Claimed by Love

“There’s also time. Lots of time.” Luke cut in. “You’ve got centuries, instead of decades, to think about kids.” He brushed her hair back and kissed her forehead, his eyes drifting shut.
Sean watched them, his heart squeezing.
An arm snaked out and Luke grabbed Sean, and pulled him into their huddle until they all stood, a tangle of limbs and heartbeats and soft breaths, not moving for the longest time. Their scents mingled in the familiar way Sean loved, and their breathing calmed. He noticed the exact moment their heartbeats synchronized, and he knew in that instant, Kayley would be okay. They all would.
“What matters is that we’re together, we’re safe, and we love one another.” He looked into Kayley’s deep blue eyes, then Luke’s stormy gaze.
“You’re right. You’re both everything to me. I never want either of you to forget it,” Luke added.
“I’ve never been desperate for children myself, but when I saw how your parents’ pack placed so much importance on mating and breeding it struck me you might not want me the way I am.” Kayley nibbled on her lip as she spoke, making Sean want to hold her even tighter, so he did.
Kayley sniffed and dropped her head down to nuzzle at Sean’s neck, sending shivers of delight racing up and down his spine.
“I swear she’s as addicted to your neck as you are to her hair,” Luke laughed, his teeth flashing bright white in the dim light of the room. “Kayley, you should know by now, we don’t abide by the ways of shifter society. We do our own thing in this pack. If you’re happy as we are, so am I. I can’t speak for Sean but I think he’d say the same.”
“I do say the same.” He smiled at Kayley before turning to Luke and giving him a narrowed eyed look. “By the way, what you said? Totally speaking for me.”
Luke grabbed Sean, and the next moment his feet left the ground as he flew through the air. His breath left him on a soft, surprised, oomph, as he hit the comforter on the bed. Luke grinned down at him for a moment, the predatory smile doing all sorts of things to Sean’s insides. Luke then turned and lifted Kayley, who gave a small squeal as she flew into the air, and deposited her right next to Sean. They lay panting beside one another as Luke stared down at them, his expression going from playful to downright dangerous. Sean recognized the look, knew it meant he’d get a good fucking. Or maybe Kayley would this time around?
“I want you to play with one another,” Luke commanded.
“What about you?” Sean started to reach for Kayley. Her flushed face and bright eyes a joy to behold after seeing her so upset.
For them, sex was more than a mere physical act. It allowed them to strengthen their bond, reassure one another, and take one another’s scent. Anytime they had a fight, rare as they might be, or were upset, they’d reconnect in this most basic of ways.
“Me?” Luke tapped his mouth. “Oh, I’m going to watch…and enjoy every damn minute of it. You’re not the only one who likes to be a voyeur now and again. Then, when you’re both fucked out and exhausted, I’m going to fuck you both again, ‘til you can’t walk straight.”
Sean believed every word. They’d be hot, sweaty messes by the time Luke finished with them—and he’d have it no other way.
“Love you.” He smirked at Luke. He kissed Kayley hard on her delectable mouth. “Love you too, gorgeous.”
“And I love you both.” Kayley licked her lips, watching Luke watch them.
“Love you, too…now get on with it,” Luke growled.
So, with a happy sigh, Sean did as he was told.
Epilogue
She ran, fast. Breath coming in gasps, legs flying under her. Her wolf wanted to purr its happiness out, like some big cat not a canine. Luke moved ahead of her, his dark, glossy coat shining in the moonlight. Sean stayed right beside her, his silver form eerily highlighted by the pale light. Will, Julie, and Taylor brought up the rear.
They’d settled into a tight-knit and happy pack. Will had conquered his problems controlling his wolf during the months he’d spent running free on Luke’s parents’ land. Will still visited them regularly, and sometimes Luke went with him. Sean had patiently given Will lesson after lesson in turning to wolf form. He’d also taught her cousin how to hunt and track using his enhanced senses.
