Ember's Burn: A Steel Demons MC Novel Page 19

by Annelise Reynolds

“Ahhhhh,” I screamed, my body exploding around the thrusting digits, the stretch of my newly invaded hole bringing a touch of pain to so much pleasure.

“YES, JASON! YES!” The table held me captive and my body rocked against it. Still he moved his fingers, drawing out my orgasm. My breaths were short and choppy as I lay there limp, spent, trying to catch my breath.

I felt him move behind me, releasing my hair, and moving down my body. His thumb went deeper into my ass as his other fingers left my cunt. I felt his hair across my thigh just before I felt his tongue flick over my clit. The first touch of his tongue made me shriek from the shock of cold against my heated flesh.

“OH MY GOD,” I moaned as I moved my hips against him, riding his sucking lips and lapping tongue. I grasped the silk material of the ties in my palms, seeking to hold myself to this planet, because what he was doing with his mouth threatened to send me out of this world.

He placed his fingers back in my pussy, his thumb just barely in my ass, but enough to make me feel it all. When he gently bit down on my clit, lights flashed behind my eyes and blood thundered through my ears. I screamed as my body shot off to heights I never knew were possible.

“Oh fuck, baby, yeah,” I heard Jason say, as he continued to work on my body. “God, you just squirted for me, McKenzie, that’s so fucking hot.” I shivered, and felt him release my legs. “One day, I’m going to take this ass with my cock, baby, but right now, I just need to be inside you.”

“Yes,” I gasped as he lifted me. I felt the head of his cock against my clit as he rubbed it against me, gathering my cream on his iron-hard cock. When he finally pushed his length inside me, my pussy was beyond sensitive, it grasped at his length. Every ridge and vein on his stiff pole shot electricity through my nerves. It was so much pleasure on my sensitized pussy that it bordered on pain.

“There’s only you, McKenzie. You are all that’s ever mattered.” He thrust in me hard, and moved one hand away from my hips, ripping off the mask, and grabbing my hair, pulling back hard enough to hurt, gentle enough to excite instead of scare.

“You are mine, McKenzie,” he chanted over and over again as his eyes bore into mine and he continued to pound into my pussy. “Cum for me, baby,” he said, before leaning over and crashing his lips to mine. I tasted myself on his lips, our flavors melded together into a taste that was all us, it sent me over. We came together. A tidal wave of passion, desire, anger, love, and lust ripped through us both.

“God, McKenzie,” he groaned against my lips as my body milked him dry. I was moaning and panting, writhing beneath him as tremors surged through me.

Jason let my legs down, and released my hair to the side. I lay down, spent, unable to move. He pressed kisses across my back and shoulders as he lay over me, the heat of his body seeping into mine from the cold of the room. His hands sliding down my arms, leaving gooseflesh in their wake. The rough, worked skin of his palms gently scratched at my smooth skin, the sensation left me shivering. He released the ties around each of my wrists.

“Jason,” I whimpered around panting breaths.

“Not yet, McKenzie.” He kissed my temple, then moved away long enough to roll me on my back. Palm to palm, with my legs wrapped around his waist, we kissed, slow and languidly. Our tongues tasted, our lips melded. When he slipped into my body again, it was a gentle, building passion, just as intense and pleasurable, only softer. It was more than the heat and fire that burned me, it was two souls joining as one. I pulled back from the kiss, looking at Jason, his blue eyes boring into mine.

“I love you, Jason,” I whispered, cupping his cheek and running my thumb across his full bottom lip. He kissed me, his rhythm sped up, taking me higher and higher.

When my sweat-slick skin started to slide on the table with each of his forceful thrusts, he broke the kiss. “Hold on,” he said, lifting me into his arms as if I weighed nothing. I wound my arms around his neck as he carried me to the next room and laid me on the bed. Jason made love to me, cracking the final barrier between us. I couldn’t help the flow of tears as I came with him. The beauty of the moment, of having what I hadn’t had since my mother, brought me to tears. I had a family. I had a home.

