Shifters, Beasts, and Monsters

The girl stirred. Her soft golden hair fell away from her face and she opened her yellow eyes slowly. That was the only feature that had remained constant when the wolves changed. Apart from the eyes they could pass for human, but there was no mistaking the predators that stared calmly out from those piercing yellow eyes.
Aylen tensed. She’d felt a truce had been declared in the clearing. A silent deal had been struck. She’d rescued the runt from her brothers and carried her to safety, and for that she’d earned a reprieve, at least for a moment. Now, though, after the wolf had slept, Aylen had no idea how she would act. She didn’t know if the wakening wolf was friend or foe. She reached down and gripped her heavy flashlight, as if that would be any help if the wolf pounced.
‘Tha... thank you,’ whispered the wolf, clumsily stumbling over the words.
Aylen was shocked. ‘You can talk?’
‘I can... say. Learn from mother.’
The words came out slowly, weakly. The thought occurred to Aylen that the girl’s voice sounded like that of a human trying to bark. The throat and vocal cords aren’t designed for it, and the sound comes out like a dim echo of the real thing. The girl’s words were a timorous whisper.
‘My name is Aylen. What’s your name?’
‘No name. No words. We...’ The girl raised her nose as if to sniff the air.
‘You identify each other by scent?’
The girl shook her head, confused.
‘I mean,’ Aylen rephrased the question, ‘you can smell your mother, your brothers?’
‘Yes. No name. I know pack. I smell... brothers.’ She almost snarled as she spat the words.
Aylen nodded. She feared she wouldn’t get any real answers from the girl. She spoke like a child, stumbling over basic words and frowning with concentration as she spoke. In her eyes, though, was a flash of something. This was a girl who had stayed alive as the runt of the litter, manipulating the emotions of her pack to survive when she should have died, starving in the snow before the end of her first winter. Her speech may be limited, but there was a sharp intelligence behind those beautiful, intense yellow eyes.
‘I need you to help me understand. I need to know who you are. What you are. Do you understand what I’m asking?’
The girl nodded. ‘You scared, I know. I smell you. No scared of me. I won’t hurt.’ At this, the wolf girl smiled and wrapped her arm tight around Aylen. ‘You save me. You kiss me, make me feel nice here.’ The girl slid her fingers between her legs and smiled. ‘We friends.’
Aylen smiled warmly. ‘Good. I’d like to be your friend. Can you tell me more about your pack? I’d like to understand why you’re different from other wolves.’
The girl frowned and shook her head. ‘Not now. Not... not think well. Too close to wolf. Too soon.’ She shifted her legs and flinched with pain.
‘Are you okay?’ Aylen pulled back the foil survival blanket, and pitied the creature even more. The male had shown her no mercy as he mated with her. Her shoulders were livid with purple bruises where he’d pinned her to the ground, and her thighs were covered in deep scratches where he’d thrust into her. He’d pounced before he’d become fully human, and his coarse fur must have felt like needles digging into her skin.
Aylen turned to the emergency supply box, searching for something to treat the girl’s wounds, but the box was worse than useless. Apart from the survival blanket the box contained just a couple of energy bars, a gallon of water and a basic Lifesystems mountain first aid kit that lacked even the usual antiseptic wipes.
Beside her the wolf girl winced again, and Aylen noticed she’d clamped her hand firmly between her legs. Aylen gently pulled it away and saw that the girl was red raw. Her thighs had been scratched, but where the brutish male had entered her his sharp fur had really done some damage. A few thick, dark hairs were still stuck like needles in her skin, and the run from the clearing to the high hide had done nothing to soothe her.
At the bottom of the supply box Aylen found a pair of tweezers and a tube of burn gel. Not perfect, but it’ll have to do, she thought. She pulled off her thick parka, folded it into a pillow and eased the girl down onto it. ‘Lie still, little one,’ she said. ‘I have to get these out of you.’
The girl whimpered quietly as Aylen lay between her legs and began to pluck out the hairs with the tweezers. With each tug she flinched, choking back tears, and Aylen lay a hand on her stomach, soothing her with gentle strokes of her belly. The girl relaxed, and by the time she’d tugged out the final barbed hair she was quiet.
