“How dare you,” she said, as she looked into his eyes. “This right here is my two week notice. You are one of a kind.”

Gavin’s eyes grew huge as he looked at her. He leaned in closer.

“What the hell is going on?” he asked. “What just happened?”

“I can’t believe I was ever stupid enough to believe you would ever care about me. I can’t believe I ever let myself have feelings for you. Did you bring me here as a joke? I don’t get it,” she said. “Don’t look at me like I’m stupid.”

“Becky, I have no idea what you’re talking about,” he said. “I care about you. I brought you here because I want you to meet my family. I brought you here because you are important to me.”

Becky let out a huge sigh.

“Don’t say that to me,” she said. “Don’t play me, Gavin. Do you hear me? I never did anything to hurt you, if that’s even possible. I can’t believe you did this to me. I am leaving as soon as this wedding is over. I’ll walk. I don’t care.”

Becky was shaking. It took all she had not to burst into tears. How could she let herself fall in love with this ass?

“I promised my mom I would introduce you to her,” he said.

“Why would even say anything about me to your mom?” she asked. “I don’t get why you even brought me here.”

“Let me introduce you to my parents,” he said. “I’ll take you home right after, I promise.”

“Whatever,” she said. “I can’t believe how stupid I was.”

Becky sat quiet. The bride walked down the aisle. Becky looked up at Chris. She could see in his eyes the love he felt as he watched Sarah walk toward him. Becky wanted that. She wanted a man to love her more than anything in the world. A man who would be faithful to her and show her how much he loved her every single day. Becky could not stop the tears that fell from her eyes as she watched the happy couple. She pulled tissue from her purse and brushed the tears from her face. Gavin put his hand on her knee and she moved it out of his reach. She could see hurt in his eyes as she shook her head.

The wedding was amazing. They each wrote their own vows. There was so much love between the couple. It was awesome to see that kind of love really existed. As they said their vows, they held their baby boy. When it came time to kiss the bride, they both kissed their son before they kissed each other. It was so cute.

As soon as the wedding was over, Ethan and Heath walked up to Gavin and Becky. Ethan grabbed her into a huge hug.

“Are you getting all mushy over the lovey stuff?” he asked.

“Very funny,” she said. “Thanks for ratting me out by the way. I need to talk to you later.”

“Did you finally change your mind?” he asked. “Are you trading this guy in for me?”

“I need that job,” she said, into his ear. “I just gave him my two week notice.”

Heath pulled Becky away from Ethan and hugged her.

“What did you do to my boy?” he whispered into her ear. “He looks like he’s about to cry. I have never seen him look like that.”

  Becky pulled away from heath.

“Gavin needs to introduce me to his mom,” she said. “It was nice to see you two.”

“Say hi to Julie for me,” Ethan said.

“I don’t think so,” Gavin said, as he turned and shot him a dirty look.

Gavin locked eyes with Becky. He took her by the hand and walked toward his mom. The woman from the restaurant was standing not more than five feet from where Gavin stopped. Just a few minutes, Becky thought to herself. You can get through this without making yourself look bad. Calm down.

“Mom,” Gavin said, as he touched a woman’s arm.

The woman turned and wrapped Gavin into a huge hug. She was beautiful. Becky could see a huge resemblance between Gavin and his mom. He had her best features. She looked so young and happy. It made Becky’s heart melt to see him and his mom embrace. The poor woman didn’t even know her son was a player. It made Becky sad to think she wouldn’t have a chance to get close to his family. They seemed so happy.

“Mom this is Becky,” he said. “Becky this is my mom.”

Becky was shocked when Gavin’s mom wrapped her in the same loving hug she had just wrapped her son in.

“It is so nice to meet you,” his mom said. “My son has told me so much about you.”

  “He has?” Becky asked.

“Yes, he has,” his mom answered. “I am so happy for you.”

