“I’ll be back later, I love you,” he whispers against our joined lips.

Before I could utter a word, he was gone. What would you have said? A small voice asked. I would have said I love you too I told myself.

  Chapter 24

  Reyes

  Present Day.

Leaning in close, I smiled as Sal tried to keep his footing. It’s hard to do when your feet just skimmed the floor. His arms were secured above his head with a chain that connected to the ceiling. Although, they were too weak to hold him up.

“Where’s Cassie? Where’s my daughter?” he begged.

“Exactly where you planned on having my old lady,” I told him, making sure to give him my most devious smile.

His eyes watered at the thought. I wouldn’t tell him the truth, let him die thinking Cassie was being used by my men.

“What did Emilio promise you?” I asked him.

“Money, power, and freedom form you,” he snarled at me.

Big words coming from a man hanging from my ceiling.

“You fucked up old man,” I told him.

Reaching out I waited for Ryan to hand me the long kabob like skewer.

“I should have been president of the mother chapter, but Dirk overlooked me and choose you,” he snarled at me.

“Dirk was like a father to me. He took me under his wing and shaped me to be the next leader,” I told him calmly.

Holding up the instrument, I let Sal get a good look at it.

“What are you going to do with that? Cook me dinner?” he asked in a haunting voice.

Laughing I stepped closer and placed it against his armpit. I applied a small amount of pressure.

“Now, I’m going to see how much pain I can inflict in a short amount of time. The way I see it, either you’ll bleed out or pass out from the pain,” I informed him honestly.

I watched as the metal pierced his skin slowly sinking all the way in. I wasn’t sure how much time I had with him, but I knew who was waiting for me at home. Alanna needed me, but this prick needed to die before I could leave. First, I had a job to do for my club and brothers.

“You lost sight of it all Sal, we’re brothers remember?” I told him.

Once it was completely embedded in his left armpit, I went for the right armpit doing the same. His scream bounced off the walls and the stench of old pennies mixed with the smell of old blood.

“What did you promise Emilio?” I asked him.

“You dead,” he replied, his voice strained.

“That’s not going to happen,” I tell him coldly.

“We were going to distribute his drugs and make a shit ton of money. We could do this together Reyes,” he was trying to save his own life.

“This is why he overlooked you as president of this chapter Sal, you only look out for you,” I tell him calmly.

I felt like we were talking about what we had for dinner or what kind of ride we wanted to take.

Ryan handed me a knife. There wasn’t anything else I wanted for Sal, I had others to play with. Once he was dead, they would sing.

“Goodbye Sal,” I tell him as I slit his throat. Blood poured out of the gaping wound like a river.

  Epilogue

  Alanna

One Year and Six Months Later.

This wasn’t happening again. I groaned as I looked at it again. I read the words that sealed my fate so many months ago.

“Ma, ma, ma,” Titus shouted from the other side of the door.

Our son was going to be the death of me.

“Mama will be right out, “I called out to him.

“Ma, ma, now?” Titus’ little voice wavered slightly.

Was I ready for this again? Grabbing the second stick, it said the same thing and so did the third and fourth. I was pregnant again, and Reyes was making good on his promise to keep me barefoot and pregnant.

“Alanna?” Bianca shouted from down the hall.

It was like a horrible déjà vu. The last time this happened, Bianca came barging into the bathroom and invaded my white stick party.

Looking at the counter, I sighed. Bianca was about to do it again.

“I’ll be right out!” I told her quickly.

“Did you fall in? You’ve been in there for like twenty minutes.” She said.

Was I really in here that long? It felt like maybe five tops.

“People are starting to arrive!” Bianca shouted from the other side.

Today was Titus’ first birthday, and apparently the day I found out that I was pregnant again with baby number two.

“I’m coming,” I told her as I swiped the little sticks into the trash can.

Standing, I flushed the toilet and washed my hands. Looking into the mirror, I took in my pale complexion. Reyes was going to know something was up.

“Alanna?” Reyes called from the other side of the door.

What the fuck? Did everyone decide I needed a rescue party?

  “I’m coming,” I snapped.

The door opened just a little, and Reyes slipped into the room.

“What’s wrong baby?” he asks when his eyes scanned my face.

  “IT’s happening again,” I cried.

  “What?” he asks in concern.

“I’m fucking pregnant, you asshole!” I snapped at him.

Slapping a hand over my mouth, I felt my eyes get large. I wasn’t going to tell anyone, not yet anyway.

