"Dina, that is enough. We must save this one for Nikoli."
Dina did not respond. The only concern she had, was filling her body to overflowing with this man's blood. Svetlana said it again, "Dina! Now! Release from him immediately!" She reinforced her words with a quick slap to the back of Dina’s small head. She reluctantly released her grip, turned and snarled at her mother as blood trickled out of her teeth and mouth. Hatred brewed in her eyes.
"Dina, listen. Nikoli needs this man. There are two others to deal with." With those words, the human part of her brain digested what her mother had spoken and relinquished her growing anger.
"Worry not child, this is only the beginning. Trust the words I speak. Now, do as I say. Stay leaning over the man. I shall summon the other two and we shall fill ourselves with more of the Third Reich's blood." Dina obeyed.
Svetlana started yelling as loud as she could. "No, No, No! Someone come help. Someone come help. Quickly, come help. Corporal Schmidt has fallen ill." The words were loud and piercing. They bounced and echoed through the forests. The sound of birds flying away in panic added to the drama of the situation. The other two soldiers heard the cries and hastily abandoned Corporal Schmidt's orders and rushed back to his aid. What could have possibly happened in the last few minutes? They knew they would be getting their taste of womanly pleasures after Schmidt was through. They rushed to the aid of the woman's screams.
Both of the soldiers burst out of the woods at a dead run. They saw the woman screaming and the child bent over their fallen comrade. They quickly covered the fifty meters to their comrade. Svetlana stopped screaming and slowly started backing away from the fallen corporal. The first soldier, after a quick glance, could detect no wounds. What he did detect was the sound of branches apparently breaking in the forest. But there is no wind. Must be very old limbs coming down that could no longer be supported. The sound was increasing, getting much closer.
"Child, move, let me examine my comrade." Dina didn't move. The noise was getting louder.
"Mein Gott!" yelled his comrade.
"Mein Go...” The voice was loud and panicked as if his comrade was seeing a ghost. He turned to see the woman who would have been his playmate, latched onto his comrades’ neck. He turned back to see two holes in Corporal Schmidt's neck. Blood was slowly oozing out.
"What is this? What is going on?" From his left came the sound of a deadly hiss. He turned towards the small girl and was greeted with the same sharp, bloody incisors Corporal Schmidt had witnessed. Before he could say a word, the fangs dug deep into his neck. He felt as if he was paralyzed. His body was screaming for survival, for a reality he would never see again. His brain was slowly shutting down into a deep trance as the fluid left his body. He was bleeding to death. As more of the fluid exited into the small girl, his body relaxed and slowly succumbed to the inevitable.
Again Dina felt her head being slapped hard. "Enough, we must save some for the others."
This time Dina responded without a fight. Her body was full. Her thirst had been satisfied for the moment. Svetlana looked around to make sure there were no other intruders in the area. They both loaded up the bodies into the wagon. Before she covered them up, she placed her fangs into the holes Dina had provided in Corporal Schmidt's neck, took a deep draw of his blood, and then with all of her strength forced half a liter of blood back into his body, infecting him with the bacteria that would end his life in ninety days. Yes, it would be a fitting end to this arrogant man.
She pulled the tarp they brought with them over the bodies and headed back towards M. Spartanin. The second raid had been a success.
Nikoli was truly pleased when Svetlana brought the converted Corporal Schmidt into his war room. The other soldiers had been taken into the meeting hall for the remaining members to feed on.
"Herr Schmidt, we meet again. So glad you could join us." The look in Schmidt's eyes no longer resonated arrogance or defiance, but servitude and obedience.
"My dear Schmidt, I look forward to using you for our goals. Do you understand?" Obediently Schmidt replied, "Jawohl, Mein Herr." Good, the conversion is working well. Too bad he would meet such a gruesome end in three months. Too bad, too bad indeed. Nikoli laughed as those thoughts drifted about. Yes, too bad for you my friend. I will make sure I am there to witness the end.
