My One and Only: A Bad Boy Secret Baby Second Chance Romance

How could he be so blinded by revenge and disdain for the woman trying to usurp his position in the publishing world, acting on a lie she’d told him as if there was an ounce of integrity in her entire body.
Renee Rockwell played dirty. It was the first thing Jay said to anyone seeking advice about working with her. She wanted to beat Jay Canton more than she cared to win or excel, and to him it was a sign of weakness.
Somehow, she’d discovered his kryptonite—Kasey—the woman he chased for weeks to work for him, even seeking her out at the strip mall publishing house she was working for. Kasey was a literary star, destined for greatness as far as Jay was concerned. She had an eye for talent, and an incredible way of building relationships with her writers, which led to exceptionally crafted work and a trust between the publishing house and creatives, a rarity in the business.
Bringing Kasey to Passions Publishing was quite possibly Jay’s greatest achievement, and that was a lot to say considering he’d built the company from the ground up with his best friend Mitchell.
Mitch also saw Kasey’s immense value to the company, and strongly encouraged Jay to make it right with her after he’d lashed out at what he’d thought to be her betrayal. She was too strong, too deserving of better to accept his weak apology. And since she’d walked out of Passions Publishing, she had been too strong to so much as request a referral.
Of course, she didn’t need one. After she quit, she informed Jay of her decision to work for Renee, and Mitchell had reported back that she did in fact accept the offer. She was working for the enemy, and there was nothing Jay could do about it. He’d run her off, but accepting blame did nothing for the frustration and emptiness he felt about her departure.
Never had an employee had such an effect on him, but Kasey was much more than a typical employee. Her talent wasn’t all that set her apart. Jay’s memory was filled with details about her, from her delicious scent, to the way she twirled her hair around her finger when she was nervous. He could remember the look on her face when she liked a book, pulling her long brown hair into a ponytail with both hands as she remained focused on the text.
Her body was another story—one that he probably shouldn’t know as her boss. It was a line he’d never crossed before, but of all the regrets he was having a hard time getting over, having sex with Kasey wasn’t one of them. She was worth everything, and if he lost his empire over his decision to take her up on her offer to break the sexual tension between them, he’d have no problem with the sacrifice.
“He really doesn’t want to see anyone,” Jay could hear Jessica outside his office, but the silhouette through the fogged glass door was only growing as the intruder continued to approach his office.
“I don’t care,” he heard Mitchell’s booming voice before the door swung open, revealing his friend and business partner.
What initially looked to be anger quickly faded into concern as he looked on, pausing at the threshold before continuing to the desk. Mitchell usually sat in the leather loveseat across from Jay’s desk but today he walked around the desk, pulling the heavy curtains aside to let the bright sun shine throughout the office.
They were made from fabric sourced in India, but sewn in Paris by a world-famous seamstress. Jay always sought the best, enjoying the luxurious life his billionaire status afforded him. It was rare that he missed an opportunity to tell the story of his beloved drapes, but today he couldn’t have cared less. More concerned about shielding his eyes from the light shining through the large window, he turned, scrunching his face with discomfort.
“What are you doing?” he growled as his friend moved about, tying the fabric with the ropes hanging from the wall.
“I’m reminding you it’s the middle of the day, and you’ve got an empire to run.”
“I know what I have,” Jay said, convincing no one.
“Do you? Because you’ve been holed up in here for weeks, Jay. The staff can sense you’re out of it, and every meeting ends with you being cold to every new idea and suggestion.”
“They don’t have any good ideas. None of them know what they’re doing,” Jay said. But he wanted to say that none of them were Kasey.
On her first day at the company, she’d ignored Jay’s request for her to speak with a writer, something he wasn’t used to an employee doing. To add insult to injury, she assured him the writer she was working on signing would bring in more money than all his other prospects combined.
She was right.
Kasey was bold and confident, borderline arrogant, but she had the right to be. He’d never seen anyone as committed and successful as her, bringing writers from the ranks of nowhere to the top of the charts in what seemed to be overnight success. He was blown away by her ability.
“Are you going to sulk in here forever?” Mitchell asked, disrupting his thoughts.
“I’m not sulking,” Jay responded, his voice devoid of all emotion.
“Jay, we haven’t signed one author since Kasey left. We can’t keep this up and remain the top publishing house in the country!” Mitchell raised his voice before taking a deep breath.
He was used to being the calm one, as Jay more frequently flew off the handle. Of course, none of this was news to Jay. He got the reports and saw how they were falling behind. If it wasn’t for their exceptional lead on their competitors, Passions Publishing would be taking a major hit now.
The publishing industry was fickle that way, one bad quarter and you’re dethroned. After a decade on top, he didn’t want to relinquish his dominance, but for the first time, winning just wasn’t enough.