Becky didn’t say a word as she looked at Gavin. He let out a sigh and Becky saw his face droop as he turned around. Oh crap! The woman from the restaurant was walking toward them. Calm down, Becky told herself. Don’t cause a scene. Don’t ruin the day for the happy couple. Breathe in and out, she told herself. The very cute witch from the restaurant wrapped her arms around Gavin. He hugged her back and smiled.

“Hey babe, how’s it going?” the girl asked.

“Great,” he answered. “How are you?”

“Are you okay?” she asked him.

  “I’m fine,” he said.

“Bull shit,” she responded. “You can’t hide anything from me. I can see right through you. Tell me who has my big brother looking like this. Whose ass am I kicking?”

  Gavin laughed.

What did she just say, Becky thought?

“Becky, this is Julie, my baby sister,” he said.

Becky extended her hand out. Her face felt flush and she felt dizzy. Becky felt like she was going to be sick. What was going on? Julie shook Becky’s hand. Becky could feel every bit of anger leave her body.

“I have heard so much about you,” Julie said. “Have I met you before?”

“No, I don’t think so,” Becky answered.

  Gavin looked over at Becky.

  “Are you okay?” he asked.

  “Yes,” she answered.

“I will be back in a bit sis,” Gavin said. “I need to take Becky home.”

“She needs to stay and party with us,” Julie said. “We are really fun, I promise.”

  Becky smiled.

“Wait, I know where I have seen you before,” Julie said. “At the restaurant by your work, Gavin. The day you took me there to talk about that romantic weekend you were planning.”

Becky scrunched her face up and let out a sigh. Don’t say it, don’t say it, Becky pleaded inside.

“Becky was there in a corner booth. I noticed her as soon as I walked in. Becky, you were there with another woman,” Julie continued. “Did it end up being a super romantic weekend?”

Julie laughed and winked, oblivious to what was going on between Gavin and Becky.

“I remember that lunch,” Gavin said. “I don’t remember seeing Becky there. Were you there Becky?”

Becky looked down at her feet.

  “Yes,” she whispered.

Becky could feel Gavin stare at her. He reached out and lifted her chin so that they were looking into each other’s eyes.

“I need to talk to Becky about something. We’ll be back in a few minutes,” Gavin said.

“Please come back Becky,” Julie said. “There are so many embarrassing things I am excited to tell you about my big brother.”

Gavin took Becky’s hand in his. She didn’t pull away from him. He led her through the house and out the front door to his car. They walked to the passenger side. Becky thought he was going to open the door for her, but he didn’t. Instead, he backed her up against the car and put his hands against the car on both sides of her. He was close enough that Becky could feel his warm breathe across her skin.

“Look at me,” he said, sternly.

Slowly, Becky lifted her face until her eyes met his.

“You were at the restaurant that day for lunch, right?” he asked.

  “Yes,” she answered.

“When I came back, you had gone home sick, correct?” he asked.

  “Yes,” she answered.

“We were supposed to spend the weekend together, but instead you scared
the shit out of me. I thought you were sick. I went to your apartment to take care of you. I couldn’t find you anywhere. It took hours before you told me where you were. I thought you went home because of your ex,” Gavin began.

Becky went to say something, but Gavin kept talking.

“I have been freaking miserable trying to figure out what I did wrong. I have watched you go to lunch with Steve and accept a date with him. I have seen you dressed up ready to walk out the door on that date. I have been a complete mess since that day. I sat in your apartment all night long last night. It took all I had not to touch you, kiss you, or make love to you. Is all of that because of that lunch?” he asked.

Becky looked silently into his eyes as she nodded.

“I asked you if you had feelings for me, and you said no,” he said. “Do you have feelings for me Becky?”

Still silent, she nodded as a tear ran from the corner of her eye.

“Why didn’t you ask me? You could have come over to our table to confront me. Do you know what I have been going through since that day? The night before we spent the night together and in the morning everything was perfect. You went to lunch and that was it. You pushed me away with no explanation. You even tried to get a job with my friend, twice. Why didn’t you say something?” he asked.

