Start a Fire: A Dark High School Bully Romance (The Savage Crew Book 1)

Helen pointed to his hand. “That’s sexy, girl.”
I laid my hand on his, sighing. “I know, right?”
After a while, Bex and Elijah wandered over, taking seats at the table. They looked cozy and a little starry-eyed for each other. Then again, I was high and tipsy, so it could have been all in my head.
One of the red-lipped girls from math class perked up in her chair, drumming on the table.
“We should do truth or dare. Take a shot if you want to pass,” she said.
Most people were buzzed enough at this point to agree this sounded like the best idea ever. I was one of those people. Helen was another one. Sebastian stayed still as a statue, gripping my leg like he planned to never let go.
“I’ll go first,” Red-lipped Girl said. “Javi, truth or dare?”
Javi rubbed his hands together. “Truth, girl. I always tell the truth.”
She rolled her eyes. “Best high you’ve ever had.”
“Easy,” he answered. “Rolling on Molly at the Swerve Festival last summer. Bash, truth or dare?”
Sebastian flipped him off, and Javi just laughed. “Fine, Bash’s girl. Truth or dare?”
I pointed to my chest. “Me?”
Javi nodded. “Yeah, girl. Truth or dare?”
“Truth.”
“You ever kissed a chick before?”
“No, but I would,” I replied. “Bex, truth or dare?”
The look she gave me was homicidal, but she was lucky it was me doing the asking. Who knew what would come out of Gabe or Elijah’s mouths if they had the chance.
Her shoulders rolled forward. “Dare.”
I hummed, thinking about the least humiliating dare I could get away with. “Close your eyes and point to the person in the group you’d kiss if you had a gun at your head.”
She went along with my dare, which I thought was clever in my inebriated state, pointing to Elijah. I relaxed, grinning at Bash as he watched me with amusement.
“You’re cute when you’re high,” he said.
I tipped my face up to him, and he leaned down, giving me a soft kiss filled with promises of more.
The game went on, but I barely paid attention. Sebastian’s hand kept creeping up my thigh, and his lips continued to find their way to mine.
Gabe crashed through the door with an entourage behind him. “Yo, what are we doin’ out here? Living the dream?” he bellowed.
“Truth or dare,” Red Lips supplied. “Your turn!”
He rubbed his hands together. “Oh, word? I get to ask anybody anything?” He zeroed in on me. “Guh-race!”
“Guh-abe!” I yelled back.
He laughed, holding his stomach. The kid was trashed, on a whole other level than me.
“Truth or dare, baby girl?” he asked.
“Truth!”
Sebastian’s hand clamped on my leg like he was bracing himself. I probably should have braced myself too, knowing Gabe, but of course I didn’t. I wasn’t in the state of mind to think that clearly.
“Hmmm…” He stroked his chin in contemplation. “Let me see. Something I’ve always wondered...how many dicks have you ridden in your young life?”
I didn’t even hesitate to answer, because I couldn’t think of a reason why I shouldn’t have.
“Three.” I scrunched my nose. “Although…does it count as riding a dick if it was missionary?”
“Jesus Christ, stop talking.” Sebastian leaned over me, searching my eyes. “Three?”
“Uh oh, Guh-race is in trouble now.” Gabe howled with laughter, and I had to giggle too, even though he was probably right. We hadn’t shared our numbers, but I imagined three was two too many dicks as far as Sebastian was concerned. He probably liked to think of my pussy as no-man’s-land and didn’t even count my drunken fumble with Nate. I wished I didn’t have to count it either.
Without warning, I was airborne, flung over Sebastian’s shoulder. He smacked my ass as he prowled past everyone, barking to Gabe to find a ride home.
“Bye, everyone!” I called, giving them an upside-down wave.
“I’ll take Bex home,” Elijah called back, and I gave him a thumbs up.
Bash placed me in the passenger seat of Gabe’s car, and he was surprisingly gentle while doing it. He held my face in his hands, searching my eyes for something, then he closed my door and circled around to climb into the driver’s seat.