"My dear wife, you have done well. Yes, very well indeed. Herr Corporal Schmidt of the Third Reich is an unexpected, yet welcome addition to our clan. I believe he has Major Ernst's ear. It will make the infiltration easier then I envisioned. Well done wife." It had been a long time since Nikoli had said any words of approval to her. Her unexpected coup would make her own plan much easier to implement when the time was right.
"Thank you, dear husband. I am pleased you approve." She would have much rather enjoyed an embrace or small kiss, but she knew those days were long gone.
The next few weeks were spent as laid out. Each clan would randomly, yet systematically, find small patrols, convert those they needed and feed on the excess. Nikoli and his group were carrying out the assigned missions with great gusto and imagination. To them, it had become a game of fox and hound - the Germans being the fox and they the hounds. Nikoli was watching his plan being executed with precision and efficiency. Kirilli was doing the same, but without the same gusto and pleasure as Nikoli; however, he knew these actions were necessary for their existence.
Chapter 13
Svetlana
Svetlana had taken little Dina to Krakow for one more visit. She had been grooming a certain SS Colonel, Joachim Eckhardt, for the act she was about to perform. She and Dina needed to feed, but that would come later. She needed the feel of a man inside of her at least one more time. The encounter with Captain Brown so many months ago had regenerated her feminine desires. The feel of his large, strong hands fondling and squeezing her ample breasts had triggered feelings from the past. It reminded her of why she had enjoyed, and missed, her past life so much - the feeling of a man's sweat dripping on her body, her legs wrapped tightly around a strong torso, her fingers digging deeply and breaking the skin of her partner, and the feeling of life being pumped into her with each hard thrust. She missed those feelings so much. She thought for a fleeting moment, what would Nikoli think? but she quickly brushed it aside. He hadn't touched her for decades. It was time she tasted the fruits of a man inside of her.
She informed Nikoli that she and Dina were going into town to convert a few more soldiers, and bring back some dinner for the clan. It had been over a week since anyone had feasted.
Nikoli had sent Yakov to bring information on the guard activity surrounding Krakow. He was preparing to institute the next phase of the plan, by picking targets close to or in Krakow proper. Yakov returned with disturbing information. With so many disappearances of late, the Germans had tripled the guards, and were patrolling the areas close to Krakow with three men instead of one. Also, the areas they patrolled had decreased from one hundred meters to fifty meters. It was becoming too risky, and detection of the clan, and their plan, was at stake. Nikoli was very wary of what his wife was proposing. Even he had realized that the risks of detection were mounting with each passing day. They had converted over a dozen of the German scum for their own master plan. Was it worth letting Svetlana and Dina go to town? What if they were caught and interrogated? No one would be able to help them.
The most recent hunt with Yakov, Dmitri, and Stephan had been a complete and utter failure. Yakov had just placed his teeth into the young private’s jugular, when the shouts of "Mein Gott! Partisans! Alarm, Alarm!" rang out. Stephan and Dmitri had been arguing about an affair not worthy of mentioning, instead of watching for others. Yakov dropped the body and the three rapidly dispersed. The surviving sentry described the events to his superiors. They attempted to discard his report until he revealed the perfectly parallel marks on his neck. Major Ernst called for the area doctor to examine the wounds. After a careful examination, the doctor submitted his report to the major.<

"Sir, it is obvious by the parallel symmetrical marks, the man was bitten. I have never seen such precise wounds in my twenty-five years of practice. It is my opinion that the attacker was using an excellent set of metal dentures. I will consult with the local dentist for his thoughts. I would suggest the soldier be returned to the Fatherland for further observations." The doctor could not bring himself to inform Major Ernst that the wounds could have been inflicted by a vampire. The idea was impossible to conceive. He would look like a fool and possibly lose his position, or worse, be assigned to one of the new camps he knew were being built if he made mention of the unimaginable. So he kept silent.
Nikoli and Kirilli had upbraided the three for their complete and utter incompetence. A simple conversion gone bad and for no good reason. The punishment? They would not feed for two weeks.
