“I said that you’re more like me than your realize.” Charlotte repeated herself.
Winter shook her head. “Sweet Jesus, please intevervene before it gets too real in here.” She whispered seeing that Rayne was now in her feelings.
“I’m not like you. I’m sitting here trying to empathize with you, because of what you’ve endured over the years. Yet, you’re sitting over there feeding your face and treating me like I’m just some stranger on the streets.”
“That ain’t nothing new,” Winter uttered.
Charlotte could see the anger in Rayne’s eyes. Something she’d never seen, because Rayne always acted as if everything was always all good. “Go ahead and show your grandma how much hell you got in you. Nooooo, because we’re all supposed to think that you’re the happy go lucky one, the loving one, the forgiving one, the hopeless romantic one, the big time superstar…”
“Charlotte,” Winter cut in to stop her.
Charlotte overtalked Winter and continued to prove a point. “You think because you’ve belted out a few notes, and have blinked those pretty, round eyes at him that he loves you? You think because you’re in that nice place in Buckhead, going on shopping sprees and buying furniture,” she said looking around the quaint living room at the new décor. “That you’re going to live the ultimate dream?” she questioned. “Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that’s not going to happen. It doesn’t happen for women like us.”
“No Charlotte, it didn’t happen for you.” Rayne said feeling teary eyed that her mom never supported her in anything; especially not in having a music career.
“And, it’s not gonna happen for you. You just watch and see.” She bluntly said. “Chase Montgomery is not going to marry you. He deals with a lot of women on a daily basis. What makes you stand out from them? What makes you think that he’ll leave his son’s mother to be with you?” She questioned feeling well aware of what her daughter had going on.
“Charlotte,” Winter called out again. “That’s enough now.”
“No, it’s not enough.” Charlotte snapped.
Ms. Summers had sat there long enough letting them bicker back and forth. It was now time for her to cut in as she loudly said, “YES IT IS! Enough is enough!” she called out.
Of course Charlotte kept talking. “If you know like I know you’d keep your legs closed. That’s the only thing that’s going to separate you from the others. Don’t say your mama ain’t never told you nothing, because I just did.” She spat.
Rayne angrily shook her head. “Y’all would try to make my situation like hers when it’s not even close to being the same thing.” She said feeling like she was being teamed up on. “I have a life, a real one and until y’all face the problems that are hindering y’all then I can’t see either of you ever finding peace or getting it together.” She said almost in tears. “I can’t even sit in here no more. I gotta get some fresh air.” She said getting up and walking out.
Chapter 10
Later that night, Chase sat on the edge of the bed inside of his master bedroom suite. He glanced around the room feeling somewhat lost in his feelings of not knowing what to do. He had two women strongly on his mind, and for different reasons he couldn’t shake either of them.
He sighed looking down at the letter that was in his hand. It was from Brooke. He hadn’t seen her since she had caught him at the restaurant with Rayne. He knew that there woud be consequences, but he didn’t think that when he returned home later that night that she’d be gone. This was unlike her and what was even stranger was that he didn’t have a clue where she was at. Seven whole days had passed, but she wasn’t back and he was starting to get sick over it.
“Damn Brooke, what do you have going on?” He uttered as he regrettably shook his head while going back over the letter that she’d wrote.
My Dearest Love,
I know this letter is going to come as a shock to you, but I hope you read this with compassion and understanding of knowing why I’ve decided to leave. I love you, but I don’t feel that my love and your love is the same. We’ve been together for five years, most have been good. However, there have been times when I thought I’d lose you to another. Living like this has never been easy for me.
You see, I was once in love before moving here with a guy that straight up broke my heart. We were inseperable and shared many things together. Our bond was like no other. I thought that everything we had was meant to be. I would’ve never in a million years thought that I would’ve found another to accept me, flaws and all, but he did. Unbelievably, my flaws were actually an even bigger turn on to him. Something I was almost ashamed of. We had a pretty solid relationship. We were open and honest with each other about everything, at least until I found out that he had another. Not only did he start seeing someone after we’d been together for six years. But, he left me to be with her. Nothing hurt worse than that. I gave him my everything. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough.
I know that I’ve never opened up fully about my past, but that’s because I don’t like discussing it. Talking about things that hurt me isn’t something that I’m keen on. I’d rather try to suppress it and move on. The reason why I’m letting you in now is, because I see myself going down that same path with you and I don’t want that to happen. I’ve never been a violent person, but seeing other women around you brings that out in me. I act insecure, because a part of me is insecure. I put a lot out there by getting into another relationship. I even had a child, a son I love to death. For his sake I always hoped that we could grow old together and give him more siblings.
Unfortunately, things aren’t turning out the way I hoped. You don’t look at me the same. That sparkle in your eyes are gone. I hate to admit it, but I feel like I’ve already lost you. There are things that I have to think about and important decisions that I have to make. Learning how to deal with my past and getting over it fully is a part of this process. I love you with you all my heart, but I’m willing to walk away and allow you the love that you so deserve if that is what will make you happy.
I decided to drop Mason off at your mom’s place. I didn’t want to take him with me. I know that you’ll take care of him while I’m gone. I don’t know when I’ll return, but I will soon. Please don’t call me. I’ll be fine. I just have to get myself together.