As he pulled out onto the road, he handed me a bottle of water, and I unscrewed the cap.
“Thanks,” I said before taking a long swallow. “I’m definitely going to be pissed at you when I’m sober.”
He glanced at me, then back to the road. “You’d be even more pissed if I didn’t stop you from revealing more private shit about yourself to kids who wouldn’t think twice about spreading it around school.”
I drank more water, knowing in my fuzzy mind he was probably right, but too stubborn to admit it yet.
“You could have just told everyone I wasn’t playing anymore. We didn’t have to leave.”
His hands flexed on the steering wheel. “We didn’t. But I got tired of sharing you, and since your mom expects a phone call, I thought I should get you out of there before you got too wasted to talk to her.”
“So, you were being considerate in an asshole way?” Why did that make me melt? Probably because of the chemicals in my system, but maybe not. Maybe Sebastian’s brand of caring was exactly what I needed.
“Guess so.” He reached across the console to squeeze my leg. “I’ll take you to all the parties you want, Grace. That was the first, and I most likely could have handled it better.”
“Mmmhmmm.”
His hand slipped under the hem of my dress, resting at the top of my thigh. “Do you hate me?”
I twisted in my seat to face his profile, trapping his hand between my legs. “No, I don’t. I was more into you than anyone else there anyway.”
“That’s what I like to hear. My honest girl.”
I gave him a dreamy smile. “I’ll honestly tell you to fuck off when you screw up, Bash. Don’t forget that.”
“I’d be disappointed if you didn’t.”
I stretched across the space between us, kissing his sharp jaw. “And I’ll be disappointed if you screw up.”
But not surprised.
Chapter Twenty-eight
I woke to Sebastian’s head between my thighs. Already on the cusp of an orgasm, and I barely even knew my own name. My fingers tangled in his hair, which made him groan against my flesh and suck my clit between his lips.
Pleasure flowed down my spine and pooled in my belly as I came, panting his name. My brain floated in a cloud, dreamy and in that blissful stage between sleeping and awake.
Bash turned me onto my belly and climbed over me, straddling my hips. He spread my ass cheeks, the head of his dick prodding my entrance before driving into me. My neck arched as I gasped at his intrusion. He caught my throat in his hand, keeping my head against his shoulder.
“Morning, baby,” he growled.
“Mmm...good morning.” My voice was shaky and thick with both sleep and pleasure.
Last night was somewhat of a blur. When we got back to Sebastian’s house, he made me call my mom, and then he undressed me. I had expected him to toss me onto the bed and fuck me, but he slid under the sheets with me, curling his body around mine, and then...god, we must have fallen asleep.
“I like you like this.” He pumped into me from behind, but I could feel his eyes moving over me.
I tried to turn my head to see him, but he wouldn’t let me. “Like what?”
“At my mercy. Completely under my will. I could do anything to you like this, and you wouldn’t be able to stop me.”
“What could you do?” I panted. His hips slapped my ass over and over, and just the sound of it had me squirming.
His fingers slid between my cheeks, stopping at my opening there. He barely breached it, but I clenched in response.
“I could have thi
s ass. I know I’d be the first. Will you let me have it?”
“Does it matter if I let you?”
“I think we’d both enjoy it more if you were willing.” He wedged his finger inside me a little more, but only enough to be slightly uncomfortable.
“Not yet.” I tipped my face back as far as it would go, and he dipped down to touch his lips to mine. He dragged his mouth along my cheek and jaw, biting my earlobe.
“Soon?” he murmured beside my ear, slowing his rhythm.
“I would try with you.” The idea of Sebastian taking me that way, being the first, had me clenching around him. It turned me on more than I would have ever thought it would.
“Oh, you like that. My Grace is a dirty girl.” He clamped down on my shoulder with his teeth, taking me to the right side of pleasure and pain. I reared back, writhing beneath him. I had no idea what time it was, or if the sun had even risen yet, but he had me coming again.
“Bash,” I mewled, clawing at the sheets. His finger inched into me a little more, making me buck and prolonging my orgasm.
