Chapter 58
Julie
What a relief it was to see that Kevin’s car was not in the driveway. But that relief was short lived thinking whether he was hiding in the house? Has he completely lost it? He could be hiding in a closet with a gun? Anything is possible as Kevin has nothing to lose and this scares me more than anything.
“Hello,” I shout a second time from the threshold of the front door. Still no response, Bo is next to me. He walks in first and I follow. My heart is up to my throat. So far, nothing seems out of the ordinary. I carefully look in the dining room and living room, nothing. We walk into he kitchen, turn on the lights and no Kevin.
Bo shines his flashlight against the sliding glass door, to see the backyard. I turn the patio light on, no one in the backyard.
“Let’s go upstairs.”
“Stay behind me,” Bo directs.
I follow him, just a step behind him, not wanting to make a sound so I can hear movement if there’s any, the suspense is having me hold my breath.
No sign of Kevin in the guest room and no sign of him in the office. The only room left is my bedroom. I hate to think Kevin was ever in my room.
I panic thinking about my journals, hoping he didn’t come across them. Fearing the worst, remembering when he said he couldn’t help being charming and attractive. Thinking he must have gotten his hand on them. My journals were a big part of my life during my therapy. I had them everywhere in my room.
The bedroom door is open, Bo turns on the light, the bed still made and the closet door is open too. The room is how I left it, relieved to see that Kevin is no where in sight. When I turn around Bo is just a few feet away.
“I looked under the bed, it’s all clear,” he says.
I smile, seeing his sweet, kind face gets my blood pumping.
“I see a bed,” I say.
Bo walks over, his smile has me melting inside. He leans into me, placing his hands on my cheeks to kiss me.
“It’s just waiting for us,” he says.
I moan, he just knows how to get me going.
“Watching your ass, has given me a raging woody.”
I move my hand to his mid area, rubbing his manhood. He moans and I feel my private start to tingle, feeling it come alive, wanting what my hand is feeling. I couldn’t wait for our clothes to be off, wanting his manhood deep in me.
“Ah, you drive me mad,” he says. He takes his right hand and places it at the nape of my neck, pushing me closer to him. Our kissing has become labored, his kisses are sexy, so wanting him to be naked with him under the sheets. He stares in my eyes, as he keeps kissing me like I am candy, getting off when I look deep in his golden brown eyes.
How was I so off to know what my heart felt? There was no doubt, Kevin was never my true love. How stupid I was to think he may have been. Looking in Bo’s eyes, felt like a cold bucket of reality just splashed over me. He’s my true love.
I turn and lay back on the bed. He falls on me, he pulls his shirt off, my heart goes thump thump seeing his abs. He takes my shirt off, leaving my bra.
“I want all of you now.”
He takes his jeans and underwear off in one shot, in such a fast way that I have to smile. My shirt has come handy, as his hand goes up to take my underwear off. He must want it as bad as I because he just slides his hard penis into me, letting out a moan that makes blush.
“You are so beautiful,” Bo says, as he looks deep in my eyes, as he thrusts into me. I arch up to kiss him as he leans down so our lips touch, our bodies pick up speed jackhammering into each other.
Moving my hips in rhythm to his thrusts, has him touching my sweet spot. He is more than a fantasy come true, he’s a real babe.
Feeling seconds away from coming, he stops.
“I want to taste you,” he says, staring right in my eyes.
He scoots down between my legs, his tongue, licking and pulsating in my private. Rocking my hips up and down, my legs having a mind of their own.
Just when I feel like I am about to come, he stops and scoots himself back up to where we are eye to eye. His deep stares, cut through my soul. Like its reading my mind’s deepest thoughts.
He teases me, kissing me, rubbing his manhood between my inner thighs, I just what it in me, rocking me. But he loves foreplay, teasing my private as it gets juicer waiting for him.
“Do you want it?” he asks, breathing deeply in my ear.
“Yes, I want you.”
He wastes no time entering me, my back arches. My thighs are tired but they still know what to do, without any reservation. He jackhammer into me, to where I come, feeling like I had ran a marathon and ten second he comes as well.
“I’ve never…” he says mumbling the rest of the sentence.
I couldn’t even speak, to ask what he had said.
“I need water, I’m going downstairs,” Bo says.
I point to the mini fridge next to my nightstand.
“Nice,” he says.
Bo gets up, still naked, his tush is just as shapely as him.
He opens the fridge, “Ah, beer,” he says as he takes one out.
My stomach drops, wondering how was it that my refrigerator was stocked with beer. There was no other explanation other than Kevin.
“Let’s have one,” Bo says.
“How about water first? I am really thirsty,” I say.
“Sure, water is better.”
He grabs a bottle, unscrews the top and hands it over to me.
“Thanks.”
I lie down and he lies next to me, I turn around so we can spoon. A tear rolls down my cheek. Bo was right, Kevin was in the house earlier.
What else did he leave behind?
I didn't put the beers in the refrigerator but I was not going to ruin the moment.
