My Baby Is A West Coast King 3

“So what, are y’all sister wives now?” that bitch Ambrosia snickered as I came from the back, on my way out.

Why did she insist upon fucking with me? I didn’t understand the shit. It was like she wanted me to beat her ass. I think she thought I was all talk because I had yet to let the South Side in me out.

I calmly placed my things down in the chair, and walked over to her station where she was packing up.

“What’s good?” I shrugged, when she turned to look at me.

“I just asked a question.” She grinned, glancing at her two friends who were doing hair on each side of her. She was smiling, but they weren’t. I guess because they could sense that I wasn’t on some play play shit at the moment.

  WHAM!

“Oh my gosh!… What the fuck!… Ambs!” People in the shop shouted simultaneously because I’d punched her dead in the face. She swung at me slowly and missed, before just giving up and rushing to the back, cupping her mouth.

I surveyed the shop briefly, witnessing Estella and Sunny smiling, before I grabbed my things and walked out calmly. I texted Salana what I’d done, and she understood. She hated Ambrosia too because she was a shit starter, but she had a lot of clients so Salana liked to keep her around. She told me she’d rather lose her than me though, but to try to stay calm next time.

I placed my phone in the cup holder, turned on the Hunnit Boyz mixtape, and then sped home grooving.

I wasn’t even home for a good fifteen minutes before the ladies showed up, so I turned on the TV, started up Chaz’s Apple TV, and then went to the kitchen to begin opening the snacks. I brought them into the living room, and by that time, the ladies had already chosen a movie, and Melody was passed out on the couch.

“I finally found a place,” Kady said, munching on a cookie.

Since Cassie moved herself and Melody in with Kordell, I moved in with Chaz, and recently Laine and Mischief went big and bought a house, Kady was alone. She refused to pay the $5200 rent for that place we were all staying in, so she started looking. Of course we did the right thing and paid our share for one more month so she wouldn’t have to go immediately, but that month was coming to an end.

“You did? Good. What city?” Laine inquired.

“Carson, by you and Mischief,” she said as she smiled.

“Good! I’m happy we’re all pretty close,” Laine nodded.

Mischief refused to move anywhere but Carson, because it was basically right next door to Compton, just a much better neighborhood. I noticed out here in California, that right next to every shitty neighborhood was usually an upscale or better one not too far away. It was very weird.

“Guess who came by the shop?” I chuckled.

  “Who?” they all exclaimed.

“Jade. Told me her name was Jasmine when she booked an appointment on that little site that I use. But oddly enough, she was cool. She seemed overly happy, like she’d been freed from slavery almost,” I said, making us all laugh.

“Well if she’s as much of a lesbian as Kordell claims she is, then I bet she is happy to be divorced from a man,” Cassie chuckled. Kordell had probably thrown one hundred extras on that story of Jade being caught in bed with a woman. I laughed at the thought.

  “True,” Kady nodded.

“So are you and Ishmael like a real thing?” I frowned.

“Yeah. I was skeptical at first because he told me straight up that he’d never been faithful, but he’s doing good. I went through his phone though while he was asleep, and there was nothing suspicious except for Sammi being on his dick. So I got her address since she couldn’t take a hint from the text messages I’d read and sent for Ishmael. Then, I dropped by her house and told her I’d beat her ass if she didn’t back off. She ain’t texted him since.”

“Girl, you’re crazy as hell. So, no more Nuzi? Thank God!” Cassie put her hands in prayer mode.

“I know. I can’t believe I was allowing him to treat me like that. He’s scary though so after Ishmael checked him, he ain’t do shit but text me to delete his number which I’d done way before he asked me to.” We laughed together. “I just hate that I wasted so much of my life, crying and barely even getting sleep because I was worried about what Nuzi was doing.”

We all shook our heads in silence, I guess, thinking back.

The four of us chilled, talked, and watched movies until a little after midnight since Mischief drove his crazy ass over here to pick Laine up like he was her daddy. She was rolling her eyes, but I knew she liked it.

