The doors of the elevator opened to the side with a "ring". Brando stepped into the elevator and pressed the button on the fifth floor.

Before the elevators shut, a sudden flurry of footsteps coming from afar came rushing toward him. A slender hand promptly jammed itself between the elevator door to stop it from closing.

As the elevator doors were made to open again, it was revealed that the person standing behind the door was Sara, the team leader of team four in B.S.S.

"Sara, why are you here?" Brando asked in astonishment.

  "I —"

The other person also did not expect to see a fellow leader in the elevator either. She darted her eyes all across the place and stumbled the words, "I was just walking around…"

Sara was the only female member of the band of mercenaries. Her makeup of choice was of a low eyebrow style, which coupled with her cold temperament, made her closely resemble the French actor Eva Green.

Contrary to the way that she usually dressed, Sara was now wearing a black low-cut dress and clouded herself in heavy makeup. She looked like she was preparing to attend a dinner party.

Upon witnessing this, Brando seemed to have joined the dots.

"Were you invited by Mr. Chen as well?"

"Yes, so you were invited too."

Sara nodded and stepped into the elevator after a brief moment of hesitation. As the elevator door closed, the two of them stood still in awkward silence.

Fortunately, the office building was only five stories tall. The elevator doors opened themselves again after about ten seconds. Brando considered for a moment before deciding to be the first one to step out. He then looked over the rows of door signs.

In the end, the two of them arrived at the sign labeled "Chairman Office".

  "Knock, knock, knock!"

Brando gently knocked on the door and a voice came from the other end of the door. "It's not locked, come in."

After hearing the familiar voice, Brando gently opened the door and stepped inside with Sara following closely after.

Just as Brando expected, it was the best office in the building. Apart from how spacious it was, he also noted the lack of any form of decoration.

There were no exquisite paintings, Asian antiques, nor was there any grand presentation in the room. Everything was set up plainly but also well-coordinated.

Positioned right across the entrance was a large office table. Chen Chen sat behind the table on a sturdy chair, silently examining two thin sheets of documents.

From what Brando could tell, they appeared to be personal records.

"Take a seat, pour yourself a drink if you'd like."

Chen Chen looked up and made an inviting gesture. When he noticed Sara's get-up, he was caught by surprise. "Ms. Sara, you look beautiful today. Do you have a date lined up?"

  "Oh no, I just…"

Sara awkwardly brushed her hair. "Just trying for a new look every once in a while."

  "Oh."

Chen Chen nodded curiously and started. "I'll make this short. I'm sure as both of you are aware, Mr. Dlamini was stricken with a terrible disease some time ago. As he's unable to afford the medical bills, he mortgaged the shares of Tara Private Security to me."

Brando and Sara were caught by surprise and exchanged a quick look between the two of them.

None of them believed that Dlamini could not be able to afford medical bills, but that was not the main point. The main point was the transfer of Tara Private Security.

Although Dlamini was only one of Tara Private Security's shareholders, the truth was that he had held up eighty percent of the company's shares and was also the one to call the shots. By all rights, one could assume that the company belonged to Dlamini.

The company was also a central part of Dlamini's influence. To have Dlamini give up on the company was as difficult as slicing a chunk of flesh off of him.

Yet, Tara Private Security was transferred to the young man from the Mainland just like this?

The two of them were utterly shocked by this revelation down to their cores…

Chen Chen went on. "The reason I've invited you two is that the two of you are the most experienced and excellent employees of Tara Private Security. I'm sure you're very informed of the structure of the company. I'd like you two to make a trip back to Rainbow Nation and get the remaining shareholders to sell their shares. We'll match the price accordingly."

  "Mr. Chen…"

Brando quickly explained, "This won't be easy. I'm sure that you're aware that the Rainbow Nation has many political parties and a large number of private armed forces. The other shareholders may be slightly weaker than Dlamini, but their combined forces is a force to be reckoned with. It'll be difficult for us to convince…"

"Of course, I'm well aware of this."

Chen Chen smiled. "Don't worry, we'll coordinate with the plutocrats of the North American and European continent to pressure the Rainbow Nation. Meanwhile, you two will act as the negotiation team serving the company's interest. Besides, who else could be more familiar with the ongoings over there than you two?"

After that, Chen Chen further supplemented. "Also, I'll have Cheng Cao go with you two."

Brando was finally at ease upon receiving the news. "Chief Cheng Cao is going as well? That makes things easier then."

Chen Chen gave him a nod and switched the topic quickly as he suggested profoundly. "If you two can accomplish this task, I'll give you a special choice."

"A choice to completely become 'one of us'…"

Chapter 179: The Rainbow Nation |

Three days later, when Brando walked out of the Cape Town International Airport with a group of employees from the legal department, several private cars were already waiting there.

Cheng Cao stood next to a car and he beckoned to them when he saw them.

  "Chief Cheng."

Brando stepped forward and shook hands with Cheng Cao.

"You don't have to call me that when we're outside."