Chapter 59
Bo
I wake up seeing it’s four in the morning, startled hearing noise from downstairs. I quietly get up, put on my jeans and shirt. Julie is still sleeping.
I open the master bedroom door, holding my breath, hearing the sound again.
“Where are you going?” Julie asks.
She scares me, but I manage to smile, “I’m going downstairs.”
“Why? Did you hear something?”
Shit, I can’t lie to her, “Well, I thought I heard something but I don’t hear anything now.”
She gets out of bed, naked, looking so beautiful. Her breasts so perky. I have to stop looking at her, or I will have to have her.
“I’ll go with you,” she says.
“Nah, I got it covered, just stay in bed, wait for me. It’s probably nothing.”
“OK,” she says. “But don’t be too long.”
I slowly take each step, looking around the dining room and part of the living room. No one I can see. I walk to the kitchen to see a cat, once it sees me, it comes my way, rubbing its side against my leg.
I turn to see Julie standing by the kitchen door.
“I didn’t know you had a cat,” I say.
“I don’t.”
“Oh, then how did it get in?”
“I’ve seen this cat around, it lives down the street. He or she could have come in from last night. I think we both were paying attention to other things.”
“True, well he looks like he likes it here.”
“Yes he does, but he is out of here in a few hours, now lets go back to bed.”
“You look mad, has this happened before?”
“No, just frustrated, that’s it.”
Still Julie grabs a bowl and fills it with water for the cat.
Chapter 60
Julie
After morning sex, Bo gets up to leave. He still has to go back home and change, we decided the next time he comes over he would bring his uniform just encase he slept over again, so he wouldn’t have to rush home in the morning.
The cat belongs to Kevin, he did this same bullshit trick to another victim I read in James’ file. The young lady, Beth, had stated that af
ter she had ended the relationship with Kevin. She found a cat in her apartment when she had another male over. So he knows about Bo.
I go back in my room, lock the door and just lie in bed, moving over to Bo’s side smelling him and his sex. I wish could have stayed longer. My eyes wander to my nightstand, focusing on a small picture frame I don’t recognize, where did it come from.
I reach over and grab it, to see it is a picture of Kevin and I from law school.
I feel sick, wanting to throw-up, feeling the onset of a panic attack. I get out of bed, prancing in my room,I looking to see whatever else he may have placed in my room.
OMG, there is another picture frame of him posing in front of his BMW. I take it and throw it in the waste paper basket.
My cell phone rings, it’s Kevin.
“Hello,” I say coldly.
“Hey sweetheart, how did you sleep?”
I find it hard to breathe, let alone talk. What is wrong with me?
“Did a cat bite your tongue?” Kevin asks, laughing.
“Get your cat, or I will call the police.”
“Really, didn’t you just have an officer at our house, maybe I should call and say there was a stranger sleeping in my bed, screwing my girlfriend. I don’t think he would like the attention.”
“Fuck you.”
“Well, I would very much like that, I can be home in let’s say two minutes. I’m just next door.”
“Bastard, get the hell out of her house, before I do call the police, so help me God.”
“Well, since Ms. Joan signed everything to you, I will just say you let me in.”
“Stop with the games Kevin.”
“Ooh, I like it when you play tough, it only makes me want you more.”
I feel the room spinning, feeling frightful of leaving it, but fearing if I don’t he will come over. What to do?
“Julie, I am not next door, shit I am not that stupid, but I’m not that far away either. I could drive over if you aren’t nice to me.”
“What do you want?”
“I want you to do me a favor.”
“So you don’t want to get back together,” I ask, realizing I shouldn’t have let on how it was my most pressing issue.
“Meet me tomorrow for lunch at Speakeasy, around 12:00 and we will talk business.”
I feel sick, why can’t I just say no? Because Kevin doesn't know the meaning of the word. I have so much to lose if I don’t hear what his favor is.
I arrive at the office, Heather is busy on the phone. She waves and hands over my messages. I can feel there are about ten calls I need to return. I decide to make a pot of coffee, write my to do list while it brews.
1.Call the hospital about Joan’s condition
2.Call Emily about the Parker case; still haven’t received withdraw papers.
3.Call James
“Hi, this is Julie White, I’m calling about Joan Craft. How is she doing?
“Good, but she is sleeping now.”
“Oh OK, she must still be tired,” I say.
“She had a visitor this morning.”
“Really, who?”
“A man by the name of Kevin. He said he was her lawyer and she signed a few documents. She was actually happy about it.”
“What?”
“I’m her lawyer not Kevin.”
“Well, she was fine with it.”
What was up Kevin’s sleeve, unfortunately I could only imagine the worst.
“Do you want me to wake her up?”
“No, that’s not necessary, just let her sleep. I will be over later.”
I would get to the bottom of this when I see Kevin later, for now I was not going to let it upset me.
I dial Emily’s number.
“Hi girl, it’s Julie. How are you?”
“Crazy busy.”
“Have you heard anything new about Robert’s crash?”