“I didn’t know what to do. We made that agreement on the cruise. When I came home, I was sad. I had already had feelings for you. I was so happy to see you again. It was hard being in the office and seeing the women talk about you. We spent a weekend together, and it was wonderful. Then, we spent that Thursday night together. We planned to spend the whole weekend together. I had strong feelings for you. When I saw you walk in that restaurant and hug her, kiss her cheek, touch her hand, and laugh with her, I was devastated. I didn’t know what to do. I went back to work and could not stop crying. I had to leave. I needed time to think, so I went to my parents’ house. That’s when I realized you didn’t have feelings for me. It was just me that had developed feelings. There was no way I could see you every day at work and not be with you. I didn’t want to leave the company. I didn’t want to go out with Steve. When I’m around him I feel nothing. You ruined that. I just thought maybe if I tried to move on, I would be okay. You didn’t want me, and I was tired of crying over you. Then, last night, you show up needing that work done. I agreed because I knew it was important to you and the company. You brought me food and even remembered my favorite ice cream. I had so much fun with you. I would start laughing or talking to you and then I would remember you and her. It tore me up,” she said. “It hurt to think about you wanting someone else.”

“I don’t want anyone else, Becky,” he said. “I only want you. You are the only woman I’ve thought about since I saw you reading that first day on the ship. You drive me crazy.”

Becky looked down at her feet as tears fell from her eyes.

“Look at me,” he said, as he lifted her chin in his hand. “Becky, I love you.”

She looked up into his eyes with shock.

  “Really?” she questioned.

“Yes, really,” he answered. “You have no idea what you do to me. I have never felt about anyone the way I feel about you. You like me for who I am. You have never expected anything from me. When I’m with you, I feel complete.”

“I have never felt about a man the way I feel about you. When you touch me, I feel safe and happy. You make me feel so loved. When I’m with you, I feel so much heat and love. No man could ever make me feel the way you do. I feel special when I’m with you. The only thing I have ever wanted from you is love. I love you Gavin. I truly love you,” she said.

“I would never hurt you Becky,” Gavin said. “I promise.”

He leaned in and covered her lips with his. She put her arms around him and pulled him closer to her. She licked his bottom lip and he plunged his tongue into her mouth as he wrapped his hands in her hair to pull her closer. He kissed her with more passion than she had ever felt from him. His kiss was so intimate as he claimed her mouth as his. She pulled back as she panted, trying to catch her breath.

“Damn. Did you really plan a romantic weekend?” she asked.

  “Yes I did,” he answered.

“I’m sorry for doubting you Gavin. I was scared of being hurt. I have never had such intense feelings before. I was afraid you didn’t want me,” she said.

“I want you, Becky,” he said. “I want you more than you will ever know. You’re mine and only mine. I am never letting you go.”

He leaned in for another kiss, when they heard Ethan yell from the front porch.

  “Get a room.”

Gavin rolled his eyes and Becky laughed. He kept his arm around her waist as they walked back to the house.

“Do you still want to come and work for me?” Ethan asked, with a wink.

“There is no way she is working with you,” Gavin mumbled.

Gavin and Becky went outside to the reception. There were decorations everywhere. The food was delicious. The wedding cake had several layers and the cutest statue on the top of a couple with a baby. Gavin excused himself for a moment, and came back with a beautiful little baby. Becky loved watching him with the little guy. It seemed so natural seeing him with the baby. He talked, played, and laughed with the little one. He introduced her to Chris Jr. like he was a little man. He kissed the baby on the cheek. Becky and Gavin talked and laughed as the tiny baby curled into him and fell asleep. Chris walked over with Sarah and Gavin introduced them to Becky. Chris laughed about Gavin bringing someone with him as Becky blushed. Chris informed her that he had never brought a woman to a family function. Gavin told him to knock it off. He explained to Chris about the work they had been up all night doing and how Becky saved his ass with a huge client. Chris joked about taking Becky from his company. Chris bent down and kissed his baby on the forehead and walked off hand in hand with his wife.

