“Propose?”
“Yeah, as in marriage. You and me. See, I plan to spend the rest of my life telling my wife how glad I am I abducted her that night. That is, when I’m not designing high-rises and you’re not painting masterpieces. Okay?”
“Okay. I do love you, you know.”
“Good. Then we’re in agreement. Now we can get to the essential part.”
“I thought we just had.”
“Uh-uh, this is the essential part.”
His mouth angled across hers in a long, deep kiss that was a commitment beyond words. Savoring the moment, she reached up to stroke his angular jaw as his mouth finally parted from hers. She could feel the throbbing there that was familiar to her by now. That curious pulsing that always signaled his arousal.
“What?” he asked, noticing the gleam in her eyes.
“That muscle is twitching again.”
“Oh, yeah? Then we’re gonna have to do something about that,” he promised, his voice husky and rich with meaning. “Real soon.”
She had no argument with that. None whatever.