Kiss my baby every day until I’m back. Love You,
Brooke
Chase found himself regrettably shaking his head over and over again. Reading the letter had him in a choke hold since the first night he read it. There were things mentioned that had his mind racing with thoughts of wanting to know more about her past and more about the guy that walked over her heart. He was the one that initially turned on that insecure switch and now it was hard for her to turn it off. It was because of those insecure moments that ultimately pushed him away. She was right, the sparkle in his eyes were gone. He didn’t feel the same about her, but that didn’t mean that he didn’t want the best for her. She was the mother of his child and he wanted nothing more than for her to be good. As he sat there lost in thought his phone rang bringing his unconscious mind back to reality.
He looked down at it and smiled while picking it up to answer it. “Hey Love,” he spoke.
“Hey baby,” Rayne spoke back. “What are you doing?”
“Just sitting here thinking,” he responded still looking at the letter.
“Brooke hadn’t come back, yet?” Rayne questioned aware of the fact that she had gone MIA.
“Nah,” Chase sadly spoke.
Rayne hated hearing him sound so down. With Brooke showing up to the restaurant, and then disappearing it throwed a monkey wrench in his plans of leaving her. Rayne couldn’t very well move on with him while Brooke was somewhere still lingering in her feelings. One thing Rayne was sure of was that when she returned it would be to Chase and that’s when she’d really see where his heart was at.
“She is coming back. You do know that right?” Rayne questioned in ho
pes of just making him feel a little better.
“I know. I just hate that whatever she’s going through she’s going through it alone. It must’ve been hard for her to leave Mason behind to get herself together. I just hope that when she comes back she’s strong enough to face the fact that my heart isn’t with her anymore and that I feel it’s time for us to move on.”
“Are you sure that you’re ready to move out and live life as a single man?” Rayne questioned with a soft giggle.
“Technically, I won’t be single.” He said with a light chuckle.
“Right,” she agreed. “I just wanted to see what you were going to say.”
“I just wish that we could get this over with. Brooke may not wanna let go so easy.”
“I’m prepared for that, but as long as you stand your ground then we should be good.” Rayne told him. She’d been in her feelings since Brooke left. Chase had made promises that he couldn’t very well keep simply, because of Brooke’s unexpected actions.
Chase turned up the 1800 Tequila that he was drinking with a splash of cranberry juice. “Well, what are you doing tonight?”
“Winter is taking me out. I need it after talking with Ma and Charlotte earlier today. My family is one of a kind. I understand that people go through things, but they should never let whatever bad that came their way determine their future.”
Chase smiled. This was one of the things that he loved about Rayne. She was so free spirited and positive. She was understanding and full of love. “Damn babe, I can’t wait to call you my girl. We’re going to make great hit songs, build an empire, live like the wealthy, and have babies.”
Rayne smiled. “So, you want more children?”
“I do,” he said almost blushing. “With you.”
“You wouldn’t leave me if I got pregnant by you?” She asked with thoughts of what Charlotte and her grandmother was talking to her about earlier in the day.
“Leave you?” he questioned. “That’s for pussy’s. That’ll just make me marry you quicker.”
Rayne blushed. “Aww, don’t make promises you can’t keep.”
“It’s only one way to find out.” He said emptying his glass as he swallowed the rest of what was in it.
“Enjoy your night out with your sister.”
Rayne smiled. “I will.” She said wishing he could come over once she’d made it home.
“I wish I could come over and see you afterwards.” He said like he could read her mind.
Damn, me too. She thought with a soft giggle. “We better be good. If I got liquor in my system and you have liquor in your system.”
“Here we go,” he cut in with a chuckle.
Rayne laughed, but kept talking. “And we’re sitting around playing footsie and kissing; what you think gon’ happen?”
“Nothing is gonna happen.” Chase said laying back on the bed.
“I know nothing is gonna happen. That’s why you’re not coming over.” She said with sarcasm. She was determined to make sure that Brooke was out of his system before she gave in to sex.
“Okaaaaaaay,” he dragged.
“You sound ‘bout fucked up anyway.” She told him.
“I’ve had my fair share of shots tonight,” he admitted.
“Well, slow down. I know you’re a little concerned about Brooke, but she’ll show up when you least expect it.”
“Good, then we can settle this thing and come to some of kind of terms so that I can move on.”
She blushed. “You just made me smile.”
“That’s what I wanted to do,” Chase said. “Oh, before we hang up, do I need to come get you in the morning for your studio time?”
“No, Winter is staying the night and so I’ll get her to drop me off.” Rayne said.
“Okay, well since I can’t see you tonight.” He said with a big pout. “I’ll see you in the morning.”
Rayne laughed. He was such a big baby when he wanted to be. “I’ll see you in the morning.” And with that, they ended their call.
***
Brooke sat at the table inside of Indigo’s, a laid back restaurant club feel where the more sophiscated, grown and sexy people partied at. She was itching while sitting at her table scoping out the sexy men that sat at the bar.
