Dynamics (Mists of the Fae Book 7) Page 35

by Jaime Marks

He bit back the urged to laugh but took a moment to try to give Kyle the support he needed. “More like you needed to procrastinate. Just try to give this a chance and hear him out. I know you’re still confused as to how you fit in here and we’re working on that with your duties and training, but this is your family too now, Kyle. In some respects it always has been, and you need to find your place amongst them as well.”

“I know. I’ll catch you later,” Kyle replied trailing off.

Byryn sighed knowing Kyle was right about everything. As worried as he’d been about the conversation it was easier than he’d thought it would be. He didn’t know what Kyle was to him now. Yeah he was his progeny and protégé but he was so much more than that and Byryn actually enjoyed this connection and the closeness that he felt with him. He wasn’t sure why all this was so easy between them now, but it was so why fight it.

He just wished he could prevent him from pushing the issue of his past with Mythos. Kyle’s past was a minefield and opening those doors could tear him apart. When he’d caught wind of what he was planning he’d tried to talk him out of it but Kyle insisted that this had to happen. He couldn’t stop him. All he could do was be there for the fallout afterwards.

He cleared his mind, turning his attention back to Staryana. As he focused on what he intended for her he centered himself. Kyle was right. This was a part of who he was. It always had been. If he was going to walk this path with her he needed to own in.

When he turned she was presented as he’d instructed. Byryn took a minute to admire her beauty and smirked at how hard he was going to use that gorgeous body of hers. She didn’t look up when he approached and he didn’t address her as he began placing a collar and cuffs on her. This was all about putting her in the right frame of mind. After the stunt she pulled this wasn’t about her pleasure and comfort.

When he was finished he grabbed her by the hair, pulling her to her feet, and bent her over the bed. Holding her in position he carefully worked the anal plug back into place. He pulled her back up guiding her into the closet and pushed her back down to her knees. She had gasped on and off but otherwise wisely remained quiet. There were O-rings on her collar that he locked her cuffs to restraining her hands and arms before threading a long strap through her elbows and behind her back attaching it to the ankle cuffs. It forced her to lean back slightly.

He smiled wickedly as he knelt in front of her and sucked her breast into his mouth ignoring her soft gasp. The clamp he squeezed onto her nipple made it pop out just enough and he flicked his tongue over it in approval before turning his attention to the other nip clamping it as well. They were attached by chains to a third clamp that he held up for her to see. Her eyes were wide as she watched him and he could sense her apprehension but she never once complained.

“Spread your legs,” he commanded and she immediately complied despite the look of uncertainty that crossed her face.

Dipping the tips of two of his fingers inside her he spread her slick juices as he teased her clit a few minutes. He didn’t want her too dry but she couldn’t be overly wet either. When he clamped her clit she gasped shifting to try to find a comfortable position. He knew it wasn’t easy. Her restraints forced her to lean back but if she leaned back too far the clamps pulled and she couldn’t lean forward hardly at all.

“I have work to do and since I can’t leave you unattended in this state you will stay here and endure your punishment while I deal with correcting your actions,” Byryn explained in a harsh tone as he slid the vibrator of a chastity belt into her already wet pussy. He locked the belt in place checking to be sure it didn’t add too much pressure to her clit or prevent the clamp from pulling. “I will be calling my brother and you will have to trust that I won’t allow anyone to see or touch you in your vulnerable state. I won’t come back until this part of your punishment is over or you safe word out. Now, do you want a gag to help you stay quiet? I don’t particularly care if Wycelion hears or not but I thought I’d give you the option this time.”

She gasped trying to adjust herself again. “N-no, sir.”

“Are you sure? I don’t plan to make this easy on you, Staryana. If Wyce hears you it’ll be no one’s fault but your own,” he replied keeping his town level.

“I’ll behave sir. I don’t need the gag,” she insisted.

  He smirked. “Alright then.”