Laine was a pistol, so she liked rough, unhinged, irrational niggas like Mischief. Tarik tried to be that way, but half the time Laine was whooping his ass, even when he fought back. I swear poor Tarik was in abusive relationship. I chuckled, remembering.

  Around 2am…

I was still up, but in the bedroom binge watching Stranger Things. I’d just found it an hour ago, and hadn’t stopped watching yet.

I heard the front door close, so I climbed out of the bed in my thong and bra set, then went downstairs to see Chaz locking the door. When he turned to see me, he leaned up against the door with a sexy, lazy smile that had my panties wet that quickly.

His tall solid build never got old to me, and neither did his deep caramel complexion and lustrous curly hair. He licked his lips as I walked towards him, and before I even got to him, he yanked me the rest of the way and picked me up, strong enough to hold me with one muscular arm. I locked my legs around his waist as he attacked my collarbone, and smiled as he carried me upstairs. My night… or morning was about to end perfectly… just like him.

  Chapter Ten: Kordell

“I’ll be right back, baby,” I told Cassie as I checked my phone, stopping the reminder I’d set, and replying to Ishmael’s text about our new assistant. I don’t know what the hell Elicia did, but Chaz wasn’t fucking with her so we had to give her, her walking papers.

  “No, I’m going with you!”

“Cass, baby, it’s not time for that yet. And I told you, you could come so I’m not gonna leave you, okay?” I kissed her, and then chuckled because she was pouting.

  “You promise?”

She reminded me of a little ass kid, because they always thought you were trying to leave their asses. Granted, I didn’t want her to come with me on the mission later, but she wouldn’t take no for answer, and to avoid an argument, I agreed.

“Yeah, I promise. Be ready when I get back.”

  She nodded as I left.

I made it down to my dummy car with blacked plates, started it, and then sped off towards my destination, which was all the way in Marina Del Rey. I arrived at Miles’ apartment a couple minutes early, which I was thankful for because it was a bit of traffic on my way over. I’d predicted that though, which is why I’d set the reminder.

After sitting in my car for a little bit, I saw Miles drive up into the parking garage, so I followed right behind him since I didn’t have a code. I’d been watching him ever since the judge ruled in Cassie’s favor, because I wanted to have a little talk with his bitch ass. He and I had a lot of fucking problems that needed some muthafucking solving ASAP.

While he bullshitted, sitting in his vehicle still, I put on some gloves, a ski mask, and some shoe covers, then stuffed my dreads into my hoodie. I waited until he got out of the car, and then when he got on the elevator, I took the stairs. He knew what I looked like and I didn’t want him seeing me too fucking early. I had on a ski mask, but that was mainly for the camera. A person up close may still be able to tell your identity.

By the time I made it to his floor, I saw him sticking his key in, so I came up behind him and pressed my gun to his back.

“My wallet is in my briefcase.” He threw his hands up.

“Get inside,” I gritted, pushing him in since he’d unlocked it already.

I came in behind him and locked the door. Pulling the forms I needed him to sign from my back pocket, I said, “I need you to sign something for me.” I lifted my ski mask jus
t enough.

“Kordell? Sign what? You’re in my apart—”

“Ah ah ah, shut the fuck up and find a pen before I shoot yo’ ass.” He just stared at me so I yelled, “Find a fucking pen!!” Removing the safety from my gun.

He quickly dug in his pocket and removed this clear case, before retrieving an expensive looking pen. I walked over to him, and pushed him down into one of his bar chairs, before placing the documents on the bar.

“Wha-what is this?” He clutched the pen, eyes scanning the document.

“I need you to sign over your rights so I can adopt Melody.”

“What? No! I will not— ahhhhh! Okay, okay, okay, okay!” On his non-writing hand, I snapped his fingers back until they cracked and he let out a scream that had me wondering what gender he was, before begging in a high-pitched voice.

Still holding his broken fingers back while he whimpered, I gritted, “Sign the shit.”

“Please don’t do this shit, man,” he cried.

