Andrea blinked fast to keep the tears at bay. Gripping his hand even harder, as it was her turn to share her heart.
“Camden Joshua Holden, running into you was the best thing that ever happened to me. I felt instantly that you were something special, which was why I tried to run the other way. I’m grateful you gave chase in the most romantic and caring ways possible. Over time, you became my best friend. I can’t imagine my life without you in it, to tease me, reassure me and support me. I plan to do all those things for you as well. I love how you make me feel special and loved. I look forward to our specials outings, working late together and just snuggling on the couch with you. I don’t ever want to miss you again, because I’ll always be with you. You made me believe I could have a real love. I love you with everything I am, and neither of us will ever have to walk in this world alone again.”
Epilogue
Snuggling into the warmth at her back, Mika tried not to wake up. She was so not a morning person. Squeezing her eyes shut, she slowly let her mind come awake. She felt good, relaxed, and her body had that low-key hum that only great sex gave her. Speaking of sex…something big and hard was pressed against her bottom. She gave a satisfied smile in her semi-sleep state for about three seconds before her eyes popped open.
Wait just a damn minute…she hadn’t had sex in almost five months. So who the hell nice sized penis was rubbing up against her? Hell, where was she? Mika snapped her eyes closed again and held still, hoping the man sharing the bed would remain unaware that she was woke. She dug deep and processed her memory banks.
Okay what is the last thing you remember? Umm a flight? Yes! Yes, a flight! And just like that, the puzzle pieces started to click into place, playing like a slideshow in her brain. She had come to Vegas for what she thought was a spur of the moment trip, meant to cheer up her best friend. Then, she had been blindsided by Andrea saying she was getting married and standing up for her in the wedding. That was as far as she got before the memories trailed off. Who the hell was in her bed? Were they even in her bed, or were they in his? She had been accused of being a free spirit from time to time, and Vegas was Vegas, but this was taking it a bit far!
She didn’t even know anyone in Vegas, besides Andrea and Cam and…oh no. She jerked up, pulling the sheet up to her breasts like some self-conscious, proper lady from the 1950s, and glared at her bed partner. “You!”
Robert, who had barely missed getting chin-checked as she flung herself up, just rolled his eyes and felt his morning wood disappear. Looking at her, he stated, “Let me guess…you’re not a morning person?”
