Single Daddy In The Club (Baby Daddies Book 1)

I held on to one of her butt cheeks. I love the way that they were curved and she had the perfect hourglass figure. The type that could turn a man on just by her wearing sweats. She didn’t need to dress up or wear anything fancy. Nia was a natural beauty, and right now, I knew that she was all mine. All over again.
I felt as if something animalistic was burning inside of me as I started to fuck her harder. I knew that any minute, her pussy would turn from hugging my cock like a glove to a limp one as I would explode inside of her. I wanted to savor the moment a bit longer.
“Oh, yes!”
Nia screamed as I started to move faster and I knew that I was close. She was also coming for me once again. I couldn’t help but groan, and then her body clenched around me. Fuck, it was incredible the way that our bodies were in sync. I plunged deeper inside of her and then with that one movement. I started to jerk. My come exploded inside of her, and I knew right there and then, that she was mine again.
She wanted me as much as I wanted her and now that I had a taste, I was going to keep coming back for more.
Chapter Six
Nia
I was sweating and half-naked in the hall. The one that I held the single moms’ group. The one that I had been running for the last two years. And now Hunter had just come back into my life again. As if nothing mattered. As if we could just pick up where we started from. Things didn’t work out that way. Life wasn’t like that.
I pushed him away from me.
“Hunter, you can’t just do this.” He moved and then I reached to get my bra off the floor. Then I looked for my shirt, which he had thrown on the table.
“Nia, we need to talk.”
That was where he was wrong. He pulled up his pants, but I wasn’t fast enough. Shit, I was never fast enough. I didn’t want to do this, I never did. He was the sports guy. The one that had all the girls after him. And I was just plain Nia. The one that lived in a trailer, and who everyone in his family thought that he was too good for me. I was just the wrong girl that he took pity on and let me hang out with him.
I was going to show them all, that what we had was love. I was the girl that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Until that day, until I made that stupid decision and I’ve lived with it.
“What we had was nice.”
“Nice?”
He was holding my hand and wanting me to look at him. To say something about it being the best sex that I’ve ever had. Every single time with him felt amazing, but I couldn’t stroke his ego. I had a son at home. One that I had to look after and between working nights at the call center and mom looking after Alex when I was at the meeting, I had nothing to talk about nor time to do so.
Not with him.
Not now.
“Hunter, you managed to spoil my single moms’ group,” I was smiling and trying to brush away the moment that we had. Make him move on once and for all. I was trash. His mom had told me that. She didn’t need to tell me what I already knew about myself.
It was why I tried to dress smart every day to make myself feel better. Sometimes it worked, and sometimes I just felt like a fraud.
“You’ve got money. I’ve got none. You’ve got a daughter. I’ve got a son. We’ve got nothing in common.”
I could see in his eyes that he was shocked by my revelation. His silence and lack of protest told me that he wouldn’t say anything. I tried to put my hair in some order, and then the caretaker walked in.
“Everyone’s gone already. That was quick,” the caretaker smiled as he gave me a wave.
Looking at Hunter, I raised an eyebrow and smiled, the fake one. The one that told him that I wasn’t bothered, that what just happened was nice, but it certainly wasn’t going to happen again.
“We need to get out of here.”
That he was pissed was evident as he slowly did up his belt. He did it while focusing his eyes on me. Those same blue eyes that used to reassure me that we would be together forever and I believed him. He had a future, and he used to tell me about it all the time, and I felt part of the equation for a while.
I fought back the tears thinking about how he told me that he had forgiven me and understood my desperate act. He never did, because there was only one person that he ever cared about and it wasn`t me.
It was himself.
He took a deep breath and said, “Thanks for the fuck!”
Loud enough for Mr. Wile to hear and horrible enough for the tears that I had been holding on to for so long, to let loose. He left me standing there like an orphan on open day in the orphanage. All the other kids were picked, and they were going to be adopted. I was the only one that was left. Because no one wanted me. I wasn’t pretty enough or good enough to be chosen, but I didn’t want any man. I just wanted him. And I knew that once again I had done acted stupidly and I was sure that just like last time, he didn’t want me.
I picked up my bag and then thought about the stupid thing that I had done.
Mr. Wile smiled, “The noises you were making. I’m sure he didn’t mean it.”
I returned his smile, and then I realized exactly what he had said, the noises we were making. So, Mr. Wile knew what we were up to and as he winked at me, I wondered if he had just heard us, or if he had seen it too.
I started to pick up my pace and head to the car. The idea of him watching us began to give me the heebie-jeebies. Worse than that, it fucking creeped me out.
Chapter Seven
Hunter
I wasn’t going to let her brush me off as she had done yesterday. She felt the same way that I did, and I wasn’t going to let her deny it. We were going to sit down like adults, discuss the way forward. I saw us taking it slow, and as I pressed the bell, I thought about the way that she reacted to my touch and decided that the only way to do that was to exercise control.
“Daddy, what are we doing here again?”