I slowly placed the gun to his head, and started counting down from seven. I chose a random ass number because I knew it’d make him more afraid. He quickly signed every page needed, and after I inspected it, I went across his head with the gun. He tumbled out of the bar seat, falling to the floor, and I gathered the documents, pulling back down my mask before leaving.

When I got in my car, I texted Carla, Cassie’s mom, from my burner number to let her know the mission was accomplished. She told me to leave them in my mailbox, and she’d come by to get them as soon as I let her know that Cassie and I were gone. She would then take it to Johnathan so he could file it.

I quickly sped back to my crib, and parked my dummy Corolla a few streets over, then jogged back to my crib. I quickly changed while Cassie was in the bathroom, and once she came out, we left to handle another nigga that had pissed me off.

Cassie and I sat there in my car, watching from afar as some of Mischief’s homies from TTP stood outside waiting on Jude. That nigga thought I was playing about dropping them charges. I couldn’t do too much before, but now that he and Cassie no longer worked together, he was fair game. Gone were the days where I was hesitant about fucking with him, in fear of him fucking with Cassie. She had a new manager, a better one at that, leaving me all the room in the world to let this nigga know I meant business.

“I can’t believe I came,” Cassie commented, sitting in my passenger seat. Without looking, I reached over and grabbed her small hand into mine.

“Because we’re like Bonnie and Clyde.”

I’d told her ass she didn’t have to come but she insisted on the shit. And since Melody was with her grandma right now, I agreed to let her come along. Shit, I wasn’t about to let an argument fuck up my night.

We both perked up once we saw Jude come out of that house in Woodland Hills, and then freeze upon seeing the bangers I’d sent over there. I saw them start to shove him in different directions, prompting Cassie and I to crack the fuck up.

“Shh, shhh, shh!” she said, laughing.

“He can’t hear us!” I grinned, shaking my head at her weird ass.

I watched them fuck with him a little longer, until he appeared to be begging. A smile crept across my face, and once Jude was inside his car and speeding off, I waited for the guys to climb back into the big black Chevy Suburban with blacked out plates. We both pulled off, and I led them to my old apartment because I didn’t need them crazy niggas knowing where the fuck I lived. Shit, I barely wanted Mischief’s psycho ass knowing where I lived.

“Good looking out,” I said, dapping the four dudes up, one dressed in red khakis, all of them in white t-shirts, and two of them wearing red bandanas tied around their heads. It was obvious what hood they were from, and bold too, to be out here in Long Beach looking like that, since it was a Crip infested city. “What did Jude say?”

“Said he was gonna drop the charges. We told him we’d be back, and if we had to come back we were killing his ass. He’d be stupid to snitch, but I don’t think he will.”

  “Cool, cool. Thanks again.”

“No problem, my nigga,” one of them replied as I peeled off five twenties for each of them, totaling in four hundred dollars. “Your girl is pretty. What’s yo’ name?”

“Cassie Reid. I seen her ass on the gram before. A commercial too, for some lip shit,” one of the bloods replied to his friend.

“Hey,” Cassie replied shyly, hugging me from behind as I put my wallet up.

“Aight, see y’all.” I dapped them all up once more, and then Cassie and I pretended to enter the building like we lived there, and waited for them niggas to leave. “Come on.” I grabbed her hand and kissed her lips softly as we made it back to the car.

“You think he’s gonna drop it?” she questioned as I pulled off.

  “Yeah, I do.”

She leaned over to kiss the corner of my mouth, and then slipped her hand into mine.

  That Friday night… Around 9:30pm…

Mischief, Chaz, Ishmael and I had been scoping our old home for the past week, trying to find a weak spot of the house to enter from. Once we found a vulnerable point, we concocted a plan to off my dad for good.

He didn’t do shit but fuck this family up, and honestly, he was the root of most of the problems. Not blaming him for whatever my mother was going through, but she didn’t start being the weirdo she was until he began running the streets hard and never being home. Then when he became this big time kingpin, it just got worse; she got worse.