The tube of burn gel was almost frozen. Aylen told herself that if she survived the night she’d track down the idiot who thought it was a good idea to mount the supply box on the underside of the high hide, exposed to the elements. The cap wouldn’t turn. Aylen had to pierce the tube with the sharp tip of the tweezers and the tube burst, sending a stream of ice cold gel gushing onto the wolf girl’s stomach. She flinched as the gel hit her, and Aylen had to pin her to the ground to stop her bolting. The young woman panted in shock, her eyes darting around the room, instinctively looking for a way out.
‘It’s okay, little one, it’s okay. Hold still, please. This will make you feel better.’ She reached up to stroke the girl’s hair, calming her. She met her eyes and held her gaze as she scooped the cold gel from her stomach and onto her thighs. The girl flinched again, but it only took a few moments for the gel to warm as Aylen massaged it into her legs.
Almost immediately the Lidocaine in the gel began to take effect. The wolf girl’s whimpers died down further, and the pained expression left her face. Aylen could see the relief wash over her and she felt her large, tight muscles relax under her hands.
Aylen took another scoop from the gel on the girl’s stomach and slid it down between her legs. The lips of her pussy looked sore and scratched, and the girl sighed as she felt the cooling gel drip onto her. Aylen, still gripping the girl’s stomach, felt her heart rate quicken through the palm of her hand. As she massaged the gel gently around the wolf girl’s puffy labia she saw her skin darken as blood rushed to her lips. The girl’s breaths became shallow, almost purring, and she gently gripped Aylen’s arm.
Under her stroking fingers Aylen felt the heat of the wolf girl’s pussy. The soothing gel she rubbed into her lips quickly evaporated in the cold air, but she could feel the girl’s own juices lubricating her as she stroked. Along her slim, lithe body Aylen saw the girl’s six nipples harden. The nubs on each breast stiffened and puckered the pink skin surrounding them, while the fainter nipples the ran along her torso flushed red, lifting into small mounds.
The girl began to pant as Aylen moved her fingers up to her clit. With two fingers she tenderly spread the fold of skin covering it, and as she slid her free hand down between her leg she felt the soft, pink mound stiffen and grow with her touch.
The air in the high hide was suddenly warm and close, and Aylen felt heat radiating from the wolf’s body. She shrugged off the blanket and lay down between the girl’s legs, resting her head on her stomach as she massaged her clit. She smiled as the girl’s short, ragged breaths shook her, and she used the sounds of her gasps as a guide to lead her fingers to the girl’s most sensitive areas.
Aylen’s tongue found the girl’s lowest nipple, a tiny pink pebble nestled beside her navel, and she felt the girl arch her back beneath her as she took it into her mouth. She gently sucked at the tight little nub, feeling herself become more aroused by the moment as her tongue flicked over it. The girl moaned with pleasure, trying to slide her pussy down onto Aylen’s fingers, and she felt a hand on the back of her head pushing her down towards the hot, wet cunt.
Heat bloomed from the wolf girl’s pussy. Aylen was shocked at the way it had swollen beneath her fingers, much more than with any other girl she’d been with. The girl’s labia were bright pink and glistening. Aylen dipped her tongue between the lips with relish. She tasted incredible: musky and sweet at the same time. Aylen was surprised at her own arousal, and
wondered for a moment if she was being influenced by her canine pheromones. Despite the horror of the last few hours she couldn’t think about anything but pleasing the girl.
Aylen heard a low growl and she lapped at the pussy, and she looked up to see the wolf girl’s body shift. Her arousal seemed to have caused her to lose control, and as she bucked and writhed under Aylen’s tongue she seemed to struggle to remain in human form. Her fingers became claws, and Aylen backed away as one of them tore into the wall of the hide, tearing a deep gouge into the aluminum wall.
‘Pleeease, don’t stoooop,’ the girl growled. In her open mouth Aylen could see fangs growing and shrinking as she battled to control her body. Her claws gripped the back of Aylen’s head, pulling her back towards the girl’s pussy, but where Aylen expected to feel pain she felt only the soft pads of her paws once more becoming fingers.