“Gia, I told you. We're here to visit an old friend. Don’t worry she has a son that you can play with.”
“Oh good, does he like Nancy too?”
I looked down at the Nancy doll that she was holding. I tried to tell her that not everyone liked playing with dolls, but she was four and thought that everyone in the world should love Nancy. The idea that someone didn’t, made no sense to her.
"I don't think so."
“I knew I should have brought Barbie. Everyone loves Barbie because she has Ken.”
I laughed at the idea that because Ken was a man, she thought that Nia’s son, Alex would want to play with him. She started to pout her lips as she let go of my hand and began to caress Nancy as to spare her doll the rejection before they had even met. I felt as if I should tell her that she should caress me too in case Nia rejects me too.
I couldn’t fucking sleep. Everything that happened in the hall felt right, yet Nia had rejected it. I had done my homework before I came. I knew that she was single and that she had been for a while. She was pregnant longer than she was officially married. So, the only thing that was getting in the way was her stubbornness. I had let it get in between us once before. I wasn’t going to do that again.
“Hunter, what are you doing here?” she said as she opened the door. She looked as if she had just gotten up. Her hair was all over her face, and she had on sweats and a shirt.
Before I could even answer, Gia smiled, “To play.”
I looked at Nia and repeated Gia’s words, “To play.”
I waited for her to say something, maybe bringing Gia wasn’t a good idea. At the time, it felt like it was. I would bring my kid, she would have hers, and they would get along, and then we could get past this thing. The blocks that she put up every fucking time I tried to get near to her.
“Oh, well, Alex is sleeping.”
“No, I’m not!” shouted a little voice. He was bouncing up and down, and if I had passed him on the street, I never would have thought that he was Nia’s son. In fact, he looked the complete opposite with his dark hair and matching eyes. He had on a sh
irt which seemed to have been attacked by a paint brush, one too many times. We were hovering at the door, our eyes were locked, and the only movement was Alex in the background. I could tell that he was craving company, just as much as I was craving a moment of her time.
Then her mom, the one who spent one too many nights with different men in town came behind her. She seemed timeless as she greeted me, “Oh, hello, Hunter.”
Her fashion sense hasn't changed, she still dressed as if she was going to a nightclub even though she must have been approaching sixty.
I nodded, “Carol.”
To say that neither of our moms liked the idea of us dating, was an understatement. My mom thought that Nia was too needy and I could do better. Her mom just thought that my family was snobs. We were a bit, but that wasn’t the real reason that her mom hated my family. My dad chose my mom and not her back in high school.
“Yes, we just popped by to see if Alex and Nia wanted to go to the park or something?”
We were cramped in the doorway of her apartment. One of her neighbors walked past and winked at Carol. She hadn’t changed, not only age-wise but by her antics too. She bent down in her leather skirt and asked Gia, “Do you like going to the park?”
Gia nodded, but her eyes were focused on Alex, whereas mine were on Nia.
“Can we come in?” I asked, and then Carol answered for Nia.
“The place is a mess. Can you wait a minute? Let’s clean up a bit.”
“Mom, there’s not exactly much to tidy up.”
I felt as if I was stepping into the middle of something as Carol’s fake smile turned to a frown.
“It’s not a problem. We can just wait downstairs.”
Nia nodded, and without another word, she slammed the door in our face. I could hear the screams from outside and as I took Gia’s hand and led her down the stairs. She said, “Dad maybe the park is a bad idea.”
“Why do you say that?”
“His mom looked angry. Are you sure that she’s your friend?”
I bent down as we reached the bottom thinking that my daughter was too smart for her good. She picked up on everything and anything that was going on. I would stick to telling her the truth. That was the only way to get to the bottom of her question and the only way for me to get what I wanted, Nia.
“Yes, daddy was naughty,” I exaggerated my sigh, “You see, I should have called first to make sure that it was okay.”
“Ah, so they were surprised?”
I nodded, thinking that she was starting to understand what I was saying to her.
“That makes sense. Well, hopefully, we can pick up Barbie and Ken on our way to the park.”
My daughter wasn’t only perspective, but very manipulative. I could tell that she was trying to get me to make it up to her.
“I suppose so.”
She smiled, “Good. See, you’re not such a bad daddy.”
I didn’t know if she was being sarcastic or honest. I hadn’t worked that out with her. I used to brush it off and think that she was only four, nearly five and too young to do that. But just then when she winked at me and started skipping to the car, I realized that she was manipulating me. I knew that I was in trouble in the years to come. Only one person could save me from what was about to happen as she hit the teenage years, Nia. She would put her in her place and probably me too.
***
“Sorry, daddy didn’t call you first,” Gia blurted out before Nia said a word as she started walking towards us.
Nia smiled at her, “Darling, it’s not your fault. Sorry, I was angry earlier.”
Gia beamed back, “It’s okay. Does your sister want to come too?”
We laughed because everyone used to think that Carol was Nia’s older sister and not mom. Mainly because Carol used to insist on her calling her by her first name and not mom.
“Sister?”
