He was so pleased with himself, but she felt so bad she couldn’t bring herself to go there again. Instead, she made the excuse that she was too busy at the vet surgery. She was relieved when he’d left to go home.

“That’s awful. I feel bad now,” Kerry said, with a frown.

“Never apologize for having mind-blowing sex every night,” Raven replied. “You got lucky.”

“In more ways than one,” Ava winked, and the girls laughed again.

“Anyway, enough with the sex talk, I’m starving,” Leila announced getting up of her bed. “Let’s go grab lunch.”

The girls had gotten as far as the water bridge that ran over the brook, when Raven heard her name being called out.

  Beck.

They turned in the direction of his voice to see him walking with a couple of his friends.

  Raven’s jaw dropped.

The asshole had somehow managed to get even better looking over the summer. It wasn’t fair.

His hair was freshly cut, a little longer on the top, his jaw had become even more defined and by some sweet miracle he’d developed even more muscle lumps than she thought was possible.

His jeans hugged his hips, and the sleeves on his blue tee hugged his biceps as the rest fell just right on his obvious perfectly shaped pecs.

Her brain momentarily scrambled until he opened his mouth.

“Hello, Raven. I hear you’ve been playing with pussies over the summer?”

“What?!” she yelled, the other girls gasped whilst his friends chuckled under their breath.

“You know, the kind that purr,” he said with too much emphasis on the ‘purr’ as a slimy grin stretched across his face.

“Beck, I’m not going to even dignify that with an answer,” she growled.

“Aww. I was hoping you could fill me in on how you helped the banged up pussies? Or did you have your own to stroke?”

He was being disgusting and he knew she hated when he spoke like that to her. Especially with an audience.

She was tired of his filthy talk.

“You know what, Beck? Yes I did. I stroked all of the pussies and when they were purring like crazy, I went and did the same to the bitches.”

  Silence; from both sides.

There was a split second where he looked surprised, but he recovered quickly. His smile only got wider, and he licked his lips.

  Oh shit.

“Well, well Raven. Talking like that makes me wanna put that dirty mouth some good use.”

“Go away, Beck. You’re boring me already.”

Raven turned away from him, and the girls walked with her.

“Come on Raven!” he called out. “I meant you could help me with my oral exam!”

“Don’t retaliate, Ray. He’ll only come back worse,” Ava murmured to her, her arm around her shoulders.

“The first day!” Raven groaned. “He had to do that on the first fucking day back.”

“Did you guys not notice that Beck has somehow gotten even hotter?” Kerry asked, all eyes snapping to her. “What? I’m just saying he looks fucking gorgeous.”

“Sorry, Ray, but it’s true. He’s matured well since the break,” Ava apologized.

“I swear, Ray,” Leila added, shaking her head. “I think you’re going to have a tough time resisting him this year.”

“Girls, Beck is the biggest man-tramp around here. He might be insanely attractive, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to drop my panties for him. He’s been talking that way to me since day one, and it hasn’t gotten me anywhere near fired up yet, so I think I’m pretty safe from his advances.”

The girls passed a look to each other.

  “What?”

“Ray, you could’ve just said ‘no way’. What the hell was that speech?” Kerry asked.

“I didn’t mean to snap. I’m just angry that he couldn’t even give me the first fucking day back in peace. Just this one!”

Raven could feel herself tearing up and the girls dropped the subject and went into the food hall for lunch.

  *****

It didn’t matter that the girls had sat in a quiet area of the food hall. Beck and his friends managed to get a table right in Raven’s line of sight. It was as though Beck had done that on purpose. It wouldn’t surprise her. She’d had four weeks without him. Why would she think he’d wait until making the first sexual suggestion to her?

Raven took a deep breath and looked down at the table at her food. She couldn’t even remember asking for the banana for after her sandwich.

There was no way she could eat that within his view and not get a response from him. No matter how she did it, he could easily turn it on its head, so to speak.

Raven looked to Kerry as she sat in front of her and risked a side glance to Beck.

Just to see what he was up to; of course.

He was smiling and joking with the other guys.

  He had a great smile.

A smile that lit up his whole face, with a set of teeth a dentist would be proud of. He looked boyish and actually sweet. She knew better. Lurking behind that facade was a filthy mind with an even dirtier mouth.

He noticed her looking, and she quickly dropped her head down.

A low chuckle got her attention.

Looking back up, she saw him hold a doughnut up to his face, and he was sticking his tongue through the center, swirling it around.

“Oh my God, what is he doing?” Ava whispered from next to her, after snorting a laugh. “I’m sorry, Ray but that is kinda funny.”

“Let’s see how funny he thinks this is,” Raven replied, with all the girls waiting to see what she was about to do. It was the second time that day that he’d done something like that, and she wasn’t going to let him get away with it that time.

Keeping eye contact with Beck, Raven picked up her banana, and rested her elbows on the table. Holding it up in front of her, she slowly peeled the skin back.