When I started to come down, he sped up, driving into me. He released my throat so he could hold on to the headboard in front of us, giving him even more leverage. His chest was hot against my back, covering me like a blanket. Even though he was being rough and hard, there was some tenderness mixed in with it. He murmured how sexy I was, how he never wanted to stop fucking me, then he said he’d never felt anything better than my pussy. He asked me if I liked it, if I loved it, if I wanted more, and then he gave it to me.
He grunted in my ear when he came, holding me against him as he spilled deep inside me, then he collapsed onto the bed, cradling my body with his, palming my breasts while he panted.
“You should just move in.” His thumb brushed my beaded nipple, making me shake. “I could wake up like that every fucking day for the rest of my life and die with a smile on my face.”
“My mom’s cool, but not that cool.” I was finally able to turn my head enough to see him. I kissed his chin and bottom lip, and he caught my face before I could turn away, pressing his lips to mine for a lingering kiss. “I’m surprised you let me fall asleep last night without having sex first.”
“You were wasted, baby.” He nuzzled into my neck, inhaling my scent, which had to be a decent blend of me plus weed and alcohol.
“I didn’t think that would stop you.”
“I knew you’d be here this morning. I like you better when you’re fully conscious.”
“And feisty?”
He nipped at my neck. “You’re always feisty, even dead-ass drunk. Maybe even more then.”
Needing to look at him, I rolled over so we were face-to-face. The first thing I did was kiss him, and even though I undoubtedly had morning breath, he opened my mouth with his tongue, deepening our connection.
“Tell me about number two,” he said against my lips.
My eyelids fluttered open. “Really?”
“Mmmhmmm. Tell me.”
“I had a boyfriend in Switzerland. We were together for six months, but friends for almost a year before that. He was nice.”
“Nice?” he scoffed.
“Yeah, nice. It’s what I needed then. He didn’t have a problem going at a snail’s pace with me. We only had sex a couple times, and it was never—”
“What? Never what?”
“Never like it is with you,” I breathed out.
He bristled, studying me for a long time. “We need to set up a Skype call with this guy so he can watch me fuck you and see for himself he doesn’t have a chance anymore.”
I bit back a laugh. “You think a guy I had sex with a handful of times, who lives on a different continent, is a threat?”
“Does he have a passport? Do airplanes exist? He’s a threat.”
I couldn’t hold back my laughter anymore. Sebastian wasn’t completely serious, but I also knew he wasn’t altogether joking. I found him funny, though. My sense of humor had gotten darker since having a psycho for a boyfriend.
“He’s a threat, meanwhile I spent last night snuggled up with your fuck buddy.”
His brows lowered. “Former. You know that.”
“I do know that, and even though it makes me feel sick when I think of the two of you together like that, I trust you. I trust her too. I definitely don’t want to Skype her while I’m riding your dick so she can see who you belong to.”
He snagged my lip with his teeth, tugging gently. “I don’t know. That’s kinda hot.”
I slapped his arm. “Shut up, Sebastian. You’re lucky I’m not asking you for your number.”
He caught my wrist, holding me still. “It’s probably not as high as you think. I was a scrawny little shit, then I was at an all-boy’s school for a year.”
I grinned. “I want to see scrawny-Bash pics. I bet you were adorable.”
“Never happening.”
“Can we be done talking about our pasts?” I broke my hand free to stroke my fingertips along his cheekbone. “I don’t want to know who you’ve slept with. It’s not important to me.”
“Yeah?” His mouth tugged down, but only for a moment. “Guess I can leave Swiss-boy alone—so long as he stays on the other side of the world.”
“Good. Now, can I please take a shower? I smell like weed and cum, and I’m not sure it’s the best combination.”
“You can, but I’m coming with you.”
“That was my evil plan all along.”
* * *
Once I was clean—after getting a little dirtier before that happened—I pulled on a pair of cutoffs, a tank top, and a cropped hoodie. My hair went into a damp bun on the top of my head, and my face was bare.
“Let’s go feed the monster.” He led me upstairs to the cozy kitchen I’d seen the first time we came here. Only, this time, it wasn’t empty. A woman with silky black hair and curves for days stood at the counter, watching the coffee pot drip.
