Born of Lies

by Sara Dailey

Seeing them together and knowing that our children grew up loved and cherished made all the suffering and heartbreak of my past worth it. I gave up my life here nineteen years ago for a new one full of happiness and unconditional love with Paul, and I have never, ever regretted it. Whatever comes next with the boys and Marcus, no matter what our future holds, I never will.

  AUTHORS’ NOTE

1994 was undoubtedly an epic year for Lillian and the Red Ridge Pack, but it was pretty big for the rest of us, too. Bill Clinton was in his second year as president. Millions were glued to their television sets watching as O.J. Simpson took the L.A. police on one wild ride. We all said hello to a couple of new television shows that would become forever iconic, Friends and ER. And some of the biggest movies ever, Pulp Fiction and Forrest Gump, hit the silver screen. We also had to say goodbye to a young, brilliant musician who changed music forever, Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain.

1994 was NOT a good year for fashion, but the music was HOT! Here are some of the year’s best!

  • “Whatta Man” – Salt-N-Pepa

  • “Hero” – Mariah Carey

  • “Regulate” – Warren G and Nate Dogg

  • “Here Comes the Hotstepper” – Ini Kamoze

  • “Keep Ya Head Up” – 2Pac

  • “Crazy” – Aerosmith

  • “Linger” – Cranberries

  • “I Swear” – All-4-One

  • “Fantastic Voyage” – Coolio

  • “Whoop!” – Tag Team

  • “Found Out About You” – Gin Blossoms

  • “Tootsee Roll” – 69 Boyz

  • “Mr. Jones” – Counting Crows

  • “Loser” – Beck

  • “Gin & Juice” – Snoop Dogg