Beck lowered the donut, his eyes watching her every move. Especially when Raven licked her lips before bringing the banana to her mouth.

She watched as Beck’s jaw slackened as she parted her lips, ready to take the banana into her mouth.

The guys turned to see what he was staring at, and the girls were stifling their giggles.

“Do it,” Ava whispered next to her, and Raven opened her mouth wider.

Instead of taking the banana seductively into her mouth, Raven bared her teeth and clamped down.

The girls burst out laughing as the guys hissed and cringed.

Beck narrowed his eyes, his lips turning up in the corners; a slow smile spreading.

“Uh oh,” Leila said, turning back round from watching the guys’ faces twisting in imagined pain. “I think he’s planning on a comeback.”

“He can plan all he wants,” Raven replied. “I’m tired of his crap.”

“What are you going to do?” Kerry asked, glancing back at Beck who was still smiling at her.

  Raven had no idea.

She wasn’t good at preplanning her responses, because she never knew what Beck was going to say, or do, next.

“Are you finally going to go to the Dean?” Ava’s question brought Raven out of her thoughts.

  “And say what?”

“That he’s been sexually harassing you,” Ava whispered.

“No. For everything that he’s done, and will probably do, I don’t want him to get into trouble,” Raven said, dropping her head in resignation. “If anything goes on his record, it could jeopardize his career opportunities.”

It was no secret that Beck’s family owned a few businesses. That was the whole point of him taking his major in Economics; so he could fit right in with his dad and take over someday. Having that over him might ruin it.

If Raven complained -the only person to have a problem with him- would not only get him in trouble with the college and his family, but she would also be pointed out for it.

Her college days would be made hell by many mor
e than just the one person.

She could deal with Beck on her own. The rest of campus? Not so much.

Beck was well aware of that too.

“You’ve got great legs, Raven,” Beck said as she walked by in her shorts.

It was a hot day at the start of Sophomore year, and the students were lounging about on the grassy areas with their lunches.

Raven turned to look in his direction and saw that he was looking at her bare legs appreciatively. The way he smiled as he was letting his eyes roam over her told her that he wasn’t done with his statement.

“They’d look even better wrapped around my waist.”

“Oh my God, don’t you get tired of hearing yourself?” Raven snapped. “It’s getting old now, Beck. I don’t know how many times you can say the same thing and still think it’s funny.”

“How about if they were wrapped around my head? Is that better?” he smiled. “That would be first anyway, then I could slip them down to my waist, and then…”

  “You’re unbelievable!” she shrieked.

“You’re supposed to say that after,” he grinned.

“You know what? I’m not going to stand for this anymore. If you’re not going to stop, then I’m going to have somebody make you stop.”

  That got Beck’s attention.

He stood up from the chair he was lounging on, and walked right up to her, his size overwhelming as he looked down on her.

Her pulse increased, and her breath hitched when got into her space.

“Are you going to tattle on me, Raven?” he asked with a smirk.

“If it gets you to leave me alone, then I will,” she replied as confidently as she could without showing just how nervous she was with him so close to her.

“And what do you think will happen?”

His eyes were laughing at her as his smirk turned into a full blown grin.

“You’ll be made to stop. They’ll file sexual harassment against you.”

His smile dropped, his eyes turned to stone and he came closer than ever; his clean smell tickling her nose. He smelled so good, and his nearness had her knees trembling. She told herself it was just because he was so tall, but truthfully, it was because he was devastatingly attractive.

Muscle lumps in all the right places, dark hair, and eyes that when he looked at you, made it seem that everything but you didn’t exist.

Now he was looking at her like she was amusing him with her stupidity.

“How, exactly, am I harassing you, Raven?” he folded his arms across his broad chest and Raven couldn’t help but flick her eyes to that area.

“You say inappropriate things, constantly, you always look me up and down like I’m a piece of meat, and you always refer to ‘number five’ on your list as being the best thing that will ever happen.”

Beck laughed after her rant and shook his head, still chuckling.

“Oh Raven. Do you know why I do those things?”

She shook her head ‘no’. “I don’t care, but I want you to stop.”

“Well, I’ll tell you anyway,” he said, holding his fingers up to count his reasons. “One: I say that stuff because, believe it or not, it’s actually funny; you need to get a sense of humor. Besides, no other girl complains. They seem to like it; a lot. Two: I look at you like that because you’re actually hot. Lots of other guys look at you like that, and yet you say nothing to them. Three: Number five will be the best thing to happen.”

“I’m leaving,” Raven snarled and turned on her heel to walk away.

She felt the tug on her arm when Beck gripped her, turning her back to face him. She didn’t expect the shock it gave her when she felt herself flush.

“You’re seriously going to complain to the Dean?” he growled.

Without answering, Raven pulled her arm from his grip and walked towards the main building.

  “Raven!” he yelled after her.

A few more feet and Raven risked a glance over her shoulder.

Beck was standing with his hands behind his head, his eyes closed, and his face up to the sky.

