Affair With The Billionaire_Episode One
Page 4
Lilian. She sat with a blond man, who, if I wasn’t thinking of punching his face in, was good looking. Figures. She was too attractive to be single. She hadn’t been wearing a ring of any sort, though.
Feeling like a stalker but not able to help myself, I took a seat on one of the benches. And watched them.
She laughed easily with him. She’d also changed. Understandable, as we’d – I’d – ripped her skirt. I could feel my face heat up.
They drank champagne. Were they celebrating?
Suddenly, the man got up, and went down on one knee. He held up something to her, and her hands went to her mouth. In shock? I could only hope.
He took her hand, laughing. Handed her the box, and he sat back down, still holding her hand. I did my best to see her face. It wasn’t easy with the distance, and the late afternoon sun.
Whatever she was feeling, she wasn’t jumping up and hugging him, or squealing, or whatever the general response was to a marriage proposal.
Mean as it was for the poor bastard sitting there, I felt a spark of hope. Maybe she wouldn’t marry him because earlier today, she’d had some other guy making her… I stopped myself. I was being crude. Not that I didn’t want to lock her in a room with me and fuck her until we both stopped moving, but she wasn’t crude.
I leaned forward as though the few inches could suddenly grant me the ability to hear the conversation.
Please let her say no… or at least not say yes.
Lilian
I held the box in my hands. I knew my mouth was open as if my life’s goal was to catch flies. Whatever I’d been expecting, it wasn’t this.
“I thought you were going to break up with me.” God. Did I really just say that? I chalked it up to being surprised.
Kit’s smile fell. “Why would you think that?”
I shrugged. “I don’t know. You haven’t been yourself all day.”
His smile came back. “Exactly the opposite. Aren’t you going to put it on?”
I looked at the ring in the box. It was beautiful, and old. I set it down on the table. “When did you do this?”
His smiled got wider. “It’s my grandmother’s. When I told her I wanted to marry you, she insisted I take it. She loves you. My whole family does. I do.” He took my hands in his. “Marry me.”
“I’m not sure I’m ready to get married.” That came out badly, too. Why were all my verbal skills failing me now?
“What are you afraid of?” Rather than be angry, Kit’s voice was soft. Understanding.
I didn’t want it. I’d cheated on him today, and other than feeling bad about hurting him, I didn’t feel bad about the act itself. That made me a less than nice person. Now I saw what I was doing.
Picking a fight. Deflection. Move away from the shitty thing I’d done.
I breathed deeply. I wasn’t going to do this.
“Kit, we’ve never talked about marriage. I am happy with us the way we are. I’m not sure I want to be married. You know why.”
“We’re us, Lil. You and me. We’re not anyone else.” He knew what I was talking about. “Do you love me?”
I nodded. I didn’t want to say anything because after seeing Dane Kairis today, I wasn’t sure why I’d behaved the way I did.
“I love you. That’s it. It’s simple. It doesn’t have to be anything else.” He was so understanding.
“Can I think about it?” Finally. I was able to say something that wasn’t awful.
Now it was his turn to nod. “I knew you weren’t thinking along these lines, but I have been. I wish you’d say yes right this minute, but I knew I might have to wait. I’m happy to. You’re worth it.” There was no trace of the jokey goofball. He really did love me.
I could feel the tears spring to my eyes. “You are better than I deserve.”
My words made the smile fall off his face, and he looked angry. “Don’t say that. You deserve anything you want, and more. Don’t ever say that, Lilian.”
I fought the lump in my throat and the urge to cry. He knew, knew everything about me, knew why I’d hesitate even without my actions today, and still wanted to marry me. He knew why I hesitated, why I didn’t see marriage the way everyone else did, and he didn’t care. He didn’t even know about my massive fuck up today. I should say yes immediately, but I couldn’t. And he was fine with it because he knew.
“Will you stay with me tonight?” The anger gone, he looked at me with love.
I shook my head. “I need to go home. But I do love you, Kit.”
“I know. One day, you’ll know too.”
Chapter Four
Lilian
Kit had retrieved my things from his car and walked me to mine. He didn’t press me, and he didn’t insist that I take the ring with me. Thankfully, he had deflected the cheers and good wishes from the people at the bar. He kept his arm around me. I needed it. I didn’t feel confident or anything other than about ten years old.
He settled me into the driver’s seat after putting my things in the trunk. I’d let him. Sometimes it was a relief to allow someone else to take care of things. If I married him, he’d do it always.
“Will you call when you get home? And drive slowly, please.”
I laid my hand on his arm, leaning out my window. “I will. I love you.”
He didn’t answer, but bent down and kissed me. Without a word, he stepped back from the car, and turned and walked away. I watched him go. He was so much more than I deserved.
Once he’d rounded the corner of the garage, I leaned back and let the tears fall. How long I sat there, I didn’t know. But finally, after wiping my eyes, I started the car, looking to the passenger seat to make sure my purse was there. Shit. Kit had put it in the trunk. I turned off the car and got out. I always kept my purse up front. He knew that too, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Today would be an easy day to forget about it.
Grabbing my purse, I closed the trunk and went back to the driver’s side when someone slid into view. I screamed and raised the purse to hit whoever it was.