Sebastian stopped suddenly, glancing from me to her. The woman must have seen his movements, because she turned, and I had to hold back a gasp at how exquisitely beautiful she was. I knew without a doubt she was Sebastian’s sister, Sara, from her expressive dark eyes and full, sensual lips.
Her eyes danced between us. “Good morning, Seb. You have a friend?”
His hand landed on my nape, steering me closer to his sister. “Sara, this is my girlfriend, Grace. Grace, my sister, Sara.”
When Sara smiled, she became slightly more human. Not that her smile wasn’t beautiful and perfect, but it was genuine and friendly, those familiar black eyes alight with curiosity.
“You’ve been keeping secrets,” she accused Sebastian. “Grace, it’s lovely and incredibly exciting to meet you.”
“It’s nice to meet you too. I hope it’s okay that I’m here this morning. Sebastian was supposed to run it by you, but I’m sort of doubting he did.”
“Oh my god, of course it is.” She leaned her hip against the granite island that took up the middle of the kitchen. “I feel like I’ve been waiting a hundred years for Seb to like a girl enough to bring her home. The only person from school I ever see is that little shit, Gabe, so you are a breath of fresh air.”
“Laying it on a little thick, huh?” Sebastian strode across the kitchen to the fridge, sticking his head in. “Anything good in here?”
“First, yes, I’m laying it on thick so Grace will stick around.” She winked at me. “I can tell she’s a good one already. And second, sit down and I’ll make you eggs. You’re only going to make a mess if you attempt to cook.”
He shut the refrigerator door, straightening. “All right. But you have to work fast. Grace turns into a monster when she’s hungry.”
Sara’s hands went to her cheeks in mock fear. “Oh no, I’m shaking in my boots.”
She busied herself with cooking while Sebastian told me to sit at the island. He brought me a cup of coffee and sat down beside me with one of his own.
“Okay, what?” I whispered.
You come from the same DNA as that sunny sprite of a woman?”
He snorted into his mug. “Sara got all the cheer.” He squeezed the back of my neck. “You can still run if you want. I know you didn’t sign up to hang out with my family today.”
“Stop it right now. If I didn’t want to be here, I would have made up an excuse.” I hooked my foot with his under the island. “Maybe I’ll get some insight into what made you this way.”
He leveled a serious look on me. “I can tell you that. A shit childhood, no outlet for my anger, and Bradley.”
I gripped his jaw harder than necessary. “I wasn’t talking about the bad parts of you. I’m talking about all the good you hide deep, deep down beneath it.”
“Deep, huh?” The corners of his lips hooked up.
“Sometimes so deep, I wonder if you have the Marianas Trench inside you.”
“And yet, you somehow see it.”
“On occasion.”
Sara came toward us carrying two plates of steaming eggs and toast. “It isn’t fancy, sorry. Normally Martina is here to prepare whatever we want to eat, but she has most of the day on Sundays off. She only comes in to cook dinner for us.”
I looked down at my plate of fluffy eggs and thick, buttery toast, then back up to Sara. “Considering I’ve never eaten food made by a personal chef, I doubt I’ll know what I’m missing.” I speared some eggs with my fork. “This actually looks delicious.”
She watched as I took my first bite, and since it was as good as it looked, I made the appropriate noises, which made her grin. “I haven’t cooked in ages. It’s nice to know I still have it.”
Sebastian shoveled eggs into his mouth, observing our interaction warily. I couldn’t say if he was more concerned for me or Sara. It could’ve been that he just really wanted us to get along, but I had a hard time imagining anyone not getting along with her.
Sara leaned over the island, resting her perfect chin on her fists. “Are you a senior too, Grace?”
“Yes, I am. Sebastian and I are in the same math class.”
“Really?” She wrinkled her nose. “My brother is so smart, but he chooses not to apply himself, so he’s in—forgive me for what I’m about to say—classes with idiots. You strike me as a smart puppy. How’d you get stuck in business math?”