Cheng Cao waved his hand, nodded at Sara who was behind Brando, then looked at the group behind them.

The ones who came with Brando were Anthony and Jennifer who were brought in from Switzerland back when they were planning to build the nuclear power plant. Both of them were leading the entire legal department, who had come to the Rainbow Nation too.

"Cheng Cao, did you come in advance?" Sara asked curiously.

"Yup, I rushed here to see you guys before you meet with Boss."

With that, Cheng Cao opened the door to the driver's seat and got in. Brando sat in the passenger seat while Sara and Anthony from the legal department took the backseat.

The rest got into the other two vehicles.

After Cheng Cao had got everyone into the car, he started the engine. "In fact, it's no longer necessary for the legal department to come. Over the past few days, our people have confirmed that the other shareholders of Tara Private Security Company have received the news that Dlamini is critically ill. They've joined forces with the higher-ups in Tara to monopolize power and are starting to target Dlamini's other companies."

"They're not afraid that we'll sue them?" Anthony from the legal department asked.

  "It's useless."

Brando spoke up helplessly, "Those shareholders, like Dlamini, are members of the African National Congress. It's meaningless to fight them in court. Moreover, the company itself isn't exactly law-abiding. Using the law to uphold their rights would just be like setting themselves up."

  "So, what should we do?"

  "We'll wait and see."

Cheng Cao explained, "Boss intends for the legal department to try negotiating. If they're willing to talk, we'll talk. If they're not, we'll send the legal department back to Namibia first."

  "Got it." Anthony nodded then.

Although he was not often involved in these affairs, as head of the legal department, he was used to them.

After all, this was the most complicated land in the world, Africa.
If the company had not used special methods, it would not have gained a foothold in this primitive land.

After sending everyone from the legal department to the hotel where they were staying, Cheng Chao called Brando and Sara again and brought them to a slum where black people lived.

It was no different than the slums in other parts of Africa. This slum was located in the northeast corner of Cape Town and was home to more than fifty thousand people. From the outside, it looked as if countless squat matchboxes were sitting on the plain, forming one large expanse.

When one was inside, it was even more narrow and cramped. The ground was full of stinking drains and rotten odors. Even in the daytime, the place looked dull and gloomy.

Here was a slum where no hope could be found, a corner abandoned by the world.

Upon the arrival of the strange visitors, some of the idling local residents stopped talking and stared at the three with their godless eyes.

In the eyes of these local residents, the arrival of those three was as conspicuous as a pearl rolling across decaying mud. Even as the three of them moved deeper into the slum, several local residents followed them, slowly trailing behind.

Nonetheless, this was too easily noticed by those three. Brando only had to glare menacingly at the distant crowd to send them scattering.

Soon, the three of them came to an abandoned warehouse.

Cheng Cao reached out in a familiar manner and raised the roller shutter door. Only then did Brando and Sara see that, within the dim warehouse, there were about a dozen sleeping bags spread over the ground. A person was sitting silently next to each sleeping bag.

These people had blank faces as they sat listlessly on the ground, with food and water beside them.

Other than that, they did not communicate or amuse themselves, merely sat there wordlessly like a machine.

Among these people, some were Asian, some were white or black, but they had a common feature. They were identical in terms of their behavior and presence, giving the impression that they were not alive…

When Brando and Sara saw this group of people, their eyes narrowed at once.

As mercenaries and killers who trod the fine line between life and death all year round, how could they fail to notice that the body fat percentage of these people was almost less than ten percent? In its place, there was an explosive power that seemed ready to erupt from their bodies!

Training oneself to such a level was not achievable merely with ordinary hardships. One must have a mentality that was akin to self-abuse, continually breaking past the limits of one's physical strength, before one could reach this stage, right?

"Cheng Cao, they're…" Sara asked, astounded.

"They'll also be part of this operation, but only as a final measure."

Cheng Cao replied reservedly, "I know what you want to ask, but I'm sorry, I can't answer you now. If you join us in the future, you'll learn who these people are."

When they heard this, something flitted across the expressions of Brando and Sara.

Previously, when Chen Chen had given his orders to the two, he had said something similar.

  "If you join us."

In other words, there was a more mysterious organization behind the Blackwatch Corporation. These peculiar people in the warehouse were probably a secret trump card of the company.

Noticing the pensive look on their faces, Cheng Cao walked to the corner of the warehouse, took out two Glock pistols from a suitcase, then took out four magazines, and handed them to Brando and Sara.

"Take these for self-defense first. I've already notified Tara Company. At around 12 noon tomorrow, you and the negotiating team will join their meeting and instantly evaluate their intentions."

Cheng Cao added. "Boss' plan was, if this group of people is willing to talk, we'll talk as usual. If they don't want to talk, then fine. We'll go with the second plan."

"What's the second plan?" Sara asked, puzzled.

  "That's…"

Cheng Cao drew a finger across his neck and said cryptically, "If they want to stand in the way of the Blackwatch Corporation, there's only one option left. I recall that assassination should be part of both your previous expertise."

