To Tempt a Dashing Lord

“There is so much I would like to teach you about passion. I am certain that you would enjoy much of it,” Marcus said as he wrapped his arms around her, drawing her close.

“Could a woman take a man’s member into her mouth?” Catherine asked. Her words caused his own member to throb with need.

“Yes, it is possible. But I am quite large,” Marcus said. “I wouldn’t want to hurt you.”

“I will never know until I try,” she replied, her voice sultry. Catherine then moved down his body as he laid upon his back. His member stood erect, his body full of excitement as Catherine settled above him.

Wrapping a hand around his shaft, Catherine then lowered her mouth and kissed the top of his head. The feeling caused a shock to shoot through him, his desire only so much higher. Marcus reached out and began to massage her bottom as she parted her lips and began to take him into her mouth.

Never before had Marcus ever felt anything like this in his entire life. No woman had ever been willing to do such a thing. The fact that Catherine was willing to pleasure him in this way spoke volumes of her love from him. And as he watched her, he could easily tell she was curious as she experimented with how much of him she could bury in her mouth and how her tongue could lap against his head and shaft.

As Catherine settled into a rhythm of bobbing her head up and down his shaft, Marcus knew that he wouldn’t be able to resist spilling his seed for much longer. The last thing Marcus wanted to do was lose himself inside her mouth, so, gently, he tugged on her behind to get her attention. She raised her head then, a look of panic on her face.

“It feels so good,” Marcus was quick to explain. “But I would much rather lose myself inside of you than in your mouth.”

“Then show me what to do,” Catherine said, her voice innocent.

Leaning up, Marcus guided her until she was straddling her legs on either side of his hips. He took his member into his hand and guided the head of him towards her wet opening as she raised up on her knees. When he was in position, he placed his free hand on her hips and guided her slowly down onto his member.

Marcus moaned as she sunk down on him, his entire member disappearing inside her wet core. As her inner walls adjusted to his large size, he used both hands to keep her hips steady and still. He didn’t want to hurt her but understood that his size was much larger than most. Or at least, that was what he’d always been told by his other partners.

“You feel so good inside of me,” Catherine moaned softly, her eyes hooded with desire as she looked down at him.

“I never want this to end,” Marcus hissed through clenched teeth as he started to guide Catherine up and down on his shaft. He could see his member glistening in the candlelight every time Catherine would raise back up on her knees before lowering her hips back down again.

Marcus knew he wasn’t going to last long. With one of his hands he reached out and began to rub her sensitive nub in frantic circles while he began to thrust his hips up into her. The sound of thrashing flesh filled the air as he arched his back, knowing he was about to reach his peak ever so quickly.

“Oh, yes! Catherine, just like that!” Marcus cried out in pleasure. He lost himself in the climax, his seed pouring from him for it had been so long since they had last been together. Their moans of pleasure filled the air as they climaxed together, the walls of Catherine’s inner core clamping tightly against him as though to milk him for every drop that he had.

Marcus’ chest was heaving for air as Catherine leaned forward and freed him from within her. She laid out on his chest as his arms came and wrapped around her, holding her tight as they both worked hard to normalise their breathing. They both were panting hard, shivers of pleasure swarming through Marcus’ body as his member continued to twitch with anticipation.

“You are absolutely wonderful,” Catherine said as they both relaxed once more.

“Not as wonderful as you are, my dear. I want you to always know that I will never stop desiring you. Even after you have borne me children,” Marcus said. Catherine chuckled and Marcus could feel the rumble of her doing so in his chest. He was enjoying holding her close and feeling the heat from her body.

Eventually, Marcus had Catherine lay next to him so that he could rise from the bed and grab a clean cloth to soak in the water basin. With the damp cloth, he returned to the bed to help Catherine clean up. But in the process of their hands coming together and Catherine guiding him where to touch her, the simple act of cleaning turned passionate, spurring on another round of love making.

  Chapter 24

It was easier for Catherine to smile the next day. She woke in the arms of her loving husband, reminding her how much she had to be grateful for. Their intimacy the previous night had reawakened many feelings inside her.

s she slipped out from underneath the covers and hurried to dress, she made her way back to her bedchamber to ready for the day. She was pleasantly sore in a way that helped her to remember the thralls of pleasure she had enjoyed the night before.

Marcus had showed himself to be a caring lover who was quick to pleasure her and help her to experience things she would have normally never thought of before. She loved trying new things with Marcus and hoped that their intimate times together would always be this adventurous.