“Aight, come on, and make sure y’all shut the fuck up!” Mischief hissed once he heard Ishmael and I laughing. I don’t know whose idea it was to smoke before we did this shit, but it was a horrible one.

The night security only guarded the front of the house, unlike the morning and afternoon security who usually surrounded the place, unless my dad called them off. We came through the big forest like area on the side, avoiding running into the guards who were at the front.

The side of the house had two wooden double doors, and I remembered from when I was younger and used to sneak in and out, I would go through there. The trick was that only one of the double doors actually had knobs and locks, so if you put pressure on the middle where the doors meet, they’d both open, even if locked.

Mischief, Chaz, and Ishmael stood back as I got through the door, and then quickly typed in the security code on the alarm; shit hadn’t changed for three years. Thankfully, the beep was low, so it didn’t wake anyone as it waited to be disarmed.

Once all of us were inside, I closed the door gently and locked it, just in case. Mischief, Chaz, and I crept up the stairs, headed to the bedroom that my parents used to share. My mother usually slept in the den these days, or in the guest bedroom, but not with my father.

“She’s in there,” Ishmael called from the bottom of the stairs, referring to my mom being in the den. My brothers and I nodded, so he jogged up the stairs to join us.

We entered the bedroom quietly, and I spotted the gun my dad had sitting on his dresser. As soon as I pulled the covers back, Chaz sacked him with a reusable grocery bag, and we all sucked our teeth at his ass.

“Nigga, this was all I fucking had aight? Erynne threw away the original one,” he spoke lowly but harshly, and then nodded for Mischief to take the next step, just as my dad started to flail.

  WHAM! WHAM!

Mischief cracked him over the head with his Glock, and then we carried his big ass out of the room and towards the stairs.

“Why is this nigga so got damn heavy?” Ishmael fussed.

“I’m about to have back problems for the rest of my damn life,” I commented. “Makes no sense for a muthafucka to be this big,” I said, making them chuckle lowly.

We got him down the stairs, taking a few breaks every now and again, and then kept going until we finally got his ass outside. Creeping back through the garden area with his ass and trying to be quiet at the same time, was a muthafucking STRUGGLE. We finally got him t
o the truck parked down the way, and put him into the back, before hopping in and pulling off, breathing like some asthmatics. None of us were small, and it still took the four of us to carry my father. That should let you know how big that muthafucka was.

We drove him to his warehouse, and Ishmael parked the truck around back.

“Let me go get that roller shit I’ve seen inside because I ain’t carrying his heavy ass again.” I climbed out the car and jogged in.

Once I located the shit with wheels that transported big shit, I came back out with it and we put his ass on it, letting his feet drag on the ground and shit. Nigga was about to die anyway so what’s a little bit of dirt on his feet. Muthafuckas were black on the bottom already.

We tipped him off the side and tied his hands behind his back, and around this wooden pillar inside the warehouse. By the time he started to come to, we were dousing his ass in gasoline.

“What? What the fuck are you niggas doing!!!” he roared, trying to free himself as Chaz and I finished with the last two cans. Took five to cover his ass completely.

“You awake now, dad?” Ishmael cocked his head, prompting my father’s lips to slightly part. “Yeah, my mom told me. But you’ll never be my father, thank God.”

“Kordell, son, come on, don’t let them do this shit. Don’t let them convince you to do this, son,” my dad pleaded with me.

He knew I was the one that cared a little more about him and my mom, so he would always aim for me when he was trying to get an ally out of us. Shit wasn’t gon’ work this time though. From getting me arrested in order for me to miss my show, all the way to impregnating and convincing Brooke to pit me and my brother against each other, I was done with this nigga.

“Fuck you,” was all I said.

“Any last words?” Mischief quizzed, as Chaz stood there unbothered. Chaz cared the least, and was only here because he wanted to have a part in getting rid of the nigga.

“I hated you the most, little nigga,” my dad sneered. “Trying to fuck yo’ own mother. My wife!”

Ishmael, Chaz, and I snapped our necks to look at Mischief, noticing his face turn from being calm to angry with the quickness.