Aylen pulled away from the hands, quickly pivoting on strong legs to twist over the wolf girl. She swung her leg over the girl’s head and sat on her face before burying her tongue back between her legs. Aylen thrust her hips forward, begging for the lapping tongue of the wolf girl, and when she felt it she almost came right away. The rough, hot tongue ran the length of her pussy, lapping at her in long, strong strokes. The girl wasn’t skilled by any means, but her large, flat tongue felt incredible. What she lacked in experience she more than made up in enthusiasm, and Aylen soon found her own juices running down her legs. With every hot, panting breath against her slick clit she shuddered with pleasure.
The girl’s moans of ecstasy echoed in the aluminum room, the sound amplified and punctuated by low growls as Aylen’s tongue teased the hard, wet mound of her clitoris. Aylen reached around her ass, cupped the girl’s firm, tensed buttocks, dug her fingernails into the flesh and pulled the girl further into her mouth. She panted hot, gasping breaths into the girl, and a sheen of sweat formed on her forehead as hot blood rushed through her body. Underneath her she felt the girl’s tongue lap at her stomach, along her pussy and back to her navel, and with a final long, wet stroke she felt herself cum into the girl’s waiting mouth. She buried her face deep into her pussy to muffle her groans, and she felt the girl’s mouth hungrily suck at her juices, lapping up everything she had to offer. It was pure bliss.
Suddenly the body beneath her tensed. As waves of ecstasy crested and broke within her body she felt the girl twist beneath her with alarming strength, pushing her to the side, straddling and mounting her. She only realized this wasn’t part of the game when she saw the fear in the girl’s eyes. A strong hand clamped over her mouth, muffling Aylen’s orgasmic panting.
‘Danger! Quiet!’ she whispered harshly. Aylen nodded, her eyes wide with fear.
The girl sprang silently to her feet, stalking to the hatch leading to the ground ten meters beneath them. She lifted the aluminum hatch, wincing as the hinges squeaked, and held her ear at the narrow opening. Aylen could hear nothing but the wind, but the girl shifted her head in small, jerky movements as if trying to locate the source of a sound. After a few seconds she gently lowered the hatch, bolting it after her, and turned to Aylen. She placed a finger over her lips, and beckoned her over to the window.
Aylen crept to the observation window and knelt on the padded bench beneath it. Just a few hours ago she’d sat here with Emily, watching the wolf pack through the binoculars that still hung from a hook beside the window. Now Emily was gone, possibly dead, and she peered fearfully through the window at the ground below, watching for movement and terrified of what would step from the trees.
And then she saw them.
Two men appeared below the window, walking quickly downhill and following the treeline. One was tall, the other short, and both were naked and muscular. Even from this angle she noticed that they didn’t walk like humans. They looked uncertain on two legs, off balance and clumsy. Their arms swung strangely out of sync with their steps. If anything they looked weak and helpless, despite the rippling muscles that slid beneath their glistening skin. They looked as if they could be bea –
A deer suddenly darted from the treeline. Instantly the lead wolf leaped, his powerful legs springing him through the air. The enormous jump barreled him into the side of the creature, taking it down with the first blow. The deer scrambled onto its front legs, desperately fighting to escape, but before it had the chance to take a single step the wolf wrapped his hands around the head and twisted, snapping its neck with ease.
Aylen fell backwards in shock, reaching out instinctively to steady herself. Her fingers caught the binocular strap, and she watched in horror as it slid from the hook and fell towards the aluminum floor. The binoculars seemed to fall in slow motion, and Aylen had time to imagine what would happen next. The noise would echo around the mountainside. The wolves would raise their heads quickly from their still-warm meal. They’d prowl to the bottom of the ladder, slowly, carefully. They’d be in no rush. They’d know they had their prey surrounded. They could kill her slowly.
The girl’s leg sprang out from beneath her, and her foot kicked out at the binoculars. With the lightest touch she guided them away from the aluminum floor and onto the cushioned bench, where they landed without a sound. She turned to Aylen and raised her finger to her lips. Shhhhhh.
