She threw him a cool smile and said breezily, “Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I had a lot of shopping to do.”
He lifted a brow and allowed a slight smile to curve his lips.
“I see. Well, I understand that shopping can be time-consuming.”
She threw him a questioning frown. “You seemed uncharacteristically impatient with Manuel, Ian. Is something wrong?”
He shrugged. “Nothing that turning you over my knee and spanking the hell out of you won’t solve.”
Riley frowned and tipped her head to the side as if considering his threat. She tossed her long blonde hair that was hanging in shiny waves of gold around her shoulders and pursed her lips.
“Hmm, I don’t think I’m dressed for that, Col. Ross. But, I’ll let you decide.”
She carefully unbuckled the looped belt on the form fitting, double- breasted trench coat then slowly undid the three large buttons holding the edges of the coat closed. She nonchalantly undid the button on the high collar, revealing an intriguing inch-wide black leather choker. She spread open the coat and with an easy shrug allowed the wool gabardine, silk-lined creation to slide off her shoulders and float like an autumn leaf to the floor behind her.
If it had been hard to breathe when he first saw her, looking at her now, Ian conceded that breathing was overrated—as was keeping his heart beating below cardiac arrest level. She stood before him with a slightly bored expression on her face as if she was accustomed to driving grown men to uttering incoherent sounds of lust. Ian wasn’t about to apologize for his agonized murmurings. It was a miracle he was capable of any sound.
Diamond was wearing a bright red corset with black leather trim. Black silk laces up the front and back of the contraption made her already hourglass figure even more pronounced. Her cinched in waist further emphasized her lush breasts that swelled over the top of the bustier. Ian knew that one tug on the bow tying the top of the bustier would be all it took to release Riley’s sumptuous globes. She was wearing black leather boy shorts that cupped her curvy ass like an intimate glove. Ian was a sucker for lace-topped thigh-high silk stockings, but he decided he definitely needed to expand his libido-raising clothing requests. The thigh-high shiny black leather boots baring a few precious inches of creamy flesh between the bottom of the boy shorts and the top of the sinful boots literally stole his breath.
Ian couldn’t hold back a groan but did manage to say in a strangled voice, “I can see that you did go shopping.”
She tossed her head and dismissed her erotic clothing with a wave of her hand.
“You mean this? Oh this was nothing.”
Unstrapping the buckles on the canvas satchel she spread the hinges open wide.
She paused and smiled at him coyly.
“You told me that at some level a whorish, adventurous woman lived below my uptight exterior. I decided to see if you were correct, Ian. Which meant that I needed to do some special shopping.”
Reaching into the bag, she began taking out one outrageous implement after another. The first was a wood handled black leather flogger quickly followed by a fetish riding crop and not one but two paddles, one of them studded. Ian couldn’t hold back a low whistle as Riley removed a virtual superstore of sex toys. Although “toys” didn’t begin to describe some of them.
At his whistle, Ian saw the first crack in Riley’s obviously rehearsed nonchalance.
“Are they…okay? I mean, are they things that you like?”
Ian shrugged. “I like some of them very much. Others, not so much.”
She frowned and then said uncertainly, “Well it’s not as if we have to use them all.” Seeing his grin, she quickly added, “At least not all at once.”
He nodded, reining in his grin. “Definitely not all at once.”
Picking up a couple of the ticklers, he said with a slight frown. “You know, Tiger, I might be intimidated. Begin to think that you are much more experienced in erotic play than I realized.”
He picked at a price tag on one of the paddles and said thoughtfully, “Except that all of these ‘implements’ still have their tags. Indeed, most of them are in their original wrappings. Tell me, sweetheart, were you thinking that you might want to return some of them?”
“Uh…um…I just wasn’t sure what you liked, Ian.”
Ian picked up a complicated looking web restraint and mused.
“Hmm, I haven’t seen one of these since the last time I was in Thailand. I believe they call it a full body spider web restraint. Notice that these straps can hold a person against the wall in some of the most unusual positions.”
Diamond stared at the scary-looking leather web and her eyes widened. Biting her lip, she frowned as she began tracing the lacings with her fingertip. Looking up she caught his teasing expression. Her eyes flashed and her chin shot up in the air. She glared at him and scoffed, “Don’t tell me that the Big Bad Powerful Lady Killer Ian Ross is going to wimp out?”