“Yes, the one that was in your house.”
“Oh, she’s my mom.”
“Wow, Grandma doesn’t dress like that. She dresses like old people.”
“My grandma doesn’t want anyone to know that she’s my grandma, so she makes me call her by her first name.”
I could see the way that the kids were talking about their lives. That they had more in common than I realized. I turned and saw that Nia was looking at them too.
“I work nights. So, I kind of sleep during the day,” she smiled, and she didn’t have that defensive look. The same one that she had when I left her in the hall. She seemed more relaxed in her jeans and shirt. Something that I hadn’t seen her in since I’d come back.
“Sorry, we woke you up. For some reason, I didn’t think that you worked.”
“You’ve been checking up on me?” She came toward me. Any closer and I could have quickly grabbed her and kissed her like I did back in the hall.
That’s when I was brought back to reality.
“Dad, Alex wants to play with Ken. We need to get home.”
Damn, my daughter was demanding.
“We could just go back to your place?” she whispered as she stood so close.
I turned to face her, thinking that I came to take the kids out and spend time with her so that we could talk. Maybe she was unconsciously flirting with me, but as I put my hand on the arch of her back, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. I could tell that she was thinking the same thing that was I feeling right now. I wanted her just as much now as I had wanted her back in the hall. I knew that at my place, I wouldn’t be able to resist her. No matter how hard I tried.
“Sounds like a plan.”
She put her hand on my arm, “Is your mom there?”
I shook my head, “No, she’s gone to visit my aunt for the week.”
“So, we’ll be alone.”
“With the kids,” I reminded her.
She nodded, “Sure, with the children.”
I knew with that statement as we walked to the car, that she had the same thing on her mind. Besides, I had a live-in nanny, and she could keep an eye on the kids for an hour or two. While I played with Nia and it wouldn’t be with dolls, it would be skin-to-skin, not like back in the hall.
Chapter Eight
Nia
As soon as we entered the house, Gia grabbed Alex’s hand and took him to her playroom. Our one-bedroom apartment that accommodates all of us, felt like a drop in the ocean compared to his house.
“How come your mom’s here? What about her place?”
“Oh, she sold it. You know, when dad died there were too many memories. Besides she’s been helping me with Gia, and she spends more time traveling now that she’s older rather than being here.”
“Makes sense.”
“I don’t mind.”
I laughed, “Living with your mom?”
He took my hand and said, “Yes, why not? I don’t mind female company once in a while.”
I took my hand back shyly, “You were never in short supply of that.” He shook his head, and the mood changed as he started to walk around the room. I could tell that he had something on his mind and I wondered if it was the kids or what I had said about his fan base back in high school? I followed him around the house, but he was going in the opposite direction that the kids went a few seconds ago.
“What about the kids?”
“Olivia’s here, she’ll see to them.”
Then out of nowhere, this young girl popped up.
“Hi, I’m Olivia. Gia’s nanny. Hey, Hunter.”
He smiled at her and then I introduced myself.
“I’m Nia. Pleased to meet you.”
She nodded and then directed to Hunter, “I’ll stay with the kids. Are they in Gia's playroom?”
“I think that's where she was heading. Thanks.”
Once I saw the dark-haired girl that must have been a few years younger than him leave the hallway, I was tempted to ask why he just happened to pop to my house on a Saturday afternoon without an invitation. Even worse, how the hell did he knew whe
re I lived?
“You heard from the girls since yesterday?”
I shook my head and as we moved from the white hallway, where he dropped his phone on the center table and then into the living room. It had a piano in the corner, and then memories of Hunter playing and even saying that he would consider playing professionally entered my mind. It seemed to draw me to it like a magnet as I thought about the times I would come to his house and hear him play. Letting every piece of frustration out on the piano. He could put every part of himself into a piece. Then again, there wasn’t anything that this man wasn’t talented in, especially the way that he used to make me feel in and out of the bedroom.
“No,” I whispered as I thought about what happened yesterday. I didn’t realize that he was now standing behind me.
“Do you want me to play you something?”
Then he sat down and smiled like he used to do before. The smile that used to make me forget about my home life. I had a mom who didn’t even know which one of her past boyfriends could be my dad. A mom that spent her time being social, rather than being a mother. Maybe that’s why she took care of Alex. Part of her felt guilty about my childhood. It was a conversation that I wanted to have with her, but I just never found the right moment.
“A penny for your thoughts?”
I sat down and said, “Remember that song you used to play for me. Whenever I felt sad?”
I was looking at him directly and wondering if he could make me feel that way again. Not the failure that I am, but the woman that I aspired to be. He removed a strand of hair from my face and asked, “Do you feel sad?”
I nodded as a tear escaped my eye and said, “Sometimes.”
He kissed my cheek gently and said, “You should never feel sad Nia Young. You’re too beautiful to feel sorry for yourself all the time.” I couldn’t help but smile as he lifted up the lid and started to play the tune that had no name, and wouldn’t mean anything to anyone else, but it meant everything to me.
