First Kiss Page 9

“I talked to mom she wants us all to be at her house tomorrow for dinner. I’m supposed to tell you your presence is requested as well.” I couldn’t resist poking Jackson in the chest just for an excuse to touch him.

Dean grunted his reply and continued upstairs. Just as Dean slammed the door shut Jackson had me in his arms.

“Eww you smell.” I pretended to push away but there was no power in it.

“I smell like a man, baby.” He nuzzled my neck. His lips finally trekking over to mine.

I pulled his shirt from out of his pants so I could touch the hard planes of his chest. Jackson was leading me to the couch when there was a knock on the door.

We pulled apart. Jackson raked his hands through his hair and went to answer the door. I went to the kitchen trying to catch my breath. He greeted Trina and I came out of the kitchen trying to act like I wasn’t about to have dirty sex with Jackson right there on the living room floor.

I hugged Trina and ignored Jackson afraid if I looked at him I would give something away.

“I’m going to go hop in the shower,” Jackson’s voice was gravely but I still refused to look at him.

“What’s his problem?” Trina asked as Jackson stomped up the stairs.

“Long day. They both are working hard to keep their business going. Whoever’s trying to sabotage them they are going to have to work hard to get those boys down.”

“Have they found anything out?” Trina asked her voice sounded far away.

“Meredith has some leads.” I stopped before I told her about maybe linking my letters and phone calls to the case. I didn’t want to worry Trina and I also didn’t want her to get mad I’d kept some of the phone calls away from her.

Trina chewed on the side of her finger and she looked nervous. “Are you nervous to meet the parents?”

Trina smiled and flipped her hair behind her head. “Nah, I’m great with parents. Besides they made both of you they have to be great people.”

“Yeah, they are kind of awesome. My mom actually called and demanded we go to their house for dinner tomorrow. I’m sure she’ll tell you about it when you pick them up.”

Just then Dean ran downstairs his hair slicked back from getting out of the shower. “Hey, sexy.” He kissed Trina and grabbed her hand. “See you later, Lucy.”

They waived goodbye and ran out the door. I went to the peephole and watched Dean’s car until it was out of sight.

Locking the front door I climbed the stairs ready to begin plan one of getting Jackson to fall in love with me.

The bathroom was covered in steam from Jackson’s shower he was drying his hair when I quietly snuck in. I let the door audibly click shut. Jackson’s head snapped around and a slow smile curled over his mouth.

Without saying a word I sauntered over and dropped to my knees taking his cock deep in my mouth. His hands buried in my hair tugged at it as I set a fast rhythm.

His hips jutted back and forth. My hands were planted on his firm ass loving the feel of his cheeks flexing under them.

“I’m going to come,” Jackson growled pulling on my hair trying to get me to stop.

I wouldn’t relent. My suction intensified and my tongue went to work until Jackson cursed loudly and his cock jumped in my mouth spurting down the back of my throat.

Jackson lifted me up by my arms and threw me over his shoulder walking into my room. He threw me on the bed and covering me with his naked body before I stopped bouncing.

  13

Jackson snuck out of bed before Dean came home. I snuggled my nose in the pillow he was sleeping on and inhaled deeply. I was on the verge of falling back to sleep when my phone rang.

Mr. Ranazzi’s number showed up and I cleared my throat before answering.

“Hi, Mr. Ranazzi. How are you?”

“Hello, Lucy.” His voice sounded grim and I sat up leaning against the headboard.

“How can I help you?” I asked as a feeling of foreboding slithered over me. It seemed weird having my newest boss call me on a Sunday morning. Getting straight to the point seemed the best option.

“Lucy, I hate to have to do this but I wanted to talk to you immediately so I wouldn’t waste your time.”

“Okay, I appreciate your consideration but I’m still confused why you’re calling me. Did I do something wrong?”

“Not exactly but I am afraid I’m going to have to remove my job offer.”

Warring emotions ran through me. Relief was the most prevalent but anger and sadness were close behind. I didn’t really want the job. When I signed the contract the voice in my head told me it was a bad idea so having it removed from me was nice but still.

“Why?” I wasn’t going to fight for the job but I felt I deserved an explanation.

“I don’t really feel it’s necessary to go into the reasoning. Just know you were very qualified and you’ll be a huge asset to the lucky company who finds you.”

“I appreciate you saying all of that but honestly I would like to know what happened.” My voice was stern and there was no arguing with what I wanted.

“Just know this wasn’t what I wanted.”

“Understood. I’m not going to cause a scene I just want to know.”

“Very well. It seems someone found out about your last job. Some of the department voiced their worries about having you working close to them. As you have seen we are very tight knit company and I don’t want to tear the department apart.”

Anger burned hot in my stomach. It spread throughout me and I narrowed my eyes. I forced myself to stay calm on the phone. I told him I was going to stay calm and I wasn’t going to back on my word. Even though he had just revoked a job I had just signed up for.

“I understand. If it makes any difference I didn’t know he was married and it was a huge mistake. I wish your company all the luck in the world.” Without waiting for a response I hung up the phone and tossed it on the bed.