There’d be no hunting this trip, they just wanted to run and play, and sleep out under the stars. The night air was cold, but the snow felt wonderful under her paws.
The first time she’d been running with them like this, Kayley had freaked out. It reminded her so much of her childhood dreams of wolves, she’d known for certain then that Luke wasn’t the only one who could see glimpses of the future. Further proof of her ability came with the silver wolf painting she’d been so drawn to, which was clearly Sean. And her childhood sketchbooks were full of a dark, huge wolf with lighter markings around its ruff. All along she’d been depicting Sean and Luke and never known it.
Still disturbed by the odd connection, she’d turned to her grandmother, who herself claimed to possess a sixth sense. Together they researched the family tree. Kayley discovered Inuit blood on her mother and grandmother’s side. Grams’ own grandmother was rumored to be a wise woman who could heal the sick and foresee certain events. She’d also been said to have befriended a local wolf pack. People in the area believed she brought them luck and protected them from wolf attacks.
Luke had smiled at her news, convinced they would have found one another even if Will hadn’t become a member of their pack. Kayley, not so much. She thought their meeting serendipity in its most magical form. Sean didn’t care, simply saying they were together and nothing else mattered.
The pack slowed down, panting, tongues lolling out. A huge, snow-covered beach stretched ahead of them. The rough ocean crashed in on angry, frenzied waves. At one end of the beach stood imposing, slate gray cliffs. As a human she’d have been as intimidated as hell by this place, but her wolf loved it. They trotted at a slower pace toward a cave, nestled in the cliffs and climbed up the shingle path to the entrance. Once inside they shook themselves, and then set about checking one another out. This was their ritual after a run. They’d lick and sniff at one another, rub their muzzles together, and reassure themselves they were all okay. Then they’d settle down to sleep.
The next morning they were up before sunrise, yapping and barking with some low howls thrown in for good measure, and then they were off again. Running for home.
As they rounded the corner to their compound, Luke stood to one side, glowed with that bright halo she now found so familiar, and then stood in front of them in human form. As naked as the day he was born, the man looked incredible. She’d never grow tired of gazing upon his perfection.
He walked up to the warehouse and entered the code on the security pad. They all filed in, Sean changing as soon as he was through the door, closely followed by Taylor and Julie. Will, as usual, walked off to the back rooms to change in private. Despite fully accepting and embracing his wolf, he’d never quite overcome that particular human shyness.
She headed into the den, grabbed some panties and pulled them on along with a loose dress, then flopped down on the huge couch, happily exhausted. Seconds later, Sean wandered into the room. Faded jeans hung low on his lean hips, low enough to telegraph he went commando underneath, and her tiredness faded as her libido perked up.
“What do you think?” He kneeled in front of her and turned to show her his right shoulder. Kayley examined the wolf tattoo there. She’d done it a couple weeks back, and it looked good if she said so herself.
“It’s totally healed.” She stroked the skin, carefully. “To be honest, it pretty much had after the first few days. Shifter blood eh? Good for so many things.”
He laughed and pulled her into a big bear hug.
“Don’t you dare leave me out.” Luke stalked into the room and threw himself on the couch, reaching for them, big arms spanning them both and squeezing tight.
The others had disappeared. Julie to do her hair, most probab
ly, the way she did after each shift. Will and Taylor to get showered.
“Once the rest of the team are all sound asleep, I’m going to take you both to bed and I’m going to fuck him into the mattress while he goes down on you,” Luke whispered, low and filthy, in Kayley’s ear, while he cupped Sean’s crotch with one large hand.
Her blood roared at the suggestion, and the visual. They made love a lot, and in many different ways, but always with care that no one got left out. Her biggest fear had been that she’d somehow come between the two men, which never happened. Instead they all complimented one another.
“I’m going to take a shower.” Sean patted her ass as he walked by, getting a mock growl for his efforts.
“Bite me,” he snarled.
