They found a bench and Logan pulled Phaedra over to sit beside him. “I know I said a lot of things I shouldn’t have, but I was hurt. We’re building something here and I felt like you were lying to me by omission. I know that wasn’t your intent. At the time, it felt that way. It occurs to me now that I never asked how you felt.”

“Honestly, I was afraid. I didn’t want you to have to choose between the career you worked so hard for, and us.”

“If I had to make a choice like that, I would be in the wrong career. My job can work around me having a family. Remember, they only make family men partners. They’re not interested in single men, too much of a liability.”

“You’re right. How could I forget?”

“In all of this commotion, I forgot to tell you. We’re starting the process to become partner.”

“What? That is wonderful. Congratulations!” Phaedra threw her arms around Logan, hugging him tightly. She kissed him for good measure.

“Thank you. This is the best month of my life. I find out about a promotion and a new member of my family all at once.”

“I wish we could have shared the information on happier terms.”

“I hate fighting with you, but I wouldn’t change anything about it. I was wrong to put you in that position. I shouldn’t have forced your hand.”

“And I shouldn’t have kept it from you. I didn’t know what to do. I’ve never been pregnant before.”

“Neither have I. Now that we have that out of the way. Are we still friends?”

“Always. As long as we can still be lovers in the night time.”

  “Of course.” Logan laughed.

“Great. Now, what are we going to name this baby?”

“Since we’re in the botanical garden, how about we name her after a flower?”

“Logan, I like the way you think. Let’s go look around. We can name her after the prettiest one we find.”

“I’m afraid we can’t do that.”

  “Why not?”

“Then we would have to name her after you.”

“Oh, Mr. Thomas, flattery will get you everywhere with me.”

  “I know.”

  Afterword

We’ve reached the end of book two. It finished up later than I expected, but I think the story is a lot better for it. I genuinely love these characters and can’t wait to see what comes next for them. I’ve already started book three! I’m several chapters in already.

I could use your help with the next book. As I mentioned at the end of this one, they are going to name their baby after a flower. Do you have a favorite flower that you think would make a great baby name? If so, drop me an email and let me know. If I choose your name, you’ll even be mentioned in the author notes of the next book!

Aside from the next book in this series, I have a lot more work coming. I have a few romantic suspense titles, a full series of bad boy romances, and continuing stories in Vineyard Affairs.

I hope you like all the books, and thanks for reading!