The events were still very fresh in his mind. He had fully embraced Kirilli's idea of him planning out the attack on the Germans and was executing it with great zeal and precision. They were close to the final battle. He understood that Dina needed a new supply of blood quickly. The young ones burned through fresh blood twice as fast as their elders. Dina was showing the signs of needing nourishment. The color of her skin was turning a light yellowish-white. Her skin was becoming wet and slimy. In a few more days, she would not be able to venture out at all. She would not have the strength, or the physical appearance of being well.
"Svetlana, my sweet dear wife, I caution you to take care. The Germans now have an idea what is feeding on them. They will be on alert. If you are not able to find a lone soldier, do not attempt the conversion. The risk and price will be too high for us all." She cared not about the clan or the "master plan." She needed her desires filled. She yearned for the arms of a strong man holding her and the feel of him thrusting in her.
She flashed her alluring smile at Nikoli and said, "Dear husband, who would ever suspect a mother and child would be able to perform such a barbaric act. We shall take all precautions necessary and hopefully bring back a fresh supply." Nikoli reluctantly agreed and ordered them out. He had more important matters to tend to. The ultimatum he and Kirilli were completing was scheduled to be presented to General Von DerGraff in two days. Either peace would return to the area, or a full scale attack would be launched on the SS. It was time to remind the Germans they were invaders, not conquerors.
She and Dina exited the room and headed out to the old stable. Yakov had the carriage ready for them. Usually he cared not about the coming and goings of Svetlana, but this time he knew why she was going into Krakow; she and Dina were going to feed on a very special German Colonel. He flashed his decaying teeth, "Happy hunting, Svet. I hope his blood is sweet and sustaining. Bring back a few samples for the rest of us." Svetlana ignored his comments and boarded the carriage.
Little Dina had a confused look. "Mommy, why is no one else joining us today?"
"Do not worry, child. I will explain on the way to town." With a crack of the whip, the two turned west and started a journey that would serve two purposes, pleasures of the flesh, and sweet thick blood. She smiled with excitement and anticipation. Nikoli, dear Nikoli, you are a fool. You have demeaned me for the last time. If all goes well, I shall have a surprise for everyone. Another crack of the whip and the mare picked up the pace. She couldn't wait to arrive in town.
Colonel Eckhardt was a prime example of the SS - physically fit, blond hair, blue eyes, every quality the Third Reich and Heinrich Himmler were looking for in their Master Plan. Men like him would not only serve well in combat and implementing the new policies, but they would spawn true Aryan children that would carry the swastika across the world. Earlier in the afternoon he informed his aide, Corporal Manstein, his services would not be required for the evening. He was free to do as he pleased. The colonel would attend to any and all details for his guest. Manstein was very relieved he was granted a night off. For three long months he had done nothing but toil to his superior's tasks, fetching bath water, polishing boots, brushing uniforms, cleaning medals, and a host of other trivial acts. Getting a night off and enjoying the fruits and activities of the Hofbrau would be a welcome relief.
When Colonel Eckhardt had been assigned the command of Krakow, he had seen to it that the best carpenters and tradesmen had been chosen to repair and renovate the only three story hotel in town. He had chosen a room on the top floor that provided a good view of the town center, along with a window facing west out into the forests. He could watch, without impeding the patrols that regularly moved through the woods looking for partisans or fresh game. Since the disappearance of his cadet friend Captain Brown, he had doubled the patrols, reduced the spacing of sentries to fifty meters instead of the common one hundred, and reduced the shifts from four hours to two. The additional activity should thwart any unwanted visitors.
He had seen to every detail of the evening. Dinner would be prepared and brought to his room around 10:00pm. He would need the nourishment after enjoying the evening’s pleasures. The finest champagne and wine from the area had been collected and properly chilled. He would make this woman his. She would bear his Aryan children and become a perfect example of community co-operation and relations. She would willingly circulate the message of how benevolent and kind the Germans were. They meant no harm. They were just righting the ills of the dreaded Versailles Treaty. They were also cleaning up bloodlines that had been infected for far too long. Gypsies, Jews, the mentally ill, the handicapped, were all a result of crossed bloodlines and poor breeding. The Germans were correcting the mistakes of past generations, and this woman would be the perfect instrument to spread the word of the benevolent conquerors.