It was getting late and all of the babies were asleep. Chris started a fire for everyone to sit around. He thanked everyone for coming. Sarah stood up to thank everyone for coming as well. Becky could see the love between the happy couple. It was beautiful. Sarah asked Chris what he had told her about having children. He stood to hold her hands and told her he wanted two kids close in age, so they could play together. Sarah hugged him and whispered something in his ear and his face lit up. He was so excited that they were going to have another baby. Becky could not hold back the tears in her eyes, as Gavin rubbed her back. It was so beautiful to see how happy they were to be a family. She looked over at Gavin. He leaned in and kissed her on the tip of her nose as he brushed the tears from her face.

They said goodbye and headed for their car. The drive was quiet. Becky leaned her head back and closed her eyes. She could not believe that she had almost let Gavin go, and all over a misunderstanding. She would never doubt him again.

  Chapter Twenty-Five

Gavin parked the car in front of her apartment complex and opened her car door to help her out. He walked her to her door, kissed her on the cheek, said goodnight, and turned to walk away. Please stop me, he thought. He didn’t want her to let him leave. He never wanted to be without her again. Becky grabbed his arm as he walked away.

“Where do you think you’re going?” she asked, as she pulled his body to hers. “I have some time to make up for, and you’re not leaving until I have made up for every second.”

Becky opened her apartment door and pulled him inside, before kicking the door shut. She put her arms around his neck and pressed her lips to his. He let out a groan against her mouth and her body shivered. She opened her lips as his tongue slid between them. Their tongues tangled together. He rubbed his hands across her backside as he pulled her tightly against him. His cock was hard as he pushed himself against her so she could feel what she did to him. She reached her hand down and gripped him through his jeans as he moaned with pleasure. She ran her hands down his muscular chest and chiseled abs as she grabbed the hem of his t-shirt and pulled it over hi
s head. She let out a gasp as she pulled back.

“You are so incredibly hot,” she whispered.

Gavin growled as he grabbed her hand and pulled her into her bedroom and onto the bed. He pulled her shirt off and kissed tiny kisses down her neck to her luscious breasts. He licked her over her thin, lacy bra before cupping her breast in his hand. He ran his fingers softly over the outline of her bra as he slid his fingers beneath it and across her sexy nipples. He could feel her pink peaks harden beneath his fingertips. Unhooking her bra, he slid if from her shoulders and threw it to the floor. He took her tight nipple into his mouth as he sucked and pulled it. He released it from his teeth and licked along her breast before repeating his actions on her other one. She arched her back and moaned as he pulled her nipple with his teeth. As he gave her breasts attention with his mouth and tongue, he slid his free hand below the waist of her jeans and across her lace panties. He moaned as he felt how wet her panties were.

“You’re so wet, baby,” he mumbled against her breast. “You are so fucking beautiful?”

Becky moaned as he slid his hand below her panties and she pushed herself into his palm. He slid his fingers across her slick, wet path and growled against her chest. She wrapped her hands in his hair as she pulled him harder against her breast and pushed her hips against him hard. He slid one finger into her as she let out a passionate sound. She bucked her hips against his hand as he slid a second finger into her.

“Gavin, Please,” she pleaded with him. “I want you so bad. I want to feel you inside me. It has been to long.”

He continued sucking and licking her sexy, hard nipples as he took his fingers out and back into her over and over. She ground herself against him, keeping to his rhythm. Her hips slammed against his fingers, bringing her off the bed with each thrust he made into her.

“Do you know how good you feel inside? I love feeling how wet and warm you are. It feels so good to feel you around my fingers. I want to feel you come around them, Becky,” he said.

She pushed her hips harder against him as she cried out his name in pleasure. Her body tightened around his fingers as she tried to catch her breath. He looked into her eyes and kissed her.