"But these are members of the Congress."

Brando was hesitant. "If we anger the authorities because of this, we may have a hard time dealing with the aftermath."

"You don't have to worry about that."

Cheng Cao waved his hand and said unconcernedly, "North America will put pressure on the Rainbow Nation. You should know as well that consortia from various countries are backing the Blackwatch Corporation."

"Then you won't be going with us tomorrow?" Brando asked as he inspected his pistol.

"I have another job to do."

Cheng Cao shook his head while pointing at the group of people on the ground. "If the negotiation collapses, they'll meet you downstairs…"

  Chapter 180: Rejection |

When Dlamini became seriously ill and went to the Eco Science City for treatment, the operations under him could still just about function. However, when those people heard the rumors that the ownership of certain shares in Tara Private Security Company had been transferred, their hearts were instantly swayed.

Using this as an excuse, the other shareholders seized this chance to wrestle over the authority Dlamini once had when he controlled the company.

However, before a decisive victor could emerge, they stopped their fighting.

This was because the company that had acquired Dlamini's shares had sent someone over.

Faced with an external opponent, these shareholders, through a discussion with the board of directors, decided to stop their current rivalry for now. They would concentrate their efforts on facing this outsider and defeat this new enemy before anything else.

  "Is the news true?"

One day later, in a conference room in Tara Company, three black men could not help frowning in their seats upon hearing the news.

Just then, a middle-aged black man suddenly laughed. "They dare to send someone to take over?"

"Yes, the representatives of the other company are waiting downstairs."

  "And who are they?"

By one side, an older black man picked up a cigar. The waiter on the side stepped forward and gently lit it.

"Blackwatch is the company that recently opened the Eco Science City in Namibia," the subordinate at the door quickly explained.

"D*mn it, trouble has arrived on our doorstep!

The middle-aged black man banged the table fiercely at once. "What are you waiting for then? Since Dlamini has withdrawn, this company will naturally fall under our control. If outsiders dare to intervene, why, they can forget about walking out of here!"

  "Don't be rash, Colmore."

The older black man said hurriedly, "We can first meet them and see what they have in mind. After all, they won't be unaware of who we are. Since they still dare to cross the border to take over Tara Company, I'm afraid they won't be beaten off so easily."

"Plus, among the representatives they've sent are the two top mercenaries, Brando and Sara." The older black man added.

"Those two traitors are here too?"

The middle-aged black man called Colmore snorted coldly. "They're just two killers. It's not like we don't have some of those ourselves."

"Forget about Brando and Sara. What about that company?"

The older black man shook his head and said earnestly, "This Blackwatch Corporation is very mysterious. They're supported by a few major financial groups in North America and Europe. It won't be wise to provoke them."

"In that case, we'll go with your plan, Botu."

The middle-aged black man turned up his palms unwillingly. "Even if they're influential on an international level, don't forget that we won't put up with b*stards like them…"

As they all agreed unanimously, the old man Botu strode to the door and ordered, "Bring in the representatives of the Blackwatch Corporation."<

One of his staff nodded, turned, and walked out of the conference room. After a while, about a dozen men and women filed in from outside.

However, upon meeting these people, the three men who were puffing away in the top seats could not help but raise their eyebrows.

"Look who's here. Isn't that Brando? And Ms. Sara. To think that Dlamini was telling the truth — both of you have run off to another company."

The middle-aged man narrowed his eyes at Sara and let out a long whistle.

"Mr. Colmore, we now represent the Blackwatch Corporation."

Brando coolly and fearlessly sat down opposite the shareholders. "I believe you're all acquainted with Sara and myself. Now, let me introduce the rest. This is our company's negotiating expert, Anthony, our legal counsel, Jennifer, and their team."

After that, Brando said to Anthony and the rest, "Before us are the shareholders of Tara Private Security Company. This is Mr. Colmore, that's Mr. Botu, and that's Mr. Papari…"

After introducing the three of them, Brando suddenly asked, "Where's Mr. Prak? I remember that he holds a six percent stake in Tara Company."

"The three of us can represent him." Botu waved his hand indifferently.

Colmore suddenly laughed viciously and mocked. "Brando, are you going to give up your previous career and become a white-collar worker?"

"I'm only in charge of the security of this negotiation, not the negotiation itself." Brando withdrew his smile and resumed his usual stern demeanor.

  "Alright, Colmore, let's talk business."

Botu cut off their little tiff and turned to face the negotiating team from Blackwatch. "Now, can you tell us what your intentions are in coming here?"

Anthony looked at the bodyguards positioned around the conference room and gulped secretly. "Mr. Botu, on behalf of Blackwatch Corporation, we want to acquire your shares of Tara Company. This is our plan. Please take a look…"

While talking, he looked to the assistant on his side. The assistant took out a few sheets with trembling hands and handed them to the people across the conference table.

Botu opened the plan and looked at it, then frowned. "A twenty percent premium?"