He looked about the room to ensure everything was in place, glanced out the double-hinged windows making sure the guards were changing as instructed, and gazed at the lowering sun in the west. It appeared to be gray, as the last of the rays tried to pierce the heavy clouds hanging on the horizon. He pulled the windows shut and decided to take a nap before his guest arrived. He couldn't help but smile as he calculated how he would breed this fine woman.
The journey to Krakow was uneventful. The patrols had grown accustomed to seeing Svetlana come to town at least once a month. They all had the same thoughts when she flashed her smile and hypnotic green eyes. Yet, being only non-commissioned officers, they knew they had no chance with this fine specimen. She was reserved for the officers. They could ill afford the sum she was surely charging. They would wave her through the check points with no questions per Colonel Eckhart’s orders.
Halfway to their final destination, Svetlana explained to Dina why she was the only one accompanying her today. She had been a very good girl in the past months, but had always had to share the kills. It was taking a toll on her. Everyone had noticed it. She and Zoya had been suffering the most from the sparse and careful hunting of late. Svetlana had actually wanted to bring Zoya, but Kirilli decided it would not be wise. Zoya had a bad habit of screaming in delight when she fed, a habit he and Sasha were trying to curtail with little luck. He respectfully declined her offer. Svetlana did not heavily object, but decided there would be other days she could have the two small ones all to herself, and instill in them her own values and tactics. Time would be on her side.
Tonight, little Dina would feast on a true officer of the SS. He was a man that would be worthy of their quest. He was large enough for both of them to fill the constricted veins and arteries which were closing up from lack of fresh blood. And maybe he just might still have enough left for them to convert him to the cause, and escort them out of town with no alarms and no questions asked. Yes, that is what she would do, suck out three liters of the crimson fluid, leaving just enough for a backwash injection and complete the changeover. He would last ninety days until the microbes took over his brain. Plenty of time for Kirilli and Nikoli to implement him into the master plan that was in the works. Tonight, Colonel Eckhardt would be introduced to a real master race.
It was around eight o'cloc
k as she pulled the carriage up to the front of the hotel. Two heavily armed SS guards stood at attention flanking the entrance. They stood as stone statues, motionless. A corporal came out of the front door as she brought the mare to a halt.
"It is a pleasure to see you, Madame. The colonel is waiting. I shall tend to your horse and carriage."
"Danke, Corporal. I hope the colonel hasn't gone to too much trouble this evening."
“I would not know, Madame. I only follow orders." Yes, the obedient soldiers always just follow orders. Excellent. That means we shall not be disturbed before, during, or after. Excellent!
Her thoughts were interrupted by the corporal. "Madame, we weren't expecting a child. Shall I take her to a different room for the evening?"
"That won't be necessary, Herr Corporal. It is time she was introduced to the new order and what it looks like."
Without a second question, the corporal instinctively replied, "Jawohl, Frau," and finished with the customary, "Heil Hitler."
The thought of so many people hailing and idolizing a man who brought so much grief to those in Southern Poland, amazed her. Irrelevant. They would take them one by one until they were defeated, pulled out of Krakow, or both.
She and Dina stepped into the warm building, shaking off the cold from the trip. The clerk working the front desk approached the two, and offered to take their coats and properly hang them up by the fireplace. Svetlana gladly accepted his offer. She and Dina removed their heavy, worn overcoats and handed them to him. His attention was immediately distracted by Svetlana's appearance. She was wearing her favorite dark green dress, the same one she wore that fateful night for Captain Brown. No man could help but notice how stunning her figure filled it out, and the corporal was no exception. She felt his eyes taking in the sight.