How long? How fucking long was this going to keep creeping up on me and knocking me down?

I just made up my mind to let Richard go. I stood up to him on the phone and had a plan to get Jackson to live happily ever after with me. These set backs were getting old.

I tossed my comforter back and went to take a shower. This was a blessing in disguise. My gut told me I needed to stay more focused on my freelance work and now I had the option to do it. I wasn’t going to drown in my self pity I was going to take it as this wasn’t meant to be.

After working for a couple hours I felt antsy. Getting up I took a walk and found a yoga studio. Feeling thoroughly stretched and good about myself I went home and took a shower getting ready for dinner with my parents. And the questions I knew were going to be thrown at me.

Jackson and Dean came home and Dean went upstairs to get ready before Trina came over. I watched Dean and he seemed to have no clue I was removed from my newest job. I was determined to catch Trina as soon as she arrived so I could get her to keep the news under wraps.

I was in the laundry room putting a load of towels when Jackson moved behind me. His hands bunched up the back of my skirt revealing my lacey thong.

“You better hurry. Trina should be here any minute.”

Jackson’s hands stilled as they started to caress my ass. “You’re not going to fight me?” The awe in his voice made me smile.

  “Only if you don’t hurry.”

My panties were pushed to the side and Jackson entered me in one thrust. I leaned against the dryer as Jackson pounded against me. Jackson leaned over me kissing and nipping my neck as my pussy quivered around him.

“Fuck you feel so good. I’ve been dreaming of this all day.” Jackson’s voice was harsh in my ears skating across my already sensitive nerves.

His finger found my clit and he circled it using my wetness as lube. My knees started to shake and I crumpled on the dryer not able to hold myself up.

“Come for me,” Jackson ordered in my ear before tracing his tongue along the shell.

  I bit my f
orearm and came over his dick. Jackson cursed quietly in my ear before pulling out and cumming on a towel I had just folded out of the dryer.

With infinite care he pulled my panties back in place and smoothed my dress back down. Throwing the towel in the washer, before hugging me tightly to him. I let him hold me up still not trusting my legs to keep my upright.

“I can’t get enough of you,” he told me before kissing me deeply.

He lifted me up on the washer and stepped in between my legs not letting my lips go. We kissed and I poured all my feeling for him in it. Jackson sucked on my lip licking it tasting me.

There was a knock on the door and we pulled apart. Jackson put his forehead against mine. Our eyes were so close Jackson had one green globe staring into my soul.

“We will finish this later.” He kissed my forehead helped me hop down and held my hand out of the laundry room dropping it before we hit the living room.

  “I’m so pissed,” Trina screamed.

I shook my head trying to get her to shut up but she was on a roll and wasn’t going to stop.

“I told Mr. Ranazzi he was being an idiot for taking the job away from you. What a bunch of fucking bitches.”

“What are you talking about?” Dean asked kissing Trina and pulling her into his arms.

“It’s nothing,” I interrupted hoping she would get the hint.

“Nothing, they took the job away from her. Apparently someone found out about the stupid affair she had and they refused to work with her. Mr. Ranazzi felt it would be best to remove the offer so nobody at the job would feel uncomfortable.”

“That’s fucking bullshit,” Dean roared his face turning bright red with anger.

I chanced a glance at Jackson and his face was shut off of emotions. Even with the void I could tell he was pissed at me for not telling him about the job and I was going to have to suck up to him.

“Can you sue them?” Dean asked.

“No, in the contract it was stated both of us could terminate the offer at any time. I just didn’t expect it to be terminated before I could even start it.”

“Lucy, you can stay here as long as you need to,” Dean came over and kissed me on the top of the head.

Jackson took steps closer to me but didn’t reach out to touch me. And I wished Dean and Trina would leave so I could talk to him.

“Dean, I appreciate you letting me stay here but I’m not strapped for cash. I told you that before. My freelance jobs are picking up and honestly I’m relieved I don’t have to go back to work.”

“Why did you take the job then?” Trina asked crossing her arms over her chest.

“Don’t be mad at me, Trina.”

Her face was hard and her eyes were narrowed. It seemed Jackson wasn’t the only one who was butt hurt with the news.

“I took the job because I didn’t trust myself to keep my freelance jobs going in order to support me. I’m actually busier than I’ve ever been and now that I don’t have a job I have to report to I can keep my business growing. I’m going to be sad I don’t get to see you everyday.”

Dean went back and put his hands on Trina’s shoulder. “Well, if she would move in with me like I’ve asked you would get to see her everyday.”

Trina gave him a large smile and kissed him on the cheek.

“You asked her to move in?” I asked shocked at how fast Dean was moving.

“I did but I haven’t convinced her yet.”

Trina rolled her eyes. “It’s so soon. I want this to last so I don’t want to rush anything.”

They kissed and I turned to give them privacy. Jackson raised an eyebrow and I gave him a small smile whispering I’m sorry.

“We better get going,” Jackson said breaking up the lovebirds.

He smiled at me and I held back a laugh. He had broken them up just like they had done to us unknowingly the last couple days.

“Trina and I are going out after so you two are going to have to drive together,” Dean led Trina out of house and into his car while Jackson followed me out.

