Second Chance (A Secret Baby Romance Novel)

From everything I’d heard, any time he wasn’t in uniform was spent with the Kansas City youth, trying to make a difference in as many lives as possible.
There he was, sitting in my living room, looking as comfortable and relaxed as ever.
He looked like he belonged there even though I knew he didn’t. He also looked sexy as hell. He was calm and content, which was a very good look for him.
He shifted on the couch, trying to get comfortable while he turned the magazine pages. Eventually, he found comfort by crossing one of his legs over the top of the other. I remembered those legs.
He had tremendously strong legs. They were strong enough to hold my body in place while he pumped himself relentlessly in and out of me.
Those legs had nudged mine apart many times.
I swallowed hard as though I was trying to demolish the memory straight down my throat. My heart was beating out of my chest, and I wasn’t even in the same room with Chance yet.
The best thing for me to do was to go into the living room and send him home. The faster I got him out of the house, the better it was going to be for me because I doubted I’d be able to handle anything like what happened that morning.
I don’t know if it was just intuition or if I was breathing more loudly than I realized, but something gave me away, and he looked up over the magazine, locking eyes with me. I instantly felt heat between my legs.
The look he was giving me was a normal look that you shared with someone. This look told me that he wanted to throw me on the bed and pound me until I couldn’t take anymore. The thought of that wasn’t helping my situation very much.
Blinking my eyes together tightly, I’d hoped that I’d be able to open them and realize that I only saw things that didn’t exist. I hoped that when I looked again, he’d have a normal look in his eyes. I knew better, but there was always hope.
When I looked at him again, his fiery blue eyes pierced my body with desire. Every single aspect about his eyes said that he lusted after my body and that he wanted me.
I gulped. I wanted him too.
He was very blatant about it like he wanted me to know exactly what was on his mind, even if he didn’t say the words to me out loud. I knew right then and there that he was trouble, and I needed to send him packing as quickly as I could.
He stood up off the couch as I made my last few steps out of the hall and into the living room.
“He’s out cold. I doubt I’ll see him again until the morning. He tries to act big and bad, but he’s still just a kid. Just a baby who’s only ten years old. You must have worn him out,” I said, trying to sound nonchalant. “Thanks for taking him to dinner with you tonight and making sure he got home safe. It was nice having a little alone time.”
He started to say something, but I cut him off.
“I know your day’s been busy as well. I’m tired myself so I know we both need some rest. I’ll go ahead and walk you out and talk to you tomorrow. Besides, you could have gone already. You didn’t have to wait around to wait for me to get him to bed.”
“Sure I did.”
I stared at him. This was exactly the kind of thing I was afraid of.
“Why?
“This was kind of a big deal tonight. I wanted to tell you that it was one of the best nights of my life. For the first time ever, I got to have dinner with my son,” he shuffled his foot, looking down at the ground for a moment. “I know that might not sound like a big deal to you because you’ve eaten every day with him for his entire life, but it made my night.”
What happened that night really was a big deal. Of course I wanted to know how things went. I actually meant to ask when he got there, but I got so immersed in the idea of getting him out of the house that I had completely forgotten.
“Of course I want to know how it went. How did he react to your family? I know they’re quite the characters.”
He looked around the house, focused on the area towards CJ’s room. “Why don’t we go somewhere to talk privately? I don’t want him to wake up and overhear us.”
There was literally no chance of CJ waking up. I’d seen him tired like that before, and when he’s out, there’s no waking him up until he’s ready.
I also knew that when Chance had his mind set on something, there wasn’t going to be any talking him out of it.
Initially, I thought about the two of us going into the kitchen to talk. It was at the complete other side of the house, and we’d hear CJ coming out of his room long before he made it to us.
I changed my mind when I remembered what took place in the kitchen that very morning. To avoid any temptation, going outside was going to be our best bet.
“Okay, let’s go out to the front porch,” I said, walking right past him, not bothering to wait for his reply.
The evening air was surprisingly cool. It had a crisp smell that I have always enjoyed. The moon was hanging low, and the sky was so clear that I felt like I could see every star in the sky.
Not wanting to be standing in a dark spot on the porch, I stood by the railings, allowing the light glow of the moon to illuminate us.
I was staring at the moon, listening to him as he walked out onto the porch. I was expecting him to join me, but he walked over to the porch swing, taking a seat in the darkest corner of the porch.
I’m sure he was waiting for me to come sit next to him, but I wasn’t taking the bait. Nope, I was just fine where I was, and we were plenty close enough to carry on a conversation.
“Was CJ good for you tonight?”
“Yeah, he was very good. He actually caught me by surprise. I never thought he would have had it in him. His manners were on point, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t because he was with me. He was busy drooling over Jeremy all night.”
“I could imagine why it would be excited for a young boy to meet a famous motorcycle racer.”
“He actually attempted to ignore me altogether, but my brother figured that out quickly and wouldn’t allow it. He found out tonight that the Sparks family sticks together.”