McKenzie fell asleep in my arms. I laid there with her draped across my chest, twisting a strand of her hair through my fingers. The cold from the AC mixed with the heat of our bodies, together, was perfection. My body was exhausted from everything, but my mind wouldn’t shut off. Until I could bury the last bastard that hurt her, the caged beast inside me would not settle.

I slid out from under her, tucking the sheets around her for warmth. My phone had been vibrating for the past three hours, but I ignored it. Picking it up, I had three missed calls and a shit ton of messages from the guys.

Grit: Phoenix wanted to talk to McKenzie, but she’s not answering. Everything ok?

Stone: Y’all didn’t catch up. If you need us, call.

Grit: I swear Phoenix is going to chop off my balls if you don’t call us back. I’m holding you responsible for that shit, man.

The other messages were more of the same, the last message I received was from Hack.

Hack: Enjoy your night. I called off the search party.

Dammit, there is nothing Hack can’t do on the computer. Not that I really tried to hide where we are, I just had other things on my mind at the time. My phone rang in my hand, Ink flashed across the screen.

  “Yeah?”

  “Roper’s gone.”

  “What’s going on?”

“He’s headed to the airport. Something about needing to get to his cousin. She’s in some kind of trouble.”

I dragged my hand down my face, the day catching up to me just as more shit was being piled on. “Figures. Seems like all the women in our lives right now lead to trouble,” I smarted off, scratching the annoying stubble from the day before. “What’s going on with his cousin?”

“Don’t know, man. He took off like a bat out of hell and didn’t stop to answer questions. Just said she was in trouble and he had to go get her. Since then, he hasn’t answered his phone. ”

  “I’ll call Hack.”

“I knew you’d do that, so I called. Hack said he bought a ticket to Chicago. His plane leaves in forty-five minutes. From there, he’s headed to Grand Forks, North Dakota.”

“Do we know where his cousin is?”

“No. Hack is looking into it, but we haven’t found anything yet. Oh, and Hack said that we are fixing to start getting charged higher fees at night if we keep this shit up. I think I may have interrupted him.” He grinned.

“I’ll catch him at the airport, find out what’s going on or if he needs the club.” I hung up the phone, disregarding the threat from Hack, and quickly took a shower. Steam filled the bathroom. I wrapped the towel around my waist and went back into the bedroom. McKenzie was lying there on her back, her arms thrown up, hair spread across the pillow, and her breasts free from the thin sheets. Her nipples were hard from the cold air in the room. I remembered the taste of her, and my mouth watered for more. My dick stiffened, but I had to ignore it for now. I wrote a note for her and left it on the bed in case she woke up while I was gone.

The ride to the airport was easy, as traffic was minimal this time of night. I found Roper at the check in counter. “Going somewhere?”

“Hack,” he said, not surprised to see me. Whatever happened with his family cut him deep. I could see it in the tension of his shoulders. His eyes were red, and unusually glossy. “I’ve got to go get my cousin.”

  “What’s going on?”

“She’s in trouble. I’m getting her and bringing her back here or to my parents in Colorado. It’s her choice, but she’s not staying in Devil’s Pond. Then I’m going back to find out what the hell happened.”

  “You need backup?”

“No. I’m just getting her out, for now.”

“You should have let one of the brothers come with you.
If I could, I’d be heading on that plane with you, but I’m headed back to Arlington with Stone and Legend tomorrow.”

Roper picked up his duffle and slung it over his shoulder. It was a familiar gesture, one we all did many times in our years of deployment and missions. “Is that what you’re telling Ember, then? You’re going to Arlington?”

  “We are going to Arlington.”

“But you aren’t stopping there.” The airport was dead, a janitor was cleaning the floors, and people were spread out in different areas, sleeping, waiting for their own flights. I walked with Roper as far as I could.