“Hey! Calm down! I’m just making sure you’re okay.”
I stepped back. Dane Kairis. Just what I needed.
“What the hell are you doing here?” My adrenaline was still pumping. Lowering the purse, I reached in and tried for a casual manner as I rooted around for the pepper spray.
“I was running by, and saw you. It’s late, you looked like you were crying, and I wanted to make sure you were okay.”
I exhaled. Glared at him. He looked sincere, but lots of people did. People lied all the time. I should know. He was, however, wearing workout clothes. And he was sweaty.
Oh, no. Don’t even go there.
“I’m fine, other than being scared to death in a parking garage. Hello! No sneaking up on women like that!”
He held out his hands. “Peace, peace! Scout’s honor, I was just checking on you. I’m sorry. Now that I know you’re in perfect purse-wielding form, I’ll leave you to it.” He took a couple of steps back.
I laughed. I couldn’t help it. “I’m an expert purse wielder.”
He visibly relaxed. “I can see that. It’s why I’m backing up.”
“What are you doing down here?”
“I went for a long run.” He shrugged. “I tend to lose track of distance.”
I sighed. While I hadn’t been honest with Kit, I needed to be. And I needed to start with Dane, right now. “We’re going to have to talk about it.”
He stilled. Almost like an animal. Even the air went silent, and I could feel his arousal from where I stood. It made me feel tingles in places where I normally didn’t.
How did he do that?
“What do you want to say?” His voice was calm.
“I don’t know. Why did you do it?”
“Why did you let me?” How did his voice do that? Go all husky and give me visions that I should not be having? Naked, sweaty, love word visions.
I shook my head. “I don’t know. I don’t know.

He studied me. Then, “Will you give me a ride home?”
I was wary. “Why?”
“Then we can talk. There’s also the added bonus that I won’t have to run back. I’m going to be sore enough as it is.”
“Where to?” I couldn’t help but feel suspicious.
“It’s on Anglia Lane.”
I knew it. Everyone did. One of the oldest neighborhoods in the city.
“All right. That’s not far from me.” I turned my back to him, getting into the car. Why had I told him that?
After a brief hesitation, he came around the car and slid in the passenger side.
Neither of us spoke as I pulled out of the garage. I knew where the street was, so didn’t need to ask for directions.
He broke the silence. “Working late?”
“No, I had dinner with my boyfriend tonight.” No sense in hiding it now.
“Boyfriend, or fiancé?”
I jerked my head to look at him. “What are you talking about?”
He shrugged. “I was running on the river walk, and stopped for water. I saw your boyfriend get down on a knee while I was stopped. Only one reason for the knee.”
“Were you following me?”
He opened his mouth to answer, and then stopped. Opened it again. “Yes. Hoping like hell you didn’t say yes.”
“What? Why?”
“Did you forget where we were earlier today? I sure the fuck didn’t!”
Great. Now he sounded angry.
“That shouldn’t have happened,” I said. I didn’t look at him. “I’m sorry.”
“I’m not. I want more of it.”
“Don’t.”
“Don’t what, Lilian? You were into it as much as I was. Contrary to popular belief, I don’t normally drag women off the street. You wanted it as much as I did.”
“I did,” I whispered.
“Then come home with me.”
The way he said it, like it was a reasonable conclusion to make, thrilled me. Frightened me, too.
“What about Kit?”
“We’ll talk about him later. Now, I want to talk about you.”
“About what?”
His hand reached across the car, and settled on my right knee. He curled his fingers around my knee, and I felt my body shiver from his touch. “About how much I want to do it again.”
My voice caught, the words stuck in my throat. Not that it mattered, because he kept speaking.
“I want to run my fingers here,” he said in that deep, husky voice I’d heard on the phone earlier. His hand traced up my thigh, pulling the skirt along with it. “I want to rip the skirt off you, and get myself another pair of panties. I want to see you in front of me, naked, trembling, and blushing like you did. Rosy. That’s how you looked. Roses all over.” His words were hypnotic.
“Then I want to—” He roughly yanked my panties, shoving them to the side. “See if you’re as wet now as you were in the alley.” He rolled my clit with one finger.
I couldn’t help it. I felt my legs move, allow him greater access. It was almost like I wasn’t in control here.
The smile was evident in his voice. “Touch you again.” He slipped a finger in me, pushing in hard.
I whimpered. “Don’t make me wreck the car.”
“Pull over.”
I looked frantically for somewhere to park. Thankfully, there was a parking lot to the right, and I jerked the car in. Hitting the brake abruptly, I turned the car off.
The hand not inside me moved across my chest, pinning me to the seat. “Don’t move.”
Two fingers now. He was also rubbing my clit again, and it was hard to sit still.
“Do you like that?”
“Yes,” my whisper seemed so loud in the silence of the car.
Suddenly, both hands were gone. Startled, I looked over. He was getting out of the car. He was at my side before I knew it and he opened the door. Taking my hand, he drew me out, and leaned down.
He kissed me. Oh my god, did he kiss me. I nearly saw stars. He smelled musky, the way men do after a workout. There was a sheen of sweat from his run still on his skin. I could feel it as my arms went around his neck, pulling him to me.