“You’re pregnant?” he asked not sounding at all shocked.

Narrowing my eyes, I took in his all too innocent expression.

“You did this on purpose!” I screamed.

He just laughed and pulled me towards him, kissing the top of my head.

“Is that so bad?” he asked me quietly.

  “No,” I grumbled back.

I thought that life would be different from what it was, but Reyes stayed faithful. I guess I was that girl that could tame him.

“I love you,” I told him, leaning back to kiss his lips.

“I love you too, baby,” he tells me.

Then goes down on his knees and presses his lips to my flat stomach.

“I love you too little one,” he tells our child.

“Let’s go, we have people waiting,” he tells me while standing up and grabbing my hand.

  “Wait!” I tell him.

He turns and looks at me, one eyebrow cocked.

“I want to keep it a secret, its Titus’ birthday and it should be about him,” I tell him with a slight hand squeeze.

“Did I tell you that I loved you?” he asked me with a crooked smile.

“Yes, you do every day,” I tell him with an eye roll.

“Are you complaining?” he asked, and his voice held a note of mischief.

  “NO!” I laughed.

Ducking under his arm, I rushed to the door and pulled it open. I turned my head and stuck my tongue out at him and ran down the hallway laughing as he chased me.

“Alanna it’s about time!” Bianca exclaims holding little Winter in her arms. Ryan finally pulled his head out of his ass and Winter was their seven-month-old daughter.

Life was perfect, even if Reyes was a little wild. I wouldn’t change anything, not even the gritty bits.

  The End.

Keep going for a sneak peek at Hating Gunner!

  Hating Gunner

  Prologue:

  Four Months Ago.

When I was younger, I often thought of my future. I contemplated being an artist, selling stuff in a gallery, hosting galas, and maybe even going to a boring old accountant school. I also imagined that I could find a desk job in some place where I would be a faceless, nameless nobody. I wouldn’t have minded any job that didn’t involve my over-protective family. It would be a place where I could have a life.

What I didn’t imagine was not wanting to leave my father. Yeah, that defiantly hadn’t been in the cards. And I literally mean in the cards. I had my fortune told by a fortune teller at the county fair when I was
sixteen. She promised me a great future filled with everything my heart desired.

I turned around and looked at the clubhouse. The tables were filthy and scattered around the middle of the room. The black leather couches lined the walls, and they have seen more things then I wanted to imagine. The once white walls were now a dingy gray, and I laughed lightly. Yeah, I see many great things, and none of them are good.

Like right now, I see Uncle Slims bare ass as he pounds some girl into the nearest table. It’s like he wants to make her one with the furniture.

If her screams were anything to go by, she was having one hell of a good time. Not that I would know what it felt like to have that good of a time. I have so many uncles, brothers, and a very overprotective father. They all carry guns, wear leather, and ride motorcycles. That has kept the boys both in awe and away from me.

Yeah, that means no playtime for Cassie.

I shudder as my Uncle groans. Who the hell wants to see their family’s sex life? Definitely not me! Yet I stick around this filthy place like a phantom haunting and clinging to the present in fear of what was next.

Casting my eyes away from the pair I looked into Zane’s amber colored eyes. His light brown hair gave him a god-like appearance. If I didn’t love him like a brother, I would have been fawning over him like this chick to his right.

The girl has blonde and brown dyed hair and overly caked on mascara. How she kept her eyes open was beyond me. I don’t even get me started on the lips stick and eyeshadow.

She definitely wasn’t getting the hint that he wasn’t interested.

“Cassie,” Zane nodded and gave me his full attention. The poor girl wasn’t even being acknowledged.

“What can I get for you?” I asked him sweetly.

“What does this bitch have that I don’t?” The girl to his right heatedly grumbled.

  “Class,” Zane says coldly.

Ouch. I winced as the nasty, yet sophisticated response reached my ears. Even I felt the burn from his words and they weren’t even directed at me.

“Fuck you,” she snapped at him as her voice wavered slightly.

I watched as he turned and looked her over. His eyes were going up and down. He wasn’t rushing it. It was a slow and sadly bored look.

“Not much to look at,” he replied with a toothy smile.

“Asshole,” she screeched as she raised her hand as if to smack him.

Not that I blame her, he was acting like a real asshole.

“Why are you still here?” He asked her.

I watched with fascination and pity as she stood and tried to collect her crumbled dignity and walk away on her five-inch heels.

“Cassie?” Zane’s humor-filled voice drew my eyes back to him.

