Cobra- The Vigilante Box Set 2

“I’ll take care of that and even wrap it up nice and pretty so you can leave it for him,” Jordan added.
“I’ll have a burner phone, so he can contact me as Cobra,” I said.
“He may not want to work with you. You know, considering he’s been looking to lock your ass up,” Jordan said.
“He will if he sees what I saw. And if he’s a cop worth his grit, he’ll work with you,” Bishop said.
I took a deep breath, because this was about to be one hell of a move I was about to make. I really liked Alexi. I mean, reeeeallly liked him, everything about him. I didn’t want to lose what we had, but I needed to do what I had to do. Fuck.
I turned to Jordan. “All right, get that info packet ready with the USB of the video footage. We’ll give Alexi everything we know, and I’ll take it from there.”
“I’m on it,” Jordan said, then went to work on his computer to get the ball rolling.
“Okay, so, what about this guy?” Bishop pointed to Richard, who was really wiggling in his seat now.
I sighed and walked over to the bastard and began undoing his bindings so I could take him to the bathroom. I didn’t remove the gag or earphones. I pulled his pants down and sat his ass on the toilet. He did his business and I left him alone to handle all that. Now that I thought about it, chaining him to the toilet was probably the better idea. That way, Jordan wouldn’t have to be bothered with his ass needing to use it. That was a plan. I gave him a good fifteen minutes, then entered. I was prepared for the smell, hell, I’d smelled worse, but still, it was Richard’s shit smell and nothing I wanted to inhale.
I undid one of his hands so he could wipe his own ass, because I for damn sure wasn’t about to do it. I let him wash his hand, and then dragged him back to the chair so we could begin our interrogation. Again, he was bound to the chair and this time, I removed his earphones and gag.
“You sorry motherfucker!” he blasted out as soon as the ball gag was free.
I laughed. “What, you don’t like my hospitality?”
“You can take your hospitality and shove it up your cunt!” he growled.
“Oooh, you’ve got a mouth on you, I see. Didn’t like having to hold all that in for that long, I take it?”
“Would you have?”
“Well, considering you were trying to torture me to death when our roles were reversed, I doubt if you gave a damn if I pissed myself or not,” I reminded him.
“You’ve got a comeback for everything, don’t you?” he snarled.
“And you always seem to want to get the last word in,” I countered.
“You’re both pretty entertaining to watch, I’ll say that,” Bishop chimed in.
“Who’s that?” Richard asked, and moved his head in the direction of Bishop’s voice. He couldn’t see him because the blindfold was still on.
“Someone who’s helping me take down the Killing Game. Actually, you should be happy that he’s on board. He doesn’t like to kill,” I said.
Richard turned back to me. “So, does that mean you were planning on killing me still?”
“Let’s say that I was very conflicted, but leaning toward keeping my word. If you did, that is,” I answered.
“I have a vested interest in surviving,” Richard said.
“That’s good, because I have some questions,” Bishop said as he took a few steps closer to Richard.
“I’m not going to tell you anything that I haven’t already told your friend,” Richard stated.
“Indulge me, I insist.” Bishop placed a hand on Richard’s shoulder. “Can you do that for me?”
“You can go fuck yourself.”
“Play nice, Richard. Remember, we’re taking you to Russia with us and my friend here is one of your bodyguards.”
Richard was breathing hard now, but quiet for the first time since I had freed his mouth. I knew he was weighing his options, and I hoped Bishop was rummaging around in his mind to see what was locked inside there. “Ask your damn questions. Still, my answers will remain the same, but if you want to waste time, so be it.”
“I’m just needing to get my feet wet,” Bishop said. “Who brought you into the organization?”
Ah, the question I’d been wanting to know.
“I’ll tell you when I’m ready. Next question,” Richard replied with a smirk.
“Was it a woman or man?” Bishop pressed.
“Your mother. Next question.” Richard was one stubborn piece of shit.
I watched in silence as Bishop continued to grill Richard.
“Who are the people in charge of the Killing Game?”
“I don’t know.”
“How many males? How many females make up the Board of Directors?”
“Two of each. That much I know, and that’s all I know.”
“What other recruiters are out there?”
“What the fuck is this? You think we all sit and compare stats over tea?”
“Do you know of any other recruiters?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know.”
“I would, that’s why I’m asking.”
“Well, that’s information you’ll be getting in Russia once I’m safe.”
“What bank account do you use to pay them? I’m sure you have a membership fee.”
“I work only with cash. I don’t leave paper trails. I’m sure you’ve figured that out,” Richard stated proudly.
“Who do you pay?”
“Nice try. Next question I don’t plan on answering?”
“How much do you pay?”
“None of your business,” Richard spat back.
“Do you plan on keeping your word in Russia? Are you going to double cross us?”
Richard huffed. “You don’t double cross me, I don’t double cross you. Like I’ve already said ad nauseum.”
“Who have you recruited in the past?”
“I’m not telling you that information.”
“At least, give me a number,” Bishop pressed.
“Probably fifteen people over my ten-year membership. I wasn’t always a recruiter, you know.”
“Ah, so you’ve worked your way up in the organization to reach that level?”