Byryn pulled the blindfold from his pocket and slid it over her eyes before turning the vibrator from the belt and the one from her anal plug both to the highest setting. Walking out of the closet he could sense her frustration and determination but smiled at her soft gasps as she tried to keep her reactions in check. He knew she’d be drenched by the time he ended this, but that would work because by then he was going to need to take her hard. Her little noises were going to drive him crazy.

Reaching out he summoned Wyce, requesting he bring the reports from his desk and come to his quarters. He scanned the room to be sure there was nothing he didn’t want seen out in the open and set the closet door, making sure that it was only open a crack. If she fell over or something happened he needed to be able to hear her. He was monitoring her with his essence but really she was bound, helpless, and out of sight. It was important to keep a close eye on her. If he wasn’t capable of feeling every thought and sensation he’d never leave her even this unattended when she was tied up.

The knock sounded and he sensed to ensure who it was before releasing the seals. “Come in, Wyce,” he replied resealing the room once he was inside. “Did you bring the reports from my desk?”

Wycelion handed them to him glancing around. “Here. I thought you were off this morn to spend time with your mate?”

“I need to be available in my quarters for the morning but there are matters that need to be attended to,” he replied nonchalantly as he took the reports leafing through to the one he wanted. The little minx that she was had moved it to the very bottom of the pile. “I hear there was an issue last eve with Talerys?”

His brother leaned against the desk and nodded. “I don’t know what it is, I can’t sense anything, but there is something not right about him, Byryn. I do not care if they say he is free of the Taint and passed being sensed by even our Grandsire. I am telling you, there is something about this entire situation that just feels off. I saw his face, the obsession he has with Astryn. It’s not normal of the Fae and he is definitely not her mate. Her essence only seems to respond to Kyle. It’s easy to see and sense. Perhaps she responds somewhat to you and slightly to the other Sacred Borne but no one else aside from that. What if the Priest has found a new method to taint the Fae and render it undetectable to the Gray?”

Byryn sighed scanning the report. “I won’t deny the thought crossed my mind. I’ll bring it up with Grandsire and Lord Marcus. There may be some way to detect it that I haven’t thought of, or an ability that Marcus has as the King of Light that I don’t know about.” He turned to face him. “Tell me what happened afterwards, when you came to bring your report.”

He crossed his arms studying him a moment as a soft, barely audible moan sounded from the closet. He glanced between the door and Byryn. “She didn’t tell you, did she?”

“Just tell me what happened, Wyce. You’re not being held accountable, but I need to ensure there aren’t any further communication break downs. She’s my mate. It doesn’t matter what she did. I’ll protect her and handle it.”

He glanced to the door again with a smirk but didn’t comment on the quiet panting and gasps that Byryn was sure they could both hear as the vibrators combined with her constant need to shift worked her towards the edge. Wyce’s expression turned serious. “I returned the girls to Astryn’s quarters while Sheyna and Ryo handled Talerys. You and Kyle were in a meeting with Cymeryn, Demytria, Marcus and Grifyn so I summoned Trycen and Gavyn to provide some added coverage for the girls. I went to check on the situation but Alyric had already intervened. He’s a member of the Council.” He shrugged. “They h
ad no right to deny his request but Sheyna voiced concerns. She says Alyric distracted her while Talerys slipped away. We kept a close eye on the both of them for the remainder of the eve. I would have brought the report to you directly but I wasn’t sure I should interrupt. Staryana showed up in your office while I was filling out the report and said to put the report on your desk and she would let you know what happened after the meeting.” He shrugged. “With how connected the two of you are I couldn’t see any reason to not to trust her.”