“I blew it, Mitchell,” he finally said, shaking his head as the final conversation with Kasey replayed in his mind.
“You did. I won’t lie about that. But you have to move on.”
“Move on?” Jay’s head snapped up, his brows racing to meet each other in search of understanding.
“Well, what are you going to do, then?” Mitchell shot back, putting pressure on the friend he’d always admired.
“I don’t know what to do,” Jay sighed, as he admitted the unthinkable. He was Jay Canton, he always knew what to do, or at least Mitchell thought he did.
“You have to get her back.”
That got Jay’s attention, as he realized his best friend had switched roles. Mitchell was always Jay’s go to advisor when it came to women, his happy marriage being all the proof Jay needed to vet his qualifications on the topic.
There was no shame in bachelorhood, but Jay knew he had missed the part of life where you get to know the opposite sex, spending his college days locked in a dorm room while he built his publishing house.
Mitchell had a point. This entire time Jay had been too passive, waiting on Kasey to come to him, but he needed to make a move and get her back, if that was what he wanted. And it was. More than anything in the world, he wanted to make things right between the two of them. He wanted her forgiveness, and even more, he wanted to see her every day, the way he did when she worked for him.
“You’re right. I’m going to get her back.” It was the last thing he said to Mitchell before walking out of his office with the confident stride he’d lacked for two weeks. Mitchell smiled as he watched his partner return, knowing Jay’s determination was unwavering when he set himself a goal.
Chapter 22
Kasey
“Come here,” his voice was so sensual, yet commanding, Kasey could feel her body reacting to his words as she walked across the immaculately decorated office.
Jay Canton wasn’t one for sparing an expense when it came to impressing clients, and his office was a clear indication of that. Kasey was floored the first time she‘d walked into the massive room, which was larger than her first apartment. Of course, to him it was just an office, but to Kasey it was a glimpse into a life she had dreamed of since she first broke into the publishing industry.
It took every ounce of control for her not to stare through the seemingly endless windows, admiring the skyline o
f the city she loved. It did not go unnoticed that Jay had reserved the best view for himself, and somehow she liked that about him. He wasn’t modest because he didn’t need to be. Jay Canton had earned the life he casually flaunted, and Kasey was seduced by his confidence.
“Yes?” she’d asked, after her feet carried her across the plush carpet.
Jay’s eyes were clouded with lust, a detail she picked up on the second she crossed his threshold. Reaching across his desk, Jay pushed a button and Kasey heard a sound from behind her, which prompted her to turn.
“Just giving us some privacy,” he explained. Of course, Jay Canton could lock his office door remotely.
“What is it?” she forced her shoulders back, hoping to convey defiance.
“I needed to see you,” Jay stood, not believing her tough act as he made his way around the grand desk she knew must have cost a fortune.
“About what?” Kasey shot back quickly, but her feet were planted firmly as he approached her with a patience she could only dream of. There was never a reason for Jay to rush, he was always composed, even when he looked ready to pounce, as he did now.
“You did well on the conference call today,” he said, circling her.
Forcing a deep breath, Kasey felt her shoulders rise and fall as she tried to anticipate Jay’s movements without turning her head. The hairs on her arms stood tall as she anticipated and yearned for his touch.
This was wrong, and she knew it. He was her boss, but the desire pumping between her legs couldn’t care less about titles or ethics.
“Turn around,” he ordered calmly, and she turned slowly without hesitation.
“What is this about?” she asked, licking her lips as she took in all that was Jay Canton—his muscular stature towered over her small frame, as his perfectly styled jet-black hair framed a face meant for magazines. Dark blue eyes pierced through her as she all but melted right in front of him, praying he could not sense the desperation coursing through her.
Luckily, he made a move before she had to beg, which she was more than willing to do. His lips found hers as if they’d been searching for years—planting a needy and sloppy kiss as he hastily reached for the hem of her dress, tugging at the fabric as he reached beneath, groaning when he cupped her pussy, feeling her warmth and wetness all for him.
Kasey panted, already exhausted from the game he seemed to enjoy playing with her. She wasn’t a girl who wanted much, so to make her feel desire to the point of begging was more than she could handle.
How could he have such a hold on her, when she’d made it clear she didn’t want a relationship with him? It was only physical, but every second around him only proved that it was so much more than sex.
“I want you,” he said when he finally released her lips. His voice was low and husky; he was struggling to keep his composure just as she was.
“Yes.” It was all she could muster—more than consent, it was a request, an admission that she too wanted him. She couldn’t stop staring at his perfect lips. She yearned to feel them crash against her own as they both gave in to the need burning in the air around them.
Without speaking another word, Jay pulled the dress over her head, leaving Kasey in nothing but the black lace lingerie she had dressed in with the hopes that he might see it.