“They value their employees, what can I say?”
Richard was cocky with his flippant answers and had no idea Bishop was reading his mind the whole time. I just hoped he was gathering primo intel and not a bunch of “lalalalalalala”.
“You weren’t lying when you said you weren’t going to be answering my questions, were you?” Bishop asked him.
“I’m a man of my word,” Richard stated.
“I see.” Bishop removed his hand from Richard’s shoulder. I guessed he had what he wanted for now.
“Might as well gag him again. He really isn’t going to cooperate.”
“Hey, I’m cooperating plenty, as far as I’m concerned,” Richard fussed.
“Shut up, bitch,” I snapped and placed the gag back into his mouth and covered his ears with the earphones.
Bishop and I made our way to the kitchen, far enough so I was sure Richard wouldn’t be able to hear a damned thing, even if he was straining. The headphones were military grade, the best of the best, but I never wanted to discuss my plan within earshot of him. Better safe than sorry.
“Please tell me you learned something from all that,” I asked Bishop.
He smiled. “Plenty. Still, there was stuff I couldn’t get out of him, like the names of the four directors. But I did get the name of the person who recruited him, the person he gives his membership dues to, how much he pays, and two other recruiters in the Game. I also know who he’s brought into the organization, the fifteen people, and how long it took him to become a recruiter.”
“What about if he plans to double cross us?” I asked.
“He doesn’t know. He is afraid for his life and is willing to go with either side who will let him live. He’s leaning toward us,” Bishop said.
“Well, damn, that is beautifu
l as fuck, right there. You plan on giving me all that info?” I hoped he didn’t have any stipulations of his own with sharing.
“Of course. Your pretty-as-hell boyfriend can look up the information on them and we can pay them a visit. After Russia, of course. The person who recruited him is Felice Hawkins.”
I recorded the name into my memory so I could tell Jordan. “Who else?”
“The other two recruiters he knows are Donald McDonald and Lena Richter. The person who he gives his membership dues to… well, I’m guessing this isn’t his real name, but he goes by Mr. Dark. He pays him fifty grand monthly. The higher up in the organization you go, the less you have to pay. It’s one of their perks.”
I rolled my eyes because that name just lacked pizazz. “Yeah, I doubt that is his real name, but it’s a start. Still, it’s better than Donald McDonald, sounds like his fucking parents just gave up.”
Bishop laughed. “I agree.” When his laughter died down, he smiled. “So, what’s next?”
“I take this package of info to Alexi, as we’re pressed for time and every second counts. We’re flying out to Russia tomorrow. I know he’ll call me, and we’ll meet.”
“I still think you should come clean. If you really care about this man, the deception continuing will only make matters worse. I mean, what do you plan on doing? What if it gets even more serious and you fall in love if you’re not already in love? He’s going to want to know how you spend you free time. Do you even have a day job?”
“Not yet. Vigilantism kind of takes up most of my time.”
“Well, see what I mean? He’s a cop, and they’re an inquisitive bunch. How long do you think you can keep up this charade of a double life?”
“You just met me, and you think you can give me life advice?”
Bishop shrugged. “I honestly do respect what you’re trying to do here, or I wouldn’t be here. Truth is, I need your head in the game and not on him. Worrying about him and how you’re going to keep the lie up is just bad for business. Just bring him in.”
“You act like you know him and what he’ll do. You don’t.”
“But you do. Will he help or hinder?”
I had to honestly think about that question before I could answer. Apart from fucking Alexi’s brains out and having him fuck mine out, I was still listening in on him. He was perplexed over the case and wondering what tied Cicely and Walter together. He’d been looking through all of their records, business and personal, and couldn’t find a damned thing that connected them. He couldn’t explain why they’d been targeted by a murdering vigilante. Perhaps bringing him in was the right move, and not just on the surface, but full exposure. God help me if this goes wrong. I didn’t know what I’d do.
“So, what are you going to do?” Bishop asked me.
“I’ll wing it.” I turned and walked over to Jordan before he could say anything else with his talkative ass. “Hey, baby, got some new names for you to look up.”
Jordan smiled and rubbed his hands together. “Oooh, I like new names.”
“You’ll love these.” I gave him the list of names Bishop had given me and watched as Jordan’s fingers blazed across the keyboard at speeds I could barely comprehend.
Bishop came over to us. “Here are the fifteen names of those Richard recruited.” He rattled off all the names, ten male, five female, and all were on my shit list.
“Just give me some time and I’ll have everything I can get on these assholes. I can tell you that none are living here. Lena lives in Munich, Germany, Donald lives in New York—Manhattan, to be exact, and Felice lives in London, England. These other fifteen are also all over the world. Good thing is, eight are right here in America.”
“So, I’ll be doing some globe-trotting.”
“Good thing you have plenty of fake and reputable passports,” Jordan said.
I kissed his temple. “Thanks to you, I do.”
“Do you have the info pack for Alexi?”
“It just finished printing up.” Jordan pulled some papers from the printer and slipped them into a brown envelope and placed a USB drive inside too. He then sealed it. “Let’s hope he does the right thing with this.” he handed me the packet and I took it.
