she wants to and not because she’s angry with him.”

Jack nodded. “Hell, just as long as she agrees.”

Jack outlined his ideas and Toby and Steve’s grins grew bigger and bigger and their cocks harder and harder.

“I propose a toast.” He raised his cup of brandy. “To Emma, who we all hope that once she finds out she’s free, she’ll accept us into her body. All for one,” Jack said.

“And one for all,” they finished together.

  Chapter Nine

The next day, Emma sensed a difference in the men. They seemed content, yet anxious, and kept giving her sideways glances. Breakfast, which was a time when the men usually discussed the day’s work, was unusually quiet. The furtive glances they gave each other made her nervous and curious.

She couldn’t deny the beginnings of feelings for them. She’d look at Jack’s muscles as he worked on the pipeline, and her legs would go weak and her heart race. Watching the water sluice down their bodies after their nightly swim at the lake made her mouth go dry and her brain turn to mush. An unfamiliar desire to run her tongue down their chests and follow the line of hair into their shorts had her rushing back to the campsite before she gave into the urge.