Once she had summoned her lady’s maid and had dressed for the day, she crossed the hallway to the nursery to collect Beth. Mrs. Denton had just finished changing her cloths when Catherine entered the nursery. Catherine couldn’t help but smile brightly as she collected Beth in her arms and held the child tight.

“How is my little one doing?” Catherine asked in a soft voice as she rocked the child back and forth. Beth giggled in delight in response, a sound Catherine knew she would never tire of.

“She seems to be resting well,” Mrs. Denton commented. “And growing like a weed, too. Before you know it, she’ll be pulling herself up and trying to walk.”

“I wish she would stay small forever,” Catherine said with a chuckle.

“As do I,” Mrs. Denton said, following Catherine out of the nursery as she went downstairs for breakfast. She had just stepped off the last step of the stairs when Mr. Burg came around the corner, carrying a letter in his hand.

“For you, Lady Kingston,” Mr. Burg said as he bowed and held the letter out to her.

Unsure of who could be writing to her, she handed Beth to Mrs. Denton so they could continue on. Catherine then took the letter, thanking the butler, before pulling at the unmarked sealed wax. She unfolded it as she walked slowly towards the dining room, a feeling of foreboding settling over her.

  Dearest Catherine,

By the time you will have received this letter, I will be long gone from England. After confessing all to the Royal Magistrate, I knew I wouldn’t be able to show myself again. With your husband’s letter, I was able to escape with my life with the advice to never return to England again.

Therefore, I shall board the first ship leaving the ports and make my way to somewhere new. I don’t know if we shall ever meet again, but I at least wanted you to understand what has happened to me.

I won’t try to ask for your forgiveness because I know what I did was terribly wrong. I will no doubt live the rest of my life in poverty, and perhaps I really deserve it. Whatever is left of our father’s fortune and properties should fall to you and Lord Kingston. I know you two will know better what to do with it than I ever did.

In the end, I’m glad to know you are with your husband. Again, I’m sorry for all the trouble I did cause you over the years. The only thing I can think to write in my last letter to you is to keep a close watch over your shoulder. Lord Whetstone is a man of means and will no doubt try to do something once all of England learns of what we’ve done.

  I’ll never forget you,

  Denver

Tears pricked the corners of Catherine’s eyes as she read and reread the letter. She had a sinking feeling in her heart to learn that her brother had left the country a
nd would no doubt be banned from ever returning.

He truly had done a terrible thing, and the fact that he would be allowed to live was a miracle on its own. But it was the last part of his letter that truly frightened Catherine. Would Lord Whetstone really try to bring harm to her and her family because of the truth being found out? The last thing Catherine wanted to do was live in fear for the rest of her life.

Knowing that Beth was safe with Mrs. Denton, Catherine picked up the hem of her gown and quickly made her way back upstairs. She hurried down the hallway and began to knock urgently on Marcus’ door before she could hear him beckoning her inside. As she opened the door and stepped in, she found him sitting up in bed, rubbing his eyes of sleep. His hair was dishevelled from their night of love making, making him appear rather alluring.

Catherine pushed those lovely thoughts out of her mind as she came to his side and handed him the letter. His brows furrowed together as he looked up at her, then down at the letter. He took it into his hands and began to read it while Catherine waited patiently for him to understand what had transpired.

“Your brother is lucky that all he received was exile from England,” Marcus said as he handed her back the letter when he was finished. She nodded as she folded it back up and held it in her hands. She knew it would be the last thing she ever received from her brother.

“I hope he finds a better life outside of England,” she mused.

“Indeed. I do hope he will find true happiness one day,” Marcus said, standing from the bed and stretching. “But the last part of that letter does bother me.” Catherine was staring at his naked body in the sunlight, finding it rather amusing to see him fully bare while she was still dressed.

“Yes, I am quite unsure of what Lord Whetstone could actually do now that the Royal Magistrate has my brother’s testimony. I’m sure the man will be quartered and tried for his crimes,” Catherine said as she turned away from Marcus while he pulled on some clothes.

“We will have to see. I will write to my solicitor again to discover any news from Town on the matter. Till then, we should simply be cautious. Especially of strangers,” Marcus reasoned.

“I doubt we shall meet many strangers here in the country,” Catherine said with a chuckle. “I do not plan to travel anywhere else.”

“Nor do I. That doesn’t mean a person might not pass through our neighbourhood or make an inquiry here at the house. It simply means we should be cautious when we can be.” Marcus came and rested his hands on her shoulders, the feeling comforting to Catherine. She reached up and placed her hand on his, wishing the letter had held better news. If she knew that Lord Whetstone was being dealt with by the Royal Magistrate, then she wouldn’t have to fear so much.