“Not much, the police are still looking, but I did hear they haven’t found his planner or cell phone.”
“I’m sure they will, Robert liked to hide things so it’s got to be somewhere.”
“You are right.”
“Oh, what is happening with the Parker case? I didn’t get the withdrawal paper.
“I swear this case is frustrating, the ex, Mr, Parker is in jail because he hit, the ex, Mrs. Parker. She never signed the paper prior to the incident.
“Well, the deal is off.”
I look to see a missed call from the devil himself, Kevin, and of course he leaves a message.
“It’s important you call me back about lunch today.”
What an idiot.
I call James, tell him what is going down here. He says Kevin has been calling his ex-girlfriends, many have called him. I find it hard to believe that he has any, because he seems to be bothering me twenty-four seven. He tells me that meeting him in a public area is safe. However, I don’t even tell him that Kevin has broken in my house, I just want to get this SOB out of my life.
I text Kevin, “See you at Speakeasy at 12.”
“Can’t wait, he texts back.”
There is a knock at the door, it’s Heather.
“Hi, how are you?” she asks. “It’s like we haven’t seen each other for weeks.”
“I know, its been hectic.”
“Has he been bothering you?”
I smile at Heather, not wanting to worry her, but she senses it. “He has been a royal pain.”
“Well, what are you going to do?”
“I am going to end it once and for all,” I say.
“Good, stick to your guns.”
“I’m actually meeting him for lunch at Speakeasy, and I will lay the law down real hard.”
Heather laughs, “I like that, I have to use that line sometime. Well you sound like you’re going to give that asshole what he deserves.”
“I sure am and he better listen,” I say.
“Alright then.”
“I shouldn’t be long.”
Chapter 61
Bo
Paul just called to say Natalie and him are officially dating. I guess things did work out for him.
I think of Julie, what would be worst regretting that I didn’t end the relationship or regretting that I didn’t stay in it.
Her ex-Kevin is a real winner. He still has control over her, even if she can’t admit it and I can’t just wait around for her to put an end to it. Kevin Ward is officially on my shit list for life, and I am gonna make sure he knows he needs to move on or beware.
I get a call from dispatch, “There is a domestic dispute on Waterway Street…”
“Copy.”
I drive to find a woman laying on the front yard. Three other women are around her, stating that the woman was choked by her live in boyfriend. He was hiding in the house, high out of his mind.
“Wait here, no one come in after me,” I say.
I find the ex-boyfriend in a closet, he is crying, apologizing how sorry he is and how he loves the woman. I held him back and cuffed him, placing him in the back of my cop car.
Love could be so fucked up.
After writing the police report, then driving him to jail. I call Julie. I want to hear her voice.
“Hi sweet stuff,” I say.
“Ah, don’t get me going when you are not around.”
“Well, we could meet for lunch for a quickie,” I say.
“Ah, I wish but I have a lunch appointment but how about later? At my place.”
“OK, but are you sure you can’t sneak off for a little bit?”
“Maybe.”
Just hearing there is a possibility gives me a hard on.
Chapter 62
Julie
“Well, I am off.”
Heather looks at me, “Do you want me to come? I can take my break now.”
“No, it’s OK. I won’t be long.”
The opportunity to end this madness with Kevin is just within my reach. Yet, I am sick with fear, my chest tightens, just ha
ving to see him.
I don’t know if my heart will be able to take seeing him. Does he know I spoke with James? Though he would get locked away if convicted. It wouldn’t be forever. He would get out. I shouldn’t even think this way, but I fear him. Kevin will eventually know that I was the one who gave the missing piece.
I pull in Speakeasy’s, one of our favorite handout. I see his BMW. He is here, my heart starts racing like it just set off for a race.
I take three long deep breaths. Get out of the car, fixing my shirt. I really didn’t want to wear anything too revealing but James said I should, to have Kevin distracted. Saying he would have a hard time keeping his guard up. Still I didn’t like it, I knew Kevin could get the wrong idea.
I look at my phone, to check if its on vibrate. I see a text from Bo, “How about a quickie?”
There is no time to text back. I have to get this over. I see Kevin at the bar, typical him to be drinking already. He waves when he sees me.
“Hi Kevin,” I say.
He gets up to kiss me, “Man are you one hot prosecutor, look what I’m missing.”
“Remember I don’t have all day.”
“You know when I was working on the Kemp trial, I was thinking about you all the time. I wanted to win so I could give you the wedding and life you wanted.”
Kevin’s eyes were soft, seeing him transported to when we first met.
“But you had to move on, and screw Robert, and now a fucken police officer.”
I get up, “Well, you know how to screw a hello.”
“Sit down Julie or you will regret it.”
My insides are shaking, I have to follow through with my plans or I will never be rid of him, that is for sure.
I give him a serious stare, “Now I don’t have much time, have a deposition in an hour, so lets get down to business like you said.”
“Man, you even have the lingo down pat. I am impressed, I’m sure your mother would be proud how you can call the shots now, not like her.”
“What the fuck are you talking about?”