He nodded. “And you should trust her. She’s my mate and the Princess of Night, but she’s been through a lot and we need to take that into consideration. This wasn’t essentially her fault, though. We need better protocols in place. From now on, any breach of security or threat against the Lucerna Lines, especially to the girls, needs to be reported immediately. Bring it directly to me. I don’t care if I’m in a meeting, interrupt it. If I’m not in the realm or you really believe I’m not approachable at that moment take it to Kyle, Demytria, Grifyn, or Marcus and Cymeryn, in that order of rank. Cavayn will hold the same rank as the Lady Demytria once his appointment is finalized. You won’t be reprimanded for interrupting their meetings. The Royal Court is the only exception, but even that, if you think the Kings of Balance are needed, make the call and we’ll support you. Cymeryn is your Grandsire, too. He knows you don’t act rashly.”

  “Got it.” He nodded.

“Honestly Wyce, I would’ve thought you knew to bring this to me regardless of what I was doing. I assume you felt taking it to my mate was the same as speaking to me so I’ll let it slide because it should have been. I will handle Staryana myself. In the meantime, make sure Trycen’s aware and I’ll put out a formal notice this afternoon.” Byryn turned back to his desk. “I don’t have to tell you to keep this issue with my mate to yourself…or anything you think you may or may not have heard.”

Wyce chuckled, “Your mate is as mine sister, brother. I will always protect her secrets as I do yours from any save you. You’re right. I should have come to you directly and I did feel she had likely already relayed it via your link. The two of you all but share a mind. I took her at her word and discounted recent events but I understand it. I won’t hold this against her but I will be more vigilant.” He glanced back at the closet. “Enjoy the rest of your morn.”

Byryn watched as he left with a knowing smile. He could trust Wycelion to keep his mouth shut. Of all his brothers he’d kept his secrets and protected him over the years. Otherwise he wouldn’t have risked him coming here right now. Besides, Wyce knew he’d never really hurt Staryana and letting him know she was being disciplined for betraying both of their trust would prevent issues between the two of them. He didn’t want his brothers to question if they could trust her.

He resealed the room as he rose and went to the closet watching her as he slid out of his robes. She was struggling to keep herself from leaning back too far as her body trembled. He walked over and grabbed her by the hair holding her steady without a word while keeping his essence restrained from her. With the other distractions she was enduring it would be hard for her to focus to see if it was really him. She would just have to trust him.

He slid his throbbing sex over her lips and she opened tentatively for him. He knew she was feeling vulnerable and exposed but she was meant to. Byryn thrust deeply into her mouth and she relaxed as she gave him complete control, swallowing him like he’d taught her to when he took her mouth like this. Letting his essence flow over her freely he monitored her closely.

“Good girl,” he murmured fucking her mouth hard. “Thank you for trusting I wouldn’t allow anyone else to touch you.”

She moaned around him and he knew her clamps were likely pulling but a punishment wasn’t supposed to be fun for her. It didn’t mean he couldn’t enjoy it though. He fucked her mouth until she gagged and then pushed her head down further on his cock before letting her catch a breath and thrusting in deep again. He let his control slip punishing her until his release shot into her mouth.

“Swallow it,” he demanded shoving her head down hard as she drank him in. “Every drop, Staryana.”

Releasing her he walked back out of the closet, leaving her there to catch her breath while he went back to his desk and sorted through his paperwork. He’d let her stew a little while longer. He had a couple hours before he had to worry about her Dads looking for her. He’d get his work done, enjoy her as he felt the need, and ensure she thought twice before ever pulling a stunt like that again. When he finished he could cherish and caress away the pain as he soothed her aches showing her how much he still loved her. He loved taking care of her and pampering her after he marked his beautiful girl.

  Chapter 32

Kyle sat in the King’s private study glancing around as he cleared his head. It was a lot flashier than either his Dad or Uncle Marcus seemed to prefer. Everything was lavished in gold and jewels. Even the desk was gold topped and the drapes shimmered in similar tones. He wasn’t really sure how to even relate to this Fae.

It was hard to imagine that his Mom had been a Princess considering they lived in a small run down cabin by the lake until her death at Syneous’ hands. At least his Dad, Marcus, and Byryn were more real to him. They were more Warriors than royalty in his eyes. He might be a Priest but it was still something he respected.