“No, I’m not.” It wasn’t right, sending a brother out there alone, I could feel it. Every instinct told me to go with him, or get someone up to North Dakota. Something was coming that we weren’t prepared for. “Look, man, wait a few hours. Take a brother with you. Don’t do this on your own. We’re a team, a family, we look out for our own.”

“I know, brother. I’m not going to fight. Not yet, at least. I’m simply getting my cousin out of harm’s way. If I need backup, I’ll call.”

  “Stubborn ass.”

  “It runs in the club.”

“Don’t I know it, and we pick women who are the same damn way.” Flight 3-5-2 to Chicago, now boarding. Flight 3-5-2. “Get yours and your cousin’s asses back here quick. We have a celebration coming soon.” I hugged my brother, wishing him well on his mission, but still the unease stayed with me.

When I got back to the hotel, McKenzie was no longer in the bed. I found her in the bathroom, soaking in the tub, the water jets bubbling around her. Her hair piled up high on her head, the music was playing softly, her eyes were closed, and she was sound asleep.

I reached through the now lukewarm water and pulled the plug and switched off the jets, letting the water drain completely before lifting McKenzie into my arms. She stirred when I picked her up, and even more when I set her on her feet. I wrapped the huge, fluffy towel around her wet body, and laid her in the bed. I used another towel to dry her still wet exposed skin. She didn’t open her eyes, but she smiled and sighed my name.

I stripped my clothes, and slid into bed behind her, wrapping her in my arms and holding her close. She smelled like soap; sweet and succulent. I buried my nose in her neck and inhaled deeply. Drawing her in and relaxing my body against hers, I fell into an exhausted sleep.

We woke up and made love again, before heading back to Belle.

At the clubhouse, Legend, Stone, and the boys were all ready to head out, just waiting on me to arrive.

“You ready?” Legend said, no sooner than the bike came to a stop.

  “Yeah, you get my text?”

  “Done. It’s in the truck.”

“Good.” I held McKenzie’s hand to help her off the bike before climbing off myself. I wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her close, cupped her cheek and kissed her hard, holding her face captive as I plundered her mouth with my tongue. “I’ve got to go to Arlington for a while. I shouldn’t be any longer than a week, two at the most,” I said against her lips before kissing her again. My cock was rock hard, but it would have to wait until I got back.

  “What’s in Arlington?”

I knew the question was coming, now was the chance to tell her the truth or lie. The truth, and she would try to stop me. A lie could be exposed later, and when she found out he was murdered, she would know I was involved.

“The less you know, the better,” I hedged, evading the question with a truth I could give her. “I love you, McKenzie.”

“I love you, too. Come back to me, quick.”

“As fast as I can fly, baby.” I kissed her again, and got in Legend’s truck. New York was too far away to ride, so we planned on driving instead. We had cash for gas and food, and taking turns behind the wheel would keep us off the grid as well as getting us there as soon as possible without stopping for hotels along the way.

“You sure you don’t want someone else going with y’all?” Grit asked through the open car window.

“No, I need you here to take care of our girls.”

  He nodded. “Happy hunting.”

“Yeah, brother. The house, can you have it livable by the time I get back?”

“Anxious to get McKenzie out of the clubhouse?”

“Something like that.” I didn’t say anything about the ring my mother had given me, it was the same ring dad gave her all those years ago. I wanted to put it on McKenzie’s finger, and when I ended this, I would.

I watched Titan and Legend drive off following Stone and the other brothers. Su and Gig went back to get their things and tie up loose ends in Arlington.

“Why are Titan and Legend going with them?” Phoenix asked, wrapping her arm around my shoulder, offering me comfort and support.

“I don’t know. Titan wouldn’t tell me. He said it was better if I didn’t know.”

“What are you thinking?” I looked my friend in the eye, a silent conversation passing between us. “Yeah, ok. I’m thinking that too. Grit has been testy the last few days. My guess is they’ve had something planned for a while.”

“I would wager they had too. Roper left. Titan didn’t tell me where he went, but he left the hotel last night to meet up with him at the airport.”