He lifted his head, and walked back to the passenger side of the car. He towed me, almost like a boat. I didn’t feel like I had any say in this. Then again, I didn’t really want any.
Once we were essentially behind my car, he pinned me to the side, and kissed me again, devouring me. His mouth was hot as he nipped down the side of my neck, stopping to bite at the junction where my shoulder started.
Oh, god. He was so incredibly hot.
He turned me around, and put my palms on the roof of my car. “Stay still,” his voice hissed at me.
I couldn’t have moved if I wanted to, and thanked the stars above I had the car to lean on.
He put his foot between mine, and spread my legs apart. I could feel my skirt straining. Shit. I was going to ruin another skirt.
He molded himself to me, and I could feel him right behind me, hard against my ass. He was in workout clothes, so I felt him even more than I had earlier today. He rubbed himself against me, and his hands went under my jacket and shirt, pulling the shirt from the skirt and moving around the front to cup my breasts. He shoved my bra up, and pinched both my nipples. I could feel a new wetness between my legs, and a swelling ache start.
“I want to fuck you,” he muttered in my ear, kissing my hair, and then down to my neck. “God. Lilian. Let me have you.”
His hands went up over the top of my breasts and back down. I could feel his nails scraping me a little, which made every part of me tighten. A small wind blew where his mouth had been, chilling my skin and making my nipples harder. Not sure how that was possible.
Then they were out of my shirt, and down to my ass, squeezing it. He lifted my skirt, and damn if he didn’t rip my panties off again. How many pairs did that make? I couldn’t even think.
His hand cupped me, with the other snaking around my waist to pull me close to him.
His fingers found me, and this time, were not gentle. The roughness, his need, made me wetter.
“Oh, yes. Yes, Dane. Please.”
He stilled. He really had some shitty timing.
“Say it again, Lilian.”
“Please, Dane.”
Now he stepped away from me. His timing got worse, not better. I was about to complain when I realized he was fumbling with something.
“Don’t move, Lilian.”
I heard a small sound as he tore at something. At least one of us was thinking.
There was a silence, and then he was close to me again. “I can’t wait.”
“Don’t.” My voice sounded ragged.
With a groan, he thrust into me. Kept going, lifting me onto my toes. His hands moved around to the front of my body, both cupping me, playing with my clit. I felt my knees turn to rubber, or water, or something. Nothing I could stand up with. Thank god I could lean against the car. I’d fall down otherwise.
One hand moved up, and found my face. I could smell myself on him, and it was intoxicating. He turned my face to him. “Kiss me,” he said, tracing my lips with his fingers.
He kept grinding into me, slower than I wanted. He took the time to push me onto my toes every time. His hand traced my jaw as I hungrily kissed him from the side. His other hand was still between my legs, getting rougher, more demanding. I could feel my breath catching each time he drove into me. His breathing sped up in time with mine. My hands were still on the roof of the car, but they were sweaty, sliding back and forth with the rhythm of his thrusts.
It felt like he was everywhere, all around me, all at once. I’d never felt this consumed by anyone else, ever. I could feel the heat rising from between my legs, up through my breasts. I was close, and holy shit it was agony.
“Oh my god, oh my god,” I half shrieked, half whispered. He pulled my head back onto his chest, and put his fingers across my mouth.<
br />
“Bite down.”
I did. I couldn’t stop it if I wanted to. I wanted to devour this man. I bit his fingers, again tasting me. He increased his speed, almost bruising me.
“Oh, babe. Lilian. Harder,” he gasped.
I pushed against him, wanting more. Then I felt it, like falling over a cliff. I did see stars, feeling warm, and boneless, and amazing. I sagged against the car.
“Hold on,” he growled. He anchored his hands on top of mine, and plunged into me, even deeper than before. I cried out. He moved faster, and faster, his hips jerking against me.
I thought I’d fallen off the cliff, but he pulled me back, and sent me to the edge again. I felt the warmth rising and pooling into my pussy, and then he stiffened behind me. A guttural noise came from him. He cradled me to him, running his hands along my sides, coming to rest on the tips of my breasts. He palmed them carefully, gently, unlike before. The action made me jump.
“Now, come home with me.” His tone brooked no discussion.
Slowly, I nodded.
“Get in.” He stepped back, withdrawing from me. I sighed. I could feel him smile in the dark. He opened the door, and carefully tucked me into the seat. The door closed as he moved around to the other side.
Settling into the driver’s seat, he reached for me. His hand whispered from my knees up to my pussy, causing me to shudder. I wasn’t normally a soundless puddle of goo, but I couldn’t be anything more at the moment.
His hand continued up, lightly pinching one of my nipples, and then rested on my chin. He turned my face to him, and kissed me again.
The same fire, the same heat were there. But this kiss was gentle. In spite of that, I felt claimed.
He kissed me once more, letting his hand drift down my neck, and then started the car.
The Finish…
I have to tell you, when I wrote this, I didn’t see the ending…er..coming. (I swear, that wasn’t completely deliberate either!) I let Dane and Lilian take the wheel, and this is where we all ended up.
