“Shit Hails,” he whisper-curses, his eyes filled with unshed tears, “Hailey, you’re the love of my life, you are the light in my dark world. You are the glue that holds me together, since that kiss at seventeen you’re all I have ever wanted and I’m one hell of a lucky guy. Knowing that you and our children are safe and happy is all I need. So, I Scott Dallas take you Hailey Mayers to be my lawfully wedded wife, to love and to hold until death do us part.”
I’m a mess, no doubt my mascara is running down my face. “I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride.” The priest announces.
This kiss is the best kiss I’ve ever had and that’s saying something because Scott is a fantastic kisser. Our tongues meet and I hear someone coughing, “There are children present.” It’s Luke, I can hear the laughter in his voice and Scott pulls away only to turn and scowl at him.
“I can’t believe I’m married.” I whisper, beyond happy.
“You’re mine Hailey, you always have been and always will be.”
Six months later
Nicole
“Aunty Morgan where’s Billy?” I’m sad that he’s not here. I wanted to hold him, he’s so tiny.
“He’s with aunty Sabine and Tyler.” She smiles at me, her smile is the kindest smile ever, she always smiles at me.
“I want to see Tyler, can aunty Sabine come here?”
She shakes her head and I frown, “No sweetheart, she’s not coming here, you’ll be able to see Tyler soon okay?” Morgan’s being mean, no one’s letting me see any babies.
“Granddad, Morgan’s being mean. I don’t like her.” I cross my arms over my chest, “Will mommy and daddy be out soon.”
The doors open and daddy walks in with a smile on his face, “Matilda Madeline Dallas was born at 10:35pm weighing 8lbs 4oz.” everyone starts cheering but I want to see mommy. “Come on Nic, you want to meet your little sister?” I run towards him and he scoops me up in his big arms.
“Daddy, can I see the baby?”
“Yep, I’m bringing you to see Matilda and your mom now.” As soon as daddy opens the door I see mommy lying on the bed a tiny baby in her arms. Daddy walks me over to the bed, “Nicole meet your little sister Matilda.”
“Mommy she’s so tiny. Can I hold her?” She smiles and daddy puts me on the bed beside her and they help me hold my little sister. “Mommy she’s so pretty.”
“Both of my babies are pretty.” She leans forward and kisses my head, I love when she does that, she makes me feel special. “Are you happy?”
“No mommy, I’m not Morgan’s friend anymore. She won’t let me see Billy or Tyler.”
Both mommy and daddy laugh at me. “Honey, Tyler is only a week old, bringing him to the hospital isn’t a good idea. Dwayne and Sabine have to look after Billy so he can’t come either but you’ll be able to see them soon okay?”
“Okay mommy. Are they going to adopt anymore babies?” I know that word, it’s what mommy and daddy did with me and aunty Sabine and uncle Dwayne did with Tyler.
“I don’t know honey, we’ll have to wait and see. Daddy has a surprise for you.” Mommy takes Matilda out of my arms as daddy hands me a piece of paper. “That piece of paper says that you are now Nicole Matthew Mayers-Dallas.”
“You changed my name?”
Mommy nods, “We wanted you to have all of our names so you know that we all love you. So, Matthew is your middle name after Liza and Mayers-Dallas is what my name is.”
I start to cry, they love me so much. “I love you.”
Daddy picks me up and gives me a hug, “We love you too princess.”