He laughed aloud and chucked her under her chin. “Not a chance, Tiger. As long as we agree up front that what’s good for the goose is also good for the gander. Although I believe I’ll exercise my prerogative as a commanding, dominating male animal to take the initiative.” He glanced at the flogger and said with a grin, “Out of fear if nothing else.”
Tugging at the tie on the back of Riley’s corset, he untied it. Loosening the constricting top, he slid a long finger under the corset and reveled in the moisture building there. Damn, he thought with a chuckle the hairs on the back of her neck actually did stand on end.
Glancing at the mammoth display of sexual toys, he asked casually, “Where would you like to begin, Tiger. Should we start with the floggers? Or, maybe this Nine Tail?”
When her eyes widened further, he said, “Although thinking back on our previous conversation, these paddles might be interesting.”
The flush on her porcelain cheeks confirmed that she remembered his earlier threat.
Picking up a pair of nipple clamps and a clitoral clamp, he grinned. “Now these could be interesting, if a tad painful. At least at first.”
Plowing through the pile of instruments he murmured thoughtfully, “One of these dildos or this g-spot vibrator or any other of these clever devices could be inserted in the most interesting places.”
With a frown he picked up a wire contraption and held it up in front of him.
“However this cock and ball combo looks like it could be downright painful. It is clever though. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one that vibrates.”
Diamond glanced at him as if to see if he was teasing her.
Ignoring her questioning glance, Ian rummaged among the various plugs and pulled out the largest one.
“I don’t know how much anal play you have done, baby, but I’m not sure how long it would take me to get a plug this size into that tender butt of yours.”
At her gasp, he said, “On the other hand these anal beads should be enticing. Once I get them inside of you, that is.”
Seeing her pull back, beginning to resist, he reached for her and held her tight against her chest. He reached for a simple set of wrist and ankle restraints.
“Tell you what, Tiger, let start with these. I happen to have restraint hooks on all four corners of my king bed. How about I tie you spread-eagled? That would allow me unlimited access to your gorgeous body without your being able to resist. Of course, in order to increase the excitement, the anticipation, I would have to blindfold you so you wouldn’t know what was going to happen next.”
Ian watched her closely. He was gratified to see her shiver of excitement and the spark of interest in her eyes.
She asked tentatively, “So I couldn’t resist? You could do whatever you wanted to do to me?”
He nodded. “Mm hmm.”
“I wouldn’t know what you might do next?”
“Nope.”
“And that would turn you on, excite you?”
“More than you can imagine, my love.”

She nodded. “Fine. Then let’s do it.”
Putting aside the restraints that that they’d agreed upon, Ian scooped up the myriad wicked and potentially wonderful implements, put them back into the satchel, and carefully redid the straps. He shoved the bag under the table.
Shaking his head, he chortled. “I’m impressed, sweetheart. I just wish I could have seen the expression on that leering sales clerk’s flushed face, watching you choose all of these outrageous things. Trust me. That scene will be the impetus for a lifetime of wet dreams for the poor bastard.”
Ian pulled her up next to him and held her tightly. His voice was gruff, filled with emotions he couldn’t hide. “But you didn’t have to buy all of those things to convince me that underneath that protective exterior lives the sexiest, most erotic woman I know.” He added, his voice dropping, “I have to tell you, Tiger, when I thought you might not come to me, I was terrified. Now I’m the happiest man alive.”
Diamond was quiet for a moment then asked with a mischievous smile, “Do you like all my toys?”
He grinned. “Some of them a lot. Ask me how I feel about your outfit.”
She tossed her head and asked with an impish wink, “Do you like what I am wearing, Col. Ross?”
He held her away from him and looked up and down her sexy attire as if deciding. Stopping to ogle the most striking elements, he growled, “Damn, I can’t think of anything that could possibly be more erotic than this corset. Or these boy shorts. Or these damnable boots!”
He qualified his answer by running his finger under the unusual neck piece then murmured against her ear, “Except when I strip them off of you—leaving you naked except for this enticing black leather collar.”
Obviously now enjoying their sexy interchange, Diamond looked up at him with a playful pout.
“What if I get cold?”
Ian couldn’t hold back a groan. “Don’t worry, darling, I promise to keep you warm.”
She nestled against his strong body and murmured, “I love you, Ian.”
Not bothering to swipe at the grateful tears burning the backs of his eyelids, Ian tipped up Riley’s chin and gazed into her eyes. “And I love you, Tiger. More than anyone or anything in the world.”