“That doesn’t surprise me,” I told him, knowing how he and his brothers are when they get together.
“I tried to talk to CJ about you, but he wouldn’t have any of it.”
“You did? I bet he loved that.”
“He definitely had plenty of choice words to say about it,” Chance smiled. “I was impressed by how protective he is of you. You’ve obviously done a very good job as a mother. That boy loves you, you know.”
I was pretty surprised that he would speak up so freely against Chance. I hoped everything was going to be nothing more than a phase he was going through.
I still had hope that he would realize what an important time he was living in his life, but I knew he needed to make his own decisions. There was no way I was going to do anything to make the decision any harder on my son than it had to be.
“I tried to bring up the two of us to him, but that’s when he completely shut down. He didn’t like that one bit.”
“If you planted the seeds in his head, I’m sure he’ll have plenty to say to me about it tomorrow.”
“I’m sure he will. The question is: what are you going to say to him in response?”
“What can I say? You and I have an agreement about how we’re going to handle things. I’ll just tell him that he’s the one that has this big problem with you. That problem doesn’t have anything to do with me. I’ll let him know that he doesn’t have to like you for me to date you if that’s what I choose to do.”
I waited for him to reply, but he was staring at me, lost in thought. I wondered what he was thinking about, but I wasn’t about to ask him, afraid of what his answer might be.
“I think we should call it a night unless there is something else that happened that you need to tell me about.”
I could tell that hearing me talk again had snapped him out of whatever was going through his mind. He smirked to himself, so whatever it was must have been good.

; “Oh, that’s all that happened, but that doesn’t mean we have to end the night so early. Why don’t you come swing with me for a little while?”
“I don’t think so, Chance. I don’t think that would be a very good idea.”
“What? Don’t be ridiculous. Look at the sky. It’s a gorgeous night. No reason we can’t enjoy it before saying goodnight.”
I’m sure the night was what he wanted to enjoy. I could hear in his voice that the only thing he wanted to enjoy was my body touching his.
I knew for a fact that I wouldn’t be able to resist him if I sat down in that swing. The way my body was reacting to him, it would have only taken one touch, and I would have melted like putty in his hands.
“Latrice, I can still read you like a book, you know.”
I lifted my chin, surprised he had been so direct.
“What?”
“I know that you can still feel it between us. The tension, the desire, the pure want and need to be together.”
I couldn’t answer him.
“I can tell by how tightly you’re crossing your legs right now.”
I looked down and realized how right he was. Not only were my legs crossed, but I also don't think I could have crossed them any tighter than I had them. Chance leaned forward, his face visible in the moonlight.
The look in his eyes drew me to him as though he were a magnet. Before I realized I was moving, I was already slowly making my way across the porch. I had moved out of the moonlight and into the darkness.
As soon as I was close enough, Chance leaned forward and pulled me close to his body. His warm breath gently brushed my ear as his hand cupped my neck while he softly planted kisses on my cheek.
I could feel my entire body melting as his kisses trailed down to my neck and his teeth lightly pricked my skin, sucking the length of my throat. My breath caught momentarily as my body froze to his touch.
Chance’s warm, masculine hands cupped my breasts through my shirt and squeezed them slightly, displacing my underwire bra. His lips traveled to the top button of my blouse and continued down my breasts with each button that he undid.
His hands continued to spread down the length of my body, traveling down my torso. Unable to move, I stood in a trancelike state, letting him do whatever he pleased with me.
My breath caught again as I felt his fingertips lightly skimming the inner part of my thigh. I worried about falling into a heap as my knees were quickly trying to give out on me.
“I discovered this morning that your mouth was just as familiar as ever,” he said with a voice as deep and sexy as ever. “Now I need to know if this is the same way.”
Boldly, he moved his hand quickly up my thigh and straight to the crotch of my panties. His touch caught me off guard and caused my eyes to flutter. I had to reach out and grab onto his big, muscular shoulders to support myself. I wanted to scream out in pleasure.
He was the last man who had touched me there.
As far as me and my body were concerned, that was still very much his territory, but I wasn’t able to do that. At that very moment, I wasn’t capable of uttering a single syllable.
All I could do was stand there and be completely at his mercy. My only hope was that my body would be able to handle it.
Chance didn’t keep me waiting long. The fingertips that had been running up and down my thighs were now being stroked over the center of my panties.
“I can’t believe how hot you are. I want you to sit on my lap like you used to. Sit down, facing me.”
I was in no position to argue. Hell, I didn’t even feel like I was there anymore. It felt more like an out of body experience than anything else.
As he slid down onto the seat, I climbed up onto his lap, bringing our faces just inches from one another. His hand was still between my legs when he leaned forward and kissed me so deeply, it made the kiss from earlier seem like a peck.
My senses were heightened, and I was becoming extremely aroused. The feeling of his hand stroking my long neglected areas wasn’t helping matters. Slowly but surely, I could feel him pull my panties to the side, leading me to moan at the feeling of being touched for the first time in years.