“Lace,” he growled, the left side of his mouth curving upwards with approval.
She found her confidence, slowly turning to give him a full view of her body. The lace didn’t cover much—just the most sensual parts of her body. Thin straps traced lines over her hips and plunged down to form a sheer triangle over her pussy. The bra was less of a bra and more just lace nipple covers suspended between a strips of elastic.
Jay’s eyes wandered over her as she turned her back to him and wiggled her ass. Playfully, she hooked her thumbs in the straps of her panties and snapped them as she peered over her shoulder at him. His stare had fallen to the space between her thighs and she could see an insatiable hunger lingering in their blue depths.
“Do you want me?” Kasey whispered, wetting her lips with a slow sweep of her tongue.
A grunt was his only response as he dropped to his knees behind her. He pulled her panties aside and pushed her legs apart with enough force to send her off balance. He steadied her by gripping her hips, then held her still before burying his face in her wetness.
She yelped from the unexpected and aggressive feel of his mouth against her.
“They can’t hear you, baby. Scream as loud as you want.”
Was it the smile she could hear in his voice, the term of endearment, or the touch of his tongue against her sweet spot? Kasey couldn’t be sure, but knew that her body was racing, hungry for him, and she flung her thumbs into the sides of her panties, pulling the thin fabric down her unsteady legs.
“In a rush, Miss Wright?” Jay smirked, as she stepped out of her panties.
There was no denying her need, but Kasey wasn’t concerned about appearances anymore. Reaching behind her back, she undid her bra easily, letting the lace fall to the floor as she kicked her foot up onto the leather loveseat, fully exposing herself, right in the office of her boss.
Jay was impressed; it was written all over his face. And when he settled between her legs, lapping his tongue in her sweetness, he looked up at her, watching as she cascaded into uninhibited pleasure.
“Ahh!” Kasey cried, as the orgasm built, contorting her body.
Jay moaned, unable to speak as he pulled her swollen clit between his lips. His tongue swirled over her and her legs buckled. He wasn’t done with her and made her stay where she was. She leaned forward to grip the back of the loveseat for support as he released her clit and plunged his tongue into her pussy.
“Jay!” She shouted his name just before exploding onto his mouth. She felt her walls tighten and relax as she ached for more; she wanted his cock inside her. She needed to be filled, to be stretched. She needed to be fucked.
“I’ve got you, baby,” he growled as he rushed to his feet before lifting her with one arm. Instantly, her legs wrapped around him as he made his way to his desk, brushing aside the papers scattered across the wooden top.
“Please,” Kasey tugged as his belt, unable to wait another second.
Their hands collided as each of them struggled to push aside the fabric separating them. Soon Jay’s pants and boxers were around his ankles. He eased Kasey’s thighs apart and settled between them, tracing the tip of his cock through her slippery wetness. Then he eased his way in. The first three or so inches were gentle, and then he plunged the rest of his length deep inside her, growling loudly as he filled her, shoving his dick in to the hilt.
Kasey spread her legs wider for him and moaned with satisfaction. She finally had what she wanted. He was inside her. She tore open the front of his shirt. Buttons danced over the desk and onto the floor. Neither of them cared. She ran her hands up his muscled stomach and chest as he pumped slowly and deeply into her pussy.
Jay was blessed with girth and length, enough to touch limits she didn’t know existed, while also spreading her to her maximum each time. Kasey rarely came from penetration, but his presence within her was enough to send her over the edge. To make matter worse, he knew exactly what he was doing inside her.
“Hold on,” he instructed, as he gripped her thigh before sliding out of her tightness, and thrusting back in.
“Yes!” She yelled before clapping a hand over her mouth.
It was midday. Kasey had spoken to Jay’s secretary before entering his office. This was wildly inappropriate, and as much as that turned her on, she didn’t want anyone in the office alerted to their illicit affair.
“They can’t hear you, baby,” Jay smirked, tugging at her elbow to remove her hand before burying his face in the long waves of her dark brown hair.
He worked into her, slow and then fast, as they each moaned and groaned in ecstasy, equally satisfied by each other until they could take no more. Jay’s hand gripped her ass, pushing her
forward to meet his every thrust until she exploded again, her second orgasm even stronger than the first.
And then he followed, shooting thick hot semen into her throbbing pussy as he growled her name with no regard for the packed office just a few feet from their sweaty bodies.
Kasey’s head fell back as she struggled to regain her composure, the room coming back into focus as if she’d been knocked unconscious by such a strong release.
“I have to go,” she pushed to move him, but he lay limp on top of her.
“Stop acting so tough,” was all he said before finding her mouth once more, sliding his minty tongue across her lips as he sank deeper inside her, his length surging through her flesh as she moaned in appreciation.