He turned to Mythos. “Sorry, that took longer than I thought.”

“Is everything alright? I noticed he and Staryana were struggling this morn,” Mythos requested.

“Yeah, Byryn and Star were discussing how to prevent the issues that occurred last night from reoccurring. He needed my input.”

It was the truth with some major omissions but it wasn’t his place to fill him in. How they dealt with their issues was private. He actually understood how they’d ended up in that dynamic more than he cared to admit. He caught himself falling into it with Astryn at times, though never to that extent.

“I am glad that he has you to confide in and bounce ideas off of. He has been rather distant since your return though I suppose it will take time for all of you to reacclimate.” Mythos breathed deeply watching him, “I wanted to speak with you, Kyle, to discuss the way things have been between us and what Alysse revealed yester noon.”

Kyle frowned trying to figure out how to handle this. “Alright, if you feel you need to, but I’m fine. You don’t have to explain all this to me. As far as I’m concerned it doesn’t change anything.”

Mythos studied him a moment but nodded. “I imagine in many respects the past is not easy for either of us to discuss, but there are some things you should know. I never knew of my sister, but I will admit I perhaps should have. I knew of my Mother’s affair. Our families were always very close and I had seen them together. The rest of the rumors seemed ludicrous, however. There did not seem to be a way for the Queen of the Fae to hide a young in the human realm, and even if there was it was a risk I could not fathom my Mother or Cymarcion taking. Above that, Mother was always very dedicated to us and even the twins. We grew up together on Palace grounds and she took an interest in their lives as she and Melydia, their Mother, had been very close. I could not fathom the idea that she would give up a young,” he shook his head, “but then I was still fairly young myself. I was only a few years older than you when my Mother passed. If I am correct on the timing, Terynia would only have been about three at the time. Cymarcion had passed in a battle with the Shade about the time she was likely born.”

Kyle sighed. He was tired of hearing about what people should have or didn’t know. “If you don’t mind I’d rather not talk about the past. It doesn’t change the way things are and it shouldn’t impact them. We aren’t our parents,” he replied trying to push past the subject.

It didn’t matter what the King thought, fixing things with him wouldn’t bring him any closer to his Mother and he wouldn’t blame Mythos for his Grandparents’ choices. Mythos was little more than a kid himself by Fae standards when the affair occu
rred, if he understood it all. He didn’t really know how old the King was but even if he had been awakened at the time he’d probably have been newly awakened, still coming into his own. No one could’ve imagined hiding a young of the Lucerna Lines on Earth and he’d wanted to believe in his Mother. He couldn’t hold it against him anymore than they could hold Syneous’ actions against him and Star.

“No, I suppose it does not and you are correct, we are not our parents,” Mythos measured him cautiously, “but you are my nephew and I have judged you rather harshly.”

He raised his hand, stopping the course of this conversation. “No, Mythos, you haven’t. You judged me based on my past actions. You felt I posed a threat to your mate and you had every reason to believe I did. Just because I’m suddenly your nephew doesn’t mean I deserve your forgiveness.”

The King shook his head, meeting his gaze with a shrewd eye. “Kyle, just the fact that you feel enough guilt that you do not believe you deserve my forgiveness speaks volumes of how I have misjudged your character. It is true that Redemption changes you, and the awakening is a rebirth, but instead of granting you that renewal I treated you as though you were still ruled by Darkness. I even threw your faults in your face at every turn. I have wronged you in this.”

He huffed, “You didn’t have any reason to believe that I wasn’t. Redemption doesn’t cure the curse of Darkness, Mythos. We both know all it does is balance the essences and give you the freedom of choice. It frees you from Lazurys’ influence and control, but it’s still there. You had no idea what path I would walk.”

“But I did,” he insisted. “Cymeryn is notoriously discerning regarding who he chooses to take as progeny. Even more so now that he has his own young to be concerned for. The fact that he took you so readily under his wing and then went beyond that to Claim you as his own should have told me that you were more than the sum of your past.”