“I heard something bad happened to his family, but nobody is saying much.”

  “I don’t think anybody knows.”

“Come on, let’s get to work.” It was time. It would be my first real day back since the attack, and I was ready. We stopped by the house. I showered and got dressed while Phoenix made breakfast. Anita was staying more at Gavel’s house than here lately.

Hannah and Piper were already in the kitchen preparing food for the day. They had formed a close friendship over the past months. With the music cranked up, the four of us prepped the restaurant and bar for the day. It went faster having all four of us on hand to do it. Again, guilt struck me at having left them to do everything while I sorted my shit out. Phoenix nudged me and smiled, knowing where my head was going.

“So, Piper.” Phoenix looked over at her with a wicked grin. “What’s going on with you and Legend?”

She shrugged. “Nothing. He’s only here for a short time, and he only wants sex anyway. Been there, done that. I’m not going to be just another notch on his bedpost. I don’t care how legendary his dick is.”

“Ummm, that’s not exactly true,” I said, bringing the attention to me. “Legend transferred chapters yesterday. He’s part of the Belle chapter now, he’s here to stay.”

“That doesn’t change anything.” Piper’s voice quivered as she spoke. She cleared her throat, and fiddled with the necklace dangling between her breasts. “I’m a piece of ass to itch a scratch. That’s how he sees me, and I’m not going to be that for him.”

“How do you know that’s how he sees you?”

“It’s what he told Titan. I’m ok with that, but I’m not going to let him close enough to hurt me, much less Declan.” With that, the conversation was over, and we went on to discuss the upcoming holiday. Halloween was around the corner, and we decided to throw a costume party at the bar. “I can’t go, but you girls have fun.”

“What do you mean you can’t come to the party?”

“I’ve got to take Declan trick or treating. He already has his costume.” She rolled her eyes and told us. I couldn’t hold in my laughter, and neither could anyone else. My side was hurting so bad, from laughing so hard.

“What’s so funny?” Becky said coming in the front door, dressed for work.

  “Declan’s choice of Halloween costume.”

She slid into the booth beside me and grabbed my water, taking a sip. “Help yourself,” I said sarcastically.

She laughed and winked at me. “I will. So what was Declan’s choice?” The laughter started again, and Piper just shook her head, a small smile across her face.

“A biker,” Phoenix grinned, answering her question.

As the staff came in, so did the customers. We had a steady stream of college kids during the lunch rush, along with people from the town. At about two, it died down somewhat, and we were able to take turns eating our own lunches.

Phoenix and Becky split off to go work in the bar, when it opened at one.

“Who’s that?” Piper asked me when she noticed the woman sitting in a booth wearing a huge cast on her left leg. She had unnaturally red hair, and tan skin. The look worked well for her, giving her a badass appearance. The leather jacket, resting on the booth seat beside her, didn’t hurt the badass vibe, and the tattoos running up and down her arms definitely gave that impression as well.

“No clue.” She didn’t seem familiar to me, but I haven’t been here that long, so that’s not saying much.

“I wonder if she’s part of another MC. Is there another one in this area?”

“I don’t know that either, but she certainly fits the part more than I do.”

“Sorry, but yeah, she does.” I stuck my tongue out at Piper and walked toward the woman with my notepad in hand.

“Welcome to Phoenix Grill. What can I get for you?”

“Coffee and a cheeseburger, can I have grilled onions and jalapeno, with cheddar jack cheese, pickles, tomato, and avocado on the side?”

“Sure, we can do that. Fries, onion rings, mac and cheese, or mixed vegetables?”

“Onion rings.” She handed me back the menu, and looked down at her phone. I noticed the awesome tattoo on her right arm, but I couldn’t see the top of it.

“I’m taking my break, after I deliver this order.” I waited on a few other tables while I waited for the red-head’s food to be finished. “Got it covered?” I asked Piper.

  “Yeah, it’s slowed down.”

I set the redhead’s food down. “Mind if I join you?”