“Damn,” she whispered. It was eye candy everywhere. Her hormones were out of control. She wanted to fuck and she wanted to fuck bad. Somehow the electric, rabbit dildo that she’d bought, along with the silver bullet, and the oils and ointments, and anal beads had kept her pretty content. She’d been using one or the other, at least, 4 times a day. Being a sex addict was like having a full time job. It was long maintenance of pure pleasure. All in a day’s work.
She found herself pulling up her short red dress, much closer to her private parts. She looked around the bar, catching the attention of a man dressed in an expensive suit and tie. He was definitely handsome as he smiled at her. Brooke smiled back as her finger slowly creeped inside of her black lace panties. Luckily, underneath the table was much darker than the array of lights that shined above her or the man would’ve really gotten an eye full.
“Damn,” she whispered. The adrenaline was pumping through her body causing explosion after explosion. Even though she wanted to lay her head back and open her legs from east to west, she couldn’t. She held her composure while only smiling seductively; closing her eyes every now and then like she’d become a pro at this over the years. The man licked his lips as he looked at her. Brooke pulled her fingers out of her panties, and then placed the one that she was fingering herself with inside of her mouth. She softly pulled on it with her red hot lips that was covered with red lipstick. The more she sucked on her finger, the hotter she got.
Thoughts of Chase crossed her mind. She’d been thinking about him heavily, but she fought off going back home. She refused to be known as the main bitch that turned to the side bitch. She was no dummy. She saw the chemistry between Chase and Rayne. Anybody could see it and that within itself made her sick on the stomach.
“Fuck this,” she whispered as she stood up. She headed toward the women’s restroom in the back of the restaurant. She winked at the guy sitting at the bar as she passed him. She rushed inside the women’s restroom and opened the door. She wallked in and immediately checked to see if anyone was in the stalls. No one was there. She took in a relieved deep breath, and then let it back out.
“Hey beautiful,” a guy said as he entered the bathroom. Brooke smiled as she locked the bathroom door shut behind him. She gracefully headed towards the bathroom sink in a black pair of Louboutins. He admired her sexy, smooth legs as she made it over to the sinks while now looking at her reflection in the mirror.
She pulled her red dress up above her waist. The red thong she had on looked scrumptious to the man as he walked over to her and slapped her on the ass.
“Mm…mmm,” she moaned feeling an intense sentation from him groping her from behind and kissing aggressively on her neck. He rubbed up and down her flat, smooth stomach, and then slipped his fingers inside of her thong. She was freshly waxed with a strip of hair running down the middle of her pussy. This turned him on as the juices spewing from her well wet his fingers.
“Damn,” he whispered.
“Yessssss,” Brooke said watching him unfasten his slacks. She seductively stared in the mirror, hardly able to recognize herself. She had on a short blonde wig with hazel contacts. Nothing about it looked like something she’d rock, but it was definitely something that her alter ego would rock. The hot, red lipstick matched perfectly with her hot, red fitted dress by Alyce.
The guy massaged her breasts, causing Brooke to moan. He bent her over and slid his erect dick inside of her warm, inviting pussy. As he stroked her walls, the creamy goods from within began to cover his shaft. It was amazing to her as she played with her clit, feeling him fill her up in every sense of the word.
“Damn, I’ve missed this,” she whispered. The harder she played with her clit the harder the man beat
it from behind. Brooke jerked and moaned. “I’m cumin’,” she softly whispered as she exploded all over him.
BOOM… BOOM… BOOM…
The sound of someone knocking at the bathroom door startled Brooke as she opened up her eyes. She stared at herself in the mirror, realizing that she was alone in the restroom and having flashbacks of many prior engagements such as that.
“Hey, is somebody in here?”
“Uh, Yeah. One moment,” Brooke responded as she quickly washed her hands. She grabbed a papertowel on the way out of the restroom and unlocked the door. The first girl flew inside the restroom.
“You weren’t shittin’ in here were you?” the woman asked with a light chuckle.
Brooke glanced back at the female with a frown. “Nah, just a little bit of vomitting.” She lied as she kept her head down.
“Rayne,” the girl from the stall called out.
Brooke’s eyes widened as she and Rayne brushed up against each other as she exited the bathroom as Rayne entered it. The stare was very brief as Brooke quickly looked away and made her exit out of the restaurant all together. Rayne looked back to watch the woman leave with curiousity in her eyes. She shook it off and continued walking into the restroom.
“What do you want?” She asked Winter as she heard the toilet flush.
“I was just seeing if you were behind me.” Winter responded.
Rayne stared at herself in the mirror. The familiar looking face had almost taken her by surprise. Winter walked out of the stall and started primping in the mirror next to her sister.
“What is that perplexed look about?” Winter questioned her.
“I don’t know.” Rayne answered shaking her head with befuddled eyebrows. “I just thought I saw a familiar face.” She said as her eyes followed back over towards the restroom door. “I thought it was someone I’d met before.”

Brooke was totally caught off guard running into Rayne at her lil hide out spot. She was relieved that all she’d had were thoughts of another man while masterbating inside the restroom or she would’ve been busted. With the wig and the contacts in, she doubted if Rayne made out who she was, but it was certainly a close call.