“Fingers crossed.”
“You’re going to give it to him tonight?”
I nodded. “I’ll leave you here with Bishop. This is something I need to take care of alone.”
“You trust me with a stranger?”
I scoffed. “One you’ve been cock gobbling with your eyes since he walked in the door? I think you two will get along fine. Besides, if anything happens to you, I will search the ends of this earth and make him suffer unlike anything he could ever imagine.”
“Hey, I can hear you, asshole. I’m standing right here,” Bishop fussed.
“I know,” I said, not caring.
Jordan smiled. “Awwww, you say the most romantic things.”
“What can I say, I’m charming that way.” I kissed him again, this time on those lips that could bring me to my knees when they were wrapped around my cock. I wondered if Bishop would get to taste those lips while I was gone. At least J would have someone there to help him watch over Richard. That was a good thing. I stood up and turned. “I hope I can trust you two together?” I said to Bishop, who was standing like a statue, arms crossed over his chest.
“We might get a little frisky. Would you mind?” Bishop said.
Bold, okay. “J can fuck who he wants.”
“Whoa, I was just talking a game of Twister,” Bishop joked.
“Yeah, I know what the fuck you were talking about. Limbs entangled in that shit too and sometimes a cock slips into a hole. Listen, can I borrow that little device you have to modulate your voice?” I asked politely.
He removed the device from his pocket, handing it to me with a sideways glance. “I’m surprised you don’t already have one of these.”
I took the device, slipping it into my pocket. “Well, when you can look like whomever you want and kill those who you’ve targeted, it didn’t quite cross my mind.”
“Sorry I asked.”
I blew him a kiss. “Play nice and…” I stepped closer to Bishop. “If you hurt him in any way—”
“No need to make such threats. I’m not the type. I’ll protect him, don’t worry.”
I gave him some nice eye-contact, then nodded curtly before leaving. I was about to make one of the biggest moves in my life. I just hoped I didn’t end up regretting it. I couldn’t help but ask myself, was this risk worth the reward? What was the reward? Only time would tell.
Chapter Sixteen
I was standing on the rooftop of the adjacent building, waiting for Alexi to come home. I’d already slipped the envelope with all the information about the Killing Game under his door. I had the listening devices with me, so I could hear him when he discovered it. I didn’t get nervous often, but tonight my stomach was aflutter with nerve-wracking butterflies. I really didn’t want to lose what I had with Alexi, but maybe it was my mistake for ever getting mixed up with him in the first damned place. Regardless, I couldn’t undo the past, and I just hoped the future wasn’t going to lead me into a jail cell.
They did have places for people like me, I was sure. Knowing they had a drug they could use against us to suppress our abilities, I was sure they had some sort of prison for Enhanced Humans, or they were working on one. Either way, I wanted nothing to do with that shit. I continued to lean against the ledge of the building, which gave me a nice view inside Alexi’s apartment. The shade was open, and I could see clearly through his kitchen and into the living room from my vantage point.
It was another two hours before he finally brought his fine ass home and the good thing was that he was alone. No partner. That was great for what I had planned for tonight. I used my binoculars to watch him climb out of his Mustang. He looked great behind the wheel of that muscle car, just like he did climbing off his hog. The man oozed masculine sex appeal, and that magn
etism melted my underwear every time. Even now, I wanted to drop to my knees and suck his cock dry of all the cum in his balls. Maybe I’d do that before I revealed who I really was. It might be the last time we ever fucked again. That was if I had the opportunity.
He walked into his apartment over the delicious Mexican restaurant and I waited until I saw the light come on in his living room. I knew he’d entered his apartment and saw the package I had left him. Through my binoculars, I watched him lean down and pick up the envelope with the information that would no doubt blow his fucking mind. He tossed his leather jacket on the sofa and began to open up the package as he walked toward the refrigerator for one of his beers, I bet. Yep, I was right. He was popping the top now and pulling out a kitchen chair to sit down and read the files over. His brow was deeply furrowed as his eyes scanned over the papers. He leaned back, running strong fingers through his pepper and silver hair… mostly silver. Then he covered his mouth as he looked at the photos of the victims. He picked up the USB drive and turned it in his fingers. I wondered what he was thinking at that moment. Would he watch it, or wait for his partner? I hoped he didn’t call anyone else in, as I had made sure to leave explicit rules that it was for his eyes only, and I would be in contact. That was what I wrote on the envelope.
He put the device on the table, then walked away, out of my view. When he returned, he was carrying his laptop, which he placed on the table, and stuck the USB into the slot. Again, I watched his facial expressions change from shock and horror, to disgust and anger. He slammed the laptop closed and took several swigs of his beer. I wondered how much was starting to make sense to him. Like why Cecily and Walter were killed and the manner in which they died. Did he see how poetic my justice was? Did he agree, or would he, on some level, still consider me to be as bad as them?
So many unanswered questions. Time to get some answers. I put the voice modulator on over my Adam’s apple and pulled out my untraceable burner phone and gave my … possible future ex-boyfriend a call. He pulled out his cell and looked at the screen. With a frown, he answered. Yeah, he wouldn’t recognize this number.