“Oh, give it time.” She laughed back.
When he’d walked out the room, Luke turned to her and hugged her again, nuzzling her neck and nibbling at his claiming mark. “You’re so good for him, you know?”
“What do you mean?”
“He’s been through so much, and I love him more than anything, but he needed someone like you. You lighten things up…make life fun around here. I can be a bit intense sometimes, I suppose.”
“You don’t say?” She dug him in the ribs, knowing from his snort he understood her sarcasm.
“Well, just a tad. Maybe.” Luke played along, voice light, but then he grew serious again. “You’re lighthearted and playful and Sean needs that, needs it to forget and to heal. To really enjoy life.”
“He helps me too,” she told him simply. “But if you think you’re just some intense burden then you’re way off mark. You’re everything to us, to both of us. You’re the reason we have fun. People can only play and laugh when they feel safe, when they’ve got the base they need to allow them to explore the lighter side. You’re our base.”
His cheeks flushed and he looked away, but she gently took hold of his chin and turned him back around to face her. “Luke, you keep this whole pack together, protected, tight. The reason it’s such a great pack is because you’re such an amazing alpha. You’re also my mate and Sean’s mate, and don’t you ever think that you’re not part of why we have fun and laugh. We love you.”
Luke nodded but didn’t seem able to speak. Shock seared through Kayley when she saw tears in his eyes. Luke rarely showed such depth of emotion. He dipped his head and took her mouth in a gentle kiss. Slow and tender, it nonetheless conveyed a million things that right now Luke couldn’t say.
Desire pooled as it did every single time this man touched her. Moisture dampened her panties, and when he took a deep breath, she knew he scented it on her.
Any moment now the pack would wander back in, to wind down together for an hour or two, the way they always did after a shift. Then though, they’d be exhausted and would sleep for hours, and she’d get the chance to play with her men.
“Not sure I can wait,” Luke murmured into her ear, wrenching his mouth from hers with an almost pained groan.
“Me either. We can’t skip this bit though, they need us.”
“I know. But just so you know—”
“Yeah, I got the message the first time. You’re fucking Sean through the mattress while he—”
“Nah. Changed my mind. I’m going to fuck Sean while he fucks you.”
Her eyes widened and she glanced up at him. “Well…that’ll be something new.”
“Won’t it just. To feel him, be inside him, while he loses it inside you…” He trailed off, his eyes darkening as he held her gaze.
“Crap,” she muttered. “Let’s hope they get tired quickly.”
He laughed and the sound warmed her heart. “Yeah. Let’s. You know? You’re just as bad as me when it comes right down to it?”
“Of course. I’m your mate. Do you think the heavens would have aligned you with some prudish creature? I love everything we do, and I can think of a few things of my own I’d like to try.”
“Oh yeah?” He raised his eyebrows. “Such as?”
“That would be telling, and I don’t want to spoil the surprise, so you’ll just have to wait and see.”
“Wait and see what?” Taylor strolled into the room, bulging out of a tight T-shirt. Kayley swore that if the man pumped any more iron he’d explode his biceps.
“Oh, what we’re having to eat later,” she lied smoothly, smirking at Luke’s carefully blank expression.
“I don’t think it’ll be too long before I hit the sack. I’m shattered.” Sean reentered the room and gave an exaggerated yawn. Luke grinned like a little boy, and Kayley had to bite her cheek to stop from giggling out loud.
If anyone had told her she could love two men with equal intensity she’d have laughed in their face. She always thought love was something you held for just one person, now she knew how wrong she’d been. Love wasn’t finite and Kayley had plenty of it to go around, which seemed like a miracle after wondering if she’d ever feel the emotion again.
Finally, after years of loneliness and heartache, Kayley found herself filled with love and happiness. Life couldn’t offer her anything more. Everything she ever wanted and needed, she now possessed.
She’d found her family. She’d freed herself from the fear. She’d come home.