“That’s what I like to hear,” Chance said, proud that he’d gotten the reaction he’d been hoping for. “Go ahead and open your legs for me a little more.”
The next thing I knew, Chance slid three fingers inside of my dripping wet hole. That was much too tight of a fit, so he slid one out and went with two.
“Damn, I forgot how tight you were, baby,” he whispered into my ear as he started sliding his fingers in and out of me.
The feeling of his fingers penetrating me was driving me wild. “Oh my God, Chance. It feels so good. You have no idea how long it’s been,” I whispered back to him.

Chance
“How long has it been, Latrice?”
I wasn’t completely sure whether or not I wanted to know the answer to the question, but I was making her come unhinged so easily, curiosity was getting the best of me.
“It was with you, Chance. My last time was with you.”
My body froze, and my fingers went still inside of her. I could feel my jaw getting tight as our eyes looked into one another’s.
“Since me? You mean you haven’t done anything with anyone since that last time you and I were together?”
She didn’t answer me. She leaned in and kissed me, catching me by surprise as I’d been the aggressor so far. Just thinking about the fact that I’d been the only man that had ever touched her sent my mind racing.
It made my entire body start to shake. I don’t know why she hadn’t been with anyone else, but I intended to make her wait more than worth it.
I started to move my fingers in and out of her once again, her muscles automatically clenching around them. She was so tight and as wet as she could possibly be.
The scent of her arousal filled the air and was beginning to drive me wild. I broke away from her kiss. As good as her mouth had tasted, I needed to taste the rest of her.
“Take off your shirt,” I ordered her. “I want you. All of you. Now.”
It had been too long since we had been together. If I had to—if we had to—wait another second, it was a second too long.
Latrice removed her hands from my shoulders and quickly pulled her shirt over her head, and unclasped her bra that was barely cupping her sensuous breasts.
Her breasts poured out in front of me, her nipples hard and inviting. I leaned in and started sucking, biting and nibbling on them in rhythm with the way my fingers were moving inside her.
Her breathing was starting to get heavy, and I could tell she was getting close. When her body began to shake, I leaned in and placed my mouth over hers, absorbing her moans and screams as the spasms of orgasm took over her body.
She tore into my shoulders with her fingernails, and I loved every bit of it. As soon as the orgasm ended, I curled my fingers and brought on orgasm number two.
She buried her head into my shirt to muffle loud cries of pleasure. Her whole body was shaking, and she was bucking her hips as though she was trying to ride a bull.
Her breath caught as she was tried to do everything she could to just breathe. I knew she’d been trying to avoid it, but I told her that it couldn’t be avoided.
I always get what I want.
Chapter Eight
Latrice
“Mom? Mom? What are you doing?”
I could hear the voice, but was so out of it, I figured I imagined it.
“Oh my God, mom! Answer me, mom!
My eyes popped opened instantly, my mind finally registering the stress coming through in my son’s voice. I blinked hard, trying to figure out where I was and what was happening.
I rubbed my eyes and squinted so I could focus on him.
“CJ? What is it, son? Why are you not in bed?”
His face twisted into a look of confusion.
“What are you talking about
mom? I’m not supposed to be in bed. It’s daytime, and I’m running late for school since you didn’t bother to wake me up this morning. Speaking of waking up, why the heck are you sleeping on the couch anyway? And why are you still in the clothes you were wearing last night?”
I flung my feet over the side of the sofa and willed myself to sit up. I was exhausted and had a hard time putting myself upright. I couldn’t believe that it was already morning. I didn’t even remember coming inside and going to sleep.
The last thing I remembered was leaning into Chance as he made me cum for the fourth time of the night. Or was it the fifth? I lost count. I knew I didn’t walk into the house. I must have fallen asleep in his arms, and he must have carried me into the house.
“Mom,” he said again, trying to snap me out of it. “Are you all right?”
I looked over at him and looked into his eyes, which were full of concern for his mother. He had no clue just how all right I was. The night before, his father had given me exactly what I’d been needing for a long time. Of course, I wasn’t about to share any of that with him.
“You’re so sweet to be worried about your momma. I guess I just crashed out in here while I was reading my book last night. What time is it?”
“I don’t know. Like 7:15 or something.”
“Oh, you’re not running that late. Go on in the kitchen and I’ll make you some pancakes.”
“I can’t have pancakes this morning mom. I met a couple boys at school yesterday, and we’re going to ride our bikes to school together. I’ll just have a quick bowl of cereal,” he told me as he rushed into the kitchen.
“Two boys? Who are these boys you’re talking about?” I asked, worried that he may have found some more bad influences to hang around with.
“They’re just two boys from school. Their names are Dakota and Spencer. They meet at the diner down the street and ride their bikes to school every morning. I’m gonna ride with them.”
I made a note in my head to ask Chance if he knew anything about the two boys my son was telling me about.