“Come, let’s go down to breakfast. If the day is decent, we could spend time out in the gardens with Beth,” Marcus suggested as he dropped his hands, running them down her back. “Unless you’d like to return to bed with me.”

Catherine chuckled as she moved out of his reach, swatting away his hands as he tried to come after her again. “Behave yourself, good sir. I am famished and must eat something before we try that again.”

“Then hurry to breakfast. I shall be down as soon as I am ready,” Marcus said as he went to the wall and pulled the servant’s cord. He then kissed her gently on the lips before she departed his bedchamber.

Catherine walked slowly down the hallway as she fiddled with the letter in her hand. She was curious to know where her brother would go, and thought it was better she didn’t know in case something else might arise.

If her brother still owed anyone money and somebody came looking for Catherine, at least she could tell anyone that inquired of her brother that she truly did not know where he was.

The part that worried Catherine the most was how the Ton would respond to the news once it circulated the gossip circles. Lord Whetstone would certainly be taken to trial to answer to what her brother had testified. She, in fact, might be summoned to Town to give an account of what she remembered of that night.

The very idea unnerved her because she didn’t like the idea of having to stand in front of so many men and explain what an earl did to her. Even with her brother’s testimony, she was afraid that Lord Whetstone might be allowed free if the judges did not believe her brother’s story after all.

Catherine made her way to the dining room and found Beth sitting at the table in her child’s chair, eating the small bits of breakfast food that Mrs. Denton was feeding her. The child clapped happily as Catherine came near and sat next to her.

“She’s such a big girl,” Mrs. Denton said happily as Beth took another bite of boiled egg.

“She is truly growing into a beautiful child,” Catherine said, smiling down at her daughter. Though Beth hadn’t been born of her womb, Catherine would always love her as though she had been. And with so much uncertainty concerning Lord Whetstone, she decided to focus her entire effort on being joyful with her family.

When Marcus came down for breakfast, Catherine smiled up at him as he came to sit at the head of the table. She was reminded of everything she had to be thankful for. She had a family, a loving husband, and a quickly growing daughter. No matter what would happen next, she was sure it couldn’t be any worse than what she had already experienced in life.

“I want to write a few letters this morning. I think it’s important that my solicitor understands all that has happened. Especially with the condition of your brother’s estates. We might have to travel to Town to find out what we should do,” Marcus said as the footman came to serve him the hot food from the buffet.

“I terribly dislike the idea of traveling after everything that had happened. However, I understand if it’s the best decision we should make. My brother’s estate will have to be dealt with. But I don’t want to be in Town with Lord Whetstone’s trial. Society will be very oppressive,” Catherine said before taking a large bite of her Danish scone. Catherine’s eyes shifted towards Beth as she began to take the boiled egg and squish it in her little hands. Mrs. Denton fussed over her, which only caused Catherine to smile more brightly.

“Let’s take the day easy and make bigger decisions later in the day after we’ve been given time to think about it,” Marcus suggested.

“What are we discussing so early in the morning?” Lady Evergreen asked as she came into the room, her cane clanking against the wooden floor.

“We may have to go to Town to deal with some matters concerning Lord Hall,” Marcus explained as the widow settled down at the table next to Catherine.

“That certainly doesn’t sound ideal. What has happened?” she asked.

“I received a letter from my brother this morning,” Catherine said, eyeing Mrs. Denton. She didn’t want the staff gossiping, so she made sure to choose her words carefully. “He’s going abroad and wishes to leave his property to Catherine and I.”

“My word, what a development.” Lady Evergreen said, then turned her attention to Marcus as she said, “I understand why you’d want to go to Town. I’m sure this is a matter for your solicitor.”

“My thought exactly,” Marcus replied. “But let us discuss it in the progress of the day. I do not want to make any hasty decisions.”

“Sound advice. It’s almost as though you are starting to sound like someone we all know,” Lady Evergreen said with a chuckle. As they enjoyed their breakfast, talking more of the weather and the plans for the day, Catherine tried to focus her thoughts on the pleasant things they could all enjoy. The warm weather, the sunshine, and the last of the blooms for the season.

The last thing she wanted to think about was the likely fact that they’d all have to travel to Town to deal with this matter. And that meant hiding from society and keeping Beth to the house to avoid any more scandal. If only life could be simpler, Catherine thought.

  Chapter 25

The carriage rumbled down the cobblestones, the feeling of the carriage changing from the steady swaying of the country roads to the
staggering feeling of being back in Town. The sensation was the first thing that told Marcus they had finally made it to their destination. It was the pungent smell of industry and close proximity of people which filled his nostrils that reminded Marcus of everything he disliked about Town.