“Can I have a beer, please?” He asked with humor still in his voice. He was acting like nothing happened, as if he didn’t just demolish that girl.

“Oh, shit! Yeah, hold on,” I stumbled over my words as he laughed.

“Asshole,” I muttered to him affectionately.

I placed the beer in front of him and cast him a look. The kind of look that said I was waiting.

  “Thank you,” he tells me.

“You’re most welcome,” I replied with a smile.

“So, what’s new with you?” Zane asked.

I opened my mouth to reply, and froze as the clubhouse door opened. In walked the hottest man to grace this place in I don’t know how long, maybe forever! He had a scruffy dark beard, and long, yet not too long, dark hair which was slicked back. His gray eyes had my breath stilling in my lungs and my legs clenching together.

I wanted, no I needed, the instant throbbing between my legs to dissipate. His eyes met mine, and everything in me seemed to wake up.

Mary mother of God, my mind whispered. I was the only twenty-two-year-old virgin that I knew of, and I was panting over the first man in years to graced this place that wasn’t family.

In our defense, my mind whispered, he’s the hottest man we’ve ever seen. He was sex on a stick, and I want to give him a nice long lick.

I laughed to myself. What the fuck was wrong with me?

Little did I know that in four months’ time, instead of desiring this man with every fiber of my being, I would hate him with a heat hotter than hell’s fire.

  Chapter 1

  Gunner

  Four Months Ago.

“Gear up man, you’re headed to the Portland chapter,” Reyes said while slapping my shoulder and laughing. The fucking bastard.

Closing my eyes, I pinched the bridge of my nose with my thumb and index finger. Applying increasing pressure until the ache dulled and it was slightly numb.

Taking a deep calming breath, I opened my eyes and centered my attention on the asshole who just ruined my day. All six-foot-four, black-haired, snarling inch of him. Reyes may be my president, but he was also a dick. I wanted to punch said dick in the face.

Looking around the room, I watched as barely clad women sipped from their drinks. They were all trying to entice my brothers into having a good time.

They gave little tugs on their shirts in a southern direction trying to expose more and more cleavage. At the same time, they were pulling their skirts in a northern direction exposing different colored panties.

I wanted to be one of those stupid bastards.

“What the fuck man?” I growled at Reyes.

“Shut the fuck up and get a move on,” Ryan said with a laugh.

They were both cock blocking bastards. The last time I went to the club, the pussy begged for attention, but they were not ones I wanted to play with.

“Fucking pricks,” I mumbled to them.

“Get a move on. I need intel, and I know those assholes are up to no good. The last time Sal was here, he was sweating a little too much,” Reyes informs me.

This changed shit. If that club were on the wrong side, then they would be taken out. Every dirty motherfucker in there would meet the angel of death, and I was one of the fuckers who’d send them there.

“How bad?” I ask him to try to gauge what I was walking into.

“Bad. Shit hasn’t been right over there for some time. My guess it began not long after I took the gavel,” Reyes dark voice would have had a weaker man pissing his pants.

“Right, so I get to go in and see how far up shit creek I have to paddle?” I snapped.

“That sounds about right, don’t you think Ryan?” Reyes asked my Vice President.

“Yeah, although I would wear goggles. I heard that shit burns the eyes,” he replied while laughing.

“Both of you are assholes,” I growl.

  “Fucker,” Reyes laughs.

“He summed it up,” Ryan tells me with a shrug.

Motherfucker! I don’t even get a fucking hand job before I have to walk into whatever shit storm the Portland chapter has stirred up?

“A little warning brother,” Reyes grabbed my shoulder.

Turning, I look at him and wait for him to spit out whatever has his panties in a wad.

“Hands off Sal’s daughter,” he says.

“Cassie? Isn’t she like sixteen or some shit?” I ask him.

“No man she’s in her twenty’s, but hands fucking off. I need you on the good side of the table not missing pieces,” he tells me coldly.

“Whatever. There’s easier pussy to be had,” I tell him shrugging it off.

“Good,” Ryan tells me and walks off to find himself a little bit of fun.

Fucking prick. Reyes follows, and I give him a big fuck you gesture. He laughs and shakes his head before running his fingers through some blonde’s hair.

I fucking hated them both. As I walked through the room and down the gray hallway, I snarled as I passed a door with loud screams and grunts. Frustrated, I made my way to my room and felt the need riding me hard. I had to pack some shit, but I wasn’t sure how long I was going to be gone. But if I had my way, it wouldn’t be for long.