Out the window the men stood from their prize and continued to walk. They hadn’t been hungry. They’d killed for sport. Aylen heard their laughter as they turned to leave, and steam rose from the cooling body of the deer.
She turned to the wolf girl. ‘Why couldn’t they smell us?’
‘Wrong body,’ she replied, still staring after them. ‘When they wolf, better smell, better sound. When they human, better see... More cruel.’
‘More cruel?’
‘Yes. Wolf kill for food, for pack.’ She looked sadly at the deer. ‘Human kill for fun.’
There was something new about the girl, and it took a moment for Aylen to figure out what it was.
‘Your eyes. They’re not yellow any more.’ The wolf’s eyes had turned ice blue, and for the first time she looked truly human.
‘Yes. I changed full now. I think more clear. No more wolf.’ She sat on the bench beneath the window. ‘Now I tell who we are. Tell who you are now. Make plan to save you friend.’
Aylen felt a pang of guilt as she thought of Emily. She should have tried to save her, but her fear had been too great. She looked at the ground, unwilling to meet the girl’s piercing eyes. A thought struck her. Who you are? What did she mean by that?
‘We old pack. Long time old. Mother tell me story. We not many now. Too many human for us.’ She stopped, trying to find the right words. ‘We mixers. Not wolf. Not human. Mix. We stay wolf for long time. Change when mountain ready for more. We change to make more.’
Aylen looked up at her sharply, realizing what this could mean. ‘I mated with the pack. Are you saying that I might be pregnant with a werewolf baby?’ She knew how crazy this sounded out loud, and it was all she could do not to laugh.
The girl shook her head. ‘No, you no carry. We no have young with human. No, you turn to us. You one of us now.’
Aylen reeled. ‘Are you fucking kidding me? You’re saying I’m a fucking werewolf?’
The girl looked confused, upset. ‘Please. I say bad. We must find mother. She say good. Okay? We go now. Is safe now.’
Without waiting for an answer the girl sprang from the bench, strode across the room and lifted the hatch in the floor. She dropped straight through, falling easily to the ground far below. Aylen took one last look out of the window, saw the male wolves far down the mountainside, picked the heavy flashlight from the floor and followed the girl through the hatch.
It was time to get some answers...
Emily
Emily opened her eyes. A slow, steady drip of cold water was hitting her stomach, and in the darkness all she could see was the moonlight catching each drop as it fell. She felt cold, hard rock beneath her, and realized immediately that she was in a cave.
She’d d
reamed... no, that wasn’t a dream. Too vivid for a dream. A wolf had mounted her. Its smell had overwhelmed her senses, reaching beyond simple scent and deep into her hind brain. She’d drifted in and out of consciousness as it had thrust into her, and she’d been dimly aware of the pack watching from the darkness. It had hurt. Damn, it hurt. She’d been shocked by the way the wolf’s penis seemed to swell inside her, filling every inch of her.
It had been a good pain, though. She couldn’t explain why, but she wanted it to happen. When she felt the wolf change above her she’d been... words weren’t enough to describe it. Overjoyed? A small, sane part of her mind told her that what was happening was horrific, but it had been quickly overruled by the rest of her. She needed him. Whatever this creature was that had violated her so roughly, she welcomed it. Even now, lying alone in the cave, she felt incomplete without his presence.
Once again the small, rational part of her mind yelled out to her. You’re under his influence! Emily, run! On your feet, soldier! It’s a werewolf! She couldn’t bring herself to care. Whatever caused the power the man held over her it was delicious and irresistible, and when she heard a sound at the mouth of the cave she was filled with joy and gratitude. He’d returned to her. Emily raised her head and saw him framed against the moonlight, and a thrill of anticipation ran through her. He was perfect. Tall. Muscular. Powerful. He was everything she wanted and needed, and her whole body ached for him.
The man walked silently through the cave, confidently, as if he could see every inch of the darkness. He paused beside her, and Emily could see steam rise from his body, his sweat evaporating from his naked skin in the cold air. His long, dark hair was covered in a fine dusting of snow that glittered in the moonlight.