“That’s fine with me.” Jackson said coming up behind me and grabbing my ass.

Jackson let Dean and Trina drive away before starting his truck. He turned toward me and stared at me until he made me fidget with my fingers.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” he asked when he noticed I wasn’t going to confess to him.

“I didn’t have a chance. If you remember your dick was in me the moment you saw me. I wasn’t really thinking about anything but you while you pounded me against the dryer.”

Jackson unbuckled my seatbelt and slid me over to him. He kissed my neck and held me in his arms. “You could have called me. I have a phone.”

“I didn’t think it was such a big deal to call you. I was telling the truth when I said I was relieved they took the job from me.”

“Has anything else happened that you need to tell me?”

I bit my lip and shook my head.

“Lucy,” he cajoled me but I kept my mouth shut.

“You know you can trust me.”

“Can I?” If he was going to give me the opening I was going to take it.

“Yes,” he answered with determination. “I know we don’t have time to talk about everything but you and I need to sit down and have a long talk. Soon.”

“I agree. I have some stipulations I want to add to what ever the hell this is.”

Jackson tensed against me and we both sat in truck in silence before Jackson exhaled and put the truck in drive.

“Are you sure you’re okay with losing this job?”

  “I am.”

  “Can I ask you something?”

I nodded worry wiggling around me.

“Why are you living with Dean if you have the means to move out?”

“I could ask you the same thing. But the answer is simple I don’t want to live by myself. I like having people around.”

  “I get that.”

“Now are you going to answer the same question?”

He shook his head and shot me a wink. “It’s not time for me to answer that.”

His cryptic answer swirled around in my head until it was in knots when we pulled up in front of my parent’s house.

Jackson opened my door and I had to stop myself from leaning in for a kiss. He mouthed later at me threw his arm around my shoulders as we walked up to the door.

  14

My mom ran out of the house and hugged me and Jackson.

“I missed you.” She kissed my cheek and got Jackson’s too before turning around and leading us into the house.

Dean had his arm around Trina and was beaming as he talked to my dad. My dad stopped him and came over to hug me and Jackson.

“I hope you are ready for your mom. She has some surprises for you.”

“Can you give me anything more?” I asked him eyeing my mom wearily.

“She made me promise I wouldn’t say anything.”

“Dad,” I whined giving him my puppy dog face I knew he couldn’t resist.

“Don’t try your tricks on me, Lucy. Just smile and know your mom loves you very much.”

My mom came back over and studied me. She ran her hand over my hair and tried to straighten my dress. “I bought this new lipstick and it doesn’t really work for me. I think it would look amazing on you.”

“Mom what are you up to?” Warning bells jangled in my head and I glanced at my dad trying to get back up.

My dad was engaged in a conversation with Trina where he was waving his arms around.

“I think your brother’s smitten. You know all I want is for you and your brother to find someone to live your life with.”

“I know mom. And Trina’s great.”

“She is lovely. Now it’s your turn.” My mom went to fix my hair again and I moved out of her way.

“Come in the kitchen while I’m cooking.” My mom walked away with confidence she knew I was going to follow her.

  “Do you need anything to
drink?” I asked Jackson when I walked by him.

  “I’ll take a beer.”

We were smiling at each other and I knew I looked like a goofy school girl. I tore myself away from him before I embarrassed myself in front of my family.

I grabbed a beer out of the fridge and went to hand it Jackson. Our fingers brushed and energy zapped through me. My body tightened and I lowered my eyes before going back in the kitchen.

My mom rolled her eyes when I made my way back to her. “Lucy, it’s time for you to get over your infatuation with Jackson.”

Startled my head shot up and I felt my cheeks heat up. “What do you mean?” My voice was shrill as my throat wasn’t allowing much air to go through it.

“Oh, honey. You’ve been following Jackson around since the day he came over with Dean. Sometimes I wonder if the reason you haven’t dated was because you were holding out for Jackson. Is that why you’re still living with your brother? And by the way, why are you living with your brother?”

The breath wooshed out of me like my mom had punched me in the gut. I wiped my hands on the front of my skirt and poured a glass of wine chilling in the fridge.

“And seeing the way you just chugged a whole glass of wine I’m thinking I’m onto something about Jackson. Or was it the reason you’re hiding out at your brother’s house?” She hugged me and I took the sympathy she was offering.

“Mom,” I hissed and glance out of the kitchen to make sure Jackson wasn’t in hearing distance. He didn’t need to know about my mom’s hypothesis and how close to the truth she was. And I didn’t want my dad to know what I did with Richard.

I poured another glass of wine and sipped it instead of downing it like I wanted to. “Richard was a married.”

“Lucy!” My mom screeched. “Richard, your boyfriend?”

  I nodded.

  “Oh, Lucy.”

“I swear I didn’t know he was married. It caught me off guard. Well his wife did when she suckered punched me at a restaurant.”

“Of course you didn’t know. I’m so sorry. I thought you were moving on from your Jackson infatuation when you talked about Richard. That asshole. I’ll kill him. No I’ll have dad kill him.”