The strange thing was, she expected to see him full of anger, possibly glaring at her, and even so much as trying to go after her. What she didn’t expect to see, was the sad look when he opened his eyes.

She turned back to see where she was going, and continued on to the Dean’s office.

“Why the fuck did you go to the Dean?” Donnie spat, making Raven almost jump out of her seat in fright. She’d been sitting on the bench in the hallway waiting for Ava. “Do you know what that’s going to do to Beck?”

“I…” Raven began, but Donnie didn’t let her finish before he started on her again.

“He’ll get a fucking smear across his family’s name, his dad’ll kick his ass for it, and he could be thrown out of college!” he yelled, getting too close for her comfort. “Not to mention the amount of students that’ll go bat shit crazy.”

Donnie reached out his hand and gripped her shoulder, tight. His fingertips dug into her skin, hurting her.

Raven acted on instinct and brought her knee up to connect between his legs. Donnie dropped to the floor in agony as he cupped his sensitive area.

“Don’t ever touch me again!” she screamed down into his face. “And for your information, I didn’t tell the fucking Dean anything, and if you’d have let me speak you would’ve fucking known that, asshole!”

Ava came rushing out of the bathroom to see what was happening, her eyes wide and her hand over her mouth as she noticed Donnie in a heap on the floor, Raven standing over him.

“I’ll explain on the way,” Raven sighed, leaving him groaning on the ground.

After explaining everything to Ava, and getting a sympathetic hug from her friend, Raven left their dorm to go to the library. She looked around to make sure that there was no sign of Beck, or Donnie, before rushing across the pathway to the main building.

She breathed a sigh of relief when she got there, and went to the back with her notepad and pen.

It was short lived when the chair next to her pulled out, and a person sat down.

“What do you want, Beck?” she asked nervously.

Raven tried to look bored, but her hands began to shake. She had no idea if Donnie had told Beck what had happened, or if he was there to do the same.

“You didn’t tell the Dean,” he said as a matter-of-factly. “Why?”

“Does it matter?” she replied, in a bored tone. “I didn’t ‘tattle’ so you can go now.”

“I want to know why. You seemed pretty certain, earlier.”

Raven turned and looked right into his eyes.

  Big mistake.

He was looking at her so intently, she forgot where she was for a moment. The silver-gray hypnotic as the light reflected off his irises.

“Raven?” he asked, his eyes narrowing.

“Oh..um…” she stammered, swallowing hard. Her heart hammered in her chest under his gaze.

“Donnie told me what happened. Nice move, by the way.”

“Uh, what?” Raven was confused. He was praising her for kneeing his friend in the nuts.

“He had no right to touch you without your permission.”

“Excuse me? You do that all the time!” she whisper shouted.

  Beck’s face twisted into anger.

“I have never grabbed or hurt you, Raven. I would never hurt you.”

  He was right.

He’d touched her hair, put his hands on her hips as he stood behind her, ran his finger down her arm, even brushed past her, but he’d never tried to grab at her. However, he’d gripped her when he’d tried to stop her.

“You grabbed my arm earlier, and pulled,” she said quietly as some students walked past, looking at them.

“Did I hurt you?” he asked, with a knowing look. He knew he hadn’t. His fingers had merely held her without tightening. She could still feel his hand on her elbow as if he’d branded her.

Beck’s face softened as he to
ok a deep breath. “Well, thanks for not saying anything.”

“So, are you going to leave me alone now?” she asked, then saw the devilish look in his eyes. Not a chance.

“I’ll give you a break…for now,” the corner of his lip turned up in a smile. “But I’m not promising anything, Raven. You’re too hot for me to back off completely.”

“Oh, God, “she groaned. “Bite me, Beck.”

“Whisper as you say that, then I’ll gladly oblige.”

Raven closed her eyes and shook her head. He’d lasted all of five seconds.

“See you around campus,” he whispered into her ear, causing shivers to run down her spine and goosebumps on her skin.

  Then he was gone.

“Hello, Earth to Ray! Come in Ray!” Ava said, waving her hand in front of Raven’s face. “Where did you go? You looked a million miles away.”

“I was just thinking about sophomore year,” she replied. “When Beck told me he’d give me a break. It didn’t last long.”

“Yeah, wasn’t it like, three days?” Kerry snorted.

  “Something like that.”

It wasn’t like Beck would constantly touch, or make innuendos. No, it was the stares, the eye winks when she glanced to him, the suggestive lip licking, the air kisses, the husky ’Hi Raven’ as she walked past.

She didn’t let him see just how much him doing those things affected her.

Every wink made her stomach flip.

Every blown kiss made her heart flutter, especially since he didn’t do kissing.

Every time he said her name that way, made her knees weak.

No matter what, she wasn’t going to let him win. She wasn’t going to cave and jump into bed, or a closet -as many girls had done- with him.

“Are you ok, Ray?” Leila asked, and Raven instantly knew what the girls could see in her expression.
